What a morning!! And I *honestly* mean that in a good way. *Mark this date in history*

In spite of all of the insane news coming out of the US Govt which I will not discuss here :tape: I slept really well. W let me have a big cup of coffee before she needed to go out. Cait doesn't have classes today but was up around 6.30 so we had a very funny morning visit with the rats and Floyd. I feel so bad for him being the only cat left. I also feel guilty about how much I disliked him for how he treated Merlin when he was sick and peed on my carpets. I got some snuggles in with him too. Then I went downstairs, snuggled with Gary and then all of the dogs.Cait came down for coffee and we all played with the pups some more.

Now I am somewhat behind schedule but well worth it.

I am steam cleaning the carpets today. W had a few accidents and J had thrown up a few times. I am only doing a quick one since I did them really well before the holidays. Then I have to go to the Post Office b/c my mail carrier was too lazy to come to the door to have us sign for a certified letter. I need to go to the bank too so that will be much of my afternoon.

(and I will do all of that while trying to not worry that my country is falling to pieces in the meantime)

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!

sorry that I have to make these super quick :sorry:

Felis- sorry to hear about the snow turning to mud. Bet the dogs had a great time on their walk. I knew you would be happy to hear the cat made it home. They are smart and resourceful, more than humans give credit to.

Nancy- so far we only have flurries and I hope that it stays that way. anything happening by you?
Wow, that's a NICE haul for Brock Boeser.
Shopping went ok-there some store brand items that are really good so I made sure that I got them- they have really good frozen french fries. :hungry: Gary would do that too -- buy stuff that I didn't need but still very nice that your DS did that for you.

Trudy-I hope that the roads and parking lots didn't flood too much. I would say that I can't believe that your Gary drove on the roads like that but I know my Gary would have done the same. men!
We watched Episode Two last night. I like how a lot of the questions that I had after E 1 are being answered slowly.

Rae- what a nice time you had with Bailey. Sounds like she is progressing too. Thatis wonderful to hear. Good luck with your work. I always feel like I am so far behind on CT work here as well.

Jean- This was the first time in a while that your DH had his Hum and Strum? That must have been fun for him and to have the group grow too, very gratifying!

Must run! :bolt:

good morning - woke up to find the grass all covered with snow. It is so pretty. Luther is so happy! I took Luther and we went down cat alley and he was so happy as a black cat was there and he could bark. And bark he did. Then met up with Wilbur and his owner. It was a crack up as their cat Buffy was walking along with the dog. How cute is that. Well not so cute for Luther as he was not having anything to do with Buffy and poor Wilbur did not understand. The Loki came by and wow what excitement on the block - I think every indoor dog was barking. But it was good. Lisa who walks Loki was saying what I say about my DH they are just like grandparents and let the dog do what ever they want and then when we walk them we have to retrain them all over again. Made me smile. The boys were happy with dinner last night. Just steak and potatoes but it had a dijon mustard mushroom gravy that they really loved. Always good when that happens. And finally hockey is back tonight. My team plays in Buffalo and then again at home on Thursday against the Flyers and Saturday against the Penguins. A rough stretch of games. They need to get their confidence back. Taylor Hall is back and my two goalies are also back so that is good. They practiced yesterday so good luck to my team.

Chris who cannot buy yummy french fries. Glad the shopping went well. And what a great way to start your morning with pets and kids and snuggling with your Gary! My snow is melting already but we may get a tad more this afternoon but just a dusting.

Trudy wow now rain on top of the snow. We had flood warning too a while back as with the ground frozen and the water could not soak into the ground. Hope your were spared the flooding. Glad that your MG made it out safely! Have fun with Stormy! and the kids too! I totally agree it is insane how much pro athletes make as compared to the real heroes, like your Gary and your son who is serving.

Rae your time with Bailey sounds lovely. How lucky is she that you know her style and bring her cool clothes. I bet Jen well everyone is excited to have Bailey for an overnight visit. That must mean she is doing pretty well. Good luck with all the work this week! Have fun at the hockey game!

Jean I think it is so awesome that your DH has found this group to play with. Sometimes I think it is hard for men when they retire to find a hobby without needing their wives.

Felis waving hi!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'll be busy keeping up with my work today so I can get out of here at 5:30 so we can head downtown to the hockey game tonight with the tickets we won at Xmas time. We're in row 6 so D is pretty excited to have such great seats. Driving and parking is a nightmare anywhere downtown so we'll take the Skytrain (above ground transit system) which should take about 1 hour or so. D will probably eat something there but I'll have a big lunch and then snack when I get home later.

