Did you hear?? I said it is
33 Days until Spring!
I cannot wait until I can have the windows open and listen to the birds in the morning, even the annoying one that screams "eric!!"

Great news! I am feeling 100% back to normal. It is entirely up for debate whether that is truly good but it *is* a relief that I am not spending most of my day in bed. After I had lunch yesterday, I was swiped out so I laid down the rest of the afternoon. But I woke up this morning and I honestly feel darn good. (how is that for a switch :p )

Good news, our washing machine is working properly again, at least for now. He replaced the valve but said that the hot water coming to the machine might be warping it. We can't lower the temp of the hot water because the valve on the furnace is also broken. We tried to get that replaced but the repair tech said it would mean an entire new furnace. Who has money for that? The furnace isn't even that old- at least in furnace years. We had a new one put in when we put the addition on the house in 2003 so not even 20 years. But we will do our wash in cold water as much as possible and hope for the best. Apparently all of the new washing machines are made with plastic parts so a new one wouldn't fix the problem.

Today I get to take (drag) J to the vet to get her staples out and she will be cone-free again. I bet that will make her very happy although IMHO, I think she likes having a built-in pillow.

Wishing everyone a really happy day!

@LSlycord I have heard that shingles are incredibly painful, definitely worth feeling crummy with the vaccine for a few days that going through that. That must have been hard on you to see her struggle with that, esp knowing how tough she was through two bouts of cancer. She must have been an amazing lady. I am in awe of you-- on track to doing 280 comments! *bows down*

@BrightEyes sounds like we followed the same path and I hope that you feel as good as I do today. Yikes!! Your shingles story is horrible! You poor thing, you must have been miserable. Hope that the forecast changes and you don't get snow this week.

@mom2triplets04 Your HP story is similar. Scott got Book 1 for his 5th birthday but we saw the movie first and then I read it out loud to them over that summer. I read Books 1-4 out loud and then Cait lost interest, and Scott wanted to read them by himself. I think I annoyed them b/c when I was reading to them, my eyes would skip ahead and would get lost in what was happening and they would be waiting for me to finish what I was saying. LOL!
Wow, I hadn't thought of having three proms- and two dresses to buy. Plus two DDs trying to find dresses while "competing" with the other. Good luck!!

@Cherylndesigns I hear ya, the entire time I was being treated for Lyme I didn't have any vaccines, it wasn't recommended because my immune system was already in a bad state. I had more vax's in the last 8? 9? months than in the last several decades. I think I am done for a bit!
How sweet that you and Ava had a nice time together. Sounds so much like Cait and my mom. She called yesterday and ended up talking to Caitlyn and not me. LOL

@tanteva How did you make your avi?? I love it! It is 100% you!!!
That is hysterical and true- ovens and pots of water seem to know exactly how little time you have and adjust their temps accordingly. Hope you were able to pull all of your dinner together in time. I hear ya on the creative/freezer part.
Feel better soon!

@taxed4ever That is exactly how I feel about V-Day too so we can be old grumps together. Did all of the grand get their cards in time? Hope that the weather is better by Heather too, not as cold as it had been. Poochie seems like he is fitting right in.
I am hoping that Rae is successful in finding a house too. Scott and Cait's friend Sam is going through the same thing, she has bids on 6 houses today and is hoping one of them wins. The house that she and her family really hoped for, they got outbid by a lot :(

@felis Thank you for the Happy V Day wishes, sweetheart!! We adopted Whisky in 2017, so yes we have known each other a long time :D Well, I respect your decision to post or not post as long as you promise that if you need to talk, you know that you can PM me.

Hugs!!!

I made it in the app Bitmoji. Love playing with that.

Dinner got ready yesterday, just a few minutes after Urban got home. No disaster. Turned out ok as well. Same problem today - no grocery shopping done, and the weather is terrible outside, I will not walk to the store today. It's not far, maybe 15-20 minutes walk. But not in this weather! I'll have to come up with something from what we have at home. Maybe we can take the car and do some shopping after dinner?

Still tired, but feeling a bit better. Fingers crossed. Maybe @taxed4ever is on to something? Maybe I just feel the allergies? It's too early really. Went to check the pollen report, and they don't even measure them here yet. But I remember reading somewhere, that if the winds are right (or I guess I should say wrong), the pollen can travel all the way from continental Europe to here.

Good morning ladies. Got a couple of layouts done yesterday. A friend from my first "real" job in the '80's retired at the end of January and his wife posted some pictures of some of the fun times that we had during that job. Obviously, I have no self respect because I made a layout using those pics. But it brought back such fun memories...I've thought of that party many times but I didn't realize that their were pictures. What an amazing thing the internet is. I would not be in touch with Betsy and Dave if it weren't for Facebook. I wouldn't know that he retired, I wouldn't know that these pictures were in the world. Anyway, that layout inspired me to document that day...and I decided to do a book this year. The First 30 Years. Tell the little stories that are untold. I would love to have a book like that from my parents.

