Crud, I thought it was Wednesday. I wish it was since that would mean that I had already done my food shopping. hee hee!!!!
It would also mean that I am one day closer to getting outta Dodge for the weekend. (where did that saying come from anyway? Hmmm). Cait asked me a while ago if we could go to PA, just me, her and my mom. We decided to bring Ray too, to give her a break from the Two Maniacs. We will be going on Friday-Sunday and I think Caitlyn needs to get away badly.

Yesterday, she called me when she got to school. She said that she needed to hear my voice and tell me that she loved me. Like I said yesterday this shooting is hitting her hard. And this is what gun violence is doing to us as a nation. Statistically speaking, she is not at risk. We have no guns in the house. She doesn't have friends who have guns. Her school is a small campus with an armed security guard We live in a low crime area in a state with relatively strict gun laws. But still, she is anxious with the "What Ifs" as well as knowing that just because you are statistically unlikely to be a victim, it doesn't mean a damn thing in the long run.
Leah is having a hard time too and for some of the same reasons as Caitlyn. She works in an afterschool program with young kids. She fears for them. I told Scott to tell her that Cait and I are going to the March and we want Leah to come with us if she thinks that would help.

On a happy note, my coffee date with my BFF was great. We caught up on how the kids are doing. Home life, especially since her DS is going away to college in the Fall so she will be an empty nester. And our upcoming 50th birthdays- when did *that* happen???? :hurt:

Today, I'm off to my supermarket in the morning. Yuck. Did I tell you all that I had a dream last week that my town got a farmers market where the old out of business A&P was? I was stoked!! Too bad it was a dream.
I should work a bit more on taxes in the afternoon. But two frustrating things in one day? Pfft.
I need to be an adult and do what I have to do. Doesn't make me happy about it though. ;)

I hope that all of you have amazing, fun, and sunny days!

Felis- how is your headache? Sorry that your fun plans got messed up. Your Aunt sounds... interesting. I have no use for gossip either and it is too bad that she didn't take the hint that you didn't want to hear it. And to top the night off with bad sleep, it is no wonder you have a headache.
It is strange that you are hearing more about the killers than the victims. It seems opposite here. I think that the media (at least what I am seeing) is not doing its usual plastering of the name and face everywhere. The focus has been mainly on the brave kids speaking out.

Nancy- what a great hockey week for you! I will have to look for your snowy walk page in the gallery. Our snow is melting quickly and I am thrilled to have warmer weather today.

Trudy- Has it warmed up at all by you? I have a tiny extra bit of warm air that I can share *wink* Poor hummingbirds, I hope that it warms up for them too.
I was able to finish the page. I am not crazy about it but every time I changed something, it didn't make me like it any more, so I decided that it was what it was.

Rae-- oh no!! Poor Taz!!!! I have had that feeling of being swept away by wind, not recently but when I was in HS. heh. I am glad that you and Jen were so busy and had a great time browsing the stores.
That is crazy that the wind was so bad that the pet store lost power. Sweet of them to let you buy treats for Taz :)

Hugs to everyone!!!

Good morning girls,
It was foggy the whole morning and SO cold. So cold that it's tempted to try my new coat. It's come and fits me perfect! I gone with my sister to the shop to try it and it's warm coat, I'm very happy! I helped her to bring the purchases at home, because she plan a small party tomorrow for Welcome Spring ;) , it's not so spring like previous week, but who cares. I changed my schedule and will have a free week and then will work at the weekend. It have so many things that want to do, but mostly to sleep enough :D .

Thank you all for the nice, kindly words yesterday, you are so good support in every drama!

Chris, yes I think our is very similar to this Jewish tradition. And thank you! Have a fun on your trip to PA! About my Aunt, I'm really sad about her transformation after start second job. Till she was in Oriflame, she was most sunny and positive woman I knowed. So this transformation hurts me, but this isn't excuse that I was rude on a day for request for forgiveness, I screwed up the whole meaning of the ritual.
Give a big long hug to Cait and Leah! I think I can understand their fears at part, my mom is same but with the cases of rape which aren't punished strict enough here. So she is upset every time when somewhere have paycheck only with man. I told her this is sexism, but she not care, totally not allow to be there alone. Actualy #meto campany only encourage her. As you can suppose we are not heard anything for these brave kids speaking out, that you mentioned. For us it was one-time news displaced by other awful news around the world. That's why I get annoyed that these boy, the killer was shown in light like some revenge, not absolutely inappropriate evil act.

