I am telling ya, this has been the craziest summer with the weather. I finally had plans to go to the really nice pool with Arlene, Leah's mom, and my mom today. The pool looks like it should be a resort pool rather than a town pool. Actually, IIRC it *was* a country club at one time? Anyway, we had planned to go in July, but then Arlene's mom was in the hospital and she was in FL for a month.
Now that there is only less than a week for the pool to be open, we get a date set and it is going to be cold and rainy. *grumble*
We are going to make a trip to the Rockland Bakery, locally famous, and then get some lunch so at least we will get a chance to visit.
And again, I shouldn't complain at all after seeing more images of TX/LA.

I went food shopping and then my little visit to the FP. I brought a bunch of fresh sage to share with the woman who works at the church. I am the perfect image of irony. when I checked out at the supermarket, they asked if I wanted to round up my order to donate to the local food pantries. Of course I did, even know that *I* was going to be getting food there later on. Then I donate $5 to the Houston Humane Society that is rescuing and sheltering pets. It is only $5 but I will be getting dog food at the FP on Saturday. I am ridiculous but my heart is in the right place as my mom always told me to be.

I was able to finish my Abstractionist LO yesterday and am now on to my last one- Eclectic. That one will take me days just in counting the elements and papers I need to use.
I never use Groups in Photoshop, but I think with a number of layers I will have, I am going to need to just to keep my sanity(ish).

Hoping that all of you have an absolutely wonderful day!
xoxo!

Nancy- 1 min, 30 seconds to choose who you want on a Team? It takes me that long just to decide how to get out of my chair. hahaha!! Good luck with your team and I hope that they do well for ya!
Your dinner sounds so good! Scott had to go to the farm for work to pick up 300 lbs of fresh corn and he brought 4 ears home for us, OMG- so good!
I am with you- with Sandy, it was horrible- but like you said, I had my home. These poor people are never going to be the same :(

Trudy- Your day at the beach sounds like heaven! Was your lazy day yesterday relaxing for you? Hope so because you have been so busy all summer.
Awwww, how cute to have Mason show you his new school shoes. I can't believe that Christopher is going into 1st grade. My mom told me last night that when they went to the zoo over the weekend, he got a stuffed wolf at the gift shop and name it Conner Campbell Iantosca- so it could be like me.

Rae- I don't think that you love scarves, I think that you are addicted to them :D That is a lot of scarves. Do you wear them year round? I love how cozy they all look and have a few of them myself but I can never get them to look right on me. I think that I pinned a "How to Tie Scarves" link but if I ever read/watched it --- it didn't stick in my brain. heh.
I totally thought of you while we were watching that movie, let me know what you think of it.

Jean- I hope that you get to go birding in CA and in Iceland- how cool would that be? Is the flight a long one?
Thanks for the link for the corn!
I see we are on the same page with needing to see how Rae wears her scarves.

 to all!

Morning ladies... I ended up not being able to scrap anything yesterday  Instead I was out trying to find a few items that I have been meaning to get for the past month or so. My niece from Australia phoned me yesterday, asking if I could come for a visit today. So now this afternoon I will be at the River (my brother's place) for a nice visit and a swim or two. I am never home!!! But hey I will be stuck in this house for most of the winter, so I will not complain and I am so lucky to be able to do this whenever I want to!! :becky: Then after much investigation and hours spent on the airline sites, Heather and I have decided that it is just too costly for her fly home for Christmas this year :gaah: why do they have to make an already costly time of the year even worse by doubling the price of flights!!! Other things just not working out for Christmas either, as our son and family are pressed for time and won't be able to come until dinner on Christmas night  So they will not have much time to see Heather and family as Isaac and Sadie are enrolled in ski lessons on the 27th, so they could only stay one night and then leave the next day. It breaks my heart, but it is what it is and I have no control over it.

Chris - OMG Christopher is going into 1st grade already? How did that happen?? What a sweetie naming his wolf after you!! You are so generous to donate to all these things!! I try to give when I can, but it seems like everywhere I go someone wants $$ sheesh!! These last two challenges at MOS are going to be tough, I am like you and worried about all those elements!!! I haven't checked out the Abstract one yet, hoping it will not take me forever.

Well I need to sign off here and get in the shower, then I will come back and catch up with everyone before I head to the River. Trying to get at least one of the pages started today for MOS. Talk to you all later!!

Good late morning - Where did my morning go - well I have French toast waiting for me when I came down for breakfast pretty happy about that and then watching the news on Houston. Just so sad. Got Luther out for a short walk but he was happy and so was I. Not a mile but almost. Today is cloudy and grey and may have rain later. This afternoon is my hair cut and color. Cant wait. Then have a quick stop at the store and home for a lazy afternoon. Maria Sharapova made her come back in tennis and she looked good. She served her suspension so I am glad she is back except for her screams. Just turn down the volume.

