Eeek! We are hitting double digits on the date already. Jan. 10. That's crazy.
Well, as long as time goes faster in the winter and slows down during the summer ;)
Although I have to say I hvae not had to complain as much as normal about the weather so far. *knocks wood that it stays that way* Yesterday i even went for a walk.
That was a good thing because I spent much of my morning scanning the old neg's of my mom's family. My great-grandmother was an intimidating looking woman! I have stacks and stacks of more to do but I am going to have to do them in smaller batches.
I scrapped one page so far, using the awesome collab Generations.

My poor pookie will be home today, she was throwing up last night. Her lyme dr gave her a week break from her meds and yesterday was her first day back on. Its too soon for the meds to kick back in, I think? Maybe its just a stomach bug.

Off to work in a bit, hope all of you have a fab day.

Tip on Tuesday:
To get dried sterno off of your ceiling, you can use Goo Gone.

Good morning Chris. Sorry that Cait doesn't feel well. :-(

Quick drive by here this morning. Went to the dermatologist yesterday and did have to wait about 45 minutes...in keeping with the theme of waiting at doctor's offices...but I had my iPad so I really didn't mind.

Then had Shaun's swim meet. He swam three events and we spent two hours in a packed pool area where I had to sit on the floor...not enough seats. But, again, I had my iPad and really didn't mind. (Seeing a theme here?)

Off to the shower for me. Hope everyone has a great day. Supposed to have warm temps here again today...I agree with Chris...can't complain much about that.

Chris, i'm not even going to ask how you know that GooGone gets dried Sterno off a ceiling. i do have to say that you make me laugh almost EVERY morning!

i was awake at 4:30. that's what happens if i go to bed at 10:30. i am allotted 6 hours/night.no matter when the night begins. well, at least today will seem like a long day in which i can maybe accomplish something. i want to go to one of the antique stores in the area and look for bedroom furniture. i like old stuff. i bought the GREATEST desk a few months ago. in its former life it was someone's homemade workbench. 7 feet long with large oak vices at either end. (the desk can also be used as a torture device, i figure. if my husband annoys me, i shall put his head in one of the vices and turn the crank.) i'm looking for bedroom furniture. i've always wanted one of those weighty bedroom sets that look haunted. with an armoire that leads to Narnia or someplace more sinister. old furniture has such character. new furniture has none, i think. "easy" but sterile.

i'm feeling my scrap mojo slipping away. i hope it takes a turn back upward.

Frani, i hope you start to feel better fast! you have really gotten hit with a BAD one!

Linda, i think iPads are saving all of us who have them. mine has gotten me through many long waits in various places. i have a lot of video on mine, so when i'm stuck at the car dealer's repair waiting room, i watch Downton Abbey!

everyone else, have a lovely Tuesday. it's going to be almost 50 degrees in the Winter Wonderland where i live. can't ask for more than that on January 10. long may it continue!

MOrning all my O fam! Chris- hope your daughter feels better soon. I have my walk and a mini weight train work out done. I need to hit the showers. While I was on the treadmill, I read my kitchen counter cooking school book- it arrived sat afternoon and I am on page 203/263. I love the writers style and I am learning so much- this may be my year of really learning cooking. Interesting concept about when/why box cooking came about. Okay off to hit the showers and head to work. Oh and phylis- love antique stores too-old furniture has stories to tell.

Good morning! I am back here for quickie personals. My morning got a bit screwier, not only is Cait home sick, so is Scott. But I had to babysit, so I took my neighbor's DD to the bus that my kids would normally get on, and will be taking her DS to his bus at 8 am, and *then* I'll be off to work.

I have to admit, the thought of three family members being home sick/Lymie/Lymie sick, makes me very happy to be sticking my head in someone else's toilet! ha!!!

Linda S- thank goodness for ipads, I guess! Did your back hold up ok sitting on the floor? Ouchies! To be honest, I would rather sit on the floor- its the "getting up" that gives me the ouchies LOL
hope you have a day of no waiting today.

Phyllis- hee heeee! My poor kitchen ceiling has seen it all. A few years ago, Caitlyn was using glitter glue and the nozzle got clogged so she pressed harder and *splat* I still have silver glitter I can't get off. A few weeks ago, my brainiac son thought it would be "cool" to see if you can hard boil an egg in the microwave. i yelled at him before it exploded in the microwave, but as soon as he took it out, it exploded in his hand. Scrambled egg in his hair, on the window on the ceiling. By comparison, the sterno was just me trying to clean up after the party and the tray slipped and the lid wasn't on tight enough. I have to admit, I had no *idea* that sterno would have that much force to hit the floor, then the ceiling.

Antiques creep my out. I get very ....... odd feelings being in antique stores. Don't like it. Gary used to love them, his fav TV show is American Pickers. I think I should be grateful that he is home bound, b/c if he wasn't, he'd be bringing home more crap!
You are too funny- love the idea of a torture device. That was you have plausible deniability. "Officer, I have no idea how MMG's head got crushed. All I have here are some antiques!"

Lauire- that book sounds neat, good luck with it!

From yesterday:

Eva- hope that you all slept better last night than the one before. I don't get teens either....*smh*
How did your dinner come out?

"You can't even be disturbed in a normal way!"
 That is too funny (and for my fam-- very true!!)