Nancy, I hope this chores around the house don't was in so cold weather like is here. Did you still have a snow? It's strange but with snow was warmer than with this awful rain. Oh, yes the snow LO are so cool, I use cell phone camera and mine are always in blue. So I can stop admire yours! Later will go to comment into the gallery. Sounds like you'll have fun sports week!

Trudy, ouch, we have the similar temperatures here and with rain, so boring! I hope that this does not hinder your daughter's Family day! Actually they maybe had better weather?!

Rae, I was so happy to read your post! Your family deserved this funny weekend! Great that you found so cool stuff! Hope that Shopping really is therapy! Poor Taz in this awful wind! So they allows you to get into the pet store with the dog, this surprise me, it must be so funny for him! As you probably know Tiny is very small and we put her in big hand bag, but they still not allow to take her in stores, so one of us always waith with her at the car.

Jean, !

Have a lovely and warm day, my dears!

good morning - It is all foggy here but it is supposed to get sunny and in my mid 60s, tomorrow near 70 wow. The snow is mostly gone and now everything is swamp. But it does make it easy to walk Luther. Yesterday Luther got out a lot and now today he is sleeping. I guess he needs a day off from the boys too. I did a lot of cleaning which is irritating in that first I have to pick up the boys (including the dog toys) before I can even begin to vacuum or dust. But I got a lot done and wow I love it. It got my DH motivated too and he deep cleaned the kitchen. But the spring in the door to the dishwasher broke. The door is so heavy it just drops down and today I forgot and wow it pulled the muscle in my back. But luckily it is now better but wow for a moment there I was seeing stars. I cooked a really fun dinner dukkah spiced shrimp with roasted cabbage and potatoes. I like the flavor but my son was not too much of a fan but lol ate it all gone. The Devils fan club meeting was a lot of fun. Patrik Elias has a really great sense of humor. Now that the Devils are under new owners and a different GM they are going all out to promote this retirement. I love it. He has been hitting all the local sports shows and did a podcast with Devils hosts. Anyway we had a great time. Now tonight is Devils vs the Columbus Blue Jackets. They have been defeating the Devils so it is time to defeat them.

Chris that is so funny about your dream. Patrik Elias said one of things he misses most while living in Europe is Whole Foods. Hope it goes well shopping. My son and I did our grocery shopping after the fan club meeting. It was around 8pm and there was no one in the store so it was quick and he did all the carrying of bags. Was awesome. Have a great long weekend with Cait. You too will have a great time.

Felis awesome that the coat fits so well. Have fun a the welcome spring party! Enjoy the free week.

Trudy you are right you Canadians are a polite people! Glad that you are feeding those hummingbirds. I so wish the east has the same number and kind of hummers you all have.

Rae wow that was so strong winds if Taz was almost blown away! I would be scared of strong winds it I was being blown away. Glad the trailer survived. How fun to have Jen to go shopping with and being able to spend time enjoying instead of rushing. And to have found so much that is awesome!

Jean Hi!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm getting a bit of work done quickly and then am off to Seniors day at VV and they also have a 50% sale today on winter items so may pick up a few scarves too. It's still so cold here. It was 21 when I woke up this morning. I brought the hummingbird feeder in for the night and put it out at 6:30 when I woke up, so it wasn't frozen when they started coming around 7. The other birds are swarming the feeders at about 6:30, squawking and chasing each other away, trying to hog the food. So funny to watch.

Chris - glad you had a good visit with your bff. So sad for C and L to feel the anxiety and sadness with this latest tragedy. You are right, even though they are relatively safe, it doesn't stop the fear of it, the what-if of it. I keep hoping that gun control laws change. Your upcoming wkend away should be a fun trip. You all need a destressor and some fun.

Felis - a "welcome spring" party sounds fun. I can't wait for this cold weather to pass. We have another week before it might start to warm up a bit. I am thankful for my warm jackets this week. At least the wind died down so Taz doesn't mind going out now. We can bring our pets into the pet stores here and in Bellingham (where our trailer is) we can bring him into many stores, especially in the hotter summer months but we generally don't (aside from the pet store) to be sensitive to other people's allergies and fears of dogs, etc. But if it is really hot out we will bring him into the grocery store and put him in a cart. He loves it LOL.

