You will *never* believe what I did yesterday. I swear that I really did this. Not lying. For real. :biggrin1:

I took a nap.

Ok, you all can get up off of the floor now. It wasn't for long and I didn't actually sleep but I rested. (And the world did NOT end!!!)

Caitlyn and I brought Heather to the vet and I just love them there so much. They really make it as easy as possible. I didn't think that I was going to be upset, but when they brought us into the "comfort room" all of the other times I had been in there flashed back. Then I put my head on the carrier and sobbed. But damn, the past few weeks have been really hard on me physically and emotionally. I needed to rest and regroup.

Cait had the brilliant idea that I should reread "Hyperbole and a Half" which has to be the funniest book ever written. I read a few chapters and laughed a lot, then had to bring the book to the dinner table to read some parts out loud even though the kids have read it and Gary has heard me read it to him too. Now that we have Whisky, certain parts about the dogs are even funnier. :pound:

I have to food shop this morning and I hate having to do that in the rain. But at least it isn't snow.
Cait and I are bringing Clover in for her post-op recheck so that will be fun and will "reset" my memories of the vet to happier ones.

Wishing you all of the best today!

Nancy- How was the game last night, hoping that you got a good win! Yeah, 6 cats. That is a lot. And all before we had Scott. I have a picture of the night we brought him home after he was born. He was in his car seat and several of them were all around him getting his scent. I have one picture of all 6 on the back of my sofa looking out of the picture window.
I guess we have always been a bit demented when it comes to animals. :D

Felis- Yes, my family all grieves in different ways but we understand how we do it so we are able to understand and support back. Gary is the one who takes care of the body, he needs to do that to say goodbye. Cait has been extra snuggly with Floyd. Scott will cry but not when I can see him. He spent time with her after he got home on Sunday. Gary had put her in the basement so he was down there for a while.
Me-- I will be ok. My heart breaks today and it will break again. But I know this cycle and I know I will get through it.
Have you ever read the poem of The Rainbow Bridge? It is beautiful and it is about the place that our pets wait for us. I hold that in my mind and in my heart.

Trudy- I can tell that the days are longer since my kitchen window faces west so I can see the sunsets when I am cooking. I hope that you are able to see a difference soon but ITA-- hurry up already!!
Hockeyville sounds like it was really cool esp. to meet a player from your hometown. One thing I am really happy about is that my oven is a self-cleaning one. I do not miss the days of saying that foam and then choking trying to wipe it all out.

My kids swear that some of our pets are still hanging around. Caitlyn has seen Merlin and heard Harley's nails on the kitchen tile. It doesn't surprise me that you see Mr. Abu too.

Felis- in the US Constitution, women are not constitutionally protected as equal to men. There have been movements to ratify an Equal Right's Amendment since the 70's (IIRC) but it has never passed. Isn't that crazy?
Nice to hear that your dog had a chance to play in the snow.

Rae-your game night must have been a lot of fun. Bourbon chai tea-- mmm, sounds delish as does your pumpkin/chocolate loaf.:hungry:
Great finds on the clothes for you and Bailey!! That should cheer her up, I know I like it when I get a new outfit so I don't feel like I am wearing the same stuff over and over. Love that you got to talk with the jam lady. I always found that people at the Farmer's Markets were so down to earth (no pun intended!)
What was it like to look through those photos? Must have been so awesome!

I can't thank you all enough for your kindness to me.

Morning everyone! It is pouring :rain: here again today. I did enjoy the sunshine for a bit yesterday, but it was windy and chilly, so I wasn't outside for too long. I will try to hit the pool this morning and get in a few laps, it will be interesting to see how many I can do as I haven't been swimming since before Christmas. Yesterday was another day of no scrapping, I just sat there and stared at my empty page and for the life of me I couldn't think of anything to do. Perhaps today? I think I need a quote or something to get my juices flowing again. I have had some bone broth cooking for the last couple of days so I need to get that into some containers and put into the freezer. I cook quite a bit with my bone broth, I never used to but now that I have been Keto for so long I can't imagine how I can go without it! I put the crockpot down in the suite so that it doesn't smell up the upstairs, wish I would have thought about doing that a long time ago!

