Good morning, my lOves! Hope everyone is doing great today. I slept well last night and I am feeling a lot better in my head too.
Once the weather turns back to "normal winter" whatever that is at this point, I know my mood will shift but for now, I am going with the good. :cloud9:

My day wasn't as quiet as I expected but it was worth it. Early on, Cait texted that her friend/coworker was coming over to see the babies. She loves all of Cait's stories and hadn't met these girls yet. Her DH was away on a work trip so I invited her for dinner. This woman is one of the sweetest, funniest, and kindest people I have ever met. Talk about a heart of gold- that is her personified. We ordered pizza (see-- the pizza money envelope comes in handy *G*) and we were LOBO at some of her stories. She is from Ecuador but met her Ecuadorian husband here in NJ. I couldn't stop laughing at her stories of how they met and their adventures. It is absolutely refreshing and eye-opening to hear about other cultures and lived experiences too.

I wanted to make sure the house was sort of tidy so I ran the vacuum and it broke. pfft. A dog toy got sucked into and I can't find it! I took some of it apart and noticed the hose was cracked too. Gary ordered a new hose, let's hope that when he fixes that, he finds the dog toy.

Jaida is going back to the surgeon today for her 8-week recheck and x-rays. Send good thoughts please, I am still worried that she isn't healing properly since she still tripods often when she is standing. I know that the full recovery is 4 months so she is only halfway through but the backslide in January is causing me to be concerned.

BEST FEELING EVER:
I got paid yesterday!! This was my first paycheck (direct deposit to be precise LOL) in 22 years!!!!!! :dancingbfly: I have been cleaning houses all that time but a real paycheck- very exciting!!

Sending everyone happy vibes since I actually have some to spare LOL!!! :sparkles1:

@vickyday Thank you for thinking of me with that quote. The only problem is that there isn't any snow left. I don't think my area has had a good snow pack/spring runoff in a few years. What that means for a "fine summer," I can only hope for the best!
Was Mark very tired at the end of his shift yesterday? I hope it wasn;t too bad but both of you, please make sure that you don't overdo it and relapse.

@BrightEyes Isn't it incredible what a bit of sunshine can do? When was the last time you saw me so energetic and positive on a Feb morning :rotfl: Enjoy the nice weather while you can.
I searched Hoopla and Libby for Jane in Love and it's not there. I'll have to check the library website for a hard copy.
so-- 4 out of 5 of your kids lived at home... were they married/had SOs at the time? I feel awful for them that this is how they might start their marriage. The alternative is they rent and lose any opportunity to save for a house and they get stuck renting forever. That's not what any of us want. It's such a disappointing situation. Not that renting is bad but I know they would prefer to own their own place. YKWIM.
That's awesome that you are doing a lot more AJ-style pages. I love that style probably more than anything else.

@taxed4ever Wow, your Gary was feeling good enough after the surgery to hike a bit! Fantastic!! I hope that my Gary will be feeling physically and mentally better in the spring so we can take the dogs hiking once J gets cleared for full activity.
Were you able to get out for a walk before the rain began yesterday? If your backup plan was scrapping, that also is a fun thing to do.
Hahahaha! I love that you had to try several times to get the numbers of hikers right, doesn't sound surprising though. ;) 17 is a good-sized group too. Do you have a "sweeper" on your hikes to make sure there are no stragglers? Scott's boss was the sweeper and I didn't want to end up at the back so he'd think that I didn't know what I was doing. tee-hee!
Oh no, that's so hard for SIL's son and family. I guess it is much more common than I realize. I know statically speaking that the number of adult children living with their parents is increasing. But to hear of so many "real-life cases" is both heartbreaking and reassuring. If that makes sense.

Meanwhile we have the 1% doing:

:soapbox:

Again, if any of you have advice on how we can help Cait and Tom create a space of their own in a house that doesn't have tons of space-- I'd love to hear it. We all nixed the idea of using the fire escape ladder as an alternative entranceway. :floorlaugh:

@Cherylndesigns I hope that the sun kept your spirits up as much as they can be., the gloom can't help. Why am I not surprised that Ava bounced back so fast?
I can't imagine how hard it is at night when everything is quiet. I'm glad that Daisy and Sam keep you and each other company but it sure as heck isn't the same :brokenheart:
Thanks for sharing about Steph living with you too. I appreciate it!

I'd got to get moving. I have to get J all dosed up on her sedatives and the vet is not-quite an hour from my house. Long day but it is what it is.

Make it a great one!! xo

Good Morning!
Well, the health saga continues for me, darn it!
Sunday evening I noticed that my tongue and my swallowing felt different when I was eating some wheat thins, but I didn’t think too much about it until I woke up with a sore throat on Monday and the “weirdness” was still evident to my tongue and throat, I took a look in the mirror at my tongue. Sure enough, it was covered with something (yeast, I have since learned). I immediately called the doctor and got an appointment for this morning.

When I googled, “why is my tongue white?” there were several reasons given from being dehydrated to taking antibiotics and the balance of bacteria in my mouth being messed up. I didn’t think I was on an antibiotic. But when I googled the COVID meds I’ve been on, it turns out that one of them is an antibiotic.

I got up and showered to get ready for my appointment this morning. Got in the car, drove less than .25 miles when I noticed the engine light on. GREAT! I turned around and went back to the house and called Mark. He came to my rescue and we made it to my appointment being just a few minutes late.

“It” is, indeed, from taking the antibiotic (the doctor never did really call “it” anything). So, now I have a prescription for a “swish and swallow” mouth rinse. It is not “supposed” to upset my stomach! Is that true for someone with IBS? I guess we shall see!

Now to figure out why the engine light is on again! I hope the oil problem of a couple weeks ago isn't back to haunt us!

And life goes on............

Morning everyone! It is going to be a spectacular day of sunshine today!! I am so happy to see the sun again!!:dancing6:I am going to make the best of it as tomorrow we are back to the gloomy grey, darn!! I am going to see if my sister Wendy would like to do the Stoney Hill Hike with me, she has never been there and it is such a pretty hike!! I worked on a layout yesterday and hope to finish that off this morning, then hopefully after lunch Wendy and I will be out in the fresh air. If she can't go then I might just go on my own. Nothing much else happening here today,

@faerywings - Congrats on the paycheck!! Hooray!! How nice that you had such great company for supper last night! She sounds like a real sweetheart!! Hope that you can figure something out in the way of living arrangements if Cait and Tom end up living with you for a bit. It might be the only way that they can save enough for a great down payment on a house. The hardest part is getting into the housing market, its almost impossible for young couples to do now and it really is sad for them!! Have you looked at IKEA for ideas for small spaces, they have some great options! Oh and yes I did get out for a walk yesterday, however the grey clouds arrived just as I was heading out.

@vickyday - Oh nooo!!! It seems to be never ending for you!! Ugh on the nasty white tongue and the now the car is giving you problems again too?!!! Hope the rest of your day improves immensely!! Sending you lot of good vibes today!! :sparkles1::sparkles1:

Waving :wavinghello: to everyone that pops in here this morning, I need to go dry my hair and grab another coffee. Have a great day everyone!

Wow... animaatjes-smilies-07893.gif Lots of sunshine here, too!!! Won't last long with cloudy skies and rain/snow heading our way. The storm that hit southern California will soon be here. I will enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. I slept in this morning until the phone woke me at 8:30. I was watching "Apollo 13" on Netflix last evening then read for over an hour before going to sleep at 10PM.

Guess what??? No LOs to post this morning!! Although I did post the one I did for Anna's Lift Challenge late yesterday afternoon. I love Sylvia's LO we were to lift. I really enjoy making an image with multiple frames on it. I had saved the multiple frames I made when doing another challenge thank goodness so it was a matter of putting them on the photo, moving them around, enlarging them and erasing the underlaying frames where they overlap.
BTW, did you see the wonderful news that Mixed Media by Erin is now a permanent designer here at OScraps!!!! :bowdown2::smiliesdoingwave: Fantastic News!!! I swear that OScraps has the crème del a crème of designers! I always have to check out "New Releases" every morning. That usually gets my creative juices flowing.

BRB - need more coffee!!!

@faerywings Hi Chris, .... just jumping in here today because a facebook friend sent me a link to George the Mouse in a Log Pile House. I don't know if you've seen the house/village but it's amazing. If we are allowed links here, I'll send you a couple, but you can just google it and see for yourself. On the other hand, you probably know about him already, LOL.
Hope your day is going well.

Good afternoon.

Bright and sunny here today too. It's 60 out right now. Ava and I are going out to lunch about 2, so I thought I'd better get a couple of things done before we leave. She wants to go to Tropical Smoothie and I think I'll get one of their yummy sandwiches for my dinner tonight. I actually cooked last night - in a real skillet - the second time in a week that I've cooked. Go me. I subscribed to that Hungry Root and have only gotten one box, and skipped the next two because they send so much. Every meal I fix is enough for 2, not 1. So, it gives me an extra meal to put back for another dinner. I had tofu, seasoned brown rice, shaved broccoli with avocado sauce and I used the last egg substitute container. It was yummy. I need to get on there today and decide when I want the next box. I probably told you all this, but after I filled out the lengthy profile, I was "vegan/vegetarian/Mediterranean". Forgive me if I've already told you this. I had forgotten how much I loved tofu.

Chris @faerywings congratulations on getting your first paycheck in 22 years!!! What a fun evening you much have had with Cait's friend being there for dinner. Glad I could be of some assistance on the adult children living at home. It's not always easy, but like I said, if you all get along, it makes it a lot easier.

Yes, Daisy and Sam and I are keeping each other company.

Kay @BrightEyes that's awesome news about Erin! I'm a huge fan of her work!

I'm going to scoot now - I made a LO for "Songs we Love" for Feb and want to get it posted.

Hugs to everybody who drops in. HAGD
