We did it!!!
We survived January. I know I shouldn't complain. Compared to so many of you, my month was not anywhere close to being as difficult and heartbreaking as others. And how I wish I could take the pain/stress away from those who are in it. All I can do is send hugs and love and support.
It will be nice to have a short month and then March will be warmer if nothing else.

Warm. What is that??? (8*F right now. I can't stand it)
My MIL asked where we went on our honeymoon, Aruba or Antigua, because BIL/SIL are going to Aruba this week. @$%$#^(^$%*!!!! It stinks that I adore my BIL/SIL because I am beside myself with envy Hahaha!!! Meanwhile, I did some more research for online therapy and decided while I was wide awake at 3 am, that I was gonna suck it up and schedule an appt. Too bad that I can't get into the Online Scheduler, I kept getting errors on the website. grrrr

No luck with the Heating Assistance. I called and left a message, called later on, and got the voicemail again.
I finished the page for Karen's blending challenge and I love it in all its blendy-goodness :) I am going to post that one and the one I made for another Feb challenge today.
I am going to my mom's for the day. Please wish me luck and *patience.* I am helping her with her computer, new Fitbit, and cellphone.
It's gonna be a BLAST! [ /s in case you missed it]

Have fun whatever you do!

@scribler Poor iguanas! It sounds like such a FL thing to have that on the news to warn people about them. I wonder what would be considered a NJ thing?
We are considering changing Jaida to using an over-the-chest harness to see if that will be better for walking. Is there one that you recommend?
Stay warm!

@LSlycord Good for you!! You can do it, get that office all tidied up. Have you taken a picture of your chain yet? That will be a great Intro page to your ABC book.
is the coworker who wants to foster Decker a close enough friend that Shaun could visit? It is hard to step back but I am sure that Shaun wants the best for him. Good luck with whatever you all end up deciding.

@BrightEyes I am not sure who I am more jealous of- my SIL in Aruna or you sleeping until 7.30! hahaha!!! Hope you and your niece have a wonderful time. How is your DD doing, feeling much better?

@vickyday yikes, that is a lot of snow for NC. How are most people with driving in it? I hope it warms up everywhere and soon.
Hope your DH did well at his checkup. Gary is Type 1 so when he gets his blood work done any short-term "behaving" doesn't have much effect on it. But I have to chuckle that he already has a post-appt dinner request.
ROTFLMBO over your biscuit recipe. :D:D:D
I used this one: https://food52.com/recipes/83218-flaky-buttermilk-biscuit-recipe
I have used it before and it came out ok. I think that light and airy southern biscuits are just not feasible up here. *winks*

@taxed4ever I am sorry that you woke up sad yesterday. I hope that the mood didn't last too long.
You made soooo much food! Good idea, especially since your Gary is going to be off most of the week.
I saved your biscuit recipe to my computer. I will give that one a shot next. Maybe having the yeast in it will make a difference. Is buttermilk required? Most of the time I either do the milk/vinegar trick or 1/2 milk and 1/2 sour cream like in the recipe I used yesterday. (which is probably why my biscuits never come out good LOL!!) TFS!

@Cherylndesigns So sweet that Lila and Daisy love each other so much. How has Lila's vision been? It hasn't gotten any worse, I hope. How old is Ava again? She is a tiny bit younger than Caitlyn IIRC? Cait is 23 and already said that she wants a long engagement, esp since she doesn't graduate until May. It is crazy to think about any of it at this point, right? They are all still babies. (Never mind that I was married at 24 myself :p)
Hope you are staying warm and that the cold snap does NOT happen

@Kythe Oh wow, that is a lot of stress. Is the lump a ganglion cyst by any chance? I had one removed three years ago, it was on the tendon that crosses over the ankle bone. If it is, give him a head's up that it was a more complicated surgery than my Dr told me. I was upset when I realized that after the surgery I had to be off of my feet for weeks. Then I needed PT, and then another round of PT after the surgery triggered Achilles Tendonitis.
My Dr said it was "simple" -- well sure, the surgery was simple but everything else after was most def. not.
Just an FYI- it might be totally different for him, and I hope it is
As for everything else, I wish I could help but since I am anxious myself, all I can say is that I understand :(

@mom2triplets04 Ugh about the puppy camp being closed! Good luck with the trainer today

Good morning ladies. You are right @faerywings we have made it to February. My mom's birthday was 2/25 and she always announced that if we could just make it to March, winter was over. It wasn't over...at all...but she said that if it snowed, it wouldn't last, so it was over. How I miss her, even all of these years later...it's been 10 1/2 years. Ok...enough with that. The office is looking much better. My plan is to finish it up today...lots of things got shredded. Like boarding passes from our Maui vacation in 2013. Really, Linda? It was a fun memory to revisit however! That was a really good trip. Ok...off to get my CheeryO paperwork done. I promise, I will make it back.

Playing catch-up here with my internet life. I'm really behind with everything. At least it feels like that. And I can't even say I've been busy doing anything either. Unless you can say I was being busy sitting in the sofa, playing stupid games & listen to Youtube videos???

