Whatever works, right?

I was an absolute *mess* yesterday. As in got in my car on the way home from food shopping and started to cry and couldn't stop. Then, I was sobbing on Gary and I could not stop. I was sad about the kids' school semesters starting again, which is ridiculous since they live at home. Which then set me off because what will I do when they actually do move out? Then it was about the usual run of stuff- health/money/snow/what to make for dinner;)

Kibs (as of my bedtime last night) was the same. She ate a tiny bit of baby food chicken and a few droppers of water. I was able to get an appt for her for an ultrasound at my vet's office. The traveling u/s vet is in this Thursday so the woman I know is putting her on the schedule. Even if we don't get good news, or God forbid she doesn't make it until Thursday, I feel that I have done what I can to help. It doesn't seem like it is enough but maybe it will keep me from feeling such helplessness and guilt.

I rescheduled my appt with my LLMD from this Thursday to Feb 1st. That was another weight off of my shoulders. Now I don't have to figure out how I am going to get home tomorrow if it snows to get Kibs to the vet Thursday morning and then back down to the Drs in the afternoon. We are supposed to get 3-5" of snow today with locally over 6+ (which is usually me, being in the mountains.) Scott starts classes today and of course he is gone from 9 am to 10 pm. I am going to worry about him being on the roads in the snow. But that is just me being me I guess. *shrug*

Today, I am packing up and heading to my ILs sometime in the afternoon. I won't be here in the morning so go ahead and open a thread whoever would like to.
I need a vacation!! Somewhere warm and sunny. With drinks. Does anyone want to take me?

On a very funny note, you know how some pets have no sense of personal space? Whisky is terrible with that. Last night, she was laying on top of Gary on her back with her head by his knees and her back legs up next to his ear. She is 100% ridiculous! :pound:

Hoping that all of you have a very happy day!

Nancy- stay warm and dry today and tomorrow. How much will you end up getting? We have already been having some flurries on and off this morning. Ugh. But I am looking forward to the weekend when we should be getting over 40*! Downright balmy ;)
What fun you ladies must have had at the open practice, I know that you enjoy that a lot. And man, it must be such a kick to see their reactions to your pages. That stinks about your knees though.

Trudy- That is good that the fog wasn't as bad as the day before for you and that you got to see the sun. We had sun yesterday but when it is 20* I feel no desire to be out in it. Which reminds me that I have to start taking my Vit D again. I stopped a while ago when I needed to take a break from so many pills and then I forget to start them again.
*fingers crossed that the washer and dryer come today*
Thank you for the good thoughts about Kib. I have to remind myself that since we rescue all of our pets, they have had a better life with us, even if a short one, than not.

Rae- that is really cool and exciting to get those photos!

Jean- You are lucky to be able to get DVDs from your library like that. Mine has a small selection and you can only get them for a week and after that, it is $1/day fine which makes it not worth it since I would get fined a lot of the time. :p
Enjoy the ones that you got. BTW- the last movie I saw in a theater was Harry Potter 6 (I think!) The kids were little so it was long ago.

Felis- I hope that the pills will help her. As long as I can keep her eating a bit and hydrated, maybe that will give her enough time to let the pills work. Thank you for letting me know that it can take that long.
I am sorry that your Monday was bad. Believe me, I understand... Here is to a better day today!

Hugs to all of you!

I'll be back with normal post later! Now just have to scold on Chris :flame:.
You are feeling guilt about WHAT?! Because you are give her good home, because are care for it like for human kid or because you are fighting for her in case when most vets here was just to help her fall asleep forever?!?

I don't wanna hear these self blaming, dear! :lalala: On freedom cats live 2-6 year, of course we try to keep our indoors baby 16-20 years, but the last word is not ours.
Helpless yes, confused of course, angry with sure.
But NOT guilt, not at all!!!

The Life is jealous, he loves to steal our jewels and to offer them in gift to his mistress the Death.
You must fight with them, fight them both! She is my often guest and I'm familiar with her tricks so well, she loves the pain, suffering and these hassle that create. She feeds on fear. Don't make her pleasure!
Maybe I need to clarify that on my language nouns have a gender; male: live, luck, sun; female: death, fate, faith, moon, Nature.