Then, Shaun has a project for his post 1870's US history project. He needs to dig out old family photos and document them. Well, we have lots of those. As a matter of fact, I just found some the other day while cleaning my office (which explains why it took so long to clean my office). I renewed my subscription to Ancestry.com and spent hours yesterday going down the rabbit hole. I started doing genealogy in the early 90's. We lived in Kansas City and there was a fantastic genealogy library in Independence, MO. We had no kids and there were many Saturdays that I spent searching microfilm. Well, now, so many, many records online. I did one of those DNA kits from 23 and Me several years ago...actually all four of us did. Last night I decided to try doing one with Ancestry.com. Might find some living relatives. LOL Thanks to @Susan - s3js and @scrap-genie for inspiring me to pick this back up.

Last thing that I did yesterday. I found an old external hard drive while---wait for it---cleaning my office. It had loads of photos (that I have on SmugMug) but also lots of old scrapbooking supplies. I found some glitter green alpha from Vicki from 2007. It's still in the store. I can't wait to use that! Lots of kits. Lots of designers that don't design any longer. Caused me to think about so many of them---Sue Cummings, Amanda Taylor, Nina. Miss those days.

And that was my Monday for the first day of the last week of goofing off. Couldn't have been better!

@faerywings I am so happy that they finally figured out how to fix the washer. What a challenge that washer has been. And I'm determined on the gallery comments...may be the last time for awhile but I always loved comments in the gallery. Decker had a very naughty day yesterday...we are at the 3 week mark and he is very comfortable. He kept picking fights. Hayden loves to engage. Andie finally got tired of it and bit him hard enough that he squealed. I'm glad that he is comfortable. I'm glad that he is acting like a 10 month old puppy. I just repeat that over and over. Good luck with J and the vet.

@tanteva I agree. No walking 15-20 minutes to the store in that cold. Glad that you are feeling better...hope that it isn't pollen. Ours has been terrible but we live in Florida so I expect it earlier here.

@mom2triplets04 I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself. There have been no homecoming dances, no winter formals and no proms for either of my kids since we left Iowa. They just haven't made friends in their high school. Those were always so much fun back in Iowa. Just did a winter formal back at their old school and I felt so bad looking at FB. But they don't seem to mind. And, yes, I have missed out on all of the torture of dress shopping (we did have a few dances when Syd was an 8th grader and freshman) and probably saved several thousand dollars in the process. :oops:You must promise us that a layout will be coming when the dresses are decided.

@Cherylndesigns it is cold here this morning. We broke down and turned the heat on to take the chill off. All of the floors are ceramic tile on the main floor which is wonderful in the summer...stays cooler but when it's cold, it's really cold. Supposed to get to 65 today but then we head for 70's and 80's. I'm ready. I bet you are right, the cold is triggering the pain in your arm.

@felis I pulled out my map of Europe. I see where Bugaria is and I cannot imagine your stress. Thinking about you here.

@taxed4ever those days that one has to do whatever they want are priceless aren't they?

Off to the gallery...got to get a few comments in.

I do hope it is pollen! That means I'm not sick. LOL I usually just have problems with the pollen from the trees that blossom early (and I have so minor problems really, I keep forgetting about it every early spring - comes like a huge surprise every year LOL). Later when the birch is starting, my problems are usually over. Which is such a relief, cuz if there's one tree we have in PLENTY in Sweden, it's birch.

Morning, all. Yes, I am with Chris in feeling so much better yesterday and this morning. I worked on the taxes work-sheet yesterday... only waiting on one tax report to come in. And, like Chris... I ended up taking a nap in the afternoon. Have a couple of errands to do so will try to get them done this morning before the winds get too bad.

@faerywings Glad the repair guy got the parts to washing machine installed and was able to explain why the value was melting. What a bummer about the furnace putting out so much heat in the water. Seems like 'newer is not always better'... using plastic parts that can melt.

@LSlycord I was ROFLOL over you getting side-tracked when cleaning your office. BTDT But it will be better once you finish the job. I love going into the 'Office' now that it is done. And it is so much easier to keep it clean. Oh, what a treasure to find the HD with the photos.

@taxed4ever and Chris... I will join the Valentine 'grumpy' crowd, too. That was never a big day for DH and I... most years we didn't even remember it. Trudy, So glad you got the porch cleaned up and the new furniture put in place. It must be a pleasure to sit out there (with the propane heater on) and look out of the beautiful lake.

@tanteva So sorry you have been feeling bad. Yes, it could be pollen causing an allergic reaction. We have had a very warm winter so far and afraid that the plants/trees/etc will bloom too early. There is a lot of dust in the air that triggers allergies. Glad your dinner turned out fine. No way should you go walking to the store when it is as cold as it is there. Wait until Urban can drive you to the store... and be there to haul the stuff back into the house for you. ;)

Hoping we hear from Rae and that they found and won the bid on a new house.

