The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hello and hello again!
It's dark, damp, and cold here in NJ but it seems a little brighter because Gary put the Christmas lights on the house yesterday. :xmas1:
It is starting to get a little Christmas-y here, both good and stressed-out vibes but overall, it is good! Upstairs smells divine-- Caitlyn and Tom bought a real tree for their living room and mmmm, mmmmm. It smells amazing every time I walk up there. :)
I put the beaded garland on the fake tree in our LR so it's ready for the ornaments tonight. I am so excited that all four of my kids will be here :heartpumplove:

One of the stressful things is realizing how little time there is to get everything done. I got two more pages done for the wedding album (1 1/2 really) and had a horrible headache by the end of the day again. I also pulled all of the baking ingredients out of the cabinet. They are spread all across the kitchen island. I get everything cleared off the island from one event, another one comes up and it starts all over.

th

I was looking for the rolled oats to make the dog treats and I didn't have enough. (Boooo). Instead, I took inventory of the baking stuff and updated my grocery order. It's gonna be "fun" when I need to put the food away this morning. I need a bigger kitchen.

What else did I do yesterday of interest? As if cleaning out my kitchen cabinets is "interesting.":giggle4:
I texted with my nieces and nephews about the Cousins Secret Santa. Apparently, I had the wrong cell# for my nephew and had been texting some random person that they were shopping for Scott. Ha!!
My BFF's second biopsy is-- well, *looks at clock* right now. My praying friends/good thoughts people-- Anything you have to send, I appreciate it.

So if it seems that my brain is mushier than mashed potatoes that have been leftover since Thursday, (not speaking about anything found in my fridge  ) there's a lot going on in there and regular coffee consumption is not doing the trick...

I should wrap this up and work on personals before my head goes BOOM

Oh and yes, it is going to be *very* cold for HS today and I am not looking forward to it at all.

I am not sure how/if/when this will post so it it comes up multiple times, forgive me. The site is running very slow ATM.

It was a very happy weekend for our family! The In-Laws called the meeting and we all were thinking the worst, but it turns out that they wanted us all to be together to get an early Christmas gift. It was the only time we could all be there together as SIL Sharon will not be back here before Christmas, her man friend is going down hill very quickly and most likely will be in hospice in the coming days. So very sad!! However we were all very pleasantly surprised to receive a substantial amount of $$'s as our Christmas gifts and will also be able to avoid inheritance taxes as it is a gift. They wanted to show us their updated will. They have made Gary their alternate POA as they are starting to worry about their finances and the fact that one of them might get dementia. We were all very shocked at their willingness to finally share this information! We will invest some of it and gift some of it to our kids and hopefully get all the renos done that we need. DH wants us to go on a warm vacation after we come back from Ottawa at Christmas, so how could I say no to that?? We celebrated well into the night with the family and had a bit too much to drink! :drinkbuddies:LOL so the next day was a quiet recuperation day! We are feeling much better today and I hope to get busy with the Christmas party here, no booze allowed :giggle4:. I also have some cyber Monday shopping to finish off and then I should go and look for a few more stocking stuffers today also. The day will fly by I am sure!
What a relief and great news!!dance4
So many good things, a warm vacation, helping your kids, and some house renos. ♥
I wish that Sharon had better news about her man friend though. (((hugs))))
I have been baking for the dogs for a few years now. I have the cutest dog print ribbon and I tie the baggies to the human cookie trays with it. (note to self: look for the food-safe baggies in the cabinet)
YES! We are on the count down. At the moment we have 6 hours daylight. But its shrinking fast. We always get excited yet Dec 22nd only adds seconds to the day LOL But yes, its almost to the longer days ahead!!!
That's so mind-boggling to me, how you can only have 6 hours of sunlight and survive. I will say that seeing you in here every morning will be a fab reminder to turn my therapy light on. I did that yesterday when I saw your post and did it again right now. LOL
Maybe if I remember *before* I start writing the Ooos, I will have it on long enough to make a difference in my mood.
Brain chemistry suuuuuucks.....
Sorry that you had disappointed family members by not having the gingerbread trains that one year. It is reassuring to me that you didn't destroy the time-space continuum. Very reassuring because that is how my family reacts when I say I am not making Cookie XYZ. You'd think I was blowing up the world.
Hope that you got all of the house cleaning done without using up more spoons than you started with.

Hi BUDDY!!!!! :waving1

Beter post this, J needs to go out, BRB!

(whew! That one ^^ posted quickly!)
Wow, it has been another busy day for me. Worked on a couple of CT LOs and uploaded this week's FWP - Frozen Dreams by Xuxper LO. Having fun in the gallery making comments. I did look at the Day 2 - Scavenger Hunt game. Will take time later on today to see how many I can find.
I wish I could scrap like you! I struggle to get one page done... Today's word art challenge is so creative but *points to my head* Mashed Potato Brain.
Good luck on the HS mud class... I bet it is going to be a messy one!!
It is, and I am not looking forward to cleaning up inside after we are done.
No matter what Chris said about an empty coffee pot... I will keep checking it and make more coffee for us all.
You are a godsend :bowdown2: :coffeedrinker:

@bcgal00 I am overjoyed that you moved if for no other reason than the improved healthcare. Love to hear that D's appt went well.

