Oh yes, my body is starting to prepare for back to school, early mornings. I was up again a little before 5. Guess that means I have more time waste today ;)
I spent too much time on Pinterest yesterday looking at Halloween and Autumn things. This was after I spent 2 hours at the lake, so talk about a weird juxtaposition! I would have loved to stay longer but the combo of abx that I am on and the sun don't make a good pairing.

You know how I say that Scott is obsessed with hot sauce and hot peppers? His best "brah" also is and his GF bought him a "make your own hot sauce kit." Last night, they made 3 bottles of hot sauce. I was very happy that no one burned their eyes! When they were grinding up the dried peppers, I could feel it in the air when I breathed. They said it tasted really good. I will take their word on that. :D

Today is Cait's appt with the RD. She had been writing down what she is eating and I can see how little it is. We will figure it out. One of her favorite foods is sweet potatoes and she had three different dishes made with them in 4 days. They don't have protein but at least she is getting some good vitamins at least.

That is about it here. Hope that everyone enjoys the day!!

Hey Nancy! Fog yesterday? That is weird. It is cloudy and hazy and grey ATM, and we had some big T-storms early on.
Oh no about the dogs and the mess!!! Thank goodness that they didn't get hurt by the glass. MY BIL's dog from many years ago ate strange things all of the time, Beepers and a razor once. She was ok after each time, but you think she would learn to not do it. SMH!
I hope that they stay better corralled today and yes, you are a great mom! How is your Hubby's knee? Any good books in that bag? Sounds like my kind of gift!

jean- Cait goes back to school before Labor Day so it feels so much closer to the end. It must sound odd since so many kids go back to school in Aug. but NJ goes from Sept to the end of June. I think Cait's date for graduation (sob!!!) is June 24.
Any better news about your sister?

Trudy, Sharron and all-- hope you are all good!

Good morning - whew what a day spun around me while for me every thing was good. My DH went to doctor about his knee and shoulder both of which are fine but he is just getting old LOL. Doc gave him exercises. My youngest son sent me a txt of his car being towed to a Ford Dealership in Falls Church. He said they were awesome and no charge for the repair as it was under warranty from the job done in NJ. Apparently it was a lose ground wire that just needed to be cleaned and the bolt tighten better but he did miss work so that is not good but every one understands car problems. He was home around 5:30 and said the car runs really well. Yea for that. Went over to oldest son's home to check on puppies and all was good. Played for a good hour wore them out while my DH mowed the lawn. He is a good dad. Not sure if I have to go today or not as he might be taking the day off but have not heard. Of course not. So all this was swirling around so glad it was them and not me but I do feel good that youngest son managed to get car to dealership all on his own. Just heard I don't have puppy watch today! So scrapping done and I watched the Mets game which was awesome as David Wright is back and hit a home run on his first at bat after being out since April. Mets won 16-7. I like these high scoring games but the game with the Yankees was cool too as the Yankees won in a walk off after both starting pitchers when 8 scoreless innings.

Chris hope the meeting with the dietician goes well. I did not eat anything in high school as I could not find anything that tasted good to me. Meeting and dating my DH cured me as he took me to places I would never have gone. And then coming to east the foods here are so good. Anyway good luck! Sounds like fun making your own hot sauce. Glad you enjoyed the Lake but we did not get any rain or storms at all. Not today either.

Jean it amazes me how early school starts out West. I like it that school starts after Labor Day. The schools could end earlier than June but we have so many holidays it is crazy.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies, quickly waving today and saying hello  Grandkids stayed at their other grandparents place last night. We had a funeral to go to so DS hopped on the Salt Spring Island Ferry and took the kids there so that we could all go together and the kids could just have fun and visit with DIL's parents. My hubby's Uncle passed away after a battle with congestive heart failure. This morning I will get the house tidied up a bit and then have breakfast with my son before he heads over to pick up the kids again. Wish I could stay and catch up on personals but I will also be getting a FaceTime call from DH any minute also so better just go and wish you all a wonderful day!!

Gray and chilly today but we had no plans for outdoors anyway. Sister was scheduled for 3rd chemo this morning, we'll see how she's holding up this evening. She's in a rehab facility in the hospital complex and still getting severe pain episodes from the shingles.

Chris, I like the sound of Scott's pepper experiments. We do like food spicy, but I think in moderation. Hope Cait gets help on the food front. Today, I don't need a calendar to think summer is ending. I'm beginning to think I need a sweater.

Nancy, if you like NY baseball, the current standings for both teams must look good. We were on the wrong side of a pitchers' duel yesterday with the Cubs.

Trudy, sorry your day had to include a funeral. Hope the family is doing OK.

Have a good day, everyone.
