It is going to break 32* today!! Gonna break out my t-shirt and shorts and maybe even my bathing suit! :pound: yeah, nope that isn't going to happen but wow, it will be nice not feeling like I am dying when I am outside with the pups.
My local news said that it will be over freezing in NYC for the first time since Christmas day. We are typically 5-8* colder than that so it will be interesting to see if we have gone longer. As a matter of fact, we have to have since I drove home in the snow on Christmas Eve and it was 30*

I spent the day puttering around, doing the usual. I finished scrapping a LO for the Word challenge here. I started it a few days ago, and finally had some time to finish it up. I used Lorie Davison's designs and they are gorgeous! Scott saw that I was tired and offered to cook dinner. He made a chicken and garlic/wine sauce over angel hair. So yummy and so happy that I didn't have to cook. I have great kids.

I am off food shopping and pharmacy today and then I have to call the hospital about a bill. I got charged over $500 for my last Breast MRI. My insurance should have covered it completely since I had reached my Maximum out of pocket limit. (How crazy-- one test was $10,000- which is why I get so insane when I see what this Admin is trying to do to our healthcare.)
That is never fun.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!!

Felis! Guess what I did yesterday?? I did some yoga poses!!! It was only 5 poses to help with neck and shoulder pain and 10 minutes long, but I did it! And do you want to know why? Because of *you.* I was about to skip it and then I thought about how I wanted us to encourage each other so I did it.
I saw your 52 Inspiration LO and I loved it. Good luck on reaching all of your goals. Does your week start on Monday? That makes more sense, IMO.
I did get a lot of snuggles with the dogs too. We feed W in her crate so while she was in there J brought me toys and I got to tug and chase her. When W is around, I can't do that because then the dogs play with each other. That made me and J happy.

Trudy- what a great way to spend your day, enjoying yummy food and time with your sisters. And that top sounds soooo cozy!! My mom got me a pair of fuzzy lounge pants for Christmas and I would wear them all of the time if they weren't bright blue and covered with llamas wearing scarves. LOL You and Rae have the best shopping karma!

Rae- oh yuck about getting all of that backlogged work sent over. You have amazon prime, right? That is where I have been finding my videos and this one that I did yesterday:
Yoga Therapy For Back Pain, Neck Pain & Stress Relief - Lindsey Samper https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B06XNNQBJG/ref=hover_title I did shoulders and neck yesterday and will try to do the one for lower back pain today. 10 minutes is easy to squeeze in and that gives me no excuse.
My SIL is doing Celan 30 and I wish I had the strength to do a more anti-inflammatory diet. Between taste preferences of my whole family and budget constraints, it makes it so darn hard. I am a firm believer in Baby Steps approach to just about everything and it sounds like you have your transition under great control. :first:

Jean- you beat us in getting over freezing! Yay!! We also got a tiny bit of snow last night but only enough to cover up the yellow snow. hahahah!!! That is too bad that the schools closed and that DH missed his time with the guys.

Trudy- I bet the weather hurts Heather like it does me. I hope that she doing ok with the boys and having to be inside.
Wait, I thought you Canadians had to wait for weeks to see a Dr? ;) Glad that you were able to get seen so quickly, bladder infections are terrible. Feel better!

Waving hi to Nancy- hope that you are ok!

Hugs and love to everyone

good morning - I feel I have finally started the new year. I cooked for the first time, did chores around the house that I had been neglecting and finalized a lot of the excursions for our upcoming cruise. My DIL's mother Celeste is super organized and has gone on many cruises so she and I have been having many conversations and updating each other. It is fun especially now that it is mostly done. She was telling me that she was not able to book some stuff because the credit cards did not have all the names on it yet when I went on and did it my customer service rep was able to do it all. So I told Celeste that my rep said just call back and get another person and that they can do it so she did and now we are all set. Time goes so fast so it is good to get this done early and now. And my Devils are on their break so I don't have to see them have goals taken away by refs or linesmen and then lose the game. It does not matter what anyone of them says about how you have to put it behind you and while they do it just slows the games and changes the momentum of the game. But I am enjoying the Vegas Golden Knights and how well they are doing. My son and DH are now on the mend. Both of them went to urgent care on Sunday. My son thought he had a kidney stone but turns out just a slight tear in his intestines that is healing. Now my DH has sinus infection and cough so he is on antibiotics, an inhaler and cough syrups. Men just get sicker than women. Then my son researches online (always a bad idea LOL) to find out he cant eat spicy food, gas causing food and should eat more fiber and suggests I go to the store and get new stuff. I laugh. And told him the doctor says he is healing so he is okay. The internet can be a dangerous thing.

Chris it is so nice to have this mini heat wave with temps above freezing. My house just feels so much warmer. Hope grocery shopping goes well. How wonderful that Scott cooked. Sounds yummy too! Enjoyed hearing how well Scott and Leah did with the flat tire. And so glad that your mom's party went to well. I cant believe anyone does not have an EZPass it makes driving in the East so easy. If I had to wait in toll booth lines - what a waste of time. Your mom will be so happy!

Felis glad that you have this cool yoga going. It really is fun and good for a body. I did it for a while and I liked it. It is always about finding the time.

Trudy your holidays with the kids sounds so fun! And now lunch with the sisters how great! Tell your MG that I have been cheering on the Bruins. Looks like now that they are healthy they are really playing well.

Rae hope things are going well with Bailey. And today on Live with Kelly and Ryan they talked about the Keto diet. Kelly was pretty funny as she loved you could eat fats. Congrats on your shopping karma and send some this way!

Jean I am not surprised at how well your book was received. When my mom got ours it was wonderful and I love it now. That was such a great idea to give it to the Library.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I slept like the dead last night, went to bed at 9:30 feeling pretty yucky and woke up this morning at 7:15 am feeling much better. Only up once to use the washroom instead of the 3 or 4 times that have been happening the last few days. I was very lucky to get in to see my Dr. yesterday! When I called they said oh you won't be able to see her for at least a week, then I told them what I thought I had and they said we will squeeze you in at 11:50 am. Hooray, I guess they know how awful a bladder infection can get if you leave it long enough. Anyway my dr. was happy to see me and commented that I was a shell of my former self and that I looked great! She couldn't believe that I lost all that weight just doing the Keto WOE. We talked about my DD, she always asks about her and then I was on my way with my prescription. Got home and snuggled up on the couch and watched an episode of "The Crown". Got my layout finished for the Word Challenge finished and just relaxed the rest of the day. I would like to get back to the pool and do my laps, but today I just do not have the energy, it is amazing what an infection can do your body, I feel like a wet rag! But hopefully the pills kick in today and I will back to normal soon. (whatever normal is) LOL.

Chris - So happy to hear that your temps are warming up finally! It will feel like summer for you !! :becky: I loved your page for the word challenge, aren't Lorie Davison's products amazing!! What an imagination she has! So happy that she is now at the "O"! Scary that so many scrapping sites have closed their doors, but a bonus for us I guess! Heather is doing better now I think as Jonah and Mason were both home all day yesterday, it was a snow day for them and they got a ton of heavy wet snow. Sounded like the whole area was shut down. No school, highways closed the whole works, but at least Jonah was there to help her out with the boys. Hopefully today school is back and Jonah is able to get to work. What a sweet son you have, offering to make you such a delicious dinner! WTG on the Yoga poses also, it really helps when you can encourage each other to do it! Hope that Felis continues with her yoga too!

:hello: to all of you who pop in here today, I will try to catch up with you all later on, right now I am off to get my second cup of coffee and perhaps watch another episode of "The Crown" I am hooked LOL. Oh BTW Chris did you find the mini series "Godless"? Its about the old West and of course lots of shooting and cursing but it is really good! The main female character is from Downton Abby a very different role for her also. gotta go :bolt:

What?! So you all are start your week in Sunday?! But the word weekEnd come from english, we even use the same word for that, before the movies we don't had specific word for that. :jaw: How is possible to start your week at the weekend, SO weird.
Chris, that you was inspired to do yoga, is awesome and funny, because I would never have started if wasn't Rae and her New Year Healthy Thread :becky:, I procrastinated this from years. I also do short session from 10-20 minutes, and hope to find more time in future! I'm so pathetic and unflexibility for my age. It's not like I was stopped for awhile, I'm never been physically active. Because of my eyes I was released from physical classes at school. And never started anything after that, except the dog's walks, but after I turned 31 this is not enough anymore.
Scott is so nice boy, you are raise wonderful children. I'm glad to see you happy about the weather, hope your feel better physically now! Fingers crossed that you'll could resolved easily this problem with the health insurance!

Nancy, so glad to see you back to normal! I hope your men will get better soon! It's exciting that you are organised your cruise!

Trudy, so bad, this bladder infection is very unpleasant. I hope you'll be better soon! Isn't it going worse from the pool, or this is just a myth?! I'm so happy you had great time with your sisters! This top sounds cool, indeed! I was gothic in my college years, so now I compensate with wearing of multi colors, so I would love it! Only difference is that I choose clothes with animals.

Rae, I'm sure you've done your yesterday job, but I hope you have a easyly day today!

Jean, It's must be so annoying that you have the senior center closed for few weeks, but at least kids are happy, because of the schools! I don't understand why both are connected?! But probably is good idea less people to drive at dangerous roads.
Oh, honestly I wasn't thought when your weekly pages started. This about the calendars is so strange! Better that I understand this from you girls, or I could to ridicule myself badly if I was share it first with others.

Good morning, ladies. I was tired this morning as Taz got me up a few times last night, wanting to go outside. I am going to have to pick up his food bowl after 8 pm (I was doing that for awhile and then got lazy and stopped) b/c this past wk he has been wolfing down food late at night and of course this means waking me up to go outside in the middle of the night.

We are waiting to hear from Bailey on how the last few days have been. I inadvertently mentioned my aunt's passing (in reference to some photos my cousin is sending me of the family, so I can copy some for her), not realizing that Jen had never mentioned it to her. So she was a bit distressed on the phone and the next day she was cranky and not talkative to Jen so we are waiting to hear how things are. The centre can now see how badly she copes with death. She didn't really know my aunt and hadn't seen her since she was about 10 or 12. But, she spins out of control with this kind of thing and hopefully they are working with her to teach her coping skills. That's always been my wish for her, to acquire the needed skills of coping with life b/c there will always be negative/sad things happening in the world and we can only control how we handle it. Jen called yesterday but they didn't tell her anything and B didn't want to talk. Hopefully today she hears something.

I worked a bit late last night and today will be busy (but not quite as crazy). Then the rest of the wk is a bit better. It seems to be my work pattern so its not too bad since I am expecting it and know I just have to get thru the first 2 days of the wk and then its a bit slower.

Chris - hope you get the bill straightened out. Good for you for doing a bit of yoga. Unfortunately us Canadians don't get much in our Amazon Prime so don't get the video you suggested but there is a yoga beginner video I can watch on our prime. Your video does look good.

Nancy - ha ha about your son wanting you to go to the store to get him different foods. Sorry to hear your guys are both having health problems right now. Men are such babies when not feeling good :)

Hope everyone else is having a great day. I'm getting back to work.

Felis & Trudy - looks like we cross-posted this morning with each other.

Felis - glad I inspired you with my healthy thread to get into yoga. Now you need to keep Chris and I in line :) BTW, to me the wkend is Fri night, Sat & Sun, although technically it is just Sat and Sun.

Trudy - glad you are taking it easy. Hope your infection clears up quickly. I haven't seen The Crown yet but have heard it is a bit slow but very good so its on my list to watch eventually.

Ok, off I go.......

Still above freezing here, but still snow on the ground and gray skies. Makes me feel very lazy. I'm giving a talk on Saturday and it needs lots of updating from its last time, so should be doing that.

Chris, if we can keep each other encouraged and supported in things like yoga we're doing really well. Nice to think about. One form of support is accountability through stating goals and reporting to someone on them. So, keep it up with the yoga and let us know how it feels. I'll echo the others on what good kids you have. Scott's dinner sounds yummy too. I know you'll persevere and get that bill sorted out.

Nancy, good to hear you're feeling better and back to getting things done. Sorry about the sick men in the house. Sure hope they get better quickly. The cruise will be a great success with all the work you all have put into planning.

Trudy, hope the meds have the infection tamed! I know what trouble bladder infections can be but symptoms usually stop quickly when treated. At least you got the sleep you needed.

Felis, I know I spent most of my life not knowing other places have calendars starting the week on Monday, so no surprise it was the opposite for you. I'm pretty sure there is/was a designer with calendar products made either way. And hurray that you started with your yoga too.

Rae, cheers for getting your workload done and getting toward the easier part of the week. Poor B with such coping problems. At least this time she can get help, hopefully.

Hope everyone is coping today!

Hi again everyone... I just came back from Walmart to pick up some photos that I ordered, DH wanted his green tea for the tassimo and I needed some shampoo that is less expensive there then anywhere else. Got home and noticed a voice message left on the home phone from MIL. They just got a bill from some sexy clothing site and wondered WTH was that all about?? Apparently it was purchased through PayPal which they have no idea what that even is LOL. I told them for goodness sake don't pay it and get hold of their provider as they might have to change their email address. What a PITA for two 80 somethings to deal with! So I had to laugh when MIL asked me what are pasties?? Then she roared with laughter when I told her you put them on your nipples :becky: At least we got a good laugh out of it.:pound: FIL needs to stay off his computer as I think he agrees to anything that is sent to him these days :mmph: Oh well hopefully this will make them a bit more cautious.

Nancy - Ugh two men that are sick in the house, what could be worse? They really are big babies aren't they? At least mine is anyway. Thanks for cheering on the Bruins for us, we were very disappointed that they did not beat the Pens the other night, but oh well you can't win them all. Hope that the officiating is much better for your Devils when they get back to play! It is very frustrating for sure! Tell your son if wants different food then he should go out and get it. LOL he should cook it too!! I know I am mean. :becky:

Felis - It does seem strange that we start our week on Sunday, but as far as I know it has always been that way for us. I think that the pool thing is a myth, I haven't been to the pool since before Christmas and doubt very much that it would make it worse for me to go there. I just have no energy to do the laps right now, but maybe next week? Glad to hear that you are out of your Gothic stage in life, there are so many beautiful colours out there to just stick to Black or Grey all the time. Nothing wrong with Gothic, it just has never been my thing LOL. Hope that you enjoy your yoga sessions and that you and Chris can keep each other motivated to do it!

Rae - Poor B, so sad to know that she has such a hard time dealing with real life, I keep praying for her to get the guidance and help that she needs. Sorry that Taz is waking you up in the middle of the night too. Not fair, its bad enough to have to get up to pee ourselves, let alone to let the dog out to pee too LOL.

Jean - Yes isn't it awful that a simple infection can get so very bad so quickly! Hoping that the pills kick in tonight and I start to have more energy soon. Good luck with your talk and getting your info all updated for it. You will do an amazing job I am sure!

Well better decide what is for dinner tonight, last night was flank steak with mushrooms and peppers, broccoli and cauliflower. Potato for my DH but none for me, funny but I still have no desire to eat those starchy foods. Hope everyone has a great night!

Good morning, girls!
It's rainy and gray out there and don't help to my sad mood. I know sometimes I act stupid, but it is what it is. Here is the point, my dad bought new car yesterday. We know that will happen, because he spoke for that and collect money past few months, but I just not expected to be so soon. Of course, I pretend on happy with him, because he is so exciting and this is important for him. We all want he to be safe when drive to work every day, and the old car has many problems, so it is better that he change it before the winter finally getting serious.
But the old car have many damages, so they will 'kill it' and sold out for parts. It wouldn't exist anymore, and so many memories will gone with it. This car take us to the hardest moment in my life, to the funeral of my most beloved and back to the emptiness; this car was scene of one huge scandal and many tears; BUT also it take us to few vakantions, many laughter and favorite events. And now it's just finished with it! So sad.
The new car comes with it's memories (it is new for us, but not brand new) and probably also is sad for her previous owner, who knows what secrets ceeps (see this is why I hate to buy things second hands, but with the cars we just don't have other way). So I try to be nice and to like it. I know we will create many precious moments together!
But here is the problem, no matter how happy I could be, no matter how luck can have, even if my biggest dreams comes true tomorrow, I just can't be completely happy anymore, because my beloveds are gone, they are just a star dust and raindrops, like this outside. And the last pieces of their touch, last keepers of memories, disappears one by one. Will come moment when nothing will prove that they were been real.

Today I'll post with my wake up, because I'm very blue. And you don't deserve to start your day with blue notes, so it's better this post to be last for yesterday, than I to post is late today, when everybody will see it first when opened the thread. Feel totaly free to ignore it and stick to my sunny post from up. I just needed to share my thoughts.

Trudy, very worrying about your MIL, here have crime scheme called 'telephone cheaters', they call to adult persons and pretend of doctor or even policeman and convince them that they or their child are in trouble and need fast to pay some big amount for bill or fine. We was surprised how many people was cheated this way, even after the police catches the first and the cases was show in every TV news chanel, affiliated persons from the families of the criminals, was cheated few more persons.

Rae, don't blame yourself for this mistake. This is why these seminar about addiction and families are. They will prepare your family how to act around this thin glass, that your daughter is now. And I deeply hope she will become stronger every day!

Jean, fingers crossed that the weather will become warmer till your Saturday meeting, it will be sad if the cold keep people at home!

Nancy and Chris, ::grouphug
