It's looking sparkly clean and fresh in here this morning! Everyone did an awesome job cleaning up. No more ketchup, whew. ;):housekeeping:
Now if I can get my house all clean and sparkly too I'll be happier than you can imagine. My poor house is looking more than a little rough around the edges.
I never got to tidying here since I ran around all day. And it wasn't running, it was driving and it was to different medical offices. First up was to the vet for Jaida who gained 6 lbs in 6 months. Gary has been spoiling her with the good treats and table scraps and cait and I scold him for it.
Gary ~> :lalala: The vet believes she has arthritis and with two bad knees, her weight has to be on the lower side. We've been telling him this for 8 years, maybe he will listen this time? *fingers crossed*
Getting pulled off-balance from walking a now 70 lb dog who did *not* want to do into the vet's office aggravated my knee and I decided to see my doctor. I made an appt, went for x-rays, and there is nothing structurally wrong with the joint. Yay!! It's a sprain or strain with muscle spasms so stronger pain meds and muscle relaxers. At least my mind can rest easy. Or it's simply going to move on to the next obsession :D
That could be my BP. It was 150/90 at the office so they did an EKG which was normal. (See!! I can be normal in some ways :floorlaugh: ) It went down to 130/80 before I left so that was good. I still have to make an appt with the cardiologist soon. I know I need to do it, it's just a PITB. :/

I'll be careful when I am cleaning today and take breaks. This afternoon I'll rest my leg, meds at dinner time and go from there.

Wishing everyone a very happy day!

@BrightEyes hahaha! Eva and the ketchdown bottle. She loves to make a mess :rotfl:
When you use the B&D coffee pot, can you let me know if you like it? Ours is still turning itself off after it brews and we like having the Keep Warm for 4 hours feature.
This heat is too much. We had Real Feel temps of 100+ yesterday afternoon.

@vickyday Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing day yesterday. How is Ilene doing in the heat?

@tanteva Totally could not punish that kitty's face ♥ (yours on the other hand... :whip3: Hahahahaha!)

@JeanneMN :shemademe: Looks like you know who made the ketchup mess :D

@bcgal00 awww poor Remi! She is going to miss her pup-dates. Are there other dogs she can hang out with until Bella comes back?
I have all fingers and toes crossed the inspector passed the deck work so far.
Add me to the list of annoyed customers with small appliance failures.

@Terri M It's been weird how quiet it is outside, I don't think anyone wants to be out and about. I asked Scott if it's been busy at the parks and he said it's been really quiet. Good for him so he can stay in the work truck.
Were you able to get David away from the gutters? No need for them when it's so darn dry.
I am the same way, a slower scrapper but I need to try every last blending mode and use layer masks on each item and every drop shadow has to be tweaked. OCD comes in hot. ;)
Apple TV seems to have the best shows and that is one service we don't have, LOL

@taxed4ever The weekend visit with your friend sounds wonderful, I hope it cheered Linda up a little while.
Can you tell us what you bought on your shopping trip, promise to not tell your Gary :p
Good watering vibes to your lawn and the bushes and for the fence repair- any news?
@AK_Tracy No need to worry about us in the heat, just worry about my electric bill. :thud:
I understand how hard it is to clean ketchup and not spread it around even more. You all done it gooder. :goldstars:
How did it go at the chiro? I hope you feel better and that you didn't need my advice- but good to be prepared just in case.

@scrap-genie and @BrightEyes Shame on you both for targeting @tanteva You all know she would never waste a drop of ketchup anywhere.
:lol23:

@Cherylndesigns I think that if you guys didn't make a mess while I was away, I would be sad!
The book I read was one my BFF gave to me The Housemaid It was decent, same genre that she has passed on to me a few other times. A young lady gets a job in a house with a lot of secrets...
I haven't even picked my First Reads yet.

Kay- did you ever find out why the base was in lockdown? Yikes!

