CHEERY O
Good morning and happy Tuesday, our last day of january. eek!

I have a question for you ladies. If there are any men reading, you might want to avert your eyes- Female TMI Warning!

How the freak long does it take to go through menopause and is there any freaking way to hurry it up??????
For the last 7-8 years or so, I have been totally wonked out. Then when I got really sick with Lyme, i thought that a lot of the issues had to do with the disease messing with my endocrine system. Now that I am in remission, it seems to be "better" in some ways-- as in it is more regular. But OUCH!!!!!! Every month seems to get more and more painful. Thank god I didn;t have to work yesterday because I ended up taking Midol and went to bed with a heat pack. I am 43, and have NO need for any of this. How do i make it stop!? LOL

Today is going to be a catch up day for me- baby sitting before and after school, food shopping and Ii didn't get to scan any pics yesterday. I also don't know if my mom is coming up tomorrow either, She has been so sick and I made her go to the dr yesterday. They sent her for a chest x-ray to make sure she doesn't have pneumonia. she has been sick for over a month now and has been to the dr twice. For her that is unheard of, she hates going to the dr.

I am also keeping my fingers crossed for my car- its in the shop for new brakes and hopefully that is all they find wrong with it. My poor credit card..... :(

Tip on Tuesday
Don't let YMG use furniture polish near the kitchen linoleum floor unless you like skating along in your socks.

Maureen-- huge huge hugs to you. I totally know that feeling of anger/sadness/relief/fear/more relief and so on. :(
Its so easy to say that she is in a better place- but it is where she chooses to be.
i truly hope that she can give up custody for her DD. *smh*

gotta get going.....

Love and hugs to all of you!

Chris, best thing i ever did was get a hysterectomy. my 40s were absolute HELL! i was being driven crazy by pain. (got the Fibro when i was 41, and the Female Parts were going bad at the same time.) i never really had the hot flash thing, ever, but getting rid of the female pain was a great gift to myself. good riddance to bad body parts!

up at the Crack of Dawn again. 5 a.m. my nose hurts! hopfully this resolves itself soon, or i may have to have it cut off. good riddance to bad body parts!

going out in the 55 degrees later today to look at some furniture with my fave SIL. should be fun and a few much-needed laughs. the SUN will also be shining. what a great way to end JANUARY in the northeast!!

enjoy your Tuesday, everyone.

Good morning. Chris, I was so lucky. While waiting to travel for Sydney, I stopped having periods. It was a stressful time and I had lots of hot flashes that summer...which I thought was all stress related. Both Mom and my maternal grandmother went through menopause for years... But after 4 months, I was done. Hope it ends soon.

Good morning Phylis. I hate not being able to sleep. But that happens to me way too often. We hit 66 degrees here yesterday and we are supposed to get in the mid-50's again today. It even smelled like spring yesterday. Absolutely beautiful weather although they are now warning us that we don't have enough water in the ground for planting this spring. For once, I am living in the moment and glad that the weather is like it is.

Maureen, I'm so sorry. What a rough time you are having.

Off to get ready for work...I have a 7:30 meeting...which is 30 minutes earlier than I normally get there. No big deal if the kids don't have school but it sure upsets the routine on days like today. Oh well...

Have a good day all.

Chris.....................sweetie....you know I DON'T HAVE A GOOD ANSWER for this as I have been moaning about this to you guys since I came here!! buy a book about menopause.....go to the LIST OF SYMPTOMS.....I HAVE THEM ALL!!!!

But after that graphic message.....I will say....I have been going through this mess for about 7 years.....but the last 6 months, my "friend" has eased a lot....she is not visiting but once every 3 months now...and she is not nearly the "BITCH" that she used to be.....

Do you take ibuprofen?? My Dr put me on 600mg ibuprofen tabs (3 from over the counter bottles) every 4 hours, and that allows the blood vessels to loosen...blood flows easier and there is a lot less pain....no clots either....

good morning...stopping in before i head out to run a few errands...gotta go get a few groceries...then get some crickets for my frogs....we now have 2 hamsters..dunno if i mentioned that or not?? the girls saved up enough money to buy them....they are so excited about them...and i must admit the little critters are pretty dang cute LOL....

umm lets see im gonna try to run today....no where in particular just around my own yard LOL we have 6 acres....so i figure do that a couple of times haha....ummm what else what else....i dunno my whole body is SORE?! ahhh exercise LOL makes me want to stop but i know i CANT!!!!

I am back....

WHO LET THE DEMONS LOOSE THIS MORNING?????

