Who is excited that the 12 Days Advent Event is in full swing? I am! Just look at my new avi as well as everyone else's. We are festive!

I am starting to really panic about Christmas gifts for my family. I am at a loss. My mom also calls me every day to tell me that she doesn't know what to get my kids either. They mostly want money for school but she wants them to open things. I understand where she is coming from, yet at the same time, it is a waste of money if she is buying stuff that they don't need just for the sake of them unwrapping gifts.

I was up and out of the house at 7 am, and was heading to the grocery store by 8. I unpacked the groceries, ran back out to the library. Then I wanted to stop at the hair salon to make an appt for a cut and maybe see if they can throw on some toner to blend the roots and ends a bit. They were closed so I will have to try again another day.

I think I might have helped find a home for the two ducks that live at the Garden Center. I have been in contact with the vet tech that volunteers at the Animal Sanctuary b/c I want to get Leah a t-shirt from there for Christmas. With the Garden Center closing for good, the ducks need a home. They are "domesticated" ducks if that is the right word. They are big and white and their names are Chip and Dale. Hopefully, the owner will want to take them.

I am getting closer to finishing the gift baskets since I made a few bottles of body oil- Rae, I made a blend of Rosemary, lemongrass, and lavender. So good, you should try it!

Today, I am going to run out to the shopping that I wanted to do yesterday but then my plans got botched. Gary wants to come with me which will be nice. Then I want to scrap a LO for Trudy's Christmas challenge, I have the perfect memory. (Actually, I have a *horrible* memory when it comes to remembering things in my daily life--but I do have a happy childhood memory to scrap :pound: )

I also have to bake another batch of cookies, but I will make sure that it is an easy one.

My hope is that you have a calm, peaceful day!
Sending hugs to all of you!!!!!!

Felis- how cute your avi is!!! And I love that I can tell it is you since whenever we have these avi challenges, I have no idea who is who.

*gasps with laughter* How sad is it true for me as well, that this 12 Days Party is the most exciting thing that I have going on too!
Please post however and whenever you feel it is best for you to post. It takes a lot for me to get upset over things like that.
Injustice in the world, animal cruelty will make me :boom: but things that happen here at the O-- it is all good!
The dentist had a major emergency surgery come is so that asked if I was Ok to move my appt earlier. I knew that if I said that I would reschedule, I wouldn't bother. But my fillings are all done, whew!
Hahaha!! I can't tell you how many times we have picked cats' nails out of dogs' faces. Ray's ear is ok, it has a small tear at the bottom, but she was letting me stroke it last night. We put a baby gate in front of the tree and so far, it is keeping W away for the most part. She has chewed 2 ornaments but at least the tree is still standing LOL
Hang in there and make sure that you take good care of yourself. I worry about people experiencing depression this time of year. xo

Nancy- I am glad that your DH was not in that subway mess. But I have to say that NY-ers have the best attitudes. All of the comments from them aggravated about messing up their commutes, rather than being afraid, that is the way to do it.
How was the Fan Club Meeting?
I actually tried closing my eyes and rest while I was at the dentist but I kept closing my mouth, so every time they said "Open" I got jolted back *eye roll*

Trudy-how pretty your house and yard must look! That porch heater was a great investment. The two of you sipping coffee out there together makes my heart smile. Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can. Nah, I know that even with so many people in the house, you will love every minute. Wish we could all meet up and sip some Irish Coffee or wine and chat face to face.
How sweet of Sadie to make her dad cupcakes.

Rae- man, I wish I lived near you too., Not only cuz I would love to hang out with you but to get some of that Ginger Pear Jam. My dad loves that stuff but it is next to impossible to find it.
what a happy sight to watch the dogs playing in the snow together.

Jean- I will be able to recognize your avi since it has a bird on it. :)
You must be so proud of yourself getting so much of the book done. And what a great team with you and your DH, congrats on it!