@Cherylndesigns Ahhh! That must have been terrifying about the lockdown in Jamaica!

Be safe out there, my lOves!

hey did an EKG which was normal. (See!! I can be normal in some ways :floorlaugh: )

I just want to add - I have a paper, signed by a specialist doctor, that my brain looks normal!
I treasure that paper. Been meaning to frame it and hang on the wall. LOL

Keep checking your BP. Mine sky-rocketed - had like 100/160. I was totally exhausted - just slept an entire day. Nothing wrong with my heart though, EKG was fine. Now, with meds my BP is better than it's been in my entire life. 80/110ish all the time.

Getting older really SUCKS! You get pains in body parts you didn't even knew you had.

What I do LOVE though is my hair. Love the gray. Have always been coloring my hair, since it was rat colored, but now I love my natural color. And - it has to be menopause - my hair doesn't get greasy anymore. Love that too.

Finally making banana bread right now! Never tried it before. But today I've decided, I can't have these silly "fears" (to strong word, but you know what I mean) - if I want to try something or do something - I shall do it. Not making it such a big thing in my head. Worst case - I fail. It's not like I'm going to die because of baking.

I was just getting ready to write, and then I got distracted by seeing a hummingbird visiting all my flowers out the back window. I love that they come even though I don’t put out the feeders any more. Anyway…

@faerywings We had 105 heat index yesterday, supposed to be at least as bad today but starting tomorrow will be cooler, finally. But still no real rain in the forecast. Re: blood pressure, I think it’s almost inevitable in our society, plus there’s that “white coat syndrome” on top of it. I always try to arrive at the office with enough time to sit and relax before they call me in, but since I started a BP med a few years ago it’s been easy and cheap to control and I’m sure it’s better than my borderline condition I had for quite a while.

@tanteva Yes to gray hair! I highlighted mine before gray because it was a mousy nothing color (must be the fate of blond children). But now I’m perfectly happy with the color, it even shines in the sun. I save so much $$.

I got David inside yesterday before the temp hit 95, but he’s out again this morning, swearing he’s almost done. Well, of course, unless he decides to do the front of the house, too, which will need another trip to Home Depot. Once he gets his mind on a project he’s relentless. Which makes him a really good husband but I do worry about him at times now that he’s closer to 80 than 70.

I did get the whole house vacuumed and all the spider webs dusted away yesterday. If we just moved out it would stay that way. I have to go grocery shopping. I never do that on Monday because our local supermarket seems to need Monday to fill up the shelves again from the weekend. There are times I miss being in the NY metro distribution area, down here in central VA we’re at the end of the trucks’ route.

Keep cool!

Good Morning to all,
Heading to Ilene's in about an hour. She is inviting a friend to go to lunch with us and then play Qwirkle with us. That is always interesting. You either love the game or you hate it! Ilene and I love playing it whether we are winning or losing! Same for Rummikub with my sister in the evenings. Like last night.....I think she won 5 out of 6 games, but, no matter! I love playing!
I haven't walked since last Thursday. Today I did my 2 miles. It was getting pretty muggy by the time I finished. I'm doing the 2 miles in just under 40 minutes, so I'm not breaking any records, but I do feel better after walking!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Yay!! It's a sprain or strain with muscle spasms so stronger pain meds and muscle relaxers. At least my mind can rest easy.
I'm so glad you had it checked! Glad it is only a sprain/strain! REST!!!!!
my BP. It was 150/90 at the office
I'm sure the worry over your knee and everything else had a lot to do with that BP being so high!
Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing day yesterday. How is Ilene doing in the heat?
I did, thank you! Mark ended up coming home from work early as he was not feeling well! He slept about 4 hours. I was getting worried about him. But he must've needed it because he felt somewhat better when he got up. I'm not sure how he could sleep all night after that "nap"! I surely could not have!
Ilene does better in the heat than I do, LOL! She certainly is a hardy woman!
Getting older really SUCKS! You get pains in body parts you didn't even knew you had.
Ain't it the truth!
What I do LOVE though is my hair. Love the gray.
I really love your profile avi, Eva! Your hair looks very pretty! Some days I hate my gray hair, but for the most part, I like it! So much better than having to worry about those blasted roots!
And - it has to be menopause - my hair doesn't get greasy anymore. Love that too.
Same for me! I can go about 5 days before I need to wash my hair!
Worst case - I fail.
And try, try again!