I'm working Wednesday & Thursday this week. Wednesday is just a short meeting with information about changes that will happen at work (related to the computer system), but Thursday it's the normal 9.45-6 day. I need to prepare some cooking today.

Trying to be happy about January being over, but ... to be honest ... here in Sweden it's still grey & dull weather for aboout 2 more months.

Urban has started a process to try and change the loans we have for the house, trying to get a better deal, now that I'm earning some money as well as him. Crossing fingers & toes, but I really don't think it will happen. But at least he's feeling like he's doing something. I don't help really - I never worry about money. I'm just frugal, and not wanting that much. I think this is the biggest problem for people these days: always wanting more, thinking they will finally get happy if they get the latest iPhone, car, dress, or whatever. Although - it's in the wanting all the suffering is. Buddhist are on to something there!

Going to make a soup and some bread for tomorrow's dinner and then I need to make some dinner for tonight as well. Ideally, I will have something done for Thursday as well. Looks like I will be stuck in the kitchen for a while LOL

Another quick in and out... niece will be coming over soon. We had a great visit yesterday but it was too short as she had errands she had to do. Hoping today will be a longer visit along with lunch. Have to get caught up on all the family stuff today and just enjoy being together. A bad storm is heading our way tonight and through Thursday... with snow (may be up to 5"). So neither one of us will be out driving while that is going on. If the roads are clear, she will be leaving this weekend. I did make it to the grocery store yesterday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. Know it will be worse today as others try to get ready for the storm. Have a couple of loads of laundry to do this morning before the storm. Hoping we don't lose power.

I had to LOL... I like to grab discounted bags of produce at the market. Got a bag of granny smith apples and a bag of what I thought were large naval oranges (no tags on them). Realized after I got home that they were small grapefruit. Was delighted to discover that they were PINK grapefruit... which I love. It was so sweet and delicious. I have 3 more which I will ration out over the next week.

Gotta get dressed before niece arrives. CYL

Getting ready for the puppy trainer today. Had to boil chicken, hotdogs and cut them up into pea size treats and cut up mozzarella. That's all done and ready for 4 pm. Just set up a tracker for the challenges. Looking forward to doing February pages. February is my birthday month so that's exciting.

Ok...I'm back. I have managed to get my Oscraps work completed. Now I have time to do some personals.

@faerywings, I don't know how the Decker thing will turn out. I spoke with the woman at the rescue. She wanted to be sure that we hadn't changed our mind about fostering Decker. I assured her that we haven't. She is going to talk to the people who have put in the paperwork for Decker. She isn't optimistic about it...they live in an apartment and the apartment complex looks like they have breed restrictions. However, Shaun and Syd decided to take things into their own hands and they spent quite a bit of time socializing the dogs this morning. Sydney even walked Andie and Decker (have I told you lately that Andie is the best dog in the whole world) and they were fine. Shaun had Andie and Decker off leash together. Hayden and Decker aren't quite as good together. Hayden is pretty skittish around Decker although she outweighs him by a good 25 pounds. Have a good day with your mom and the Fitbit and the computer and the cell phone. That sounds...well, never good when you throw that many electronics into the equation.

@BrightEyes how fun to have your niece visit! Hope that the storm doesn't become what they are suggesting! Five inches of snow is way too much.

@tanteva the soup and bread sounds delicious. I promised the kids that I would actually cook supper. Brian and I will just eat something different. Good luck on the work meeting. Computer system changes are never fun (says the woman who has spent most of her life working on computer system changes.)

@faerywings The walking harness we use is the PetSafe one. They are very durable. I just wish they were as effective as the head harness at stopping pulling.

This! Wow!

I don't know what it is, but this woman always speaks so I really get it!(or maybe I do know what it is? ... she's got adhd just like me.LOL)

@scribler - I will look into that harness. Do you only put it on when she is going outside? We have learned that we can't leave the harness on in the house because she bites through it. She has ruined about 3 of them in December. We are currently using the freedom no pull harness made by 2 hounds design.

Good morning. No time to chat but just wanted to say hi. It's my last day of work, all my backlog should be finished and I will be officially retired. We got photos and land measurements done yesterday so the house will be on the market this week and the realtor will be showing it every day until next Tues when we accept offers. So everyday D and I will have to take the dogs and leave the house for about 3-4 hours or even longer depending on the response. They are already getting calls and its not even listed yet, just people that saw the realtor sign "coming soon" and want to see it. So next wk hopefully the 2 day trips to the interior will start to view properties and find something within 2-3 wks. We get B's ashes this wk, will clean out her carehome and have a family gathering. It'll be a rough week but we'll get thru it. I'm tired but feeling better.