Chris - After I picked myself up off the floor and dusted myself off I smiled that you had finally taken a sort of nap! Good for you! You are a very strong person, it must have been so hard to take your kitty to the vet and to say your final good-byes! I hope everyone is coping alright! What a good idea that Cait had to have your re-read that book, it sounds like it really lifted your spirits! Yes I hate cleaning ovens too and my oven is a self-cleaning one, but every time I use that feature it blows something in my oven and I have to get the repair guy to come and replace a part. So I don't use the self clean feature any more :mmph: It is still a self clean oven (I clean it myself...:pound: ) Hope that your day of shopping for groceries goes well! One of these days I am going to try the online shopping I can do at our SaveOn Foods Store, the first time is free and I would like to see how goes.

I will say :hello: to everyone else and get my bag ready to hit the pool. I will pop in later to catch up with the rest of you! Have a great morning everyone!

good morning - my Devils lost 3-0. I can stand a loss if they play hard and they had many chances but just could not put the puck in the net. Another one of my players is injured Taylor Hall my all star was not able to play. I would have thought I had other good players but that did not happen. Tonight they play Trudy's team the Bruins who are on this amazing winning streak. I just hope my team keeps it close. Came home and my boys are worried about Luther. They say he is not his normal self. What does that mean. I try explaining that Luther and allergies and then allergy medicine can make him seem a bit down but I am now keeping an eye on him. Why can't he just talk to me? LOL Well it finally stopped raining so I just got back from the walk and just as we were on the final block of course the rain came again but luckily just a light drizzle.

Chris glad that you got rest. You needed it. Good luck at the store. I stopped at the store on the way home after the Devils game. No one is at the store at 10pm so it is easy in and out. I know you are probably in bed! Glad there was a lovely room for the last good-bye

Trudy I bet you get in more laps that you think! hopefully it will be a good game tonight and my team does not look totally out played. We are having a lot of rain today too. Cooking in the basement sounds like a good idea!

Rae you constantly amazing me with your shopping karma. Bailey will be so happy to have new clothes. How amazing to have found the perfect farmers market and a jam lady.

Jean waving hi!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I am going to relax for a few minutes and create a page this morning before starting work. I feel like I need to do this. I've not scrapped for awhile and I feel the withdrawal. So....work can wait a few minutes. I need to check all my emails from the acct and figure out what I still need to get together for him. We were doing some back taxes with him and he's applying for the return of my US casino winnings from last year. But, we got an overdue notice for final payment from them yesterday. WTH???? We haven't even finished all the paperwork for starters, and then this is the first invoice we've gotten. It was dated mid December and the PO stamped it and delivered it for Jan 22. We've used this company for over 25 years but I think its time to move on to another accountant. I'll be calling them later today and complaining.

Chris - your family meshes so well together, you all help each other in different ways. I know you realize how lucky you and your family are to have this. I still can't believe you were actually quiet and still (nap-like LOL)....you should do that more often, center yourself and meditate. I think we all should do that.

Trudy - what else is new eh? More rain. I've never grocery shopped online. Do you get the same sales as in the store? I don't mind going to the grocery store, we've got 6 of them within a five minute drive, so everything is very close. Enjoy your swim today.

I did a few yoga stretches this morning and am going to do some later today. I feel its been helping my neck and back a bit. My back is still sharply twinging numerous times throughout the day but it is lasting only seconds now instead of minutes or hours (before losing the weight and changing my diet, it would be for days and days on end sometimes). I'm going to go create a scrap page, I think its my first one of the month. I need this :)

Have a great day, everyone.

Yey, we all are here at the same time ! Ok, here is my fixed post!

Good evening girls,
the afternoon was so warm, snowy days are warmer than the windy. I finally take a time to play with my snowman, and he was so happy! I adore these moments! After a while we realized that from both neighbours houses mans are out and doing something, one clean the snow afront of garage other split woods, but they all watch at our yard. Probably we are been too noise. So we had to stop, 11 years girl play with dog is sweet, 17 is kind of sexy, but 30 years old woman to roll in the snow is ridiculous. Most house in my neighborhood was projected with mesh fences, this is something I want to change if I have more money, but it's not so important like the roof, so probably wouldn't be soon. From one side my my grandmother has already planted hedge, but at some reason all our attempts to continue it failed. However it was short but precious moment.
Vicki Stegall is provided awesome Hibernation Wordart, and I'm so tempted to modify it a little and scrap my snow challenge, but don't have a time. I had time to scrap at the weekend but not mood, and now is opposite, yep so usual me!

