Hello O-Zies, one and all! I hope that maybe one of the new members here for the party will jump in and say Hi. Which means for me-- behave and smile. Don't scare the new members off with your grumpiness. :pound:
I am honestly not as grumpy today as I was yesterday. Still not my usual self but better. It snowed and iced all day. Power flickered all day. But I was able to get a few more things done. Whew!!! I hung up the Christmas stockings on the staircase railing. I ordered Leah's gift. I baked one kind of cookie and they will go into the freezer today. Plus I worked out the ingredients I will need to buy for the others and added them to the shopping list. Plus I did 90% of the shopping order-- so happy that I am doing it online this week. The kids have school today and it is gonna be a bear trying to shovel out of the driveway. I don't know how much snow we got, had to be 7-8" but it is mixed with sleet and ice and it is heavy. Trees were down all over town and there are still roads that are closed and people w/o power. We lucked out as the worse that happened is that I kept losing my posts here.

Today, I think I need to work on what I am gathering together for a few Faery-Wings baskets I am making. I might try to make one more batch of cookies. Finish the food shopping so I can get that picked up tomorrow. I want to try some of the challenges too, I snagged a bunch of photos off of SIL's FB page of them chopping their Christmas tree so I have some new material;)
Again, I apologize for not catching up with everyone from the weekend. I tried!

Caitlyn told me to let you all know how much she appreciated the hugs. She is doing a bit better every day. The first two days, she said were pure heartbreak. Now she is angry. Sad too, but seeing things more objectively and that is making her angry. Which in this mama's mind is good. ;)

Anyway- let me post this before I lose it too hahah!!

Felis- 52 Inspirations and a collab-- fantastic gift choices! I hope that you enjoy them-- which collab did you choose?
Yeah- the mice must have a nest and god only knows how many are there. But her is catching a couple a day and they seem to be running off into the woods away from the house. Caitlyn tells them goodbye and be safe before he releases them.
BTW- Brendan's family is the "bad" one. Very toxic. It is Leah's family that we adore. I won't miss the dysfunction of his although his mom did love Caitlyn in her own way.

Nancy- what a mess this snow is, how bad was it by you? It was a good day to be snuggled in watching movies and hockey. Did the weather affect your knee at all? My ankle isn't feeling great and I finally restarted my PT exercises after ignoring them the past month.

Trudy-oh no! Must have been something in the air for us both to be so grumpy. I don't know how anyone goes shopping on the weekends. I get aggravated if i go any later than 10 am on a weekday and gets too crowded for me. LOL But sounds like it was one thing after the other. Do we still have the rolling pin smilie? :rollpin:
Hopefully you were more productive yesterday with the house to yourself.

Rae- I wouldn't mind a dusting of snow, but this stuff is a PITA- makes the roads up here horrible and we are so far from everything. The road that Cait takes to go to school had been closed all day Sun/Mon. I think it is open now. The sanctuary must have been a blast and I bet your pics are amazing. I am doing the same with the decorations- a couple of boxes at a time. Soooo not in my nature but I don;t have much of a choice either.
What a kind heart B has, she loves you so much! Has there been any improvement in her memory? I keep hoping that someday there will be a big breakthrough.

Kay- Have you been to the dr about your foot or is this "just the way it is?" BTW- thanks for the rec on Kay Hooper's books. I am finishing my third. My library doesn't have lots of them so I am kind of reading them willy-nilly- but it works for now :)
Sending hugs to you too-- feel better!

Morning everyone!! In a much better mood today, but starting feel a bit more stressed about getting the calendar done in time! So that is my goal today, to work on getting at least two more pages completed! I really need to participate more here at the O too! Yesterday I did manage to get my first set of coasters painted and hopefully I will get another set done in the next couple of days and then I can get them resined. I purchased a gift for DD yesterday and also got my son's birthday card done and that was mailed by DH this morning. I am up early this morning and got DH some breakfast and will get to the pool at some point this morning. Not sure about tomorrow's hike, it is supposed to be rainy and miserable and that is not much fun to hike in. With so many things that are not finished I think I will stay home and get things DONE!!

Chris - LOL so happy that the rolling pin smiley is still working!! I love that one too! My day was a bit more productive yesterday, but still I wandered around the house forgetting why the heck I walked into a room LOL. It sucks to get older!! I know that it is just the stress of the Christmas Season with so much to get done. I really kick myself for not getting my calendar pages done throughout the year, it would be so much less work for myself at this time of year! I hope that you are able to get some of your faery baskets started and I bet your house smells so good with the cookies that you are baking! I need to start some shortbread soon!

Rae - how sweet of B to purchase something for you at the craft fair! She is so kind!! I too keep hoping that she will regain more of her memory function! Give her a hug from all of us here at the O!! The bird sanctuary sounds like an amazing place!! Hope you get to return soon! Be careful with the boxes of Christmas decorations, you don't need to hurt your back!!

