Bonjour, mes amis!
And yeah, that is my limit of High School French that I remember. Bonjour and pamplemousse. A friend use to call me Pamplemousse (grapefruit) although I have no idea why. LOL
I got a lot done yesterday but not as much as I hoped. I did a lot of the time-consuming stuff- lots of onions caramelized and the crust for the quiche is baked. I had hoped to get the veggies roasted for the ratatouille but I didn't have all of them, food shopping is this morning. The house is cleaned. Finally. That is what took me so long, I thought I was going to get that done in an hour or so but it took me much longer. But I was good- I still got in 15 minutes of yoga.
Everyone seems to be looking forward to the party tonight - kids and old people. It's evenly split, 4 "kids" and my ILs and us are the olds. haha!

Better sign off on this, do some quick personals, and get cooking

@LSlycord Time spent with your girl - even binging House Hunters- is time well spent, never wasted. Happy official yet belated birthday to Brian. I hope you had a wonderful time at the beach.
That was so smart of Shaun to quit. No point in getting burned out at this stage in his life. Good luck to him with the Swim Team.

@Nonni F That is a lot of brothers! Where do you rank in there?
Your cats are beauties!! We have had 9 cats over the years. Six at the same time, plus a dog, and two toddlers- no wonder I am the way I am :giggle4: Imiss having cats but the dogs we have now chased after the ones we had. Once they passed on, we felt it wasn't fair to get a new cat only to be tortured by the dogs.

@vickyday I am so happy that you and Mark are feeling better. Take care of your tummy, it has to be difficult at times to have a sensitive stomach and be married to a man who really enjoys good food.
Four kids in 5 years? *faints* Two kids two years apart and I was DONE. In fact, I said it in the delivery room, as soon as they said it's a girl. True story. :D You look so amazingly calm - and beautiful- in that photo.
Does Mark spoil Asher or does Asher just know he can get away with snuggling on the sofa if someone isn't feeling well and needs his company?
If you get any other tips from your audiobook, please pass them along

@taxed4ever I am not surprised at all that your sister's BF loved the painting. It is truly beautiful. You and Linda @LSlycord have been here for a really long time-- you can join me in the "old as dirt club"
Caitlyn works remotely today so she is off at 4.30. Everyone is gathering after that and I hope the kick-off to be around 5. I still need to remember more about my character and what she is supposed to say.
Good luck at the Drs today.

@Cherylndesigns Hope that your eye dr appt was good!

@BrightEyes Thank goodness that it was not a rotator cuff! I bet the cortisone (I am assuming) is helping a lot. We really need bubble wrap for you.

@bcgal00 I can never get enough pics of Remi. Taz and Bella too. ♥
Is it really starting to feel like spring near you? I think I heard some birds the other day, not the usual winter blue jays, but the "chee-burger" ones. It's really too early for them, I think. That is a relief that Jen is starting to feel better. Give her another hug from me, please.

@Nonni F I am so sorry, I misread your intro and thought that you were married to a veteran. My bad and I apologize for that. How long did you serve?
It truly is always 5 o'clock somewhere in the Ooos. If you want to put a splash of wine in your coffee, who am I to judge? :drinks2:
I am also relieved that you read in snark. I always say that if you aren't sure of my tone, assume it is sarcasm

@Su_Sanne I prefer white wine, please :)
I use a lot of abbreviations so if you aren't sure of what I am saying, please just ask

Good morning. Found a new restaurant for lunch...right next to the beach although we were about 10 feet from the dunes where we were sitting...outside at a picnic table with our feet in the sand. Brian had a fish sandwich and I had a gyro. Then we took a short walk on the beach. My heart still longs for a place closer to the ocean but I'm still not sure that Florida is our forever home. Decisions, decisions. ;)

Not much planned today. A little more scrapping. I started the scanning process for the pictures yesterday. And maybe apply for some more jobs. There were several posts on LinkedIn about how companies are interviewing people but then can't decide whether or not to hire them. And then they decide not to fill the position. It's a rough time to be looking for work.