Morning, gals. I had just poured my 1st cup of coffee when the phone rang... it was a dear friend that I have been thinking about the past couple of days... she lives in Florida. We chatted for awhile... it was great to catch up with her and the family. Our hubbys worked together for many years. That got my morning off to a wonderful start. It did not cool off as much last night... the A/C was running at midnight.,,, too warm to open the house this morning. Will be another scorcher today. Have several errands to run so will get them done before it is too hot to be out.

@faerywings I haven't unpacked the B&D coffee pot and won't be keeping it after all. Discovered that was the brand I had that quit working within a year... then I bought the Hamilton Beach one I have now. The base has Hamilton Beach ones at a reasonable price so will buy one there when the one I have quits. I am taking the B&D back today.

Talked to my sister last evening. She is planning to come over for a visit sometime in the next couple of weeks. It will be so good to have her here for about a week. We will be working on scanning and sharing family photos.

Will be back later... need to get dressed and out the door pretty soon.

Good Morning! :hug4:

there is nothing structurally wrong with the joint
Oh Chris this is wonderful news!!!!! So glad you had it checked out!!!

How did it go at the chiro?
This was good. This was ow. This is happening again :giggle4:
So all my muscled are SO tight hes thinking this is a chronic problem that was just aggravated by surgery and being put out where the muscle relaxed in a way they haven't for years and it caused the clavicle to pop out. My hips were out of alignment. They are achey sore today, especially the left. My right clavicle/shoulder is :sad2: I have to massage aggressively the clavicle joint, right in front near sternum, to break up the tissues trying to form bonespurs before they become hard sharp bone. Hurts like heck. If you put your hand on your chest where clavicle and sternum meet, mine are different heights. The right is noticeably sticking out. And apparently I have a rib out of place right below that. Not a lot but its not right. And the muscles holding all this is SO tight and shortened that he said he's never seen one so tight/short. So painful massage at home, hubs has to help apply pressure and see if we can loosen the muscle. I see him again next week. I really like him, very knowledgeable and really listened. I had to giggle when he told to keep life symmetrical this week. Make sure any stretch or lift is on both sides the same. Left and right side of me is tug of war-ing to try and straighten things up which is why some of the pain. I'm hopeful that this will help. If not any better in two weeks, then I have to see Ortho.

I have a paper, signed by a specialist doctor, that my brain looks normal!
I treasure that paper. Been meaning to frame it and hang on the wall. LOL
I love this!!!! I have asked many times for papers saying I am normal and the docs all laugh and walk away. I love that you have a signed paper!!

I never do that on Monday because our local supermarket seems to need Monday to fill up the shelves again from the weekend. There are times I miss being in the NY metro distribution area, down here in central VA we’re at the end of the trucks’ route.
Sounds like our stores, only its Tuesday they stock. We learned never ever buy fruit on Monday or Tuesday. Its the gross stuff that no-one wants. We are the last stop and in winter we always just hope no avalanches happen and keep the trucks from getting to us. Has in the past and oh the shelves get empty.
2 miles in just under 40 minutes, so I'm not breaking any records, but I do feel better after walking!
This is a great time! I can not walk any faster then that LOL I am always super happy with 20 minute miles.