Talk later. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Morning everyone and Happy February 1st!! It is my oldest brother Bob's birthday today and he is 86 yrs old. We hardly ever hear from him and when we try to call him he never answers the phone, so we just leave messages :(. He lives with his son in the basement suite of his house, so we know that he is fine, but he should really be in a care home, he is not so great at taking care of himself. Tomorrow is my Gary's birthday and I think we will be going out for lunch somewhere as long as there isn't too much of the white stuff falling. We are supposed to get some snow tomorrow. Sure hope it doesn't stick around too long! Today however is bright and sunny and a bit chilly. I had to bring in the hummingbird feeder and warm it up a bit for the poor little guys! I just need to put the finishing touches on the birthday card I made for my DH and then I hope to get a page done today for one of the challenges! I have been chatting with Heather and boys this morning, they have a day off of school today (teachers conference) and are having lots of fun playing with Poochie! He is getting the hang of using the bell at the door and hasn't been having any accidents for the last few days. Hooray!! He is sleeping better through the night and seems to have settled into his new home quite nicely! Mason sure does love him and I think he has made big changes in his behaviour even in just these past couple of weeks! No more tears going to school and no more fights to get him on the bus in the mornings. He walks poochie everyday and lets him out when he rings the bell etc. It's so nice to see! Hunter however could care less about the dog, he plays with him once in awhile, but other than that he doesn't pay too much attention to him LOL.

@faerywings - good luck today helping your Mom out with the fitbit etc. I know you will have lots of patience with her! Ohh that is so nice that your BIL/SIL are going to Aruba! I don't blame you for being jealous!! They should take you with them! I hope that soon you are able to get through to the Heating Assistance! It's so frustrating when all you keep getting is a message! Doesn't anyone actually answer the telephone anymore???

@LSlycord - I think that probably you will have a permanent new member of the family! An apartment is not a good place for a large dog to be and if they have breed restrictions well that just puts everything back into your court! Sounds like everyone is working hard to make things good for Decker!

@tanteva - I hope you are able to get all caught up on things! Nice that Urban is trying to get a better deal for your house loans and I agree with you... we all just want too much! Things we really don't need! Hope your soup turns out yummy!

@BrightEyes - Have a nice visit with your niece today, sounds like tomorrow is going be much like here! Cold and snowy again! Good thing you got your groceries when you did! Great score on the Pink Grapefruits!

@mom2triplets04 - Good luck with the new trainer today! Hope everything works out for you all!

@bcgal00 - Hi Rae!! Wow things are really moving quickly with the house! I knew it would, the market is so hot right now! Yes a very difficult week for you as get B's ashes and other personal items! Sending you hugs as you go through this! When we would have to look for a house when DH was with the RCMP we would get 5 days for a house hunting trip and that was it. It is stressful trying to go through as many houses as you can in a short period of time! I hope your house hunting goes smoothly and you find something you love quickly!

Ok I need to hit the shower and come back to catch up on things here. Have a good February 1st everyone!

Good morning ladies. Well, I did it again - stayed logged on all night. Grrrrrrr I don't know how I do that! I swear I logged off last night - I came on, briefly, to try to do my "paperwork" but couldn't do it - I'm behind too, this month. (Last month LOL) It IS February - finally!

Chris @faerywings you crack me up about your BIL/SIL going to Aruba. Now that we don't live in Fl anymore, I'm grumbling about that, too. Of course, that would mean getting on a plane and I'm just not ready to do that yet. I get too stressed out right here - I can't even think about the airport/airplane stress!!

Lila's eyes seem to be about the same - I don't think she can see past the little red barn that's halfway between our house and Adrienne's. Roger was out in their yard the other day and Lila was here and she was barking at Roger - she couldn't tell who he was. Poor thing. Yes, they're pals - I call them The Doodle Cousins.

Kay @BrightEyes how fun to have your niece visit - hope you get to spend a little more time together today and have a lovely lunch. Have you heard any news from Leslie today?

Linda @LSlycord sounds like the dogs are getting along fairly well. I can't believe they can walk Decker off leash. That's pretty impressive. I'm sure whoever gets Decker will be well researched. I don't think I could foster a dog - I'm so in awe of you that you can!

Ok - I need to get more coffee.

We only out them on when we are headed out on a walk. They are easy off and on, so it's not a problem.

I'm back - haha. Chris @faerywings it just popped in my head that you asked how old Ava is. She was 21 in October, so she is a little younger than Cait.

Rae @bcgal00 good to see you pop in here and it sounds like your life is about to get very busy. That's a good thing, huh?

well training was interesting! My husband had to hold myla on the leash and boy was she pulling! She was so hyper. We worked on a few things DROP and TOUCH. I need to stop saying NO. Also to not scream or raise our voices but to remain calm. Impulse control is what we also have to work on. Lots of homework which we will get tomorrow.

Yay for February! I'm hoping a new month means new luck for us. Or maybe in like a lion ...??? Hubby had to go back to hospital today to get a new feeding tube put in - the other one got blocked on Sunday, he spent 5 hours in the ER in our town to try and get it unclogged, then 3 hours in the nearby city ER yesterday, to just be sent to Endo today to get a new one in. He's sleeping off the meds right now.

I've got a heck of a cold - I have some rapid tests and I keep testing but all negative, so that's good! But I haven't been able to go to work at all this week, which is hard - I have done a bit of work from home but so tired it's hard to get much accomplished.

@faerywings I hope it warms up for you!

@tanteva Our weather is the same, a coupe more grey months and we should be ok. Extreme cold warning for tonight, but then warming up to 0'C for the weekend, so that'll be nice.

@bcgal00 Thinking of you with this hard week!