Let me get another cup of coffee and do some personals. #coffee-4

@faerywings bonjour right back at you! French was my high school language...four years of it. I can still read it a bit...not word for word but enough that I can usually get the content. Tonight is just going to be so much fun I think. Can't wait to hear all about it. But I'm sure that you do have a busy day ahead.

@Nonni F I'm so glad that you told us a little bit more about yourself! Now I need to spend some time in your gallery. Between seven grandchildren and four cats, I think there should be plenty to scrap. And yes, a snarky sense of humor definitely helps around here!

@vickyday I love that picture of you with your kids. You look so amazingly put together for someone with four little kids! I love it! My two are 15 months apart and I always said that if I had done it biologically, I would have had the sense to spread them out more. :floorlaugh: My sister-in-law had her first three in 4 1/2 years. Then the other two were spread out a bit more...with there being 13 years between the oldest and the youngest. They raised kids for a long time.

@taxed4ever I am so glad that you got to see how much that painting meant to Linda's boyfriend! That must be so gratifying! Glad that you were able to spend some quality time with Heather. I just can't imagine how we would exist without FaceTime.

@BrightEyes I can't believe the trouble that you are having with your shoulder and now wrist. Just miserable. I hope that the ortho can find a plan to solve the problem.

@bcgal00 I love Remi! Her eyes are so expressive. I know that it is hard to turn them down when they look at you like that. Poor Andie (our Newfypoo for the new folks) wants me to go back to work so badly. She loves it when I sit at the desk all day and she can sit underneath. Each morning she walks toward the office and I have to say "I'm not going to the office today Andie" It makes her sad...I guess that being under the desk without me just isn't the same.

@Su_Sanne good morning...well, I guess that it is afternoon for you! So good afternoon it is!

I hope you aren't too busy during the party to get pictures! This idea is new to me! But sounds like a lot of fun! What should I google to find out more about these types of parties?
HA! When I first looked at the name your friend gave to you in HS it made me think.....big mouse......as in rat, LOL! (p)ample mouse.
Have a great time tonight!

Thanks for the compliments on the picture of me with my littles! When I look at pictures like that I just have to wonder where in the world the years have gone! I LOL'd at your DONE comment! I was getting pregnant when I wasn't supposed to be getting pregnant, really! So the "natural rhythm" didn't work for me, obviously! I just say the Lord gave them to us.....which I believe anyway! After we had the first 2 at 16 months apart and I found out that I was pregnant again I was afraid to tell Tim. Not because he didn't like kids, we just thought we couldn't afford her, which we couldn't. But the Lord took care of that, too. That is when Tim got his first Assistant Pastor's position in a pretty big church and was paid pretty well. Elisabeth was born 3 months after he started the job. I had to go back to work after Michael was born, so I worked up until the week before she was due. Tim had lost his co-management position at Kroger while I was in the hospital delivering Michael. They told him they weren't willing to put money into his management training when he was going to school to be a preacher. I understand that, but obviously they had not heard of a Bi-vocational pastor. And the manager was a jerk. But, again, the Lord provided me a full-time job. So I went back to work 6 weeks after Michael was born. We took Jessica and Michael to mom's to babysit. She wouldn't take any money! That helped out so much! I didn't have to go back to work after Elisabeth was born. And Nathanael came 21 months after her. Yes, I was busy...up to my eyeballs in laundry....but loved every minute of it! And would do it all over again....well, not now, LOL!

Quick in and out today gals.
Going to begin the decluttering process.....slow, but hopefully steady.....as the author suggested! That way I don't become overwhelmed! I'm starting with my yarn and knitting and crochet needles. I inherited all of Tim's mom's equipment when she passed, along with her half dozen equipment pouches! I don't need that many needles! No one needs as many needles as what I have/inherited! I will be sure to document with pictures as I go along!

I have to get groceries today and I am sure Mark is going to want to do lunch, so I will be doing that first and start the decluttering when I get back around noon. Probably will not go to Ilene's this week as I get gungho on my "project".