I love all the grey hair comments. Mine has a lot of white. I color about every 5-10 years just for fun. This spring I felt the lets change things up and did red low lights and blond highlights. It was fun but I wont do it again or keep it up. Before that was 2018-19 maybe when it was fun colors. Half my hair was purple, blue, green and hot pink at different times. The under half, so it was subtle for being bright. But I do like my white. I like being my age. I dont like the aches and pains that have arrived, and I hate menopause. But I dont mind being me and my age and I dont understand the stress of trying to be 20. I didn't like 20 as much as now. I know so much more and am so much more comfortable with me. Oh well that's a
:soapbox:

Taking today off and taking family day trip. Wont be here past coffee time. I hope you all have a cool safe wonderful day.

I have a piece of word art I bought at least a decade ago, just "Hot hot hot" in a column. I have used it so many times that I really need something new. Can't find anything just right yet. I'll keep looking and try not to be overly judgmental. Nothing on the calendar the next couple days so if I really can chase out the spider webs and dust bunnies from the house I will have time for some reading and scrapping. I wish I were faster at making pages but that's just my "gotta be productive" personality; I actually enjoy the process.

I have been watching "Presumed Innocent" on Apple TV and have caught up to the released episodes. That gets me frustrated, when I want to keep going with the story and I can't. It doesn't bother me on regular network TV so I don't know why it should on a streaming service. So anyway now I have to find something else to watch until the next episode drops.

Everyone keep cool!
Hot word art, of course that triggered, the loony tune part of my brain which is most of what's left. My sweat is so hot it had heat stroke. It's so hot my sweat is sweating and my shoes are overflowing.

We watched Presumed Innocent & really enjoyed it. We tend to let everything run it's course & then binge watch in a couple days. We started Criminal MindsEvolution new season when about half the episodes had launched and now having to wait a week like we did in the olden days was excruciating LOL.

Hi all,

Chris @faerywings welcome back - we missed you and of course, Eva showed up and we ALL got pretty mischievous. You would have been shocked and disappointed if we hadn't - :dancingbfly::dancing6::rotfl::floorlaugh: We all l tried to behave, but nah - how much fun would that have. "When the cat's away and all that stuff". :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Glad you had a relaxing time and you read an entire book? Was it one of the new Prime freebies? Sending lots of good vibes (that doesn't sound exactly right) but whatever good I can send to the family as they go to court. Just going to court is so daunting, but in this case - wow.

I have to go back to the eye doctor sometime now and get some new glasses. I was bummed that I couldn't get all of that done at one time, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Can't win 'em all. Thanks for your hug and encouragement. I've been a little down but I always get back up. It just takes me a little longer some times. If it wasn't so danged hot, I could go out and get some garden therapy but it's just too hot. I tried waiting until evening, but then the bugs got me. I can't stand that.

Hugs to all and I hope you're all having a good day.
XOXO

Sometimes I want to kick myself when I can't crawl back out right away. yesterday started like that & it was raining besides, Photoshop still being a poop, I tried resetting preferences which I HATE to do, with no luck & finally uninstalled & reinstalled again. What really pulled me up was dgs called and wanted to know if he could come over. Seriously, is the pope Catholic ? Of course you can come over. At the b-day party hubs was told he was needed to help finish 4H project because it was due to be judged this week and son was leaving for work yesterday. This is the person who decided last-fall what the project was going to be and who it was going to be for and was going to get it done ahead of time. I guess last week was ahead of this week. He was covered in ketchup holding two empty ketchup bottles upside down with a dozen more on the floor, but it wasn't his fault. I don't care, any reason to spend some time with the matching piece of my heart is good time. Slight mishap, when dgs tipped over the varnish, there was a sheet on the sawhorses so it didn't land on garage floor. So, it was 90°m yesterday with humidity higher than that. They're in the house waiting 2 hours for varnish to dry. I went out to the garden for something , opened the door from house to garage & fumes almost knocked me over. I was choking & gagging by the time I went the 20 ft to get out of the garage. I came in squawking, you've heard me before, you have to ventilate the garage. It will be later????? was the reply , can't get anything blowing in on the project. Sometimes OCD perfection is too much! After the project dried they did open garage doors but I had to stand out in the driveway to watch them do the next coat.