I had fun with the centerpieces, 4 in total, all put out on the main floor. I like both activities but will do more with the jewelry making.
That all sounds so fun! I did a few centerpieces/floral arrangements as gifts over the years. All I can say about my attempts is that hot glue was my best friend ♥
I bought a few bead/stone jewelry kits but never had any luck, My eyes are terrible and I'd give myself a headache. I can't wait to see some pictures of the bracelets *hint hint*

Welcome back @vickyday !!
I can imagine sleeping in your own bed felt like heaven!
Now the tire light is going on in the car??? Could it be from colder temps? That happens with Catlyns car every winter but I don't think when she is driving.

Time to get some breakfast and my meds. (Yuck).

:grouphugyay:

My BFF's second biopsy is-- well, *looks at clock* right now. My praying friends/good thoughts people-- Anything you have to send, I appreciate it.
Definitely praying for a negative biopsy!!!

It is 24 here! :brrr::cold:
It is starting to get a little Christmas-y here
We woke up to about 1/2" of snow.....it has put me in the Christmas music mood!

No, the tire is fine. Mark thinks the sensor is going bad. It was going on and off during the trip home.
I can imagine sleeping in your own bed felt like heaven!
You know the commercial where the guy says, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH until he is out of breath.....that was me when I laid down last night! ;)

UPDATE.....I forgot to mention that we had our first snow through the night. Maybe about 1/2" and the temp was in the 20's! Too cold for me!

Good Morning!
I'm so glad to be back home and sleeping in my own bed! It was wonderful sleep last night! I didn't stir until 6:16 this morning!

Today is going to be spent on the computer working on, first of all, my challenge for Day 12. I also need to find the CT download link for the December event collaboration. I want to catch up on my monthly review pages. I want to scrap our Thanksgiving with my daughter and family...........I have a lot of things I want to do that won't/can't possibly all get done, LOL!

I should do some laundry.......not happening!

We took the car back to the auto mechanic last night so I am stuck at home again! Normally, staying home doesn't bother me.....until I have no other option, then I think of 1001 things I "need" to do that requires a car to do them! Human nature!

Anyway, I need to get busy and catch up around here! So.....

Have a wonderful day!

Morning everyone! It will be a sunny but chilly day here. Looks like the weather will be the same tomorrow, so I will be going on my hike! It is a bonus that it is very close by so I won't have to do much driving. Yesterday was a blur, I did not get all the things that I needed to get done finished, but have a dozen things that need to be completed today. I still haven't cleaned my bathroom and that is a job I normally do on a Sunday. However this last Sunday was a right off as DH and I did a lot of recouping from the celebrating Saturday night. Anyway today will be trying to catch up on all that I started yesterday. I did manage to purchase a few things on-line for Cyber Monday, so that was good! Now I keep my fingers crossed that it all gets delivered to our Son's home in time!! :praying2:

I hope that the sun comes out for you soon!! Your house must smell divine! I love the smell of a real Christmas tree! We haven't had one in years and I don't miss the mess and the worry about watering the darn thing. But I sure do miss the smell! We won't even be putting up a tree this year, we lent ours to the In-Laws as they sold their old tree in the garage sale. They did not know what kind of tree to get, so I suggested that they use ours and see if they like it, then next year they will know what to look for. We took it over the other day and set it up and FIL loves it, MIL loves that it has so many lights so they want the exact same tree next year :xmas4:. It's a tall ,skinny, I guess you call it a pencil tree? I hope that the temps are not too awful for your HS tomorrow, I don't blame you for not wanting to be there. I bet you have a great time with the kids though!!

Oh brother more trouble with the car!! We had that happen to our old car too, it was just the sensor needed to be replaced. Seems it is never ending with your vehicle, so I hope it is not an expensive fix!! Yup Murphy's law, when you have no vehicle that is when you want to run a gazillion errands! Hope you get caught up with your challenge, at least its not for a few more days! Have fun scrapping!

In three weeks we will be down to just over 5 hours daylight so yeah, any increase will be amazing!!! :giggle4:
Thank for always keeping the coffee pot full for us!!!! You're awesome!!!
Yikes only 5hrs of daylight?? But then I guess some parts of the world are in total darkness this time of year. Now that would drive me nuts!!
Good afternoon ladies. Went out this morning to take Darrell to the hospital. It was at one we haven't been to before. They specialize in urology/prostate stuff. D got his yearly cystoscopy done and the doc said everything looks good. His dad had prostate cancer, it runs in his family, so he gets checked regularly.
Hope your Darrell is doing ok! Sounds like this check up went well though! Good for him for having it done yearly. Hope you are enjoying your new surroundings and adjusting to the temperature change!

@BrightEyes - You amaze me at how many layouts you can get done in a day!