And, btw, my kitchen sink and counters have been kept clean for about 4 days now! WOOHOO! Go me!

Have a great day!

Yeah, that is one of the reasons I would do it all over again having the kids close together.....over and done with! It hurt when the first one left the nest, but then it was like, OK, this is pretty cool! Tim and I had more time together doing and going where we wanted to go without the kids tagging along and complaining! So, at times the empty nest would bother me, but not for long! ;)

Nothing yet. They said it could take two weeks which would be fine...except it won't be fine if after two weeks, they still don't have an answer. I'm praying for patience but I wasn't really wanting quite that much. ;)

@faerywings No need to apologize at all. I was active for 7.5 years then worked as a civilian on base for 5.5 before returning home. Long story... one probably meant for a lot of wine. lol
As for brothers, I am smack in the middle. I spent time in a foster home with three older brothers and have three younger blood brothers.

We can add to the abbreviation YFS. Your favorite sister. To which I often hear, "You're my only sister!" What your point?

@LSlycord one would think the grandkids would give me plenty to scrap but they're getting older and seem to avoid me and my camera at all costs. Will new kits I may be pulling out some only extracted files of them. Thankfully the cats don't give me much lip about the camera. Especially if there's a freeze dried minnow involved.

Morning everyone it is raining cats and dogs out there today! I am off to the doctor this afternoon and have a few questions that I should write down so I remember to ask them to her LOL. I did get some scrapping done yesterday, but need to finish that page off this morning. I have been putting off a big cleaning job and should get going with that today. I need to get to the top of my cupboards and my range hood and get the grease and dust cleaned off of them. Ugh I hate that job! Other than that not much on my plate. I will look for some photos of Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario so I can get Hunter's painting started. What a kid, wanting something like that. You gotta love him!! :giggle4:

@faerywings - I hope you have a lot of fun tonight at your Murder Mystery Party!! That is about as much French that I remember from High School also. Most of the French I learned was taught by a man with a very heavy Scottish Accent, so the words, never did sound right LOL. It always amazes me that our Son and DIL are both fluent in French, its so fun to hear them break into french when they talk to each other. Good luck with your grocery shopping today, hope they have everything that you need. Enjoy tonight!!

@LSlycord - How nice to have your lunch with your toes in the sand! I often wondered if I would like to live in Florida, I think that I would miss the four seasons that we have here. However I wouldn't mind giving it a try if I could. Of course it would have to be a house on the beach though LOL. Hope you get the call that you are patiently waiting for, its crazy how hard it is to find that perfect job these days!

@vickyday - I am sorry I forgot to say how beautiful your photo was yesterday! Yes you were a busy lady with many babies and working full time too!! My Mother had 7 children and I always wondered how she managed!! I had two , one of each and just like Chris I said I was done!! Good luck with your de-cluttering process! Yes its a good thing to start slowly so you don't become overwhelmed. WTG with keeping the kitchen sink and counters clean for so long!

@Nonni F - I want to thank you for your service with the military! It's not said often enough is it?! Your cats are all so beautiful! I used to have cats throughout all of my childhood and most of my married life too. Our last one "Mr. Abu" was a gorgeous purebred Chinchilla coloured Persian I miss him a lot, but I sure don't miss his hair all over the house .

@BrightEyes - Yup we need to find you some bubble wrap!! I hope that you are taking care of yourself today and that your shoulder starts to feel a lot better soon!

@bcgal00 - So cute how Remi pokes his head out from under the desk!! I hope that you are having a nicer weather day than we are having here, its just pouring rain, but at least the temps have warmed up a lot!

