That was me yesterday!! It rained!!! A gentle but steady rain! I can't tell you how happy it made me. I looked at my plants this morning and I hope they are happy too. We might get some showers passing by today and we sure need it but yesterday was nice.
In spite of ACDSee crashing again (yeah-- two days it was fine, then bam) I had a great day. The rain was wonderful and Scott came home and looked really happy. He and Sam had a lot of fun. It was her first music festival but she is an adventurous soul and was excited to do something different. She is a good influence on him- she made him take a dance class/workshop while they were there. Who knows where things will go for them in the future but right now, they seem really good for each other. (Still no official label but if it works for them it's all good ♥)

I had to be pretty quiet puttering about yesterday, Gary is still doing little videos of the mini-arcade, working through the bugs to get it perfect before the final manufacturing starts. He is good at that, he is such a perfectionist - for everything *other* than keeping the house neat, that is. I have officially given up trying to get it sorted for now. It's a waste of time. Scott asked me about September Birthday Bash and I have no idea what I am going to do- but I better start thinking about it.
(don't wannnaaaaa! :(:eek:o_O)

My mom is coming up today, she wants to talk to me about opening a joint bank account with me being the primary holder. She wants to put money in it for Cait's wedding. She is paying for her veil and for Scott's suit/tux. I know why she wants me to be listed first and I don't want to talk or think about it. But it is sadly a reality. My Grandma (my mom's mom) and I were very close, like Cait and my mom. We thought she was going to make it to my wedding, she was doing ok healthwise, turn a turn, and passed away 2 months before my wedding. I had already asked her for a handkerchief for my "something old." She had her dress and my shower gift bought. It was brutal. Still makes me so sad and being a mom now, I have no clue how my mom got through it. She was strong for me. I guess that answers that.
Anyway, It's not a conversation I want to have but better to get it out now.

Lemme see if I have anything to wrap up on a happier note
I updated my bitmoji, not really happy but kinda cute and silly. You want to see it?

@LSlycord How long did it take to get your internet back up?
Hi Decker!! How is my boy doing?

@Betty Jo Hope that the vertigo is all gone now. It really stinks that you can't take any meds for it. Nothing seems to help my dad, he eats a low-sodium diet to prevent it but once it starts there is not much he can do.
I pushed off the quesadillas since Cait was babysitting right after work, I made fish sticks and french fries since she hates the smell of fish. They are really easy to make- sautee a few onions, add some BBQ sauce and hot sauce, layer that with gouda on a tortilla, and toss it on a griddle.

Linda- Ughhhhhh, that stinks about the modem.
I am sorry that you are giving your notice but happy for you at the same time. (does that make sense?) You are spot on that life needs to be more than working at a job you hate. Maybe something PT will pop up that you will enjoy. Or not. :)

We had such a scare with W yesterday-- she ran out of the dog and started barking and jumping at a dog who was walking on the street. I don't think she got at the other dog other than barking but man, I was so scared that she was going to lose that control she has. You can see it in her when she gets super wound up-- so I know what you mean with Decker. Good luck and send Calm doggos vibes

@tanteva eep- the new job rules sound pretty confusing. I guess that as long as you go in and get money in return then it's a good thing.
ROTFLMAO that you have to be quiet and not say a word during voting hours. It has to be a neat procedure to watch and be part of the civic process.

welcome back @bcgal00 ! The photos you shared on FB were amazing, you look so relaxed and happy! It must have been hard for the photographer in you to deal with the constant motion of the ship, but the pics you did get were really incredible. Everything sounds wonderful.
Fab news for Jen!!!! The job sounds like a perfect one for her, low stress, close to home, and not feeling like she has to be "on" around lots of people.

@taxed4ever Great news about negative tests for you and your Gary!! Not that Covid kept him down for long at all. ;)
Good luck if you decide to rent the suite to the rower- How cool is it that she is training for the Olympics? Might be able to say you knew her when, get some autographs. :D
So nice that you got to visit with your ILs.

@BrightEyes good luck at the Dr today, truly hope that she has some answers for you
Enjoy the weather even if you have to put on, take off, put on, and take off clothes again and again

@Cherylndesigns how are your gardens holding up, the rain seems to have given them lots of growing power- good luck with the grasses, they really do get huge
Poor Sam, bet he wasn't happy to get caught in the rain
hehehe- Loved the description of Braden's dad.

@pachimac How old is Meli? Cait was a *nightmare* when she was 13-16. Then she became my best friend- whatever issues we had, they are all gone. Although she *does* enjoy holding some stuff over my head tee hee

@vickyday hope the headache is all gone now
Thanks for the rain, we got it yesterday!

xoxo!