Ok I better get busy or I won't get anything accomplished/finished today. Have a great day everyone! :elf2:

Good morning ladies. I'm jumping in the shower in a few min and then gets the dogs out back for a few min of playtime before I head out to VV to drop off 5 bags of stuff. I'll get some groceries, figure out what to make for tomorrow. We have a potluck lunch tomorrow before canasta. If I have time, I might put together a white/cream bracelet this afternoon. I'll be able to wear my new pieces tonight at a dinner/xmas party we are going to.

@faerywings I get it smells divine with the real tree upstairs. We haven't had a real one in years, too tempting with the dogs and too messy with falling needles.

Here's a pic of the first bracelet I made (for Jen).

Here's 3 I made for me so far.

The bracelets are beautiful, Rae! I especially like the one you made for Jen!

Good Morning!

I also pulled all of the baking ingredients out of the cabinet. They are spread all across the kitchen island. I get everything cleared off the island from one event, another one comes up and it starts all over.
Kitchen islands. I think its their job to always be covered by stuff. Mine is HUGE and I still wish it was bigger sometimes.
So if it seems that my brain is mushier than mashed potatoes that have been leftover since Thursday, (not speaking about anything found in my fridge  ) there's a lot going on in there and regular coffee consumption is not doing the trick...
I'm sorry your mush mash brained. Plug in your lamp. Is this partly a side effect from the meds?
That's so mind-boggling to me, how you can only have 6 hours of sunlight and survive. I will say that seeing you in here every morning will be a fab reminder to turn my therapy light on. I did that yesterday when I saw your post and did it again right now. LOL

I'm glad that I can remind you to plug in the lamp. Lots of people have lamps up here. I heard the best time is breakfast. They plug it in and eat while looking at the lamp. LOL Maybe you need to look at it next to your monitor while doing daily O.
We woke up to about 1/2" of snow.....it has put me in the Christmas music mood!
We woke up to wind and rain :angry3: I am not amused. Also have to run errands and dont wanna be on slick roads.
We took the car back to the auto mechanic last night so I am stuck at home again! Normally, staying home doesn't bother me.....until I have no other option, then I think of 1001 things I "need" to do that requires a car to do them! Human nature!
Isn't this always how it happens? We want to stay home until we cant LOL
Yikes only 5hrs of daylight?? But then I guess some parts of the world are in total darkness this time of year. Now that would drive me nuts!!
Sorry, to mislead, were at just under 6 hours. LOL I made a layout about this too. It was posted just before 12-1 so it got lost quickly LOL But in a town near the tippy top of the state, Barrow (has a new name I cant remember) the sun set 11-18 and wont rise till late January I think. They have over 64 days of no sun. And they tend to be negative temps as there is no sun.
Here's a pic of the first bracelet I made (for Jen).
Rae they are beautiful!!!! I love your nails too. Just beautiful bracelets and centerpieces. That is something I never go the hang of, centerpieces.

Its 32 and raining and blowing and just NASTY outside. So not normal temps and weather this year.
Need to grab some coffee and see what todays holiday last is.
Have a wonderful day!

Yes, I am here... on my 2nd :coffeedrinker:already!!! @faerywings and @AK_Tracy - I made another pot so come on over and grab another cup :drinks2:. Looks like most of December we will be needing the extra caffeine just to keep up with the fun here at OScraps,,, not to mention all the holiday stuff!!!

Ah... finally have time to pop in here and see what is going on... When I came in early this AM the site was running so slow that I decided to work on some layouts. Played around with a photo... but couldn't decide what to do with it. It was the wrong color to use with the kit I had selected. I changed it to black and white... and changed another copy to sepia... neither one was right to use with the kit. Went and got another cup of coffee and when I came back the lightbulb went off... :lightbulb: ,,,, blend the sepia one into the black/white one... and that was PERFECT!!! Yes, I know I am a bit manic about wanting the colors in the photo to be close to the colors in kit!

At least the site is back to running as normal. Have a few ideas about Day 3 Wordart challenge. Will let them simmer for awhile. :xmas2 :xmas1::sunnyeyes:

I always love the smell of a 'real Christmas tree'.... but always worry about it drying out too soon. After 3 different Christmases in California when the trees dried out within just over a week and we had to toss them a week before Christmas (all 3 years the Santa Anna winds were blowing).... we decided to finally get an artificial tree.
How wonderful that all 4 of kids will be there to help decorate your tree. And kudos to Gary that he got the Christmas lights on the house. My neighbors put their outside Christmas lights and decorations this past weekend... love how festive the neighborhood looks.

@bcgal00 I love the bracelets you made... they are so beautiful. And the centerpieces are fantastic!! So glad you have settled into the new place and made so many new friends.

@taxed4ever I had to LOL over the in-laws loving the Christmas tree that you loaned them!!! It might be easier to just give it to them and get a different one for yourself.

Gotta go... DD is calling. BBL

Tracy, Barrow is called Utqiagvik which I thought would be too hard to say, but it really isn't once you've heard it a bit (on YouTube videos about the birds). The opposite side there is that the sun never goes down around the summer solstice. We were once there in late June so the sun just went around in circles high in the sky. Sleeping rooms require blackout blinds. I can't image how they deal with NO sun. Don't even like to think about the short days down here in the lower 48.
