Crud, I thought it was Wednesday. I wish it was since that would mean that I had already done my food shopping. hee hee!!!!
It would also mean that I am one day closer to getting outta Dodge for the weekend. (where did that saying come from anyway? Hmmm). Cait asked me a while ago if we could go to PA, just me, her and my mom. We decided to bring Ray too, to give her a break from the Two Maniacs. We will be going on Friday-Sunday and I think Caitlyn needs to get away badly.
Yesterday, she called me when she got to school. She said that she needed to hear my voice and tell me that she loved me. Like I said yesterday this shooting is hitting her hard. And this is what gun violence is doing to us as a nation. Statistically speaking, she is not at risk. We have no guns in the house. She doesn't have friends who have guns. Her school is a small campus with an armed security guard We live in a low crime area in a state with relatively strict gun laws. But still, she is anxious with the "What Ifs" as well as knowing that just because you are statistically unlikely to be a victim, it doesn't mean a damn thing in the long run.
Leah is having a hard time too and for some of the same reasons as Caitlyn. She works in an afterschool program with young kids. She fears for them. I told Scott to tell her that Cait and I are going to the March and we want Leah to come with us if she thinks that would help.
On a happy note, my coffee date with my BFF was great. We caught up on how the kids are doing. Home life, especially since her DS is going away to college in the Fall so she will be an empty nester. And our upcoming 50th birthdays- when did *that* happen???? :hurt:
Today, I'm off to my supermarket in the morning. Yuck. Did I tell you all that I had a dream last week that my town got a farmers market where the old out of business A&P was? I was stoked!! Too bad it was a dream.
I should work a bit more on taxes in the afternoon. But two frustrating things in one day? Pfft.
I need to be an adult and do what I have to do. Doesn't make me happy about it though.
I hope that all of you have amazing, fun, and sunny days!
