CHEERY O
hello hello!!!
You want to hear something ridiculous? It took me three tries to get the correct month up there. Octo... Nope. Nov... Nope. The third try was the charm. December.
I know it is only the second day of the month, but with all of my sturm und drang over Christmas preparations, you'd think it wouldn't be that difficult. :rotfl:

Is everyone having a good time at the party? Day One's template was a lot of fun to lay around with. Here are Day Two's links:
DAY 2 - WINTER FUN DOWNLOAD
Go check it out and then spend some time with the DAY 2 - GALLERY LOVE GAME.

I had another busy and productive day. I am not sure if that is translating into "progress," so to speak. But I made the dog treats. I couldn't find my little dog bone-shaped cookie cutter. I had Gary print one up for me. It was ready to go by the time I had the dough base ready to roll out.
The doctor appt was quick. I brought my tablet to do some of my lesson planning, and I barely got anything written. The good news is that his retinopathy is stable, the not-so-good news is that the cataracts are getting worse. But even that isn't bad, he'll be able to get surgery for that. Might be a little more complicated with healing due to his health issues but totally fixable.

I feel like I was nonstop moving for the entire day but darned if I can remember what else I did!

We also got a tiny bit more info about Jaida. Everything is going to need to be done through the surgeon- x-rays and everything. We were hoping that the X-rays could be done up here, but it is what it is. Still waiting to get the appts set up and I don't know if I want to get it done as soon as possible or after the holidays.
If the infection is not harming her in *any* way, I'd love to be able to wait.

I have to pick up my groceries this morning and then get the house sort of organized before the chaos of tonight. Scott and Sam are coming over to decorate the tree. Gary brought the tree and the ornament boxes from the attic and it's going to be difficult to walk. But I know it is going to be fun!
That's my plan-- focus on the fun today, not the snow that is supposed to start in another hour or so. :crying1:

*mutters to self*
Snow is pretty. It will look so festive.

Uh-huh.

:elf1:

Love and hugs!!

Good morning! And yes, I am ready to get this party started!:partyhorn:I actually woke up thinking we finally made it to December and it was time for the 12 Days of December!
You sure are in the party spirit!
I am so sorry that 2025 has been a hard one for you. Although I bet getting hugs and kisses and pictures drawn by the kiddos makes it a lot easier. Hugs, my friend!
Glad to hear that Syd made it back to her apartment safely.

On the bright side, though, the extra time this morning means I was able to do today's challenge. There, I'm caught up for one day!
Woo hoo!! Keep it going!
David's glaucoma is acting up again and his ophthalmologist says he needs another surgery. David scheduled it for February because of our travel plans, but I would prefer he not put it off that long.
That would be sad to have to cancel, but I get it. Eyesight is not something to mess around with. I hope that the meds work and that any side effects go away very soon.
The advantage to eating leftovers at home without company is you can go all Ren Fair, grab them by the end, and just gnaw, right? :floorlaugh:
Bwuahahahaa!!!!!! You are seriously so dang funny!

Good Morning.
Its gonna be warm again today as it never froze last night. Heard the rain on the roof most of the night. YUCK!
I'll be thrilled to send you my snow if you can send me the 40* temps!
Hope that you got all of the cleaning done and felt amazing afterward.
(I had a dream last night about cleaning my house and the main thing I remember clearly is how good it smelled! LOL)
I am waiting for news on whether Darrell comes home today, tomorrow or stays in hospital for the next 2 wks. We think that he'll come home b/c the hospital is filled over capacity and they need the bed space. It'll suck if he has to return twice a day to the hospital for the IV but the main thing is to get him recovered. They are worried that they won't be able to completely eliminate this nasty bacteria and it will sit in his lungs which will require chronic repeated treatments which will be stressful for his damaged lungs and airways. Poor guy.
(((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
It's mind-boggling that with all of the medical advances that they can't always get rid of some bacteria and infections. I hope that he was able to come home yesterday.
I love your oats for lunch, not counting the raisins- they are just YUCK. haha. It's funny how once you get into the habit of eating healthier food, you crave it after eating more junk. I am so done with the T-Day leftovers and all of the carbs. (Doesn't mean that I haven't had a piece of pie almost every night, I wouldn't go that far, but at least I am looking up a lot of salad, veggies, and tofu again.)
So, are you talking about Christmas Cookie baking for your "cookie-menu"?
hehe, yes. Linda very succinctly called her Baking List. I should call mine that, too. :giggle4:
Sheesh, you were sooo busy, that was one impressive to-do list!
WOW! I'm having problems with my EHD drive again!
:angry3: I am yelling alongside you for that!