Well, need to get the checks made out for a couple of bills so I can drop them off at the Post Office while I am out running errands. CYL

Morning ladies... a very quick in and out of here as I am off to the hairdresser this morning. I need to get to the bank first and pick up some cash so I can then go and get a few dozen eggs from Hope Farm. I am hoping that they have some fresh garlic for me to purchase also. What was I thinking making my hair appointment so early in the morning?? Oh well it means I will be back home and have the afternoon to putter around. Tomorrow is Heather's 40th birthday and she will be on the road to Ottawa to have a nice visit with her brother and family, sure hope that the weather and traffic cooperates for them! I guess DH and I will call her this evening and wish her a very Happy Birthday and Safe Journey! It will be a long trip with two very excited boys and a puppy to deal with, glad its them and not me LOL. Anyway I have to get dressed and get going, so I will come back later on for personals, have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon all.

I slept in this morning - yay me! Actually, I woke up around 7 and managed to go back to sleep until about 9:30. It felt really good. I've been sleeping so well - I'm knocking on wood as I say it. I have Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and have had it since I was a kid. They've gotten increasingly worse the older I get. I FINALLY got my dr to double my dosage of medication and it has been a Godsend! Most doctors don't take RLS seriously - because most of the doctors I've gone to have been men and women have RLS the most. Chuck has been doing a lot of research and would you believe that more people have RLS than have Diabetes? It just isn't taken seriously because it isn't life-threatening (my opinion, anyway) - however when you have it, you often feel like it IS. My mom suffered with it her whole life and both of my sisters have it. Lucky is. Of course, my brother does not. We didn't even know what it was - they hadn't named it yet - we always called it "Jimmy Legs".

Anyway, I've been on this higher dose for about a week now and can't believe how much relief I get. Chuck had a very good friend, who he worked with for many years, who had RLS. He had it bad. I think Chuck understood what I went through after he talked to his friend about it. That was when I found out about this medication that I'm on. I had never been on this, but his friend told him to tell me to try it.

Chris @faerywings I'm SO happy to hear that you're back to normal (whatever normal is - you KNEW I'd say that). Also that you can wash your clothes now and don't have to go to the river and use two rocks. BWAHAHA I can just picture you doing that, BTW. That's so funny that your mom and Cait are like me and Ava. We're like BFF's - they must be, too. In fact, Ava just left. She came in with a "Native Fry Bread tine's Day Bouquet" for us. Of course we took pics and I'll show you all tomorrow.

Kay @BrightEyes glad that you're feeling better now too! I've had enough shots for now, like Chris @faerywings said, there's time to take a break. Maybe I'll get my Shingles shot in the spring. And I definitely think this cold snap is making my arm ache.

Girls it's 70 today! I was outside with Ava for awhile, but it's SO windy that it feels cold if you're not in the sun. She came in in shorts and sneakers. Haha - spring has sprung.

Trudy @taxed4ever Happy Birthday to your daughter. Yes, I'm glad it's her and not me making that trip with kids and puppies. Hope you like your hair and that you also got your eggs.

Linda @LSlycord it's going to get hot, hot, hot and then you'll be complaining of the humidity. ROTF - enjoy the "cold" while you can - trust me. wink wink. We always had tile floors too and they can be cold, but I love them! I have tile in my bathrooms that looks like wood. I was so over the big square tiles that we'd had for years. I love my "wood tile" though. They match the rest of my wood floors, except they're much lighter. We used to pop our furnace on to take the chill off. Almost every time we did (for the first time) it set off the smoke alarms. LOL That's SO cool that you found all of those old pictures and your old EHD. I found one of my OLD EHD's but it was dead. :( I even had a computer repair guy try to bring it back to life. I know it had ancient stuff on it.

Eva @tanteva you very well could have allergies. They can make a person feel rotten.

I'd better sign off here and get some layouts started.

Hugs

Crazy day. Myla training, Driving kids to work and picking them up. The day flew. Oh, yeah what else I went to the dentist. Took advil before I went and they did numb my gums but I just hate the scraping and the all the blood. I hate the dentist. Lunch was soup at panera.

I hate the dentist too!!! Did you ever see my post about the dental cleaning in Michigan - they used to give me gas to clean my teeth. They had dentists who "Catered To Cowards" !!!!!

@Cherylndesigns wow gas to have a cleaning. I'm a coward I can't take pain. I would opt for that if insurance covered it. I have them numb me plus I take an advil before I go and even so I squeeze my hand so hard that I make my hand red. Then I can't eat afterwards for a while. Soup is the only thing I can eat.

Guess my body still needs a bit more rest. Got 3 errands done but then ran out of steam. One good thing... I ran into my cousin's wife at one store. Haven't seen her for over year! What a wonderful surprise so we chatted for several minutes catching up on how the families are doing. Had lunch then sat down in recliner and the next thing I knew I had taken a 2 hour nap.