Forgot to mention it yesterday but I got my cholesterol results....all normal!!!! In fact, the results are even slightly better than they were 4 yrs ago (the last testing before this recent abnormal one in Dec). So, this tells me that I'm on the right track now. Another funny thing is, I've mentioned that lots of aches and pains are decreased or gone since switching to keto, then paleo/AIP and now the latest pain to disappear is an ache at the top of my neck, just under my jaw. I assume its related to my thyroid/gland or something, maybe scar tissue from my shoulder/neck injury yrs ago. Whatever it was, it only hurt when I touched it, but it never went away, it was always there and I could feel the momentary pain as I ran my fingers over it as I rubbed on my face/neck cream each day. So, yesterday I just realized that the pain is gone. I've been poking and rubbing at the area and there is no pain. Isn't that crazy??? My body is sure loving my change in lifestyle :)

Prayers and well wishes please for Jen today. She had talked to her supervisor and was told it was ok to not work wkends for 3 mths while B is at the center but then yesterday, she was told they were going to demote her hours to part time which means she won't be able to afford to live on her own, she will have to look for a new job and maybe lose her apartment. I told her to talk to the boss today and see if a compromise can be made, maybe working some wkends for the next 2 mths until B is out of treatment. I pray she gets it worked out. She is so stressed about it. We may have to take over and go up each Sat to pick her up and bring her home for wkend visits (which she gets now) and then bring her back on Sundays. If this happens I may have to take a break from CTing for a bit b/c our lives will be crazy busy. Also, we are prepared that Jen may have to move back home again. I sure wish we had a suite in the basement for her. With only one shower and a small kitchen its hard to share living quarters in this kind of floor plan but we'll have to make do of course. So, we'll see how it goes. Even if they come to some kind of compromise, her future with this company looks doubtful. So....any good thoughts are appreciated for her.

Chris - sounds like you had a wonderful morning with family and pets!

Nancy - hope our Canucks win tonight :) D is usually bad luck when he attends a home game LOL.

Everyone else....hope all is well. I'd better to get to work now so I can hopefully keep up and finish it all before we head out later to the game. Have a wonderful day everyone.

We got just enough snow to get the driveway plowed this morning, but nothing bad. Probably warmer tomorrow. After doing page with photo of me long ago, last night I did one with DH in an even older photo. Hard to remember either of us looked like that for real!

Chris, such a delightful morning for you! Glad you started out that way and did well at the store yesterday. Hope you plan to be in bed asleep by 9:00 tonight or your BP will go through the roof if you watch TV.

Nancy, bet your snow doesn't last long, but nice Luther got such a good walk in it. Good luck and hope the injured players are back to normal in the Devils game.

Oh, Rae, of course we'll pull for a better outcome for Jen. Don't want to say bad things about her employers, but couldn't they have been .pfront with her in the first place? Whatever the outcome looks like you have more coming on your plate. You are so good at dealing with things, so know you can handle it. Wonderful news on the cholesterol too! And the latest pain relief. You have done so wonderfully. Maybe that will help with the newest developments.

Felis, we'll think about you with the end of month push and look forward to your posts after.

Trudy, hope your weather is good and enjoying the grands.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ok...I'm here on the right day now. Good evening ladies!

Chris, really...the mailperson didn't have the energy to make it to your front door! What's up with that? Crazy world we live in. And both kids are out of school now, is that right? How many dogs do you have? We only have the one...she is 14 now but she is hanging in there. We are bringing home another one this spring. She will be a cross between a Newfoundland and a poodle. Supposed to be around 70-90 pounds as an adult. Dakota is about 15 pounds. This will be quite an adventure. I cannot wait!

Nancy, I swear that this dog is going to be trained properly. No people food, going to obedience classes. My real goal is for her to be a Therapy Dog. Of course, we haven't met her yet (she isn't even born) so we will see if she has the right temperament for that role. But I'm hopeful.

Rae, I don't think that we have really "met". I used to be quite chatty. But old age and young kids caught up with me and scrapping fell by the wayside. I'm determined to find things to do that I enjoy in 2018 and this was for sure one of them so I'm sure we will get better acquainted in the days ahead.

Felis, I'm often overwhelmed. Wish it were only at the end of the month. Will get to know you better in February.

Hello Jean. Not fun to have enough snow to plow the driveway...but glad that it won't last long. Ours melted late last week and now it's clear. Hope it stays that way. I'm ready for spring.

Good to talk to all of you.

PS---I did see that we still do the comment challenge so I'm trying to figure out how many comments I can commit to during February. Shaun has Districts for swimming this weekend, Sydney has band contests next weekend, Syd and I go to Memphis for soccer the weekend of the 17th. I better be conservative this time. Don't want to feel defeated my first month back.