Stay strong, dear, and just hope and expect for the best! Take break with your ILs, you deserved it.

good morning - yesterday was cold but we got a good walk in with Luther but he is so funny. When my DH and I walk together and Luther wants to go one way and I don't he goes for a while then realizes I am not going and comes running for me. That is sweet but feel bad as he could go longer but follows me home. But my DH and son took he out to a park for running and playing with the ball. He was tired. Boys are back at work today. Luther and I just walked and there are already a bit of snow in the air. But it should only be a couple of inches. Today I am off to get my hair cut and colored yea! And then tonight I get to see if my Devils can defeat the NY Islanders. So far they have not been able to and last night the Islanders defeated the Canadiens and looked really good offensively but did let in 4 goals. I have hope!

Chris I hope this week goes better than the weekend. Crying can be very therapeutic. Hope the kitty is better. Even with my blue apron meals I still find I do not like cooking. It is so hard to constantly think of new dinners.

Trudy glad that the fog burned off and you got sun and warmth. And wow you are a cleaning machine but it is great to have your house back to normal.

Rae hope the day went well.

Jean hope you are not getting ice with the snow. Take care!

Felis I love what you wrote to Chris.

Have a great day all!

Hello ladies,
:smow: haha, yep I saw most of you are surprised from that, but I adore snow, or maybe the romantic idea of it. Give five, Nancy! The town is sleep under the white 'blanket', the air smells specific, the colors are bright and just for the moment looks like the whole world could be white and nice (hmm, 'white and nice' is popular phrase here for someone who parades with his fake kindness). I don't mind to wear three sweaters and actual before the snow it was even more colder. So today I had a fun afternoon outside trying to distract my thinking and to clear my mind.

Nancy, got autographs from the Devils and watch open practice sounds so awesome! WOW, you are so clever my dear! To take a LO for autographs is SO brilliant! I have to copy you if finally have a chance to go London watch the theater play I want. Hope your knees are better! We also have just a few inches snows, but enough to play with the big dog. At one moment he start to roll at the snow, and I was afraid that I will have a snowman at the final, but actually snow was pretty firm so it not stick to his fur.

Jean, I also have to wait months before the movies that girls discuss to come here, but at least this gives me some ideas. I'm one of these who watch TV too much, but mostly series. Past few years have few great local productions too.

Rae, these old family photos sounds very intriguing. Definitely will be good to have digital copy of them.

Trudy, great that you feels better! You was made so many things at your home that you are so effective, wow! Hope the weather is good for the hiking on Wed. I'm agree with all the advantages of the physical books that you mentioned.

Why is the weather the thing for us these days? For me it just seems to effect everything else. Our temps are dropping and it could be single digits tonight.
DH will probably cancel his bird survey for the early morning because of the cold. But maybe this afternoon we'll go out for more bird seed and to a computer store.

Chris, my dear, so sorry it's all brought you to tears but listen to Felis and take her words to heart. Lots of hugs from us here. Enjoy time with ILs.

Felis, hope Tuesday has been better than Monday. Sounds like you got to enjoy the snow. I sure agree it makes everything look so much nicer.

Nancy, sounds like you had a nice walk with Luther, probably enjoying more quiet with the guys gone today. Good luck to the Devils tonight.

Trudy, Rae and all, wishing you a good day.

Good morning, ladies. Just got back from a quick trip over to VV to see what I could find and of course I did find a few things (don't I always? LOL). I'm looking for spring/summer things now. Found a gorgeous jacket and a few lightweight sweaters. Taz is still feeling a bit under the weather today and not eating much. Hopefully he will snap out of it, I always worry when he doesn't eat well for a few days (b/c of his severe food allergies and sickness his first year).

I've got desk work and laundry to do today. Plus I need to think about a few dishes to bring to a potluck on the weekend. We're going to game night with friends. I'll look thru pinterest later.

Chris - hugs. I hope the sunshine comes and cheers you up. Enjoy your time away and try to relax. I just started taking vitamin D last night. I'm terrible with remembering to take pills so I am trying this at bedtime with my allergy pill, so hopefully I will remember.

Felis - you are so wise. You always have the right thing to say. I agree with you, I love the clean fresh look of fallen snow. I don't want to drive in it but I love to look out at it (or take Taz out to play in it).

Nancy - what a great thing to do (bring a LO for signing...awesome!!!).

I'd better get back to work. Hope you all are having a great day.
