Good morning from a cold and snowy NJ!
And nope, I don't think it looks pretty even if it is Christmas Time.

The weather is messing up my plans, but I think it will work out if I am smart. Whether I am *smart* is debatable. :rotfl:
My schedule for today was to get out early, clean for my friend, then have the afternoon to work on the last-minute tidying. This afternoon, we are heading to my friend's to visit with her and her DD. Cait and I decided that we would take an Uber home so neither of us has to drive at night.
Because of the snow, my cleaning-friend's family is home today so I will go down to clean for her one day next week. Instead of having the extra hours to myself, I'll be heading down to the vet with Gary and Jaida for her recheck. He was going to do it on his own since I was working. But she can be a handful in the car, and he asked if I could keep her (sort of) chill - the vet is an hour away, so there goes the few hours I thought I had picked up this morning. Ah, well, it is what it is. :/

Yesterday went really well! The kids enjoyed the day and we found some neat things on the scavenger hunt-- wild turkey tracks and slug eggs. It was cold in the morning but the wind had died down. As long as we kept moving, we stayed warm enough.

I should get my day rolling along-- lots to do, not a lot of time to do it in.
Hugs!!

@BoatLady TFS that awesome photo! What a group. I have to say, it throws me off seeing people in shorts and sandals while wearing Santa hats LOL!
"The night before, the night before" tradition is lovely, I hope that Kirsten is feeling completely better and is able to talk better too.
I always worry that I can't pull the holiday off, but I always seem to manage, at least superficially. No one, aside from me, notices all of the stuff I didn't get to.

@vickyday Stunning sunset!

I think that I have settled for my big 2026 Word to be Peace. I agree, if I can get the Peace thing going, the health will follow.
You got this!! And if you slip a little, we've got your back ♥
It's store-bought. It's beetroot salad.
Hmmm, never heard of it. I think you can get pickled beets here, although I don't think I ever looked for them.
What does this mean???? I dont understand :floorlaugh: What is time to enjoy self mean??????
Not a clue, my friend, not a clue :D
visit a few friends for an afternoon wine/appie get-together. Then I'll come home for a few hrs and head out to Xmas bingo with friends. I
This sounds like it is so much fun, you are so lucky with your friends and activities!
Keeping my fingers crossed.... and being careful not to stress the shoulder/arm. It is feeling even better than yesterday!! :D But this is time I need to be especially careful as it is easy to forget that it is still healing.
Fantastic news!!
. I dearly love the kids but living with children just takes my energy away.
I don't know what you mean.
:giggle4:
Saturday Phoebe had a party for her 8th birthday. Seven little girls for four hours; it actually was much less chaos than I anticipated and they had a great time.
Always a good time when there is less chaos than expected!
Enjoy the time with the family!

Be careful on the roads today! Glad yesterday went well!

Good morning,
Today will be going to the bank for cash for Christmas. Probably lunch with Mark. Ilene is at her son's so I won't be seeing her until next week. And I will probably do some more scrapping at some point.
Have a great day!

Good morning. The day was only a little bit productive...oh well. What will get done, will get done. What doesn't...well, better luck next year. Going to do some shopping today...didn't get that done yesterday. Did get a few groceries but I need to get the rest today. Syd made Pad Thai for supper. The girl can cook! Kids are beginning to complain about no presents under the tree...guess I need to rectify that! And amazing news...the pharmacy and the doctor's office and Medicare have finally figured out that I should have a CGM so the pharmacy filled that last night. So that's first thing on my list.

Shaun has the day off so he is resting... it's been pretty wild at the store the last few days. Sydney is going hiking with a friend from school here in Norwalk. We left here at the end of Syd's freshman year in high school but somehow she and Hannah have remained very connected. Hannah is a senior at Duke so she is back home in Norwalk for Christmas and the two of them are going to spend some time hiking today. Brian is out taking pictures and I just want to have a PJ day and read and play with scrapping. But that will need to wait...because there are things to do!

The last 3 of the 2025 Inspirations are in the shop... So beautiful. Will try to get a LO or two made with them soon. BTW... the 2026 Inspirations is on special sale until the end of the year... And December Color Play will be released right after Christmas.
Thanks for the reminder about the 2026 Inspirations. I always said...and still believe...they are the best deal in the digital world. And I need to get my ColorPlay done. I hate when a book disappoints me...but I have learned the not finishing something that I don't enjoy is not the worst thing in the world.

Very smart decision by you and Cait to Uber home! Driving in the dark is a true adventure...and not a good one.

Good morning ladies. I am off for a walk with Remi before getting ready to go visit a few friends for an afternoon wine/appie get-together. Then I'll come home for a few hrs and head out to Xmas bingo with friends.
You and @BoatLady are truly the social butterflies of the group. I am so jealous...and so filled with admiration at all of your energy!

We are with our daughter’s family in Seattle for the next couple weeks. I dearly love the kids but living with children just takes my energy away. Saturday Phoebe had a party for her 8th birthday. Seven little girls for four hours; it actually was much less chaos than I anticipated and they had a great time.
Yes...the difference between living with children and without children is a huge DIFFERENCE. But I know that you will have fun and hopefully, you don't have anything energy zapping when you return home!

Yours sounds like a great day!

Ok...I'm out of here. Off to the pharmacy, and a book store and a toy store that I haven't been to in probably 40 years. Adventures await!

Have a good day all!

Good morning ladies. I got Taz into the vet this morning, they just love him and treat him so well. He gained 1/2 kilo so I need to cut back on the treats a bit. They did a cognitive wellness check and he checks off a lot of the boxes which is not surprising. He is stumbling more, stares off into space randomly, forgets that he has eaten all the time and wants food every 1/2 hour or so (no wonder he has gained weight) and is having trouble with eyesight and perspective with jumping and stairs. But he is happy, is living his best life and there were no red flags that warranted any action on our part. He's such a sweet boy.

I'm heading out in a few minutes to a friend's home to take photos of her daughter and a few friends and she will be putting antlers on Billy Ray, the baby foal, who is now about 7 wks old. Should be fun. It's cold out there so I don't think we'll be out there too long but the weather is cooperating, with clear skies, no snow falling and at least it warmed up close to 0 today, the only warm day this week.

Then I'll come home and get Darrell so we can go grocery shopping for hopefully the last time before Xmas. I have a list so hopefully I don't forget anything. Tonight we'll be giving Jen a refresher on Mexican Train as we'll be playing it tomorrow night with friends.

@LSlycord yes, I agree, Debby is just as busy and social as I am LOL.

Hard to believe that tomorrow is Xmas Eve day. This time of year always flies by so quickly. Hope you are all prepared and no stressing about anything. Relax and enjoy this festive time.

Gotta go get Remi out for a minute so HAGD everyone.

Your Taz sounds like our Asher...misjudging his jumps....can't hear a lick hardly.....but Asher is cranky, not like your sweet boy! How old is Taz? Asher will be 15 in March.

So far, so good! Cash for gifts gotten. Lunch had. Now I'm scrapping!