We got another A/C- heat quote and tomorrow we have another guy coming over.
Good luck, that sounds very complicated and crazy.
I am really glad that you survived Sam's Zoo-- I need to go to BJs this week, and I am not looking fwd to it at all.
Is today your last PT Day or do you have a few more to go? Good luck that it isn't a painful session!

Good morning! The Gallery is poppin'! Does anyone ever say poppin' anymore? Oh well, not going to worry about being relevant at this point in life. ;)

Yesterday was busy. Made a layout, left some gallery love, made Christmas crack, went to the pharmacy and got my meds. I think (I hope) we finally have me covered with all of the Medicare stuff. Well, I've been covered but the pharmacy has struggled getting it figured out. The drive to the pharmacy proved to me that I can still drive in the snow...and I can walk through the parking lot without falling down. So many accomplishments!

Today I do pre-school drop off...absolutely best part of my day! And it makes me leave the house at least once a day. So that's good.
Today is Oatmeal Lace Cookie Day. Shaun is on vacation but primarily hibernating in his room. Comes out for meals and a little bit of conversation. And I think that is everything on the docket today...except I'm in the middle of a good book. Think I might try to get that finished today.

Got to go get ready to leave for my pre-school run! I'll be back with personals and gallery love when I get home.

My thoughts exactly about snow! I'm glad the temps are in the high 30's instead of low 30's or we would probably have about a foot of snow instead of the rain we've gotten!
I hope J's surgery can wait!
Glad Gary's retinopathy is stable! Yes, the cataracts are fixable! Mine haven't done much in the past couple of years.

Colleen Coble has good suspense books!

Good Morning,
I am sitting around waiting for FedEx to bring my printed pages. For whatever reason they want a signature this time! So, supposedly they were here yesterday, apparently when I was out with Mark, and said they would be back today between 10-2! That is just ridiculous! Why such a huge window of time?
Rant over!
Gotta work on my email reminder to the widows today and get the postcards out to those who do not have email.
Hopefully I can get over to the December event today, too! Yesterday was crazy. If the FedEx wasn't coming I would have stayed in my jammies.....not even going to lunch with Mark today because I need to be here for the drop-off. Praying they come early! HA!
Have a great day!

Went to bed last night not knowing whether I'd wake up to rain or ice. Fortunately it was rain; we tend to be on the borderline of snow/rain in winter storms and freezing rain and sleet is our most normal winter precipitation. You do learn when to make sure your devices are all charged. It's funny because we look out at the mountains, and they often have snow. I just went out to see if that was the case this morning, but there's a bunch of clouds or fog so I can't see them clearly right now.

Cold, gray and wet has put me in the mood for navy bean soup, so I have beans soaking and have taken the last lumps of ham bone leftover from New Years 2025 out of the freezer. And I actually have all the ingredients I need so don't have to run to the grocery. I think I'll make cornbread to go with; David loves that.

There's only two more rehearsals until our community chorus concert. We're supposed to have three of the pieces memorized -- I'm not sure our new, quite young, director knows what he's asking a bunch of mostly old folks. I'll get the words down but I can't remember the alto part without looking at music, so I'll either lip sync or just sing the melody. Or more likely just something I come up with at the moment. Oof.

Your biking is amazing I have a friend who rides 20-30 miles sometimes. One time she went 40 that was her record...she is younger too.
About 20 years ago I did a metric century, which is 65 miles. I was younger then LOL! But our regular ride these days is 15 miles, and we'll do 20 without a thought. 30 calls for some planning -- we'll need a place to stop. When we're on multiday bike trips it's usually 40-50 miles. But the last 4 or 5 years we've switched to ebikes so we can keep doing what we love.

then spend some time with the DAY 2 - GALLERY LOVE GAME.
I always find this game a challenge. Not that I don't like looking at the gallery, I do. But I get stuck thinking "What are they doing that I can't figure out?" and trying to see why my layouts look meh but everyone else is genius. It takes me forever.

