How are all of my O-zie O-Fam today?

Plugging along here. I got a few more things done yesterday. Tomorrow is the big shopping day, and I hope to be able to get everything I need that can't be bought online. I am going to the Christmas Tree Shop and will get lost in there I am sure.

Today I am cleaning for a client and then hoping to make some more cookies. Today would be a good day to do that since my kitchen is a mess, thanks to my adorable kids. They made gingerbread man cookies last night and I think the ended up wearing more flour than ended up in the cookies. I think they even got flour on the ceiling! And in their hair, on the floor..... :eek2::love:

They did clean up when they were done, but its how teenagers would clean, not adults. Adult women. Not adult men. They would be closer to the teenager-cleaning level. Or toddlers.:pound:

That's about it here. Have a wonderful day!

Tip on Tuesday? Anyone have something good to share?

Hi Phyllis- not sure if my brain was in optimal force, but I least i wasn't walking in circles! I don't think I have ever been called a hero before LOL But I'll take it! I have been struggling with the gift basket ideas something awful this time around. I feel like I have already used all of my good ideas up and that there is nothing left. I don't know the people I am making them for and my neighbor just gives me a one line description of the recipient. I know that the all like the final result, I just wish I had more ideas.

does anyone here have grown children who treat them with the same kind of respect we treated our parents with? this seems to be a lost art. sometimes my kids leave me speechless.

my kids aren't grown, and sometimes I hate the way they talk to me. And how they joke with me, but that is a monster of my own making. Their friends' parents always say how polite they are so maybe yours are being the same way? *hopeful shrug*

Laurie- WTG on the weight loss, you rock!! The back splash is so cool, love the texture! Can you send YMG down here to help me with my lights, mine are still not up outside and I need help :)

Linda S! what a doll he is to bring you a tree and set it up! Cannot wait to see the pics! Loved the one on FB of you and Syd-- just beautiful!!!

Nana! Yay! So happy to see you again here, its not the same w/o you!
How did your mom do yesterday? Hope she is feeling better and is behaving!!! What a good man you have-- he deserved that dessert for sure .

Serious question (for all of you) -- Nana's comment made me think for a second. Would you mind getting a handmade gift basket that had some of the same things in it as the previous years? Maybe I am over-thinking it?

and Nana- you and Mike would be appalled at the baiting the hunters are allowed to do before the hunt. A month before the hunt, they are allowed to go into the woods and leave the bears food (donuts seems to be a favorite) right by their dens. Basically conditioning the bears-- who are minding their own business- inthe woods, not by homes- to come out and eat. Makes me furious that this is acceptable.

True story last year: a woman started leaving food out for the bears in her yard and then started taking pics of them when they came near by. She was of course arrested. When she was in court, she stated that what she was doing was no different that the hunters only she was shooting with her camera, not a gun. I don't agree with her tactic, but she made a great point.

Trudy- what a poignant dream. I am sure that he watches over you and is so proud of you!

oh Nancy!!!! what a horrible day!!! Here's to a much better one today!

Eva-- so good to hear that you had a nioce, cozy day too! You deserve it, for sure. How is Dr Quinn these days? :D

hi Heather! Take garlic pills if you are feeling a bit under the weather. I am not sure if it is allergies or a cold, but I have been popping garlic pills cuz who the heck has time to be sick?

Terry-- good luck with the hob nobbing. I am with you-- totally would rather cuddle with the fur-babies any day. At least its a free yummy meal cooked by someone else and no dishes afterward!
Last night I made turkey tacos and was enjoyed by all. Not sure what I am doing tonight tho. Uh-oh!!

Chris, i'm making lasagna for dinner. (Dreamfield's low-carb noodles) Gia Russa store-bought spaghetti sauce, (better than homemade) ground meat and sausage, mozzarella, riccotta mixed with an egg and Bob's Your Uncle. done!)

They did clean up when they were done, but its how teenagers would clean, not adults. Adult women. Not adult men. They would be closer to the teenager-cleaning level. Or toddlers.
perfect insight. right on. well-said.

re: the kids out in public. my kids are adults. (-ish.) apparently they are intelligent, well-spoken and polite in public. the thing that gets me is: why do kids and sometimes husbands, too, save their WORST behavior for the person who has done the MOST for them??? THAT is what gets me. everyone puts their best behavior on for the public at large and sometimes act like creepy monster beings when dealing with me.

re: the repeat of a gift backet product. heck NO, i wouldn't mind!

Laurie, hope your exercise perks you up! i know that truck feeling well....

hey, guess WHAT??? i got 7 1/2 hours of sleep last night!!! no waking up, either!!! it's A-MAAAAAAAAAAAA-ZING :cheer2:

Terry, i like what your plans sound like. someone else cooking, and a lovely night in your RV, then some golf. perfect. you deserve it, after the work you've been having to do. and YAY for the raise!!

today, NO idea what i'm doing. i designed another Christmas card last night and will post it with the AnnaSALE stuff tomorrow. i'm liking making my own cards! has anyone noticed how few really nice cards there are vailabe anymore? i blame it on the internet. not many folks do real card-sending anymore. the postage alone can get prohibitive....

OK. off to waste my day. it sounds appealing!

do something you love.

Morning O people!

I was up way too early this AM, but might as well be productive............let see how long that lasts!

Chris- hope you get that long list completed. You always amaze me!

