Hello and good morning! How are you today? Me- I am still here, hanging by a thread- but as long as there is still a thread, it's all good.
*looks around* There is still a thread, right???
:jawdrop3:

Good news/bad news about the rats. Caitlyn got an appt for late afternoon and was able to leave work a half hour early (she has the best boss, for real). She called when she was 5 minutes away, I grabbed their cage, and we zipped off to the vet. She has the best vet too, he is just wonderful. Badger's lump looks like it is an abscess and she got a shot of abx. He told her to keep an eye on her. He's seeing her in a few weeks for "surgery" on her bottom teeth and will recheck her carefully then. She has a malocclusion and one of her bottom teeth is not wearing down properly. Cait and I filed the point on Saturday but it needs to be clipped. Rats' teeth grow more than 1 mm a day so if they aren't ground down naturally, they will get really long, really fast. Badger- that was the good news. The bad news about Otter is that I was on the right track about it being a brain tumor. Cait had narrowed it to a pituitary tumor and the vet confirmed it was most likely that. There isn't a test but based on her behavior, there isn't much else that would do it. He gave her a shot of cortisone that might shrink some of the swelling. But... *shrugs* Make her comfortable and that she isn't in pain. There's no time frame, it depends on how fast it is growing, where it is pressing.
I know I have said it a million times, rats are truly the perfect pets other than their life span. :brokenheart:

I was able to make it to CC and the woman who was there last week came back. She is very pleasant and it was nice hearing about her granddaughters. Her friend's DD is a professional photographer and I got her business card to pass to Cait. Pretty sweet!

I'm heading to my mom's today to see what can be done about the MoB dress. I texted pics to BFF who then sent them to her SIL who makes clothes. She said the same thing that the seamstress told me, making it into a straight skirt will probably ruin the line. Hopefully, I'll know more this afternoon.

Today, I am grateful for the people who go out of their way to make life easier and better- that includes all of you too :grouphugyay:

Speaking of threads -- I had to sew a small hole in a T-shirt yesterday. Got the stuff out that I needed and my house stole the needle!!! My house steals things and sometimes gives them back. I was happy to get the needle back because I was so worried that the dogs would step on it.
I took out the needle and placed it on my desk, right under my keyboard. Got the thread and the threader tool (what is that thing called but YKWIM?). Went to pick up the needle and it was gone. I figured it fell on the floor, and looked carefully. Not there. Ran my hands all over the rug, then my chair. Nope! Lift up the keyboard, the mouse, my planner, the lamp. Still nope. I finally gave up, got another needle out, and went on with my day. Mainly at my desk. Four hours later, I grab lunch, sit down at my desk, and guess what is *right there* by my keyboard? Right where I left it and wasn't there the entire time I looked. Man-- I grumbled at my house for a long time after that. I swear it taunts me :pokestick:

@LSlycord How is the track of the storm today, are you still out of the direct path? I hope that it loses steam as it hits land but wow, I worry about the people in its path. ITA, I bet Cheryl is happy Steph isn't in FL anymore. Smart to cancel the dentist appt.

@vickyday Isn't it the truth that we only "dress up" when we have to? I was teasing Caitlyn when we got to the vet. Typically she goes there in what she calls "pajama adjacent." I joked that they wouldn't recognize her in her work clothes/makeup/hair down :D
Did you scrap the hawk photo yet? I have to get to the Gallery today, I'll look for it if you did.

@bcgal00 That's exciting to be working on your trip plans, what did you end up scheduling?
Good luck with the realtors today.

@BrightEyes I am so sorry for your loss. It has to be very sad to say goodbye to an entire generation :(
That's so awesome about the book. Your family is so interconnected it will be nice to share the photos and stories now and for generations to come.

@Cherylndesigns thanks for the faery dust!
I have trouble with avocados too especially when the utensils go through the dishwasher and don't get clean. Maybe the new dishwasher will be better. (5 more days!). But they are so yummy, they are worth the mess.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! xoxoxo

I fell asleep around 8:30 last night... then woke up at 4AM and couldn't go back to sleep!! UGH!!! I will try to stay awake later tonight. The back has been aching the past couple of days then late yesterday the lightbulb went on... the humidity has been much higher due to the rains and that triggered the arthritis pain in the back again. Will go back to using the Dr Scholls chair massager and taking the arthritis pain meds again.