Chris have fun with the girls even if not a great day for the pool. This summer has been crazy temp wise. Glad you made through grocery shopping. Wow Christopher in first grade love what he named his wolf.

Trudy have fun with the family. That will be sad when the property has to be sold. Too bad all of the family can't chip in and buy it so all can enjoy. Sorry that Heather won't be coming back. We always flew my Mom out for Christmas so much cheaper to fly her than the 4 of us.

Rae that is great about the jacket. And yes should do a page of walking clothes with Taz. You will be busy so good luck with that!

Jean I think Iceland would be worth the flying especially if it is a direct flight.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm popping in and out b/c I want to spend a few minutes picking out photos and a few kits for my MOS eclectic page. Then I'll get to work and hopefully get it done by lunchtime today. I'm off to the dentist this afternoon (cleaning) and then over to the organic butcher shop for a hamburger sale. Then rushing home to get back to work again for the afternoon before Jen comes over around dinnertime for a visit. Busy day....

Chris - you have such a kind heart. Sorry to hear the weather turned before you could check out the pool. But going to the bakery sounds like fun (if I ate carbs LOL).

Trudy - have a great day at your brother's place. Too bad about Xmas plans but like you said, nothing you can do about it.

I told Jen last night that I must have really good clothing karma going on right now, I popped over to Value Village at lunchtime yesterday as I had a 30% coupon. I really wasn't expecting to find anything (I never am) but after the last two successful trips I was hopeful. So....I found a patterned jean jacket that may be my fave jean jacket so far, and two more gorgeous winter coats that look new. I also got a few sweaters and shirts. What a great score. Not only did I get 30% off that total but I earned another 30% off so I'll go back in a few wks and see what comes in. I've been so incredibly lucky to be able to replace so much of my wardrobe so cheaply. I wanted to hang onto a few winter coats that fit a bit big when I tried them on last month but when I tried again yesterday they were way too big so they have to go to the consignment store when we go into Bellingham this wkend. But since I found more coats at VV yesterday, I don't mind letting go of those last coats I tried to keep. So right now I don't seem to be losing any more weight (stuck at 48 lbs gone) but am obviously losing a bit more inches as things are fitting looser. This is such a crazy year for my weight. I'll be happy when things stabilize and I can learn how to maintain. I hope to never have to go thru this clothing purge and buying spree again.

Anyway, I'm out of here, have to get moving. Have a great day, everyone.

Nothing planned today, maybe grocery shopping, always genealogy stuff. We'll see.

Chris, the irony lady? I think your mom's comment about sums it up. Too bad about the pool, but the bakery does sound nice. How cool what Christopher named his wolf. For the eclectic LO will you have to use the dreaded buttons?

Trudy never home, bet you're having another great day. Winter at home will be there all too soon I guess. Rats about Christmas travel, but as you said, beyond your control.

Nancy, nearly a mile walking Luther sounds like a greatly improved knee, so cheers for that. Hope you are enjoying the tennis. Too bad about the Yankees last night (evil grin!!)

Rae, wow! What great deals you are getting shopping. Don't forget your public wants to see.

Wishing a good day to all.

:hello: again ladies... just having a quick bite to eat then off to the river. Its another hot day, the water will be refreshing for sure!

Nancy - It does sound like your knee is well on the way to being better! Hopefully you don't get too much rain later on today. You could send it this way, we sure need it. Fires still burning in the interior of the province! Yes we have tried every which way to see how we can keep the property in the family, but the one sister doesn't want it she wants the money, and DH and I and his other sister do not have the means to pay her out. Then the cost of the capital gains etc. the property taxes and it would have to be one of ours principal residence. I love the little town of Youbou where the property is, (I grew up there) however it rains 5 times as much there as it does where we are right now, only one tiny grocery store, no doctor and the hospital and everything else is 25 miles away. At this point I can't see us living there. A gorgeous place to be in the summer, but not so much in the winter.

Rae - Ok you have to take me shopping with you!! I never find really good deals and I need to start looking for fall/winter clothing soon. LOL The clothing gods are with you for sure!! Wow 48 lbs gone good for you!! I am stuck now at 30 lbs gone, I think I would like to lose about 10 more and then I would be very happy! I hope you have a peaceful afternoon and that you and Taz get out for a bit today!

Jean - Enjoy your day of not much happening, nothing wrong with that, wish I could have one, I am always on the go lately. :becky:

See you ladies tomorrow!
