:hello:
How is everyone today? I am cold, cold, cold! I am done with winter. I think it is about 4 weeks until spring (four weeks from tomorrow to be exact)? I am counting the days!
We didn't get much snow Sunday night but lots of ice. Cait couldn't get out of the driveway easily and our street wasn't treated at all. She was able to get in touch with her professor and outlined the chapter they were covering in class at home. Smarter to do that then slide off of the road. Not to mention her car needs brakes desperately. She is taking mine to school today and I will drive hers since I only need to go to the supermarket.

I didn't make it to the hospital to get my MRI CD, but I will do that on Thursday I think. Or maybe not. Gary just called out to me that we might be getting more snow tomorrow night. Ugh!!!!
What.Ev.Er.

Yup, not much happening here, food shopping and pharmacy. I should try to stay off of my feet, my ankle is really starting to hurt lately. I see the Dr on Monday and I guess we will make the next steps. I don't think that I have a choice other than surgery. The cyst has doubled in size since September so it isn't going anywhere.

have a fantastic day!!! Muah!

Jeanette- How nice to get out and walk your dog in the sunshine. Whisky loves to go on walks but it has been way too cold and slippery. As soon as it warms up, I hope to do that a lot. I am sad to hear that it will get colder but at least it will only be rain.
*fingers and toes crossed for the job applications*
I like having my kids around too. And yes, hearing them laugh is the best sound ever.
I didn't do much housework, just laundry and dishes. I even scrapped a page for the Bingo Challenge.

Kay- good thing that you double checked the info for the restaurant. That wouldn't have been fun having to wait for the family only to find out that they were next door. I am happy that your stomach cooperated! You have an exciting week. Hope that the snow didn't hamper your plans.

Trudy- Happy Family back to you from the US. Good job with the stairs- you are getting there and I can't wait to see them when they are done.
Whew, what a relief to have your car back. Crazy how much snow that you got!!
I love that painting!! I think I see a pelican in there- the beak is the grey paint looking left :p

Rae- as always, your work ethic and time mgt are the best it can be. So smart to relax a bit an work a bit.
Great to hear that you had a good visit with B. I know that you can't talk about her too much but I like hearing that she is happy when you see her.

Karen- congrats on the GSO!!! :first: I think I about fainted when one of my LOs got picked. More snow for you too? This weather is bananas. Chili and soups are good to make when it is like that. I don't eat chili anymore but I still love soups.

felis- I am glad that popped in even though you weren't planning on it.
I love your "visions" in Trudy's painting. Leah shared a painting that she did- abstract oils- and we had a lot of fun sharing what we saw in it.
Good luck to your mom as she interviews for jobs.

jean- OMG!! I am so sad to hear that you were in the hospital. *very gentle hugs* I have heard that pancreatitis is very painful. I wish I could do something to help. I know that your DH is taking good care of you. Let us know if there is anything that we can do from our side of the computers-- I am sending you good, healing thoughts. xoxo

Woke up to about 2" of snow... and it is still snowing. Suppose to stop by noon today so may be able to get to the Post Office later this afternoon. It is 22* so would rather stay inside all day but bills must get paid. DD#1 said I didn't need to pick up the great-grands at noon tomorrow as their dad has taken the week off to work on their house to get it ready to go on sale. DD#1 has a sewing class that day and usually is the one to pick them up

Jean, so sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Gentle hugs for you and hope you get to feeling much better soon.

Trudy, what a fabulous painting! Love all the movement in it. Makes me want to dig out my painting supplies... but already have too much on my "to do" list.

Rae, glad you had a visit with B. Hope you get your baking done. Yep, freezing some is a great idea. I do that alot as I can't eat it all up before it goes stale. I'm debating between baking some muffins this morning or having waffles with blueberries [that are in the freezer].

Karen, I saw your LO in the GSO thread... so happy for you. Always a thrill to have others recognize the hard work that goes into a page.

Chris, I was hoping that your area wouldn't have any more snow.. but guess winter is holding on there. I hear you about being ready for spring to arrive. I will be glad when it does. But, hate the going on/off of daylight saving times. Our state is trying to pass a bill to either keep us on regular time or on daylight savings time year round. Don't really care which one they pass .. just get us off the on/off again merry-go-round. It takes me about a month to adjust to change.

