I am typing the date up there and I feel like it should be more ....momentous. It is the last day of the month, the year, and the *decade.*
Nope. Just another yucky day. (at least it isn't snowing)

Is it too late to train my dogs to not jump on the bed? J is going to be 5 and W is going to be 3... so maybe? LOL This past month they have been brutal at night. Bru.TAL. On the bed, off the bed, whining to get under the covers and one of them on top of them and won't move. Then Gary's restless legs kicked in on Overdrive. Finally, he went out to sleep on the sofa. It has been a long time since they were that bad. (Long time as in a few weeks but for him that is eternity!)
I was able to go back to sleep finally and didn't get out of bed until 6.30.

Drs appt went as I expected. The tendonitis is better and I need to wear the boot 3 more weeks. Then I am off to PT again. *groans* Dr said that because my feet are so flat, I will be more susceptible to tendonitis in the future. God, I love getting old.
I also need to stay off of my feet- the stiffness in my shin/heel in from walking too much. Is anyone shocked? No? Gary told me that I need to stay put and to ask him for help and that includes me not climbing on ladders anymore. I texted back asking about step stools but as I was sending that, he made the addition on his own- no more stools either. It is gonna be a loooong three weeks.

When I got to my parents my mom had already been on the phone for an hour trying to apply for supplemental health insurance. she was on the phone for 2 more hours- just to apply. There has got to be an easier way. I was glad that I was there, there were only 2 small incidents of my parents getting cranky with each other. At lunch, I told my mom that he was trying to help and that she should apologize to him. She smiled at him and said that she couldn't do that. She was joking. I think.

I didn't get home until right before dinner and it was nice that I didn't have to cook. We watched 2 more episodes of the Witcher and only have one more to go.

Today I am putting away the rest of the ornaments and I think that is it.

Who has fun plans for tonight? No plans at all here. Maybe I will live on the edge a bit and stay up until 9 pm.
Wishing everyone all of the best to come in 2020!! ::grouphug

Kay- what a relief that you are feeling better. Yuck about your temps. It was 35-37* here yesterday but with the rain, it felt lots colder- in your bones cold. But it is not snow, yes I will keep repeating that!
That is a great way to describe the LIE! :) BFF and I still laugh about that trip. What were we thinking? hahaha!!!

Nancy- woo hoo for the Devils win! I hope that they win again this afternoon.
Compared to other years, Times Square shouldn't be too bad. I used to want to do that when I was younger, not anymore!!
It was making my brain hurt why I couldn't remember the name of the Coliseum. Driving home from my mom's, it popped into my brain and I was like DUH!!!! *slaps forehead*

Trudy- I think for dinner I might ask my Gary to make me grilled cheese!! We are so very adventurous LOL So cute to be able to talk to Mason for such a long time. Your heart must be so happy that the family will be together. Really a blessing to have Heather and Jason close to each other. Nope, I don't think we ever stop worrying
That reminds me I should take a picture of the painting that I asked Leah to do for Gary. It came out so amazing. She was thrilled to get more art supplies for Christmas.

Hugs to everyone, have a safe and happy NYE!

Back to waking up early but this is okay. Got 2 more loads of laundry done already! Need to do the towels plus change the sheets and do them then it is done for the next couple of weeks. That will have to wait for a trip to the store. Saw some new laundry detergent that might help with odor in the towels even though they are clean. DH was allergic to many of the detergents so had to stick to the 2 that didn't bother him. So I will be starting of the new year and new decade with a "clean start"!

Although it is cold - 26 degrees now - at least we are not having snow like we did at this time last year. Been looking at my FB timeline over the past few years and realizing that we had snow on New Year's Eve most years. Do you do a 'look back' each year??? I usually do on New Year's Eve and remember what this past year... and previous years... have brought. So many changes in my life the past few years and past few decades. Yes, tomorrow will be a new day, new week, new year and new decade all at one time!

There is good news... I switched back to wearing a shoe on my bad foot yesterday and it did pretty well. Still have some aching but not like it was before. Now if I had to go out into rain or snow, I can have shoes on instead of the open toed boot. :) Will still continue to elevate it when I can but think it is on the road to recovery. It has been a long 7 weeks.

Chris, so sorry that you need to wear your boot for at least another 3 weeks. Yep... the doc was right... you have been up on it too much. Gary is right - let him and the kids help you more. CLIMBING ON LADDERS OR STEPSTOOLS!!! are you crazy with a boot on your foot!!! No, no, a thousand times NO! So sorry it took so much time on the phone for your Mom to get signed up for supplemental health insurance. What a PITA.. but glad the parents weren't sniping at each other too much. No help about the dogs sleeping in the bed with you and causing problems. DD#1 had to resort to putting her dogs in crates at night to keep them off of their bed. Sorry about Gary's restless legs... that can be a big pain. My DH had restless arms and I would have to grab and hold his hand to keeping him from hitting me on the head... didn't mind that as I liked holding his hand anyway.