Linda S- I am having a blast seeing these neg's come to life. After I get them scanned I am going to have mom come up and give me the details so I can write them right onto each file.

Laurie- again- i am so excited to hear about you cooking "real" food. I do way too much in the "boxed" variety. maybe you can inspire me to start cooking again. :)

Fran- i scrolled down- ugh... what a group of illness. Feel better and don't forget to take probiotics with the antibiotics!

Eva- I need to mind-meld with you :p Good perspective!

Trudy- I loved your Journaling LO-- just gorgeous hon!

Yay for Nana love!!! backatcha!! xoxo

Clara- as long as she knows where her stuff is organized, its a great start!

Hi yvon!

Sally- oh no, what did you do to that sweet girl? You are a quilting fiend! Did you ever get to see the quilt I got for C-mas from my MIL? She posted it on her FB page.

Eva!! Good for you!!!! Will I get to get a pre-release of your memoirs? :)

Maureen- welcome back to the east coast! I guess I would have to actually travel to get FF miles... but my IL's are going to London and paris in Sept using their miles. So jealous!

Better run...... next stop Elem School bus stop......
Have a great day!

Hey girls!

Catching up on this thread from the last few days and checking in to see what you ladies have been up to.

Getting chillier here in the midwest.............yes, I know it is January, but when we get days in the 50's and 60's it's hard to adjust to those days of 20's and then maybe the 'S' word next week. I'm ready for Spring, but we really have had no winter yet..........which is FINE by me!

The ususal on my schedule this week and keeping time on it to exercise which I hope continues.

I am a wealth of no information today ladies!
Happy Tuesday and enjoy your day!

JavaSmiley-A.gif
I am working off minutes of sleep last night and my eyes are burning...my body aches and my head hurts.....

Jaiden got the stomach bug last night...she started throwing up at bed time last night and that went on for 4 hours....then when she fell asleep I still could not sleep worring she would wake up...but she woke up at 3 feeling just fine...fever was gone and she wanted to PLAY....Wow they bounce back fast....I finally fell asleep at 5 or so....after she finally went back to sleep....but...............then the clock went off not too long after that to get up and start getting Jesse up and so on and so on.....So this morning...I am on the sofa...Jaiden is still in bed....and Savannah is watching TOY STORY eating POPCORN...yeah....I know POPCORN at 7:30 am...but she is quiet.....and still......

I am going to quietly slip out and lay back down for a bit.....

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE....I will catch up to you after lunch..hopefully...may be slow moving all day (I am too old for all of this)

Linda, don't feel bad about the popcorn. almost every morning i have a homemade almond flour sugar-free chocolate chip cookie and low carb ice cream. (call it a "Diabetic Chipwich!") whatever works! whatever'e easy!

GET ME A CAFFEINE IV PLEASE

Best thing I've ever had, I tell you. When I had the c-section, they made some kind of mistake with the anaestasia (sp? I can't bother with the dictionary right now), and I got a terrible headache. Something about the spinal cord or whatever, and the cure was IV caffeine. I told them I needed it on a daily basis. LOVED it.

Cat's had a death wish this morning - I woke up with Mario biting in my braid, pulling my hair. They had a wonderful time playing with my hair - 8 am ... They've never been so close to death before.

Otherwise a fairly lazy day. Mostly I've been doing my genealogy research. Haven't felt like scrapping in a couple of days ... anyone have any inspiration to send? Though, I've taken my self-portrait for the photo challenge + chosen the kit (found it in the tangerine blog post) ... so I really should get started. Kick me in the butt, please! Amazing kit isn't it?!!! :faint:

But I'll think I'll go back to the 17th century and dig deeper into the misery that is my family history ;)

Eva- hope that you all slept better last night than the one before. I don't get teens either....*smh*

Can you believe it? He slept til 7 am this morning!!! That's 18½ hrs of sleep? I know stuff happen in your body when you are a teen, but that's rediculous LOL

Good almost afternoon for me ladies!! Wow my day off and I slept 9hrs !!! I must have really needed it! I never sleep that long!! Feeling bad that Nana Linda did not get any sleep last night, wish I could have given her a couple of hrs of mine! A gorgeous sunny day here today and my MG has taken the week off so we will be getting a nice long walk in today. Must hop in the shower and get dressed then will be back later for personals and try to get another one of the fabulous challenges done today. Have a great day everyone

Hi, sweeties,

Just back from lab - blood tests - the fasting ones, so I'm slurping down my second coffee. I can handle no breakfast but the no coffee bit is a bummer.

Beautiful sunny day, and tho cold feels like spring. Unfortunately snow usually arrives late Jan or Feb. had snow as late as April ine year.

Checked out your kit choices Eva and Chris. Love the Tangerine colours, Eva. Have all go you read the blog post? Great info on Tangerine Tango the colour of 2012
And Chris love that Generations kit!

I would be lost without my IPad do all my forum/gallery posts on it plus read etc.

I bought a couple of Kitty's January templates. I have never scrapped this style but if I ever want to complete my heritage albums have to find another way other than one photo pages. So I'm going to give them a try and do one photo pages for special pictures.

Whoops, DH calling he's brewed another pot of caffeine!

I'll try to drop by later

Lotsa hugs