Ok I better get my morning chores done and get in the shower soon. Although I think I hear the coffee pot calling my name #coffee-4

Good morning ladies. I need lots of coffee today. Last night was one of those nights where I was up quite often throughout the night. Today I will drop off stuff to charity and then pop into my fave decor store. I am looking for an inspirational piece for the kitchen to put above a cabinet. I will make meatloaf later and will oven bake the rest of the bacon for lunch salads for the rest of the week. I only buy thick sliced bacon, sprinkle garlic and pepper overtop and cook it in the oven, never on the stove. I usually cook 1/2 to 1 package at a time. I'm loving my keto taco soup. For dinner last night I added the cottage cheese crisps and a tbsp of sour cream to the soup. Yum. Jen doesn't like the texture of the cooked veggies in it so wasn't interested in making it for herself but then I told her to leave the meat out, prepare the soup and then use the immersion blender to puree it, then add the meat into it. She can't wait to try it out now.

@faerywings Have a fantastic time with your party later. Can't wait to see photos.

@LSlycord I sure hope that at the end of the 2 wk wait you hear that you are hired.

Remi is having over the back of the laptop (she balances on the arm of the couch beside my little desk), wanting to get me outside to feed the birds and play. So, off I go. HAGD everyone.

@taxed4ever We cross posted this morning. We just saw the weather news and it said 70 mm for the lower mainland and 1 mm for us tonight LOL. It seems to be that time of year, doesn't it? Getting all those little extra chores done. Sort of like a pre-spring cleaning which will be next (windows, porch and furniture, BBQ and garden cleanup).

Well.... saw the ortho doc this morning. He confirmed that is 'shoulder impingement' and there maybe a tear in rotator cuff - but no surgery for that. He gave me a cortisone shot right into the space between the tip of the collar bone and tip of the humerus (upper arm bone). Said that should start helping with the pain and inflammation there within a day or so. He also referred me to PT so I need to set that up... but not to start it until Friday this week or start next week. Yep, will be doing the 'wall walk' but not until this weekend. I am to come back in 3 months for another shot if it is needed. He also said to lessen the use of the sling - only use it if the pain is up. No lifting with arm. At least the right wrist is feeling better with the brace... so will wear it when I am out of bed.
Won't be typing as much until the arm/shoulder/wrist is better... so won't be personals for a bit.

Well, I'm a dork - but you already know that. I wondered why Chris @faerywings asked me how my eye doctor appoint went. DOH - a little bell went off in my head - I bet I forgot to hit post reply. Yep - I never posted my response. :rotfl: Anyway, here's what I posted yesterday. I'll try to pop in later on to do more personals. I even remember why I didn't hit post - Adrienne and the "girls" came in right about that time and the wild rumpus began with all of the dogs. :rotfl:Anyway, here's my post from yesterday.

Hello again. It's been a long day. We went into town today for my eye doctor appointment. Good news is that my prescription for my distance glasses hasn't changed enough to worry about. SO - that's the good news. The bad news is that I need a different pair of glasses for my computer work. So, I ordered them - tried to use my old frames, but they couldn't be re-invented, so I had to get new frames. We were super lucky - we got out of there with a bill for my new glasses plus the appointment for - $264. That's not a lot - I was expecting worse. The girl said we might have another discount and if so, they would apply that and send us a check for the difference. I'm SO lucky that I haven't really needed glasses (except cheaters) until a few years ago.

@Su_Sanne and @Nonni F a little bit about me. My hubby (DH) and I live on a "compound" or "ranch" - which consists of about 75 acres in Oklahoma - in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains - in Cherokee County - which is the head of The Cherokee Nation. There are lots of shenanigans going on around here all the time - you'll hear more about them later. Several family members live on the property and there's always something going on.

:heartpumpred: Thank you for these insights into your lives. Is it very lonely there? I wish I could see it. It must be a dream to live in such a wonderful nature. Please tell us more about it. My eyesight is not so great either. I have a lens curvature (am curious what the translator makes of that word (haha). But I manage well with my glasses.

Thank you for these insights into your lives, Cheryl :heartpumpred: Is it very lonely there? I wish I could see it. It must be a dream to live in such a wonderful nature. Please tell us more about it. My eyesight is not so great either. I have a lens curvature (I am curious what the translator makes of that word (haha). But I manage well with my glasses.