Morning ladies... It is still very dark outside, I was awake and having my first cup of coffee by 6am :mmph: Actually I had been tossing and turning since around 4:30. Oh well I should get lots accomplished being awake for so long. Ya right!! :becky: Yesterday DH and I got the second section of the banister and spindles upstairs done. :bliss: One more to go!! It will be the hardest one to do as it will require a huge ladder to reach the one side of it. DH insists that he will be on the ladder, but his knees are so bad and I know that he will be in pain after all the up and down. Wish I was strong enough to handle the silly ladder myself, but I suppose it will not be a good idea to be way up on a ladder by myself. I have to Say thank you to all of you for the lovely comments on my painting! I love this style of painting, it is messy but so fun! As soon as my Son saw it, he insisted that he have it! LOL how can I say no to my wonderful Son?? This was just a practice one to prepare for the one that I will make for Heather. The colours are not right for where she wants to have her painting, so hooray I get to do another one!! I need to find the right size of canvas too, so I will be on the hunt for that today. Also hitting the pool to get in some laps this morning.

Chris - Ugh on the cold and ice in your area! I dislike the snow, but ice is even worse!! Glad that Cait was smart and did not go to school on the dangerous road!! You are a good Mom to let her use your car for school today! Spring can not come fast enough and hopefully Mother Nature will not be mad at all of us and give us a miserable weather! So fun that you see a Pelican in the painting!

Kay - Sorry to hear that you are getting more :smow: I have to get to the Post Office today also to mail out a parcel to my Granddaughter for her birthday and now one for my Son too. I put my painting supplies away once in a while, but they always call to me LOL, hope one day to see one of your paintings!

Rae - I still have not gotten around to baking anything for myself, but did look around at some of your yummy recipes for snacks etc on Pinterest. Then I find that I don't have some of the ingredients :mmph: My stomach does not like Coconut Flour either, so I will keep looking through your stash of goodies. Glad that you had a nice visit with B! I bet she is so happy to see you! Good plan to have gotten your extra work done yesterday, hopefully you will not be so busy with it today!

Karen - How wonderful to get the GSO!! Loved that page! So exciting to see your page being honored like that! I will be selling my paintings, my son is really encouraging me to do so and I have so much fun making this style of painting that I may as well get paid for it too LOL.

Felis - Thanks so much for your wonderful comments on my painting! It is so interesting to hear that you see so much in paint!! My first reaction was that it looked like lots of water movement and the little bits of gold were fish. So many things to see in it! Hopefully the one I paint for Heather will turn out just as interesting! Hope that you are having a nice evening! Good luck to your Mother for finding employment!

Jean - Oh my goodness!! I am so sorry that you have had to spend time in the hospital! Please do not worry about not posting personals here, for heaven sake take care of yourself and please get better soon! Thank you for taking the time to comment on my painting you are so sweet! Sending you lots of healing thoughts and gentle hugs!!

:hello: Nancy!! I hope you are doing well and your PT is coming along without too much pain!!

I need more coffee and better get the hummingbird feeder out to the little guys. We bring it in at night so it won't freeze solid! Sure wish the temps would warm up a bit more! Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

Good morning, ladies. Woke up with my back spasming so took a long hot shower and dressed comfy and warm. Later I'll put the heating pad on it for a bit. Luckily the strong painful spasms only last a few seconds and then subside to an ache so I can sit at my desk and work. I have to make sure to take a few breaks and stretch it out later. That always seems to help.

We got a bit of snow overnight and its hovering around freezing. Today we're supposed to get another 2-4". Taz loved it yesterday, after our long walk we stopped and played in a small field that had undisturbed snow. Taz raced and leaped and then burrowed his head into the snow. He chased the snowballs I threw and then would lay down in the snow and eat them. He went for a run through the creek a few times. I don't know how he can do that in this cold weather. The water was about 6" deep and he was racing back and forth, jumping around in it. Silly dog.

Today I'm working, taking Taz out, maybe scrap a page. I've been feeling blah about things lately and am trying to take time to scrap, to perk up. I'm not depressed or anything that drastic, just worn out and sluggish. Started a new book yesterday "The Witch Elm". So far I am enjoying it. It's very popular at our digi library, about 35 people are waiting for it. Its a long story so not sure if I'll finish it b/c I hate to have to stop a book and wait wks to get it back again.

Chris - forgot to say, yes, we too are waiting for the new show Whiskey Cavalier to start. I love Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan (Maggie from TWD) so hope its a good show. We're also waiting for The Enemy Within (the sister from Dexter) which starts later this month too. BTW....I'm with you....I'm ready to move onto spring. I crave the warmth now.

Jean - so sorry to hear you were in the hospital. Hugs.

