Well, well, well. It finally snowed. Believe it or not, I am not cursing at it like I usually do. We didn't get that much, only 3-4 inches and my road looks pretty well plowed. I always joked that if you can off our street, the rest of town should be ok. We'll be above freezing by midday which will help. It's gonna be a b**** to shovel though, it's all slush underneath. I don't think the snowblower is going to be useful, it will only clog up.

I got a bunch of little things done around the house yesterday. The bummer-- I miscounted the pages I had done for Christopher's book. I thought I was working on #13- it was only #12. blergh. I started a card for my niece and between the two of those, I was bleary-eyed by 2 pm. So what did I do? I started a new puzzle. So good for my already dry and scratchy eyes. Hahaha! It's an edgeless one and the "edges" are all curves. We have the bottom edge mostly done but the rest of it is just bits and pieces put together.

Cait is home today, She works remotely on Tuesdays so her day didn't change even though the college is doing all virtual classes today. Scott and Sam are here and they have plans to go to my ILs for dinner and games. I am so happy he is doing that again, as he told me they are *his* grandparents.
[small sidenote for the newer people: Scott and his ex-GF of 9 years used to do that with them all of the time. He has worked really hard to reclaim a lot of places/traditions that he had spent with her. It was a bad breakup, to say the least]. I am beyond happy and proud of him that is is in such a good place ♥

I keep looking at the calendar and I really should work on our taxes today. I know there s still plenty of time but in the last few years small issues had popped up for the kids and it took a long time for all of us to figure out what was going on.

I have some end-of-the-month CheeryO things to do today, I can't believe that tomorrow is March. :cloud9:

@LSlycord hehe, I hope you got the house cleaned yesterday so you can have it cleaned today :)
You will be just fine getting your schedule running smoothly when you start working. I bet it will take no time to fall into place. Thanks for the info on the lick mats, once it is warmer I'm going to have to get my girls in the tub.
Did you hear that? That was a bit of my heart breaking :( I hate that you are nervous when the kids don't have their passports. It's awful

@BrightEyes Hope that the wind settles soon, even the less windy days are too much. That's a smart move to sleep in the wrist brace. BTDT (been there, done that-- and I just added it to the acronym thread) and you are right, it hurts.
Your quesadillas sound yummy, I should make some soon. I love anything with cheese.

@Nonni F Oh wow, that photo is amazing! And the owl is a beauty.
I hope that your roses made it with the crazy weather changes and snow. My neighbor shared of photo of her daffodils popping up already (she gets more sun than I do, mine are still underground), it's way too early for these guys. My tiger lilies are popping up but nothing can kill them. *Nothing* haha!

@vickyday My nephew is going to be 12 (Linda, I hear your jaw drop again! LOL. Linda was here when he was born, Trudy too), and every year I make a small album of the past year. I was going to stop when he turned 10, but my SIL loves them so I kept going. He is a cutie. I don't put all of his pages in the gallery, for some of them I use non-O designs and I don't bother tracking credits. There are a few in my gallery, but not a lot.
You have been getting so much done around the house, good for you!
Quick check-in on Ilene, how is she? Will she be getting back to her own house soon?

@taxed4ever That's so nice of your Gary to help the neighbors out, he is such a good guy.
Happy belated anniversary! I saw your wedding photo on FB and I love it every time I see it. :heartpumplove:You have a busy week, full of celebrations.
I asked Scott about paying a fee if I went on a hike that he was leading and he said that he'd find a way around it. He's also going to help me find some hiking boots too.
How did you sleep last night, any better? I have been waking up around 4.30 but am usually able to get another hour in. What an improvement from how I used to sleep. Here's some coffee just in case you had another rough night
#coffee-2 There is plenty for everyone.

@Cherylndesigns Whew, that is good that the tornadoes passed you by and that the people in Tulsa didn't get hit too badly.
You'll laugh at this story: My family has a hard time behaving, and this time it was all on my dad. Caitlyn was "graduating" from PreK. She was in the Town preschool so it is a big deal for the town, the mayor is there and everything. Her class is up on stage and I see her making all of these goofy faces. I peek at my dad, he is too! And he is the one that started it :rotfl:
They still bust on each other about that, twenty years later.
My guys were little-- maybe 7 and 9- and Scott was talking in some strange made-up accent. Cait didn't like it and the more she got annoyed the louder he got. I couldn't stop laughing which made her madder and on and on and on. There is something broken in us that we push boundaries when we know that we are making someone else mad. Poor Alyssa! :D

My crocuses can be hit or miss, sometimes they come up and bloom, and sometimes they don't bloom at all. I love seeing them either way bit prefer when they do.

So much for me logging off by 8 am... I'm only a tiny bit late *checks time: 8.38* sure, a tiny bit ;)

Morning... slept in the wrist brace - made sure it wasn't too tight, but woke up with the fingers stiff. Took about 20 minutes to get them loosened up enough to try typing... UGH! I found a smaller brace this morning so will try it out tonight. I didn't get the laundry done yesterday so that is on the 'must do list' for today.

Talked to DSon#2 yesterday. He is planning on skiing a couple of days while he is here so will be renting a car. He has ordered a set of short skis that will be delivered here in the next couple of days. The timing of his trip may change as he is on Jury call until Friday. If he doesn't get a call, he hopes to fly in on Sat or Sunday. If he gets a call, the boys' trips will be postponed until the last week in March. I am flexible about when they come. Since DSon#1 and wife are driving they are able to work with whatever time works for DSon#2.

Glad to see Feb come to an end. It has been a rough month but am hoping that March will be much better. Not quite back up to normal scrapping-wise but glad I am able to get back to scrapping again. Always love the start of the month with new challenges to inspire and get the creative juices flowing.

The fingers and wrist is still aching so best let them rest. Hope to be back later for personals. CYL

Good morning all! I'm a little late. Finished the last minute tasks before the cleaning lady came. She is here now and so this makes me happy. So I told you that some of the filing in my office had piled up again. Funny story...I put my folders inside hanging folders. One of my hanging folders is titled DEATH and has copies of all of the life insurance policies and wills in it. Strangely enough, at some point I filed Social Security folders and Medicare folders in the same hanging folder that was called DEATH. As I was doing some filing, I realized that I had a hanging folder titled RETIREMENT with other Social Security folders and Medicare folders inside. I obviously have had two very different thoughts about this stage of life! :floorlaugh:

I got Andie shampooed yesterday. It went well...she didn't mind the hose at all. And the carefully placed lick mat had her standing with her head up. Definitely worth the cost of my new toys. Also got a layout made. I'm not sure that I'm ready for February to be over...but I am ready for March.

I decided yesterday I was going to put my snowmen decorations away, but that didn't get done. I have some cute ones I want to set up a scene on a white towel and take a picture of to scrap......one of these days, LOL! Hope your snow melts quickly! You can keep it!

Time for personals. I have a nice full cup of #coffee1 and I'm ready to get this done.

@faerywings I am so excited that Scott and Sam are going to attend game night with his grandparents. I'm sure that they are just over the moon about it. For things being such a mess 13 or 14 months ago, his life is really going great now! So hard to remember when our kids are going through tough times that it will end. What a nice perk for Cait to get a work from home day each week. I would have loved that...back before all of my days were work from home. ;) Thanks for the comments about my kids. It's such a crazy world now that what I would have thought was unbelievable before doesn't seem so unbelievable now! AND you are right...how in the world can Christopher be 12? Of course, along those same lines, how can Scott be 26 (is that right)? How can tomorrow be Sydney's 19th birthday. Stop the clocks!

@BrightEyes I'm so sorry that you are still struggling with the wrist. It's nice that both of your sons can visit at the same time. Glad that March will be a fresh start for you!

@vickyday so glad that Ilene is well and back home. I will be working full time. Monday through Friday 8-5. But it really sounds like a fun project so I'm ready to get going! Sorry that you had to turn Mark down for lunch but it sure sounds like you were ambitious yesterday! And you are so right...both DEATH and RETIREMENT come. And thank you for the book recommendation. I made the mistake of downloading one of Colleen Hoover's books and I had to quit in the middle of it---just too dark for my liking!

@Nonni F what a beautiful photo. That is just amazing!

@taxed4ever your Gary just never stops does he. I'm sure that your neighbors REALLY appreciated him with the snow blower. I sure hope that your snow ends soon. It really is time for spring! And yes, being able to wash the dogs in the warm, sunny weather was pretty nice.

Ok, I've got a few things that I need to get finished up here. Have a good day ladies!

Good Morning to all,
Quick in and out today.
My HP laptop that my son gave me finally bit the dust, I believe. The screen kept fading out. When I touch it, it would show back up but then start to fade out again. That is not good. I couldn't even get the mouse to work to maneuver around to do anything. I backed up my PSE15 to the EHD last week, but I don't know that I can get it to work in this Apple laptop. Does anyone know anything about that? Am I going to have to buy a MAC version of PSE?

I may have to plug in my OLD, old laptop to see if I can do pages on my PSE6 until I figure something else out. If that doesn't work, I will probably have to be MIA on the team until I get something figured out! BLECH!!!

I keep my checkbook on the laptop that died, too, so I've got to figure out what to do about that! GRRR!

So, Mark wants to go to lunch today. I'll have to leave soon to go pick him up and then grab a bite and then take him back to work. That is usually about a 45 minute event. Not bad. Since we eat at 11 the restaurants are not too crowded so we can get in and out pretty quickly.

Made my bed, got another load of laundry going. Kitchen was clean before bed last night. I want to weave in the last end of the baby poncho today and get it blocked and done with. Hopefully that will happen after lunch.

OK, enough complaining from this face!
HAGD to all!

Was that a recommendation from someone here.....Colleen Hoover's? I got one that someone mentioned here and it wasn't my style, either, so I got rid of it after just a couple of chapters! I can't stand listening to tons of cursing or anything gory! A few curse words now and then are not OK but a bit tolerable......as long as it isn't the "f" word. I'm not going to listen to the "gd" word, either!

Morning everyone, well it snowed all night long and not the nice fluffy stuff, the heavy wet stuff. Great for making a snowman, but not so great for shovelling, or driving in. DH has already used the snowblower on our very steep driveway, so he has the CRV and is now off to work. It will most likely turn to rain by the afternoon Uggh!! I need to get the front steps shovelled and cleaned off as I am expecting a couple of packages today. I did make it to the pool yesterday and it wasn't too busy, spent the last 15 mins or so in a lane all to myself. :cloud9:. I uploaded another layout to the gallery and will do one more today, that will make 7 layouts for me this month, so many more than I have done for quite some time. I worked on Hunters painting for a bit and other than that not much else. Hope to get some more scrapping done and will be getting my end of the month chores done here today also.

@faerywings - So happy to hear that Scott is visiting with his grandparents again! It has been a tough road for him, but it sure sounds like he is happier now! I hope that you find some good hiking boots and that you get to go on a few hikes with your son as the leader! How wonderful! I am thinking that tomorrows hike will be cancelled, there is so much snow out there and I know that I will not be able to get over hill 60 which is halfway between here and where the hike is supposed to be. Its like another world there and the weather is always twice as bad. Many accidents and people stuck on the side of the road whenever the weather is bad! So nice that you still do the scrap pages for Christopher! Wow I can't believe he is turning 12 years old!! How did that happen??? My Sadie will be 13 this March and I am still trying to wrap my head around that fact LOL. I am also glad to see February leave! (don't let the door hit you in butt as you go February!!! ). Bring on March, its time for some spring!!

@LSlycord - I bet your house was nice and tidy and clean for the cleaning lady :vacuuming::giggle4:. Too funny about the files, yes Retirement, DEATH and Taxes! All things that will eventually happen. Hope you will transition quickly into your work routine, I bet it will be like falling off a bike and getting back on again, but without the pain LOL.

@BrightEyes - That is too bad that your fingers were stiff and sore from the brace, hopefully the smaller one will work better for you! I would imagine that you will be happy to see February end, it has been a pretty rough month for you! Hope that darn Arthur leaves you alone and lets you enjoy the Month of March!

@Cherylndesigns - Yikes! tornadoes?? How scary is that!? So glad that none touched down where you live! Hope you can behave yourselves the next time you go out for lunch, ha, ha, ha ... we all know that will never happen. :giggle4:

@vickyday - Happy to hear that Ilene is doing well! Ughh about the laptop dying on you! Yes you will have to get a Mac version of PSE if you are going from a PC to a Mac. Hope you can find a new one, we have gotten some really good deals from Best Buy on refurbished ones the cost is so much lower and they work perfect.

@bcgal00 - Hope you are enjoying a good day and that you are able to get to where you need to go to get your passports! I would imagine that you have probably gotten a lot of snow over this past couple of days though, so the travel will not be so good. Take care if you are heading out there on the highway!!

Ok I better grab some more coffee and get some things accomplished here. Have a great Tuesday everyone! :waving1

@Cherylndesigns I just realized that I forgot to comment about the tornadoes. My uncle and aunt live about 10 miles from Norman so I was a bit worried. But they had no damage at all so that was a relief. Glad to hear that it completely missed you! I guess that storm season is on the way! Coming from the midwest, the tornado warnings and watches were the norm. But we had basements.

@vickyday then I just saw your terrible news about the PC dying. Fingers crossed for you!

Boy, am I behind with chit chat. Good to see everyone up and running today. I'm sitting at my desk, where no one but other town employees have come and gone. I think those who don't have to be on the roads today are playing it smart and staying home. It's been snowing for at least twelve hours but I don't think we have four inches out there. It's at least pretty.