Yesterday, I looked through some of Mom's photos and found the photo of my 3 boy cousins. I also found a photo of cousin Karen when she was about 1 year old. Still need to look through other of Mom's photos to find some duplicates of us and the cousins when we were kids. If I don't find any duplicates, I can sent Karen the ones I have scanned and let her print out the ones she wants to have. I am thinking that a lot of Mom's photos are stored back in a big box of full of albums. Not up to digging them out right now.

After I did the laundry a couple of days ago, I tried putting the bras in the dresser drawer but it wouldn't close as it was too full. Decided it was time to take out all the bras with underwires that I never wear. WOW!!! Pulled out at least 3 dozen underwire bras... and now I have plenty of room for my 'regular' bras. Guess I should clean out some of the other drawers, too. :spinningchair: It has been 4 1/2 years since I cleaned out drawers (after DH died and I cleared out his clothes). I need to think about getting rid of my Red Hat Hats... only have about 40 of them! Bill bought a lot of them for me.... every time he saw a different one, he would buy it. Also have a bunch of red hat clothes that I should get rid of, too.

The fingers/hands are talking to me... so need to close this out.

Good morning. I'm in here late but we are having computer problems at work and I can't log in. So I'm using that time to talk to all of you. I slept until 7:15...what? But since I work from home, it really doesn't matter.

We are not in the path of the storm. We will get some strong winds overnight and there will be surges along the coast, but we should be ok. Sydney will have winds that are even stronger but again, it should be safe. Losing electricity is my biggest concern...none of the wires here are underground so I am not sure what to expect. I keep wondering if we should invest in a whole house generator...but they are really expensive and I don't know. If we ever lose power for any length of time, you will hear me in here talking about when I can get my whole house generator.

UF closes school at noon today and then it is closed tomorrow. Our local schools are closed today and tomorrow. Hopefully it is a non-event and hopefully we don't have any more hurricanes this season although it is early in the season so we sure could have more.

Good news about the land in Iowa. We finally received documentation, in writing, of where our setbacks will be and we are happy with that. So we should close next Wednesday. Then we can get serious about what we want to build and when. I have a doctor's appointment next Friday with the Cardiac Interventionalist---he is the one that will do a TAVR if I am a good candidate for that. The following Thursday I have an appointment with the cardiac surgeon. Even if they do a TAVR, they always have a cardiac surgeon in the room in case something goes wrong and they need to open the chest. My hope is that we can get the cardiac catherization scheduled in September so that we know what we are going to do going forward. Hoping it all gets finished in October and then we can focus on recovery. Once we get that behind me, we will have a better idea of the when on moving forward with the house.

AWW! I hate to hear about Otter and the tumor!
I'm glad the lady you met last week at CC came back!
Hope things work out for "THE" dress!

Yup! The hawk page is up. I got several photos of him in different poses in different trees that I want to scrap, too, but probably not today as I have a mammogram and then later have to pick up a couple of grandsons from school.
I like the term, "pajama adjacent!" ;)

Quick in and out today. The realtors will start coming for the open house tour soon. Jen and I will take the dogs for a walk, past the ponds where I often go to photograph the ducks and birds, and then go into the trails. Later we'll meet D at White Spot for breakfast. We can go back home in the afternoon. Then we wait for the realtors' feedback on pricing. I think we'll drop the price again after the wkend but I want to hear what they say.

HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

Chris @faerywings sad to hear about Otter and all you can do is keep her comfortable. Poor thing. :( Can't wait to hear more about the dress and you'll figure it out. Yes, I'm glad Steph is out of there - Ian hit one year ago yesterday and Ft. Myers Beach is still destroyed. There was a video on Tik Tok showing FMB today and it's still so heartbreaking. This one is coming into the Gulf, so FM is in the line for a direct hit. FM has had very few direct hits (Charlie was pretty bad, but not anything like Ian.)

I'll try to come back and do some personals later on. I need some tea right now - I woke up early for me, and I don't think I got my sleep out. I may need a nap today.