Oh my word these kids are terrible today!!!! I just spent 30 minutes putting all the clothes back in the drawers.....yes, folding them all over again.....they decided to throw them ALL...EVERY PIECE out!!! not to mention all the fussing!!! GUESS WHO WAS IN TIME OUT FOR 30 MINUTES WHILE I FOLDED THE CLOTHES AND PUT THEM BACK IN THE DRAWER!!!???

:director: <---------- I need this today.

Phylis...sweetie....after all the NON SLEEP..ya wanna come deal with my "littles"???:eek2: NOOOOOO just kidding.....:pound: HOpe you get to sleep some...take a nap!!!!

Kristy..........RUN RUN RUN as fast as you can...cuz you can't catch me I'm the ginger........ooohhhh nevermind......you could catch me easy...I am old and rickety and can't run fast anymore :hurt: GOOD FOR YOU SWEETIE!!! wish I had the energy!!

Chris...back to you...wish I could tell you the magic cure....seems my Mom and grandmother were not bogged down by this crap....so I guess I got it all....some women say hysterectomy...some say NO it's worse.....so I think that we are just destined for what ever Mother Nature has in store for us...sadly....LOTS OF HUGS and LOADS OF SYMPATHY!!!!!!!

 You ladies are the *bestest*

Phyllis- i wish there was some reason for me to get a hysterectomy! It would be worth it! (Wold it make my stomach a bit flatter too? I mean, there would be less "junk" in there to the flab could kind of collapse in on itself? :p)

Nana- omg! That smilie is hysterical! Thankfully, my moods haven't been to horrendous, its just the pain. I'll have to try ibuprofen today, that might help.

**REALLY GROSS TMI WARNING**

Are the clots supposed to hurt even worse than the cramps? I am getting stabbing pains from them. Ugh!!

**Safe to Read Zone**

Phyllis- hope that you have a great day out and about today. We are supposed to hit near 60*!!

Linda S- good luck at your mtg. Enjoy "spring" :hippie:

Kristy- aww, hamsters are cute! Have fun with your errands and your running around the yard LOL

From yesterday:

Linda S- hope you had time to scrap, if not.... there are a bunch of amazing ones getting posted tomorrow.

Donna- good for you to exercise and meet with friends! It sure feels like spring here, so I will send you some sunshine today :)

J-- slow and steady wins the race! I always love your pages, so it doesn't matter how long they take. They are enjoyed by so many of us. Hope you slept better last night too.
Oh yeah-- the photos are all so amazing! Ii really need her to teach me all of her family recipes because if anything happened to her, so many of them would be lost.

Phyllis-- make sure that you delete those email drafts, you don't want to send on by accident. Good for you tho- to get the crap out of your head. I used to do that with letters "back int he day.":kev:

Hi Fran!! we all miss you!!

Katherine- woot!! Glad you delurked. This is the best way to start your day, in the ooo's! I can't say I blame you for hitting snooze, but hopefully the rest of your day was very productive.

nana-- it must be the "spring air" or something-- cuz we have all been getting rid of clutter in our house too. Scott especially. Holy cow, that boy has thrown out/recycled probably close to 2 garbage cans of stuff. You can actually see his floor!! I hit the art supply/junk closet yesterday. Gary worked in the room upstairs.... not I just need to get cait on board. I even through out 5 icky old containers of ice cream from;last summer today hahahah!!

Eva-- oh no!!!! Viruses (virii??) are the worst. Everyone in my fam hates to use my computer b/c I have a pen and tablet. Hope YMG gets your working quickly. But-- at least you have 90210 LOL

Kristy-- that is what i am afraid of-- that Ravyn needs a sister. I simply don't have the $$ for a new puppy at this point. And my heart is still sad for my first fur-baby :( I want to see if she gets better by the spring, and then we'll have to see.

Trudy! That page is too cute!!!!!

Maureen ::grouphug

Hi Clara!!!
Ack!! I didn't see the pics-- good thing this isn't before the wedding LOL

K-BAMMMMMM!!!!!! I saw Kaylyn b-days and pages-- OMG she is beyond adorable and getting so big. Hope that your new baby comes soon and easily!!

Catzilla says hi and that means it is time for me to sign off LOL

Morning everyone!! Dark and :rain: here today, my day off I love Tuesdays!!
th8079e12e.gif
I get the house to myself and can do what ever I want !! However I will be baking a birthday cake today for my MG a couple of days early, but we are having his parents for supper so thought I may as well get it all over and done with. Making Devils Food Chocolate Cake with green peppermint icing. His favorite, not mine, but still a good cake!! yummm!!

Chris - the only thing I can think of to help you is what Phylis did, but that is pretty drastic measures!! I am like Nana Linda and have been going through menopause for quite a long time now. Things have really started to get better, with hardly any hot flashes during the day anymore and only a few times a night when I have to throw off the covers.

Phylis - I am so glad for you that you get to spend the day with your fav SIL and in great weather too!! Have a wonderful time and hope that your nose trouble improves!! I would hate to see you cut if off!!! LOL to getting rid of bad body parts :pound:

LindaS - Boooo Hisss on early meetings!! How dare they upset your routine!! Hope its at least a productive one!! Enjoy your spring like weather!! Perhaps just a few days of rain and your water problems will improve?? At least rain doesn't need a shovel!!

Nana Linda - We are so going through all the same symptoms although like I said mine have subsided a bit. Hope your little demons get their halos back this morning!! Would hate for you to have to spend the whole day folding clothes!! Wish I could give you a hand my friend!! Try to have a great day!

Kristy - I can just see you running around your property LOL hope the muscle aches get better!! Don't give up you are doing so awesome girl!!

Well I am off to the gallery to take a peek around all the beauty here and then I better get some housework done....or not?? I might just stay here and scrap a bit!! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!!

7 years!?!?!?!!!!!

You gotta be kidding?! I will not do this for another 5-6 years! As if it was enough with the monthly visits you have to endure for 30+ years. Where do I resign from womenhood? Is it too late to get a transgender op?

YUUUUUUUUUMMMM Trudy!!
medium-smiley-068.gif
send me a piece....HE WON'T NOTICE :bounce:

Enjoy your day off sweetie......sorry about the rain...we are SUNNY and getting WARMER by the minute....OUTSIDE FOR THE DEMONS THIS AFTERNOON hehe!!! They are still in MOODS...but nap time is upon us...so I hope that will help!!!

Chris......YES....the clots are the cause of much of the pain.....I was apprehensive at first about all the ibuprofen..I thought it thinned the blood and would make me bleed more...but that's not the case......it does THIN the blood....being there will be little or no clots.....and slows the flow A LOT..as soon as any sign of "HER" showing up, I start taking it EVERY 4 HOURS while I am awake for the first two or three days.....HUGE HUGE difference on the pain!!!!!!!!

Eva....Yep....nearly 7 years for me too.....but like Trudy..things are finally starting to ease....NO TURNING BACK NOW SWEETIE...on womanhood that is.....Just take pride in knowing that NO BUTTHEADED MAN COULD DEAL WITH ANY OF THIS!!! WE ARE WOMEN AND WE ROCK!!!!! HEHE!! :bounce:

Funny that you should talk about menopause Chris...in one of my non family related thoughts recently, I wondered how many of the posters here were in that time of life.

Periods lasting one week were always the bane of my existence but I never did have cramps except back in my first months as a 13 yr old. Otherwise periods were just a nuisance.

My only new menopause symptom was beyond heavy flow. I could not be away from a bathroom for more than 45 minutes with tamponS, and yes that's plural and a pad. My younger female Dr. said if it starts to interfere with your life... I could not do the outreach part of my job unless I was sure to wear black slacks with all of the above. The dr's option was a d&c...uh no thank you.

But that was only for about half a year, and otherwise I almost no other symptoms. No hot flashes, no night sweats, no rage but on occasion I couldn't think straight. It was also during this time, my mid 50s, that I quit a 'good' job because I couldn't cope with it any more. We had a very abusive boss, and you never knew if you were going to be the 'bad kid' and get reamed out. My time never came during 10 years but...

Echoing what Nana Linda says...when this stage of womanhood is over, you are ready to live your own life on your own terms and it feels wonderful! There is a great sense of self and belief and knowledge of who you are and what you need. No more putting up with anyone's bs. If you need a divorce, a marriage repair, a new job, or just a new hair color - you KNOW you can take the steps to do it, and know you're worth it!

Me now? I'm done smudging my home, and cleaning cleaning clearing out. I have chosen to be out of the loop re my daughter and yet there still is a lot of grief which is so so heavy to feel. The relief, the grief. I've got em both big time but at least that tells me I'm feeling. The tears come and go but my one friend said tears are prayers. I know I need them to heal myself.

Back to more cleaning...clear the house, clear the mind, clear the soul.

Sweet Maureen.... you should write a book!! What an inspiration you are to all of us ladies here!! My thoughts are with you as you clear your soul, please know how much we all care for you!!