Kay - Lucky you to have leftovers supplied by your DD! That is the best part of Thanksgiving dinner, love the leftovers!! Hope your foot is feeling better today and you are right, it is the start of the busy Christmas Season that has made me grumpy!! I hope you had a nice call from your DD! Enjoy your day!

Ok I am off to make the bed and get my bag packed for the pool. Hope the lap pool isn't too busy this morning! Have a great Tuesday ladies!!

Have to get ready to go, annual Dec. board mtg & lunch at Chinese restaurant of computer genealogy group. Looking forward to it. Then DH & I will visit pet store to find a gift for the evil cat of BiL. We have dusting of white on rooftops, but so far that's all.

Chris, glad Cait is feeling better (and doing good releases of the mice). Give her some more hugs from us. We wish it didn't happen to her, but glad she has a nice family to see her through. I know you'll keep plugging along on getting things ready and done. Maybe better give some of those hugs to yourself.

And, Felis, so happy to see your lovely posts and positive comments!!!

Later!

Morning, all. Chris, I hope we have new members joining us in this thread, too! Your 'grumpiness' shouldn't chase them away. I think all of us have a bit of that this time of year. Glad that the humane mouse trap is catching more of them and Cait has a change to give them love before they are released. Good luck on getting the grocery shopping done quickly. Way to go on getting some of the holiday baking done and a few of the 'fairywing baskets' assembled.

I ended up reading until midnight last night. I am on a Linda Howard kick. Love her Mackenzies family series. Needless to say, I slept in this AM.

It was so good to have a long [almost 4 hour] visit with DD#1 yesterday. She accidentally let slip what my Christmas present from them will be. I told I needed her to talk to her DH about what type of monitor I should be buying as the small one that DH had used was getting too old. I wanted to get it in time for when SiL brings DH's revamped computer back next week so he could set it all up at the same time. She didn't want me going out to buy one since that is their present to me. LOL I need to put my thinking cap on to come up with an idea for their present.

I need to get DH's laptop out and charge it up. Then put my bookmarks on it so I can at least use it to check in while Son-in-law is transferring stuff from my computer to DH's newer one next weekend. Won't have my PSE software on the laptop so no scrapping until the transfer is done.

Decided to not see the doctor about my foot as I have episodes like this with it in the past. It is degenerative joint disease [arthritis] from when I broke my foot [laid my toes back on top of the rest of my foot when my wet sandal stuck to the floor] several years ago. The weather and changes in barometric pressure from fronts and humidity can set it off. I am doing everything they would have me do for it and it is slowly improving.

I have several errands I need to get done in the next few days. Need to get my hair cut...it has grown so fast this time. Want it done before the Red Hat Christmas lunch and I really want it before I have to get my driver's license renewed. It expires in mid-December!! It is the pits that I have to get it renewed every year now but at least it is free once we reach our 79th birthday.

Trudy, sounds like you have a good start on getting the coasters done and getting some of the calendar pages finished. I gave up doing the calendars a few years ago. It was just too much work as everyone wanted them. Good luck on getting yours finished. Think you are wise to not do the hike due to the weather there.

Rae, sounds like your outing with B was successful. Glad she enjoyed it. Would love to see a few of your photos from the bird sanctuary. Wow, to have the birds eating out of your hands and perching on shoulders and heads... sounds like a fun time.

Jean, glad you only got a dusting of snow so you can make it to the meeting/lunch.

Well, need to get the laundry sorted as the hamper is over-flowing. The house temp is finally warm enough so I get my shower. Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning ladies. Its been a busy morning, lots of desk work, doing laundry, organizing some computer stuff and need to head to the pet store in a bit. The manager/owner always talks to me about Taz and he suggested switching his food to a higher protein food to try to get some weight on him. He should be a few lbs heavier but as soon as he gains it he loses it. With all his allergies and digestive problems, food is not a high priority for him so getting him to eat regularly is difficult. So, I'm returning the kibble he's on now and getting orijen tundra which of course is even more expensive than what he was on previously. This little guy costs us a fortune in food, good thing he's not very big. I couldn't imagine feeding a big dog (like Sandy had been) the stuff we have to give Taz. He gets very high end stuff and still doesn't want to eat much...ugh. The only thing he really loves is goat kefir which he gets twice a day.

Chris - glad that C is feeling better and glad to hear you are going slow with Xmas decorating. Don't overdo it.

Trudy & Chris - unfortunately B's TBI is never going to improve. The damage is permanent. She may eventually get worse but she'll never get any better.

Jean - enjoy the Chinese food.

Kay - I thought we were friends on FB, I try to post a wildlife photo almost every day there so you might have seen a few. If we're not friends, then feel free to "friend me" there.

I'm getting back to work for a bit before taking a break to go run my errands. Have a great day everyone.