Trudy - if I come across any desserts without coconut flour, I'll send you a link. A lot of mine include both almond and coconut flour though.

Kay - I feel the same way about the time change. I wish they would just stick to one or the other. I hate the adjustment time our bodies take to get used to it.

I'm getting to work now, so will grab a coffee and get out of here. Have a great day everyone.

I'm enjoying sunshine today! We have some snow but it is so much nicer this way. Later I have a follow up appt so have to get ready for that. Chris is right that DH is taking great care of me. The day before Valentine's he brought me an orchid plant to cheer me and the hospital room and picked a beauty. He has cooked and done laundry and totes things for me. Wish I had even a bit of energy but things are improving.

Thanks for all the kind wishes and gentle hugs.

Trudy, here are a couple of things I have done. This first one is a pencil on watercolor paper. The rough texture on the paper helped with look of rocks on the cliffs.

The second one I painted for my parents 40th anniversary. It is done in oils. When Mom moved back in with me, I got it back.

This last one is a watercolor painting I did for my hubby while we were Cairo, Egypt. His radio call sign was "Cowboy" cause he always wore cowboy boots.

Hey gals. We are expecting more snow this week. Hopefully it will turn to rain and wash away. I haven't been out other than to walk the dog or shovel snow in over 2 weeks. I think I am developing cabin fever. lol My days are pretty sad, I finished a 1500 jigsaw puzzle, read half a book, scrapped a lot, made a number of comments, completed the landscape report for the council meeting tonight and ate much more than I should from sheer boredom. I am so dull.

Kay your paintings are lovely. I could never get the hang of watercolour to my liking so I just keep to pencil sketching. I have a wall full of pretty decent work but haven't done much for years. No wall space left. ha ha

I am finding that my hands don't work like they used to. Typing is still okay but fine needlework is a thing of the past now. I used to make formal and wedding gowns all hand beaded. I can't hold on to anything fine anymore. Arthritis is setting in and as I look at my hands with the crooked fingers and the joints hurting I do wonder what the future holds as I am still just short of 70.. Even my toes are starting to hurt when I walk. Nothing to do but deal with it.

Time to get to the ironing. blah!

hi ladies

kythe - congrats on gso. totally understnad about arthritis as thats why i dont post here more often. typing is just painful and im younger than you but still feel so old - over 60.

kay - u r so talented with those painting

rae - never heard of Whiskey Cavalier and enemy within - like all the actors you mentioned . will have to look into it but dont have that many channels

jean - lots of healing thoughts to you

i have big news - adopted a dog . The shelter guessed her age to be 2 but i think it is much older . Her name is sunshine ( planning on changing that) and we think she was dumped. have know idea why as there are no major behavioral issues. SHe is very laid back and quiet She was spayed but not chipped and bit overweight. was found wandering street for few days and was turned it the day before it got really cold here. ( so who knows how heavy she was when first dumped )

we have had her 2 weeks and there have been no problems with her. she does great at the dog park. pulls a bit on the leash but some basic training will take care of that. yet im not 100 % on it but hubby is .

why you may ask - she is a yellow lab mix guessing some golden in her most of time she does not resemble cooper but at times she does, but more important the personality is so similar. Like cooper she does not greet you when you come home -are these the only 2 dogs that dont do that. the big thing though is i really wanted a dog who was a cuddler - a love bug . Cooper was not and neither is Sunshine but she does like to be petted and get belly rubs.

am i being silly about wanting a cuddler.

the shelter gives you a month to see if its a good fit

OMG, Zanthia, I'm so happy for both of you!!! :whoo: Doing the happy dance! Hooray :clap2:! I told you that your new soulmate waiting for you into the shelter! This is what I'm doing after all, so I have intuition for this things. I'm so so happy for you! Can't wait to see you scrap about her! :bliss:

Jean, I'm so sorry to hear for your health problems! I wish we have a way to help! Please keep us updated! Short messages are just OK, don't worry for personals at this moment!

Kay, your paintings are gorgeous, especially the pencil one.

Everybody else I love you and I kiss you, but I'll have to skip you today,
because I'm in awful shape. I was feeling lack of energy so I take one multivitamin at evening, but probably the boxes is wasn't been closed properly the last time and they are expired, because a half hour later I start have fever, my stomach is sick, can't sleep and can't concentrate to watch or read something for a long enough. Hope the new day, which just started here by the way, will fix the thing, so I'll try to catch up later, but not promises! Excuse me!