@Cherylndesigns EEEKKKK to the tornados. No thank you!!!! I lived in Tornado Alley in Texas decades ago. Don't miss those warnings at all.

@vickyday oh, no... computer troubles! I feel your pain. I hope you can get it sorted. Are you able to removed the hard drive. I use a jump that brings the information over to a new laptop/desktop. Don't toss it. I'll send the details when I get home if you'd like.

@BrightEyes I hope each day is a little better than the last. Always tough when recovery is slow. Be kind to YOURSELF.

Good morning ladies. We made the drive to Kelowna yesterday, close to 6 hr drive and 3 hrs at the passport office...but it is applied for and there is enough time for them to mail it to me so we don't have to drive back to pick it up. There was a bomb found a few blocks away and luckily we got out of there before they evacuated everyone in the area and closed the roads for hours. It took 6 hrs for the bomb squad from Vancouver to get out there. Good thing the bomb never detonated.

The snow is minimal now, after the big dump on the wkend. Of course, Remi is thrilled with new powdery snow to plow through LOL. I'm heading out for a few errands and then will take her to the dog park before coming home.

@faerywings I've been thinking about taxes too, need to get them done before our trip so can't procrastinate this year.

@taxed4ever We got lots of snow but the road snow removal here is so good that we haven't had any trouble driving around. I'm with you though, I'm ready for spring.

I'm getting out of here, Remi needs to go play. HAGD everyone.

Well, I finally made it in here. I've been working outside - it's 76 can you believe that????? I started cleaning up the back patio - as some of you know, that's my nemisis. The leaves were piled under everything - I mean knee deep UNDER the "stuff" that we had out there. I got most of the "stuff" moved and threw away a lot of stuff and got the dried leaves off the patio - big job. I got so hot, though. Then I came in and did my workout (like I still needed it.) Walked on my treadmill, did my squats, stretches, wall push-ups, free weights, etc. I figure I got most of my cardio in working outside. I only walked on the TM for 10 minutes today. Need to check and see how much "activity" I racked up on my watch. Ohhhhh, just peeked - my "rings" have really moved since I got up this am. Only 1700 steps, though. That's what I get for cheating on the TM.

Chris, there's something wrong with us, too. We "ain't right". :pillowfight::floorlaugh: My dad was the instigator a lot of times - I told you about our church antics. I think our most "famous laughing story" was at my youngest sister's wedding. Right before the ceremony started, somebody accidentally pinned her train to the runner. When the minister asked her and her soon to be to come forward, she couldn't move. Nobody knew what had happened except my other sister, her main of honor and me. We completely dissolved into helpless hysteria and couldn't even move. The minister kept motioning for them to come up the steps and she finally said,"I can't move". By then, the minister had started laughing hysterically too (imagine his humiliation) and he didn't even know what he was laughing about. We FINALLY got ourselves under control and unpinned her train. Sadly, by this time, the whole wedding party was laughing. Afterwards, we were SO ashamed of ourselves because we knew our mom would be ready to disown us. You won't believe what happened. One of our mom's bff's came up to her and said, "that was SO sweet that your older girls were so emotional over their little sister's getting married". Well, she was all okay after that, but we never lived that incident down. We were dripping with sweat by the time it was all over. At the reception, the minister said he'd never been through anything like that. Well, leave it to us.

I'm going to have to go now and see what I still need to do for the REAL end of the month. Thanks to ALL of you for worrying about us - we were very lucky - there were actually 7 tornadoes in Oklahoma, that night, but they apparently went right over us.

XOXO

Arline, I'm going from windows os to Mac os. All of my scrapbook stuff is on an ehd. I'm trying to figure out how to use the ehd files on the Mac in the PSE Mac version I bought today. It's a bit overwhelming at this point.
Vicky, you definitely lost me at MAC. lol Not to mention I'm a Corel girl. (and not good with change) May the force be with you.

I'm not one for change, either! But, I had no choice at this point! I couldn't see spending the money for a new computer or laptop when I had a perfectly good one already.....even though it is going to be a BIG learning curve for this old chick!:nod1:

@bcgal00 YOU WIN QUOTE OF THE DAY.... as if no big deal.... "there was a bomb!" holy crap! ...and this is coming from a girl who is used to bombs. :runningdog:

This world has gone mad! Glad it never went off.
@Nonni F The fact that there was a bomb a few blocks away wasn't the shocking thing (b/c ya, we live in a strange world now and that kind of stuff happens), what was shocking was that there is no bomb squad in our area.
