What a catastrophe!!!!! Nope, I am not talking about the Helsinki Disaster, but my poor coffee maker! I woke up and listening for the coffee maker to beep to let me know that it is time to drag my a** out of bed. No beep. I am grumbling that Gary must have forgotten to set it up. That is a capital offense in my house. But... when I got into the kitchen, there was no coffee.
Our coffee maker was in the sink with a note attached that said "Coffee Maker No Good" My husband loves me very much and had set the Keurig up for me. I had won that thing years ago but I hate using it as it is such a pain to fill the filter, clean it all out, wait for it to brew. :wait1:

We just looked online to get a new one. Thankfully, he had $ in his PayPal account. We found a good one at Target.com with a 25% off sale and he is off to pick it up in a bit. Whew!

I *personally* had a relatively uneventful day yesterday. And that is all I am going to say about it. :tape: Laundry, food shopping prep, a bit of cleaning out the spent leaves and flowers from some of the tiger lilies. After dinner, Caitlyn and I went to the walk.yoga. we went to an are of the Gardens that I didn't even know existed. All hostas and wildflowers and a little pond with frogs and toads all around. It is fenced off so the deer don't eat everything so I never paid much attention. But so pretty! Yoga under the trees was a nice way to end "what a day."

I am cleaning today instead of tomorrow so that is switched around. Scott and Leah are off to the lake house for a couple of days. I am happy that my parents are OK with it-- it took them a long time to feel comfortable with the "kids" being up there without them.

Nothing much more around here.
Hope all of you have a relaxing and happy day ahead.

Hi Jean- looks like everyone is either still on vacation or has melted in the humidity.
Looks like tomorrow and Thursday will be really nice. Bet you are looking forward to that! Glad that your DH didn't have to be out in the full sun for the H&S and ice cream is always a good thing. Yum.
Were you able to get the stuff done yesterday in spite of no energy to do it? I have to call and make the appt for my Breast MRI- I finally got the authorization from my insurance company so my dr called to tell me to go ahead an have that done before my next appt with her.

Waving :hello: to all of you!

good morning - whew yesterday was so busy I never got here. Got up early and got ready to take Luther to vet for a followup on his tick removal and take blood just to prove he has not tick born diseases. My son and I were pretty sure it was a dog tick and sure enough test were right and it was a dog tick. So probably he has not tick borne diseases but you never know so there went a lot of money. LOL All of my sports are on vacation today - it is a rest day for Tour de France, baseball is on All-Star break with the home run derby tonight but that does not interest me, tennis is over until the US Open end of Aug. So watched some tv. I need to find a show to binge. Went to doggie treat store as Luther was so good at the vet. After the vet Luther and I went for a walk around the little pond and boy was it humid. But I made sure Luther had water. He came back and was tire and hot. Rested a lot during the day. I cooked a burger dish and it was pretty flavorful. I have started a new set of books. Turns out that Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series has now turned into a Jack Ryan Jr. series written by others who have taken on the Clancy style. The first one is pretty good. I looked into it as I am seeing tv ads for a new Jack Ryan series.

Chris glad you got away and that is funny but maybe not how you and your dad are sort of competing to see who can work the hardest. Your dad is pretty awesome. Glad he is going to the doctors to make sure all the medication is working properly! Have fun at yoga. And I cant wait until this cold front to go through and get rid of some of the humidity. Bet Scott and Leah enjoy the cabin.

Jean yes it should finally be nice on Wed. Glad you DH still does his music. The heat tends to slow everything down. So saw the Indians and they slowed downed the Yankees. Pretty impressive!

Felis hope scrapping is going well.

Saw some photos from Trudy on facebook and she looks happy on vacation!