Chris, I'm not read this poem, but will found it and will fix this when I find time. ::grouphug

Trudy, have a fun at the pool! I hope you to find some scraping inspiration too! I didn't mention it early, but from your stories for Mr. Abu I feel so much love and pain. I really hope that in future you'll have a chance to get another cat (maybe some with not so much fur :D ) or maybe dog to accompany you at the at the hiking!

Rae, it's so nice that you can give all these new clothes to Bailey. It's good to have new stuff for her new life. I was thinking that one bracelet or pendant with phoenix, could be nice gift for her?! I'm sure that with your good shopping karma you can easy to find something beautiful.
Did you see my yoga post at the Healty Thread?!

Nancy, poor Luther, I hope fast to be back to normal! Did the walk helped? Good that you had luck to be fast than the rain!

Must have been feeling as gray as the weather as I never posted yesterday. But last night I put together the page for week 3 and did the writing for weeks 2 and 3 so should be able to post soon. About the Snowy Owl, no photos as it was quite distant and I've never mastered taking photos through the spotting scope.

Wow, Chris, even nap-like is amazing! And Cait was so sweet to get you reading something to bring laughter ultimately to all of you. As we remember the days of Catzilla, you know you can always talk about her here when you want to remember her on your keyboard. Yesterday must have been bad but you made it through. Hope you did OK food shopping today.

Trudy, hope you got in lots of laps! Wonder if it's something in the season as it seems like all of us here have been slow on scrapping lately. Maybe with the oven behind you today will bring inspiration.

Nancy, I saw the Devils score in the 3rd period so wasn't surprised at the loss after that. Hope they are more competitive tonight but with so many injured players it must be hard (and we can't cheer against Trudy's Bruins). Sure hope Luther is OK and more himself.

Rae, hope you get that page scrapped today. You always have so much happening it must be hard to take the time and concentration for scrappingl Sure was wonderful to get the bargains for yourself and B.

Felis, you think you're not still cute rolling in the snow? Bet you are to some, but maybe not the neighbors. What the heck, do it if it's fun and not hurting anyone. Does the big dog like the snow too? With the recent warmer days our snow is pretty well gone, but by tonight should be getting more.

Have a good one!

Hi again! Well I managed to swim 20 laps and then my feet started to cramp. Guess I need some Magnesium or something. Hopefully Thursday I will squeeze in a few more laps than that. The pool was pretty empty surprisingly, so it was a very nice hour! Now I am making some Deviled eggs and hoping to get a page started. Heather sent me a really cute pic of Mason and his best friends at a birthday party, so I think that will be my photo inspiration! I am not too pleased with the photos that were taken at Christmas so I am hoping that Heather has a few more to send to me.

Nancy - Should be a fun game to watch tonight, at least perhaps the officiating shouldn't be so one sided with these not being Canadian teams. LOL You know that the Bruins winning streak can't continue for ever so you never know what will happen! Sure hope that you are right about Luther and that it is just his allergies and that he will soon be feeling himself again! Heard this morning that Alaska had a huge quake and so Tsunami warnings for the coast of Vancouver Island. Thankfully it did not amount to anything but many communities moved to higher ground and a very sleepless night for a lot of people! No worries here where we are although there is always the worry of earthquakes or trees falling on our house.

Rae - Yes, rain, rain and more rain!! When will it end?? Yes I do believe that you get the same sales as what is advertised in flyers for the online shopping. I don't usually mind going grocery shopping as many of them are pretty close by about a 8 minute drive. I think I would try it though if it was a really miserable day or I was too sick or something to go out for food. Yes your shopping Karma is strong! WTG on the great finds, I am sure B will love everything you found! Have fun scrapping again, sometimes you just have to put other things aside and do what you love to do!

Felis- LOL too funny that you don't think that you are cute rolling around in the snow! Who cares what others think, do what makes you happy!! That is all that matters! I do miss my Mr. Abu, and someday down the road I will get another kitty. I am more of a Cat person than a Dog person, I love both but can't see myself committing to the care of Dog right now or to the expense of the Vet bills. But who knows perhaps someday!

Jean - Yes the grey weather does effect us in different ways and we can get down in the dumps! Sounds like you had some good scrapping time though! Hope you are enjoying today and that the weather is not quite so gloomy for you!

Ok I need to get this bone broth put into containers and then I am going to scrap a page if its the last thing I do!!