Ack, I am later than I thought- hugs!!!

good morning - well today is cloudy but up near 50 and rain. Yuck. We did not make it to the Fan club meeting. It was too funny texting just does not always convey everything. He sent me a text saying his eye was really bothering him and the lens was peeling. He said he tried calling the eye doctor but he called to late. I suggested he go the open anytime health center. He texted back why would I go there was can they do. We kept on going back and forth. When he got home it turns out we had misunderstood each other. I thought he meant his eye lid was peeling from the sty and therefore he should go to doctor. But what he meant was He had a sty and then scratched the lens of his glasses so he needed an optician and he could not figure out why I wanted him to go to a doctor. This is why people should talk to each other. We laughed when we figured it out. But no fan club as I hate driving in the dark. But stayed home and watched hockey which is good. Made yellow Thai beef curry with jasmine rice. We all loved this meal. Not a bit left over. Tonight the Devils play the Kings. Yesterday the team had a very tough practice which I hope translates to a great game. Yes the subway bombing was a mess but the authorities had his name, where he lived, where he came from so fast it amazed me. My DH is just goes with the flow and knows as we all do that you can't live in fear of what might happen. Got a sad text from my sister last night - she had to put down one of her cats - Sadie. Sadie was part Siamese and a real talker. And she like me. She hissed at most people but never at me. Maybe she realized I was my sister's sister. I will miss her when I go to visit. Now I worry about her other cat and if he will miss her or maybe not. But I do know my sister will miss her.

Chris so glad the teeth are filled and the dentist visits done for a while. I am amazed that of course it would be your family trying to find a place for the ducks. You and your family have such an open heart. Wonderful to know! Good luck with shopping.

Felis enjoy more of the party here at the O. The new avatar.

Trudy congrats on getting so much done! Glad you had a moment of quiet time with your MG. Good luck with the lights and decorating.

Rae listening to you describe Taz in the snow - just a wonderful time for him and you. Not surprised he came home and slept.

Jean what are the Indians saying now that the Yankees have gotten Stanton and not having to give up anything. Glad the book is coming along so well.

Have a great day all!

Morning O friends!! A lovely morning with no fog for a change and the sun should be shining again today! Well my sister bailed on me to go to Costco today, which is ok, she is busy too! So now I think I will just stay home and get things finally finished around here and enjoy being at the 12 Days of Christmas here! I will go to Costco myself on Thursday instead. Of course it was one of those days yesterday when everything I tried to complete got interrupted. I never got my AVI finished, I went to the grocery store and forgot about 4 things that I wanted to get, my brother and SIL popped in unexpectedly. So I never really completed anything that I had set out to do. :mmph: I was very happy to see my brother and SIL however as they just got back from a trip to Hawaii and they were telling me all about their two weeks of heaven! I am hoping to go hiking with them tomorrow, but we will see how today goes LOL.

Chris - Don't panic to much over Christmas gifts, it really does all seem to come together and I know your kids are so great that they will love whatever you give to them! Nice to be done with the Dentist too! What a thoughtful family you have to find homes for the two ducks! Your heart certainly is in the right place! Yes Irish Coffee on the front porch sounds perfect to me! Who knows maybe one day we will all get together!

Nancy - Sorry that you are getting rain! DD is getting nothing but snow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stops before they have to drive to London to catch the plane! Too funny over the miscommunication texting with your DH! My DH always says, doesn't anyone ever talk to each other anymore? Another lovely Blue Apron meal for you and your guys, you are so lucky! I received a $40 coupon for Hello Fresh a similar program, but being on Keto I would never use it , so I will see if they deliver to DD or DS area's and perhaps they can use it. It would be so convenient for either one of them with their busy lives! Sorry that your sister had to put her poor kitty down! I cried for days on end when I had to put down our last cat. I hope she will not be too sad for too long! Yes it was very impressive how quickly they had the bomber in custody and the New Yorkers have a wonderful attitude about it all!

Rae - Hope that you can find your supplier of the jams and what a great time for you and Taz playing in the snow! Sounded like such a lovely day wandering through the Market! Good luck with getting your gifts wrapped soon and yes it really does all seem to come together eventually. Baby steps!

Felis - I truly hope that you are not feeling depressed, it is a sad time of the year for far too many, I hate to think of you being one of those people! Thankfully you have your wonderful family and all your fur babies to cheer you up!