the cataracts are getting worse. But even that isn't bad, he'll be able to get surgery for that
I always laugh at the cataract surgery (promise or threat?) because 25 years ago when I mentioned the possibility of lasik to my optometrist, she told me not to do it, as I had the beginning of cataracts, and when they fix those, my distance vision would be corrected. Those darn cataracts don't seem to have developed at all and I'm still waiting for the corrected distance vision!

supposedly they were here yesterday, apparently when I was out with Mark, and said they would be back today between 10-2! That is just ridiculous! Why such a huge window of time?
It's so frustrating, especially when it's a delivery. I understand when they're scheduling service calls because who knows what they'll run into at any stop. But just dropping off packages? I guess they'd rather not have to deal with complaints that they didn't come when expected. Often I can get around it by going on the delivery service web site and agreeing to skip the signature requirement, but it depends on what it is.

I had to chuckle when I read your post today because most of it I could have written myself.....all the way through the old aged alto singer part! ;)

I didn't know you could wave a signature! Thing is.....Persnickety has NEVER required a signature before! So, I'm wondering if they have had some complaining or lost packages or whatever?! I had no clue they were requiring a signature this time and the original time for delivery was anytime all day up to 8:00 p.m.! Give me a break! Am I not allowed to leave my own house?? They should have the pickups separate from the deliveries as far as I'm concerned. I can understand not being able to give a specific time on the pickups, but the deliveries? Come on! Surely they can give you a better estimate than no later than 8:00 p.m.!

Morning, all. Getting in here a bit later than usual. DD#1 just left for the airport to fly home. DD#3 came down late yesterday afternoon and stayed to have supper with DD#1, her son and me.... then us gals had a nice visit. Grandson left right after supper... he wasn't interested in "our gal talk".... :floorlaugh: I fixed Mexican goulash... it was so good!!! I have 6 tubs of it left - 1 for supper tonight and the rest into the freezer.

Need to upload a LO this morning. Then get dressed and head to the library to turn in books and pick up an 'on-hold' book. This Friday and Saturday is the used books and DVDs sale at the main library so plan on going on Friday. Yea.... like I 'need' more books and DVDs... :floorlaugh::dancing6:dance3dance3:floorlaugh:

Oh, yes... I noticed that the forum and gallery is hopping today. I am sure it will stay busy like that until at least mid-December. Don't forget to download each of the December ones... it has so many wonderful pieces/papers. :heartpumpred:

Snow is pretty. It will look so festive.

Uh-huh.
Please stop hoarding the snow!! Send it back and I will gladly send you this crap rain we're still getting. An ice rink that is polished has more traction than our roads right now. Not amused.

Quick in and out. Loving the daily downloads. Not a ton going on but I do have to leave the house. Slip sliding my way through the errands and grocery shopping. Oh the fun. Its December! We should be in the teens not the 40's!! UGH

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Quick in and out for me. I need to get Remi out for a walk before heading up to the hospital to see Darrell and then later will come home to get ready for the club's xmas party. Friends will pick me up which is nice b/c it would feel weird to go in by myself, not having Darrell by my side.

Update on his care:
Because of the severity of the infection and possible kidney damage from the treatment, he has to stay in hospital for 2-3 wks. I know he would have wanted to come home but the reality of driving back and forth (1/2 hr each way) 4 times a day for treatment would have been a nightmare. It would have meant 2 daytime visits, a late evening visit and then another daybreak visit. So sleep would have been impossible for either of us. So...it's best he stay there. Plus, they said if he develops any kidney problems they need to be on top of that immediately. They are testing numerous times throughout the day so they are taking good care of him.

I puttered last night and got some of the holiday decorations put out. It feels good to get started at it. I got an arrangement put together in a xmas vase. I really enjoy doing that. Jen and I will tackle the tree and garland at the end of the wkend. Slowly things are getting done. I have 2 parties to put food together for at the end of next wk so have to be sure to get all that planned too. Probably good that I'm being kept busy during this stressful time with D.

Gotta go...have a good day everyone.

Update.....FINALLY got my Persnickety order an hour ago! Haven't torn into the box yet as I wanted to get challenge 1 done for the December Event! Now I'm ready to tackle it!