Rae sending hugs!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies from this jet lagged lady! We had the most fabulous vacation! I can't believe that it is over already. So much to tell you, but it might have to be done in stages as my mind is a bit foggy from the long flight home and the time change is a killer! Very warm and sunny this morning, so it will be good to be outside for a bit today. Paris is such a beautiful place, with so much to see and what a wonderful way to get around by those super fast trains that they have! We went from Paris to Arras in 40 minutes!! Such a fun spot with the most amazing square to sit at and enjoy some great food and wine! Then we cabbed it to Vimy and spent many hours there, we were so honoured to have been able to visit that monumental place! I will have lots to scrap about and so many photos to go through. Wish we could have stayed a few more days, but now our Son and family will be starting there long trek across Canada to get to their new home in the next day or so. Jason and Jackie stayed one more day than we did in France so I think that they will be on the plane now and will arrive back in B.C. soon. I keep wishing that I would have kept a journal while we were on our trip, if we ever do this kind of trip again I most definitely will, but I don't know when I would have written in it as we were so busy every minute of every day! LOL.

Chris - What can I say about the state of affairs in the States! Better to just keep my mouth shut! :tape: I hope that you can get your coffee pot soon, it truly is a disaster when the coffee pot kicks the bucket! Hope your new one works fast! Your yoga walk sounds so very Zen! How nice that you can do that with Cait! Enjoy your day my friend! I missed chatting with everyone here !

Nancy - Wish I could have had more time to post more things on Facebook, seems like every second of every day was filled to the brim with things to do. Then we would come back to the apartment and just crash! Oh and I started reading that first book in the series of the Crazy Rich Asians on my Kobo and so far am enjoying it very much! I read a novel on the way out to Paris called the Kite Runner if you get a chance you should try to pick it up, it is a very good read! I will try to get some more photos posted for everyone to see. Just need a day or so to re-adjust to the time change. Then I am off to Ontario to pick up Heather and the boys, so another adjustment period for that time change too. Ugh!! Sorry that you had to put out the $$ for Luther's tick test, but I am sure you would rather know for sure that he is ok! Nice that you are able to enjoy some more good reading! Hope the humidity settles down a bit for you today, I don't know how you can stand that humid weather!

Ok I need more coffee and with the neighbours behind us being gone on vacation in their motor home it will be nice and quiet around here for a change. So I think we will enjoy breakfast on the back deck this morning. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I am enjoying a few minutes of quiet computer time with peaceful classical music playing softly and Taz is snoozing at my feet. I'm starting work now though b/c I have tons of it and we'll be leaving for the hospital this afternoon. D is on holidays this week so his buddy and him are going to put up a new fireplace mantle today, not sure how I feel about it, I think it's too oversized for our small LR. Then he's off to get our android box reprogrammed as the apps aren't working (happens every 3-4 months or so) but it's cheap enough, no complaints. The awesome thing is that our old android box works at the trailer so we can get our IPTV to work out there and had lots of movies to watch over the wkend. It was very relaxing.

Jen talked to our MLA yesterday and they are going to look into B's case. They don't know if there is anything they can do but at least they are willing to try to help.

I'm going to be looking for a lamb meatball recipe to try out. I've never cooked with lamb before but want to try it. B wants me to bring her some meatballs so I'll get the meat today or tomorrow and then bake a big batch to freeze and put aside few small portions to bring up for B. They have a microwave there so I can reheat them.

Chris - last week it was my coffee maker, now its yours. At least you had the Keurig (us too). I also have one of those plastic filter things to put over a coffee mug to make a single serving of coffee. I've had it for about 30 yrs and have only had to use it a few times but when needed, it sure is appreciated b/c I cannot live without my coffee :)

Trudy - welcome back. Can't believe your trip is over already. Loved seeing some photos on FB. You look amazing (as does Paris)! Glad you get a few days to unwind before heading out again. How was your eating plan? Did you do ok? I'm sure you splurged, how could you not? Any special goodies you tried? Enjoy breakfast on the deck this morning. It's a beautiful day out there.

Nancy - glad Luther's tick was not anything to worry about but yes, sucks about the vet bill b/c we all know that's never cheap. Hope you find a good show to binge on. Have you checked Netflix? On my to-watch list is Black Mirror, Life In Pieces, Ozark and Animal Kingdom. Maybe one of those might interest you.

Felis, Jean and everyone else...hope all is well.

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work now. Have a great day, everyone.

After thunderstorms last night it is much nicer today. We had a fairly light dinner last night but after we went to the nearby candy store which has ice cream too. We each got a double-Dutch chocolate and ate it walking back to the car in light rain. It felt so good.