Laurie- exercise sounds great........wish we could exercise together. I do much better when I'm exercisng and chatting with someone.

Phylis- Hope your day is well and glad you are enjoying the card creating. You are very talented at creating them too! My mom just asked me to make her some more cards as the box of them I sent with her when she moved a few months back is almost gone. I stocked her up with over 100 cards!!...................she is keeping snail mail in business!! She loves to write letters and loves to receive them.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Cleaning and exercise and errands and Christmas music for me today.

Good morning ladies! So glad to see you all here. We did our basketball practices/homework routine last night that takes every spare minute of time. But tonight will be better...only homework and decorating the tree! Yay!

Chris, that photo of me and Syd was from my iPhone. She took it while we watched Shaun play basketball and it is probably my second favorite photo of the two of us of all time. You will definitely see that showing up in a layout!

Hope you all get everything done that you need to get done. I'll stop by later tonight!

"hi Donna! don't you just love people who actually WRITE LETTERS!!??"

P, you would love my mother!! She writes a note to thank everyone for everything! She writes notes to the staff for helping her. She writes notes to all who stop by and visit her. If someone leaves her a note that they missed her when she was at an appt. or laying down for a nap she writes them a note to thank them and tells them to just wake her up next time..............she'd much rather visit with them then rest!!:)

When she moved a few months back, the mailman stopped at my front door to ask if all was OK............he noticed he was no longer picking up her letters/cards that I put out for him to take everyday!!:)

Morning lovely ladies...You will love this little story! Yesterday after I got home from work I decided to facetime with my grandkids. Well they acted silly and goofed around a bit, then Isaac wanted me to see his bedroom and some of his toys, so he carried the Ipad into his room. After showing me a few things, he says to me "Grandma just wait a minute I have to go poop!! So he carried me into the bathroom and sat on the toilet and we proceeded to have the best conversation ever, all while he sat on toilet!! I asked him if he wanted me call him back, but he said oh no Grandma, its lonely in here and I have so much to tell you today. My heart just melted, oh how I miss them!! His mommy came into the room and said are you talking to Grandma while you are on the toilet???? I told her it was the best time I have ever spent with him, she just laughed!!

Chris - Hope that you get all your shopping done today, you are getting everything done with all those baby steps!! Hooray!! Love that your kids made cookies together, at least they cleaned up, even if it is just teenager cleanup its better than nothing right?

Laurie - Hope that your aches and pains go away today, You and Donna should come here and get my butt in gear to exercise with you, always more fun to do it with friends!

Phylis - 7 1/2 hrs of sleep?? Wow thats amazing, you must feel so good today! Lets hope that it continues! Looking forward to seeing your card. You always do such an awesome job on your cards! Do you have one of those machines that Laurie had a link to on your Christmas list this year? I would love one of those.

Donna - How nice that your mom still loves to send letters and cards out to people, it is always so nice to receive them! I miss getting letters! My mother used to write to me often when we lived on the prairie, it was always a thrill to get them in the mail!

LindaS - take a picture of your tree that you got, I would love to see it all decorated!! Off to check out this photo of you and Syd.

Have a great day everyone, I am off to work for 4 hrs, then a bit of shopping, then home and hopefully I can squeeze in some time her at the "O" again.

good am - I am happy today not because I have my email back but because I did not let it ruin my day. LOL. I got 3 pages done. Watched the Giants lose which was very disappointing. Heard from my son and we are going to Albany to see a hockey game which is probably why I am in such a good mood.

Phylis - my local printer is in my house I have an HP large format inkjet printer. I love it! And yes I am at a loss to understand when behaving worst in front of parents became acceptable. glad you got so much sleep!

Chris - your dinners are sounding so good. And yes kids do not know how to clean but I just grin and say thanks. Have fun shopping

Donna - I love that your mom still writes all these letters. One of my favorite things as a kid was having a pen pal. I loved writing and getting letters back. It is a lost art!

Trudy - what a sweet story! How cute that he would say it is lonely in the bathroom.

Have a great day all!

Morning all! I feel better today! I had a nap in the afternoon yesterday and it did the trick, just too tired lately I guess. Anyway, all caught up now and feel fantastic today! I'm off to visit my mom this morning then go for an afternoon run on the treadmill then hopefully do a little scrapping!! Nearly done my xmas shopping, just a few more little things! I love how excited my teenager gets every single year!! I think I will make a layout about it!!

I was up early---what else is new. This natural alarm clock goes off early no matter what day of the week it is.

Had to take my little Reggie (dog) to the vet today for her annual check up and shots. $260 later.........now that was shots, a case of her prescription dog food, heart worm pills for all three dogs, Reggie's gastro medicine--daily, and Rex's heart meds (daily).

I shopped online yesterday for my docs--sending them the same thing as last year. I love online shopping!!

My assistant and I moved out about 8 boxes of files---stuff I had to go through for the court case---back to storage. You can actually walk in the spare bedroom now.

Heather--glad to hear you are feeling better.

Nancy--glad you didn't let a little thing like internet spoil your day. Have fun at the hockey game!

Trudy--that is too funny! Gotta love those little ones. I wish my grandkids would talk when on facetime. Maybe they are still too young. They just stare!

Phyllis--hope you have a wonderful day. Just ignore the kids.....otherwise they will just piss you off. KWIM.......

Guess I should get back to work.