Sounds like most of us plan on staying home and maybe going to bed early tonight. I might last until 9 but am usually asleep even before the ball drops in NYC.

Wishing every one a Happy New Year and hope it is a good one for you.

Morning ladies... Wow the end of the month, year and decade!! Here is hoping this new start will be a good one and we will learn from our mistakes of the past! I can hardly believe that is has been 20 years since my little girl got so sick! Look at her now! Although life is still throwing curveballs her way, she struggles with finances etc. But don't we all LOL. She has two beautiful little boys and a man that loves her dearly! My only wish for this Year is that her balance miraculously improves and that she might walk unassisted again. (Fat chance of that ever happening!) but hey I can dream right?? Feeling melancholy this morning and wishing we were with our kids and grands!! The weather is matching my mood today, pouring with rain, dark and gloomy! Not a good way to end the year is it!! So I better smarten up and get a bit more CheeryO like LOL.

Chris - Sorry no advice to give you on the dogs sleeping with you, Storm gets put in his kennel everynight too, he seems to be quite happy there! Sorry also that your Gary suffers so with restless leg syndrome! I used to have it, but since being Keto that kind of thing has totally disappeared for me! Not sure if that is the reason why, or if it is just that I lost the weight and inflammation that went along with it :noidea: Yes please take a pic of the painting that Leah has done for your Gary!! Had to laugh that all you want for dinner tonight is a grilled cheese sandwich :pound: aren't we easy to please!! Glad to hear that your ankle is doing better, but too bad that you will have to continue wearing the boot! For goodness sake, why would you want to be up on a ladder or step stool?? Please let your Gary help you out more! I will start to put away Christmas tomorrow, it will be sad to see it all gone  but good to have the house back to normal at the same time. Oh and very happy to hear that your parents behaved themselves! Ughh for your Mom having to spend so much time on the phone with insurance, there really must be a better way!!

Kay - I had a terrible sleep last night, could not for the life of me get to sleep and then woke up three or four times during the night. We stayed up late last night too, watching a silly movie. Oh well guess we will crash and burn early tonight?? Hope you get to spend some time with your family for this New Years Eve, but sounds like you will be like the rest of us and in bed early LOL.

Wishing all of you the very, very best New Year and may this new decade be one of Peace and Prosperity for you all!

Good morning, ladies. Had a slow start to my day. I was up quite a bit last night so really tired this morning. I had a hard boiled egg yesterday and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Not sure which protein I'm sensitive to, some eggs bother me more than others. This time was one of the worst. I bloated up, was freezing all day, had a headache and then the stomach pain/nausea hit. Never actually got sick but felt like crap all night and it got worse until about 11:30 this morning when it finally started to subside. Of course, D said it can't be the eggs but I won't argue with him about it. He doesn't do well with sickness in others, he ignores me or tries to pretend I'm not sick or am blowing it out of proportion. He's a great guy but this little quirk of his is sure irritating when I'm sick.

So glad I have my Trader Joes Ginger and Tumeric tea (my fave) which helped settle my stomach. So, I'm back on track again :) Time to go return some sweats that don't fit D, pick up some organic eggs that I know won't make me sick and grab some plastic canning lids. I used my IP yesterday to make turkey broth and did a second more dilated batch for Taz. They'll be going in the freezer later once I get the lids. I'm going to experiment with giving Taz a tbsp of the dilated broth in his dinner kibble to try to get him to eat. I've not given him turkey/chicken in many yrs b/c he was so sick as a pup but since he's not gotten sick the times he has managed to snag some pieces here and there over the yrs, and he seems to really love it, I will try a tiny bit and see how he does. He lost some weight this last month so isn't eating as well as he should be.

So, glad to be on the mend now, will make burritos for dinner (salad and beef/sour cream for me) and if I'm still feeling ok, will indulge tonight and have some organic tortillas and cheese for snacking as we watch a few movies. Not sure how late I'll be up b/c with such little sleep last night I won't be surprised if I fall asleep in my chair.

A quiet night ahead and looking forward to it. Tomorrow everything gets put away and I'll start the new yr off with a hike with Taz (in the rain unfortunately).

Chris - accept the help and don't overdo it on the foot.
Trudy - your turtle looks great! Sending healthy prayers for H.
Kay - glad your foot is slowly (yikes...7 wks...ugh) improving and at least you can wear a shoe a bit now.

I'm getting off the computer, will head out for errands and then get home to relax for the night. Have a wonderful NYE everyone!

Just seeing that many Ooos are already there, but wishing a Happy New Year.
We got snow last night and today, so another light coating for us to start 2020.

And, Trudy, the turtle is gorgeous!