Chris, yeah, least said about yesterday and all!! Hope you're all set with the new coffee maker. What a sad thing it would have been without the Keurig as a stopgap. Wow, a super new place for you in the Gardens and it must have been wonderful for the yoga.walk. Hope cleaning today doesn't wear you out. And no, I don't think I did any of the things I was supposed to. Did help DH deal with some more cousin stuff (his sister and insurance companies and trying to find where he put some papers) and talked to my friend who calls for long conversations, oh, and did the journaling for week 28. I received a very nice email from the president of the group I spoke to Saturday (she's also a friend) with positive feedback including ways she'd already used some of my info. You know how good that made me feel.

Nancy, well $$ aside, good to know that Luther doesn't have a problem from the tick. Thanks for noticing the Indians got some back from the Yankees! And tonight is the All-Star game (home run was last night) with six Indians in it we might enjoy it. Anyway, Luther and I will both be enjoying nicer weather for a few days now.

Trudy!! Welcome home (briefly). What an exciting time you describe. You'll still be one busy lady with the other part of your family soon. What a lot of scrapping inspirations there will be. Eager to hear more. Did you get to see soccer celebrations there?

Rae, hope the MLA can be of help, someone sure needs to improve that darn hospital. Lamb meatballs should be interesting. I mostly only get lamb in Middle Eastern type restaurants here but there is some in the grocery store. Have never made meatballs with it though. I'm sure B will enjoy them.

Felis, saw another cool LO with sister's photos. Hope you are enjoying working with them.

Good afternoon, ladies!
I'll come back and see all I'm missed but today will focus only to the last posts, sorry.
Personally I have a lovely regular summer days. I'll save you the info about happened in my country last week, because I believe that if you can't help (and no one can), it's not worth it to know. Will tell only that even my mom who watch news everyday, just as a bad habit, this time was disturbed. I know these people are strangers, but the tragedy of their farms is so horrible.
Sometimes I wants to was able to be heartless. Empathy is kind of curse. As author was said: "people who cares the least always win". But I just couldn't in that case, so I was in bad mood and not much talkative. Preferred to isolate in my small personal world, snuggling with my cats and with the music which takes you away from here, at imaginary worlds, where the love is the only pain. So simple!

Chris, sorry for the coffee maker! I hope that you accept needs from changing of the home appliances whit less feelings than me! You know me, I'm a little bit freak when it's matter the memory keepers. I don't remember do I was show you this animation?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vi7-AIgOJRY Sorry if I'm repeat myself!
How exciting to find new park to walk!

Nancy, we also have one of these water bottle for dogs, but it's too big for the small and not enough for the big dog, so we actually don't use it with any of them. Greath that vet is gone well! Have fun with the new book series! Umm, yeah I scrap a lot, but not got attention I was hoped so I have few pages in progress, but not rush to finalize them. Will see, can left them for the next month.

Trudy, I was imagine you a lot at these days and I'm so happy that you had this wonderful vacation! I'm so curious about the layouts you will made! Will give you subjects to come back on it, for a long time. Did you was able to visit Musée d'Orsay?!

Jean, I love your ice cream story, kind of romantic! Great that you enjoy this weather! Please excuse me I have much to catch of your posts and pages!
So Sunday and Monday notes:
Jean, it's easy to talk on a familiar friendly faces with sure! Sounds like a wonderful meeting! Great that all with the equipment was all right! Did you have some visual materials from these old newspapers?!
As about my boring book, I'm afraid that if I left every book that I dislike, I wouldn't be able to build my complete vision of book styles. Which will limitated my knowages about the literature. If that explanation make sense, or I lost it into the translation?!
What kind of musics Hum & Strum actually played?! It's seems like I was not remembered this.

Rae, your description sounds pretty much as mine ;) with the difference that here is indie rock and cats and we are outside at the yard. But I hope that this had the same relaxing results as for me! I think you just need need a little time to get used to the new fireplace mantel. Do you plan soon to go to the trailer?

Love you all, girls! Sorry that so to often I'm not good listener! Wish you all wonderful week! :ranger:
