Hey there and good morning!

I am slowly but surely chipping away at the list of things that need to get done. Today is catching up on the phone calls to Drs/Vet/NJ Health Insurance that I put off all last week. Top that off with needing to make a phone call to my mom, and well- it's going to be a long day at my desk :D
Hopefully, the worst one (NJ Health insurance, *not* my mom hahahahaha!!!) will be easier than I expect. The kids have their health insurance benefits starting over the next two weeks so their state-funded insurance can be canceled. I am keeping all of my fingers and toes crossed that I can keep mine but if not, I'll figure something out. But I am not looking fwd to being on hold and listening to that godawful music. First World Problems to be sure.

Caitlyn is back to work today after being off since the 23rd. She is actually looking fwd to it in that she gets a sense of satisfaction doing something every day. Sure, she loves sleeping in and playing with her rats but she really, really loves her job. Scott led a First Day hike on Sunday and was talking to some local search and rescue team members. Since he has been taking several wilderness rescue/CPR courses, he had been thinking of volunteering with them so meeting them on the hike was perfect timing. He is attending a meeting for it next month. Proud of him for that.

My brother is feeling better, thank goodness. Although he texted me instead of his DS by accident. We do share a name so I'll give him that *winks*

Better get myself in order before I have to talk to people all day. Ugh. o_O

Love to you all!

@LSlycord OMG, that is exactly my kids' views on days off too. Scott is happy to work 4 10-hour days to get three days off. He tries to keep at least one day to do absolutely *nothing,*
How was your trip to Savannah?

@BrightEyes Yikes! I would be worried about my dogs getting too close to the bobcat. There is usually aa bunch of people in my town who post pics of the bears on their decks or patios. very rarely of ones trying to get inside. I'd be freaking out for sure.
That is a smart tactic to get new SD cards, I can't tell you how many times Gary has written over one accidentally :/

@tanteva I guess olive oil or coconut oil with salt can't be used as a mayo substitute for your sandwiches. Why not use ketchup?
Can you get agave syrup? That might taste closer to honey than sugar.
Bwuahahaha!! Tell Urban that if he sets off another pandemic I m gonna have to come and beat him up! You are too cute that your crush is a historian.

@vickyday My first pair of mittens that I crocheted looked like that-- totally different sizes. I ended up ripping out the top half of one and redid it and it came out closer but not perfectly the same.
I can't wait to see the creche pics too

@bcgal00 What a good day to get out with Jen and the pups

@Cherylndesigns sure, rub it in that I will never be a Rocky haha!!!
I saw some of the FB pics- what a crazy and fun bunch you all are. Bet you can't wait to get started scrapping them

hugs!

Good morning ladies. Sitting on the lanai watching the robins fly across the backyard and a cardinal stopped in the lemon tree (about 12 feet from the lanai) for a minute. Sunny and temp is nice.

Had a really nice day yesterday. Decided to take a quick detour to St. Simons Island on the way to Savannah and that became our destination. Really beautiful place with a downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants. It was a good day! But I sure didn't get anything else done.

Today, Syd is going to get a trim and I think I'm getting mine cut...or maybe a trim. LOL I guess we will see. Other than that, I think boxes are moving back to the storage closet today. And another heritage layout...but this is going to take some time because I really want to get it right.

Off to refill my coffee cup (no matter what the lady says @tanteva) and then I'll be back for personals. #coffee

I feel your pain! Phone days are the worst! I procrastinate until I just can't wait any longer.....especially to insurance companies!
So glad Caitlyn enjoys her job! Sounds like Scott does, too! Good for them! Glad your DB is feeling better!

@faerywings it must be wonderful to have both kids enjoying their work...and having real life benefits. I can't imagine. Someday... I hope that your phone calls are easy. But I fear that they won't be...

@BrightEyes glad that you don't need to go anywhere with that weather ahead! I think that it is crazy about the bobcat at your daughter's trying to get into the garage. We have had quite a few spotted in the last year in neighborhood's back in Iowa but I don't know of any trying to get into buildings. Glad that the dog scared it off!

@tanteva good news on having some additional work hours. Hope that ear trouble clears up soon. Thanks for sharing the video...some good tips.

@vickyday love that you share what you are reading. It is keeping me inspired. I joined a Facebook Group called "Read with the Book Girls" and they have a couple of challenges for 2023 that I have joined. One is to read a book from a particular region of the country each month and the next is to read a book from a specific decade each month. They provide lots of choices. So I decided to try that. I just finished "Things You Save in a Fire" by Katherine Center and I enjoyed it.

@bcgal00 sounds like a very good day with you and Jen and the dogs. Hope that it turned out as planned.

@Cherylndesigns I have seen some of the photos on your FB page. It looks like it was so much fun!

Good Morning!
Yesterday was a good day of getting things done. I got some pictures rehung and some new ones put up. I found a storage place inhouse to put my craft paints and canvases so I don't have to run to the she shed. I DID THE DISHES!!!! I cooked! BIG accomplishments for me, LOL!

Today I am off to see the wizard, Ilene, LOL! Carolyn is bowing out today since she spent yesterday with Ilene. We are going to Ruby Tuesday for their lunch special.....cheeseburger/chicken/fish sandwiches including tots/fries for $5.99! Then we will go back to her house and work on a puzzle, probably. Oh, yeah! I started and completed a puzzle yesterday. Mark helped me sort the pieces and put the bottom border together. The rest was all me! It only had 550 pieces.

I did not do any knitting yesterday. It will take me a while to get back to the socks since I messed up! Who wants to bet that the next one will be even different than the other 2?! ;)

OK, that's it for me. Mark wanted to go to lunch today but he didn't ask quick enough, LOL! He said, that's OK. We will do lunch tomorrow! I'm good with that plan!

Have a great day!

Well, so much for the 'big winter storm' hitting our area... we got a bit of light rain here in town although it did snow on the mountain and in other parts of the state. Since the roads are clear, I am going to try to get my hair cut today and run a few errands. I had a lazy PJ day yesterday and enjoyed reading a book and did a bit of scraping. Still looking for a kit for one of this month's challenges. It is early in the month yet.. so hoping the right one will show up soon. Also have an itch to change out my avatar and siggy in another week or so. Love it for the New Year but will want to change it to a winter one soon. I enjoyed another turkey, dressing and gravy dinner last night. When I was getting that out of the freezer, I noticed that there was no more frozen enchilada sauce. So making another big batch of sauce is on the agenda sometime in the next week.

Had a nice long talk with my sister yesterday. Her trip back east turned into 'who is next to get sick"!!! She got bronchitis and had to go to Urgent Care a few days ago. Think she is more than ready to head home next week. Between her, her son and grandson all getting sick over the holidays, it has not been as pleasant a trip as she had hoped. Unfortunately that seems to happen when people are traveling now.

Just realized I had not turned the heat up so my shower will have to wait until it is warmer. I grabbed another cup of coffee while I reset it. The master bath is an 'in suite' one without a door so it never gets really warm/hot. As you can guess, I don't spend much time showering in the winter time..... quick in and out and into clothes ASAP.

@faerywings hope you don't have to spend a lot of time on the phone getting all those things done.

@LSlycord Saw your FB photos of the trip. Looked like you were having so much fun.

@Cherylndesigns Also so the photos from the party of FB. What a hoot!!!

@vickyday So sorry the socks turned out to be different sizes. I do the same as Eva... work both at the same time to try to keep the stitches alike on each. When I am knitting a sweater, I work with both sleeves on the same needles and different skeins of yarn. It is the only way to make sure they end up the same size. Wow, your DH is really coming along on the shed.

@bcgal00 You amaze me that you can get out in that frigid weather to take photos. Love seeing the bird and horse photos on FB. So glad your new camera is working out for you.

Well, the heater just shut off so better go get my shower and get ready to head out. HAGD

Mark finished the back of the cabin yesterday. He needs to cut more wood to frame out the windows and make the doors and close in the top on the ends.....the peaks, if you know what I mean. But since he is back to work today, that won't happen until the weekend unless the weather is still nice when he gets home from work. But since it gets dark so early, he doesn't have much time after work.

So sorry about your sister and her grandson being sick over the holidays. Bummer!

Have a safe outing today!

Good afternoon all.

It's beautiful and 54 here at the moment. It got up to almost 70 for a few days, but we had a tornato watch last night and a ton of rain, so it's cooled off. Still beautiful, though. It was pretty bad last night - Ava left Bailey here while she and Alyssa drove to Muskogee to do Jujitsu. They turned around half way there and came home. She said she couldn't see a thing and it was raining so hard and so windy that she got freaked out. I was glad they came back.

Chris @faerywings good luck with all of your phone calls today. I hate when I have to do that. Especcially the health care stuff - it takes so long. And yes, we're a wild and crazy bunch!

Kay @BrightEyes that's so scary about the bobcat. They have been sighted on the property, but I've never seen one. I worry about my cat, he goes out all night, but I guess he's a scrappy little guy. Sorry your family is going through the "who's going to get sick next:. I'm glad you liked the pictures on FB. I figured it was easier to post them there. We had a blast! Glad you didn't get the wicked weather.

Linda @LSlycord sounds like everybody is ready to get back to real life - I know I am. We had so much fun getting ready for our party and attending it, but it's time to get back to real life.

I'm going to go now and try to find my mojo. It's running amuck and if anybody sees it, would you send it back????? #angry2

I am back home... Yes, I got my haircut done. I was the 1st customer there so no waiting at all!!! :D The stylist did a great job on the cut. It is so good to have it back to my "pixie" cut. It can be a "wash'n'wear" when nothing special is going on... or I can use the blow-drier and give it more of lift if I want. The best of both worlds. LOL

Then I popped over to Best Buy (forgot this was on my to-do list) and picked up the SD Card Reader (USB plug-in). Then made a quick stop at Sam's. They had my favorite Isotoner slippers on sale (marked down and I saved $4) and in my size and color!!! All in all, it was a very productive outing. The weather cooperated too... it was 40*F with partly cloudy skies and no wind. And I was LOL as I drove past all the Roadside Advisory signs of "Winter Weather Coming". The other good thing about the trip was 2 miles of Westside Rd is now finally finished and all 4 lanes are open. Sure makes the trip easier and faster.

My grandson discovered that I had left the CD wallet in the SUV... it was tucked down in the space between the passenger seat and the storage/beverage holder. He pulled it up so it was very visible. Glad he did so I spotted it this morning... brought it into the house.

The tummy is telling me I need to get something to eat as I skipped breakfast.

Kay, I bet it feels great to have your "wash and wear" haircut back. SO lucky that your GS found your CD wallet in your SUV. I can't tell you how many CD's I've lost in car trade-ins. I'd be extremely upset if I lost my whole holder!! I've had that for so many years.

The day flew by. I was busy with house chores, dogs and then out running errands. Doing laundry now and then need to get dinner going. I feel like I didn't have any time to relax today. That's ok, there is always tomorrow. I'll stay home tomorrow except for a visit to the dog park in the afternoon. We have snow coming for 2-3 days so that will make Remi very happy.

I'll be around tomorrow for personals. It just felt weird to not pop in and say hi :)