Some people were very much more worser than others (yes Twin we have that in common too) . I may have been the very much most baddest of the bunch, but I have a lot of naughtiness to get caught up on.

I still polish the tarnish off my blonde hair from childhood. If I had pretty gray hair like some of you here, maybe I wouldn it , but I got way to long a preview of coming attractions during Covid, someone cleaned the sweet corn silk off in the dishwater that cleaned the remnants of the over browned supper. Eva, just channel your inner minion.....bah-nah-nah- IMHO if there aren't nuts in it, it's just bread with bananas in it. I'm not trying to incite a banana bread rebellion.
Speaking of shining in the sun......I told my DH.......see! I do have a halo! :lol23:

That would explain why I hear harp music every time I see your ani.

Tracy, thank you for talking me off the cliff Sunday night, sometimes I just need someone to tell me I can & I will. I think the results of the keg getting emptied the night before was still "hanging-" around. Very uncomfortable, more so than usual, dil was in bed with "flu", dgd said she slept in her fort & dad slept in her bed last night. Dil's brother & niece from Kentucky were there, they were leaving next morning. Her brother has the same kind of humor as mine so we kept the tone lighter, but couldn't be too loud. I guess there was trouble in paradise when the keg went dry. Dgd was oblivious and I spent quality time with her & dgs and we went home early & watched AGT

Finished the pesky FWP layout this morning & have it's partner almost done. I want to retake one pic when the sun gets around the garden more. It's gorgeous in the garden this morning, the humidity has dropped and there's a nice breeze.

@BrightEyes I guess I have diarrhea of the mouth again. After reading how calm you were about lockdown yesterday I marvel at how calm the people watching over us can be, lockdown in Jamaica would have me come home & never come out of the basement again. Yesterday afternoon dgs got us watching "Washington Down" while varnish was drying. After hubs took him back to mom's we finished it. holey moley!

Good late afternoon ladies... quick in and out to just say hello :wavinghello: and then I am off to play with my new photoshop for a bit. I was outside all morning trying to get the rest of the gardening done before it gets to dam hot out there!! Well after that I had to have a nice cool shower, just to bring my body temps down again. Sheesh I sure don't like this heat!! Poor Heather (DD) has not had much of a summer, its been rainy and humid and yucky and she is just about done with it!! She remembers why she comes out here every summer, just to escape that horrible humidity!! Anyway I will most likely be hiking tomorrow, so might not have a chance to pop in here again until Thursday. I hope you all have a wonderful day and are enjoying your summer!! :cowwaving:

Good afternoon.

I'm light years behind here - yes, Chris @faerywings we KNEW you'd be disappointed if we didn't spread some ketchup and other mayhem around. We just want to please you. :rotfl::floorlaugh::lol23:Also, being Jamaica during a governmental overthrow was pretty scary (at least for me). Chuck had traveled all over the world for business, and not much rattled him. He was in Ireland several times when the tanks were rolling down the streets, and he got on a jumbo jet the week after one was shot down over Korea. Same airline, same path. He said "lightning doesn't strike twice in the same spot". I was wrecked over it, but away he went. He'd had so many experiences that a little government overthrow didn't bother him. He said "well, we'll just get to spend a few extra days here." :lol23:We even went back again - that's unphased we were.

OK - NO to grey hair - for me! You all do what you want, but that's a NO for me. I DID go blonde several years ago, and so did Adrienne. Best decision I ever made (hair wise). My hairdresser in Florida did it very gradually and it wasn't a big shock. I keep it up myself about every 2 months - L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Permanent Hair Color, 9N Light Natural Blonde. Definitely not a big deal., even though my hair is very long and very curly.

Adrienne, Roger and I are going out to dinner tonight. Braden and Alyssa are in Florida visiting their dad, so we're all going to our favorite restaurant in town.

Hugs to everybody.