Jean - I just love your new AVI of course it would have a bird on it!! What a cute one you chose ! Hope that you are having another lovely day where you are and that you have fun at the 12 Days of Christmas!!

Alright, I am ready for my second cup of coffee and then off to the gallery to leave some love! Have a wonderful day everyone!

I tried to post here this afternoon, but then electricity gone, so this is my second try. Will make it quick, because after that which Nancy is shared, nothing else matter. Stay warm and safe, my dears! ::grouphug

Nancy, NOOOO, this really crush me! I have exactly the same cat that you described. My heart bleeding! Send hugs to your sister! Don't worry about her other cat after few days she will stop search her friend. Teir instincts prevent cats from regrets for the past. She can feel only loneliness, but no sorrow. If stop to eat and play, she needs from new friend.

Oww, Chris, you are so sweet! You shouldn't worry for me! I'm weak and depressed every time when I have to deal with pet health problems or animals which have need from help but I just can't take even one more here. I wish we have shelters like these that you described, but no, I realize that if I don't help I left them die, and this freaks me out and make me so hopless and useless. And when I finally tried, I failed... Nevermind!
Oh, yes I'm so excited about 12 Days Advent Event! I also immediately recognized your avi! I hope soon to have time to comment all these lovely Christmas LO!
My cousin is like your children, I hate this because isn't enough caring, but we give him envelope with greeting card and money.
Hope you to can help to these lovely ducks!

Trudy, it is so pleasure to work on this memory challenge, thank you! Hope you finally go to hiking tomorrow! Wish you good weather, because here is so icy right now.

We got more snow last night, not a lot but everything is white now and it is quite windy. Glad to be inside. The O is really getting busy with the 12 Days and everything looking lovely. It is inspiring. Still plugging away on the book.

Chris, good luck with the ducks. Knowing you, I'm sure they'll get a new home. I'm sure the resting with dental work going on was not going to peaceful. You make it sound funny. I know what you mean about not knowing who's who with the holiday avi. I know yours with the dog, Felis and my bird. But miss your pretty face here.

Nancy, the confusing texting is a hoot. Sorry you missed the party and hope the game tonight is good. I didn't read the Indians' comments on the Stanton deal, don't want to be sad. Wow, that dinner sounds so good. Tell your sister we're all wishing her well after losing her kitty as we all know the pain.

Trudy, when you got the avi done it is so pretty. Worth the wait. If yesterday was all interruptions, sounds like today will be the opposite. Hope so. Hope you make the hike tomorrow. So few days to wait now!

Felis, sorry the power went out but glad it came back. Sorry you're feeling so blue. Wish it were easier to accept that you are not Wonder Woman and can't save the world all by yourself. But you do make a difference. Give the fur babies hugs from us all.

Rae, hope your day is a good one.

Good afternoon, everyone. Had a busy morning with busy desk work, then popped over to VV for the discount day and got a few things (2 gorgeous coats and some jeans). I definitely don't need any more winter coats but will be on the lookout for a few spring ones now. Got groceries and came home b/c Jen was popping by. Now I'm back to work for the afternoon and need to get online to pay bills and figure out what to make for dinner.

Chris - I'm like you, I think its such a waste to buy gifts just for the sake of buying gifts that people probably don't really want or need. I keep telling D that I don't really want anything but he won't take no for an answer so I'll need to come up with a few ideas soon. Glad Ray's ear is ok. As for relaxing in the dentist chair...not me LOL. I am always tense and end up with a headache. Glad to hear you found a home for the ducks.

Nancy - I laughed at the miscommunication...that's D and me all the time LOL. Sorry to hear of your sister's cat. That's how I feel about Jen's Noel, his time will be coming in the near future, he's got some problems and is getting old. We adore each other and I will miss him terribly when his time comes. He's a special cat, so full of personality.

Trudy - hope you get lots done around the house. I'd have vacation envy for a trip to Hawaii. I have never been....but one of these days.

Felis - hope your power stays on. We often lose power over the winter months here. It's such an inconvenience and sometimes lasts for a day or two. You'd think in this day and age this shouldn't happen all the time.

Jean - haven't seen your new xmas avi but I'll have to go see it.

Gotta get back to work. Have a great day, everyone.