Hope you all are well and have a great day. I'm getting to work for a bit before going out.

Good morning, Nancy - we cross-posted. Yes, I understand about the dishwasher spring and pulling your muscles. Our's is also busted and D keeps forgetting to fix it so every now and again I forget and it comes flying down and I have to grab it, pulling my arm/shoulder.

Sounds like another lovely meal (all of your meals sound so good) and another fun sports day for you.

Good Tuesday morning everyone! It is still very cold here, but no snow or rain yet so that is good! I had a pretty boring day yesterday. I got out for a bit of a walk in the sunshine, but it was very chilly. I had lots of layers on but I still do not own a winter coat, so I was really wishing I had purchased one yesterday!! :becky: I am getting one for sure for next winter! I started a page, but I am having trouble getting it finished. Its one for my sister, so there is really no hurry to get it done, its just frustrating not being able to put it together quickly. Waiting on a facetime call from Heather this morning, she sent me photos yesterday of Mason wearing the new clothes I got for him a while back. Oh the call is coming through gotta go. I will return shortly :bolt:

Got side tracked yesterday and closed the browser on the beginning of a post. It is gray still here but so warm, maybe 65 at the moment. Need to get outside.

Chris, that would be so nice if your dream were true about the store. At least now you have the weekend to anticipate and hope it helps Cait. It will be so nice for all and even R.

Felis, how nice to schedule this week off to welcome spring! The new coat sounds wonderful since it fits so well. Hope you get some sleep and enjoy.

Nancy, best wishes for tonight's game. What a nice week of hockey you're having. I think I saw three grackles while driving last Saturday, so maybe the birds are thinking spring. Hope your snow is gone too.

Rae, I know the shopping went well at VV today. How nice to be up early enough to get the hummer feeder back out. All the birds at the feeders must be delightful.

Trudy, living here I can't imagine not owning a winter coat. For sure, get one for next winter! Hope all the ailing males in the family are better.

Wishing a good, not quite spring, day to all! :bliss:

:becky: so much for returning shortly! I finished my call with Heather and then decided I better hit the pool before it got too late and too busy. Came home and had lunch and emptied the dishwasher, put in an order for my hairdresser and my sister for Norwex. Now I can finally get back here for a few minutes before thinking about getting something ready for supper. Boy the day is flying by even though its really not that busy LOL.

Chris - Gosh your dream would be wonderful if it were for real!! Good for you for taking Cait to the walk, it will be good for both her and Leah as well as yourself! Sorry that you are not happy with your page, but I bet its a lot better than you think it is! Glad that you had a lovely time with your BFF! You are both turning 50 this year!! How did that happen? LOL I think that turning 50 bothered me more than turning 60, not sure why, but now that I am in my 60's and feel so much healthier than when I was 50 I guess it makes sense that my age is not a big deal anymore.

Felis - I bet you are very happy that you got your new winter coat when the temps are so very cold for you! I know I wish I had one today!! LOL Enjoy your free week and your sister's party! I sure hope that the temps are warmer for her Welcome Spring Party!

Nancy - Nice that your snow is pretty much gone now and that is so crazy that the temps have changed for you! Enjoy!! Oh and send some of that warmth this way please!! I totally understand the frustration of having to pick up after everyone before you can even start to clean!! Although it is not so bad now that the kids are all gone, hubby is a pretty neat fellow and doesn't leave anything lying around, it was always those darn kids LOL. I bet it feels good to have it all done though! Nice that your DH did a good clean job on the kitchen, I think you should keep him!! Sorry that you hurt your back!! That darn spring has gone on a couple of our dishwashers and man that door is heavy!!

Rae - Yes we bring the hummingbird feeder in at night if we know that the temps will dip down below freezing. Then DH puts it out before he heads to work. I check it a few times a day to see if it needs to warmed up again, but so far its been good. Wish I could attend seniors day at your VV!! I could use some warm clothes right now especially a good winter coat LOL. I bet your shopping karma is still with you! The nearest VV to me is about an hours drive away, I am not driving that far. Hope that your work load was not too heavy today.

Jean - I hate when you lose a post, mine are usually when I have almost completed all the personals LOL Then I am too upset by my own stupidity to bother doing it all over again!! :frusty: Hope you get outside and enjoy those lovely warmer temps!!

Ok I am off to try to finish off my page that I started yesterday. Have a great day everyone!