@faerywings YAY! Can't believe I am the first to respond today, LOL!
So glad you finally got a nice rain! I love the image you shared! Used to love playing in the rain as a kid! Sending more prayers that you get more today!
And, nope! Unfortunately, the headache has not gone away! Sinus stuff, I believe! :(
Hope things go well with the meeting with your mom. I hate that your grandma passed just before your wedding! How sad! I didn't have the chance to be close to any of my grandparents. Dad's parents died before I was born and mom's parents lived far enough away that we didn't see them much. But her dad died, too, when I was pretty young.
Sorry your program keeps crashing! What a pain!
I love the peeking bit moji! ;)
Have a great day!

I love playing with Bitmoji. It's like when I was a kid and had paper dolls. I change hair and clothes often. I'm like a kid. LOL

Should clarify bout the laws in Sweden. These laws are actually there to protect the workers (unions are strong in Sweden). The law that is effecting me now, is there to make sure that the employers can't keep using employees. If a person is needed at a work place, they should hire them properly, and not just keep them as hourly extras. If you're employed by the hour, there is less benefits. If you need the personnel, you as an employer should hire them properly, and make sure they have the proper employment. This is the basic idea behind this law. On the flip side, sh*t like this happens. It's a little bit annoying for me right now, but I'm 100% behind this law. Pity though this is happening now when everything is getting so much more expensive, and we really could use the little extra money I earn. Especially as winter is coming, and we will need to keep the house warm all winter.

Good thing I can knit & crochet. Will make some us all some lapghans and extra socks. LOL

Completely lost my mojo this month. I make like 40-45 layouts in a month normally. So far in August I've made 14. Not sure what it is. I just look at my kits and photos for a while, and then "Nah..." Gotten some knitting and crocheting done though. Today I've been weaving in ends all day, and finished quite a few UFOs that's been waiting for my attention. Wednesday and Thursday I will work long days (9.45 to 6) so ... gee, I will be tired. Friday will be lovelier than usual this week!

Need to prepare some food for dinners and lunches the upcoming days. Otherwise we'll end up eating fast food, and I don't wanna mess with my diet. Almost lost 6 kilos so far (13 lbs), and I want to keep going. I'm only on WW the year out. I want to be slim and sexy for 2023. LOL

Good morning all. Ugh…still waiting for internet. They say that the modem will be here by 8 pm. I am hoping for sooner but we will see. Decker is here and has added the chaos of one more dog…but everyone is good. Hayden particularly likes having someone who wants to play and wrestle.

@faerywings it is so sweet that your mom is thinking of ways to make sure that she can pay for parts of Cait’s wedding. And I’m so glad that you got rain. A nice gentle rain sounds really nice. That would have been very scary with W…I’m just hoping that we make it through.

@BrightEyes I’m thinking of you this morning. Hoping that the doctor can get this sorted out quickly. And hope that you don’t have rain to contend with While getting there.

@bcgal00 welcome back! I agree with Chris…the photos looked amazing! Years ago we did a whale watching cruise in Maui. I had my good camera and got lots of photos but none were very good. Shaun was a 9 or 10 year old taking photos on his iPhone and he got the best photo of a whale breaching. I need to find that photo!

@taxed4ever glad that you got to spend some quality time with the in-laws. And what a fun thing it would be to have the rower living in your house. Think how exciting it would be to watch her in the Olympics.

@vickyday I hope that the headache is gone this morning. Just saw your post And that it isn’t gone…hope it goes away soon.

@tanteva good thing that you have plenty of yarn! And can’t believe that you do 40+ layouts a month.

@pachimac teens are a different breed although I must admit that I’ve had it pretty easy.

Morning ladies... another very warm and sunny day here and tomorrow will be even hotter. Our hike is a new one for all of us tomorrow to Newcastle Island, should be fun as we will have to take a small ferry over to the Island. I will bring lots of water and an ice pack to keep the water and my back cool. Well I did jinx myself yesterday and had a day of phone calls from friends and relatives all wanting to know how my Gary was and if he was back to work. I was happy to share that he was. This morning I have to meet up with SIL Linda and drop off a case of wine that we forgot to take to the In-Laws on the weekend. Then I should be able to come back home and just putter around and perhaps get a layout done for one of the challenges. I really should do the siggie one as I am in need of an updated siggie.

@faerywings - Ha, Ha the Bitmoji's are so cute! I will have to try one out for myself. How nice that your Mom wants to help out with the cost of Cait's wedding. Hearing about your Grandma passing before your wedding is so sad!! Especially when you were so very close to her! Happy to hear that you got the rain that you needed and that it was a nice steady rain and not a downpour! Hope that you get a bit more today! So cool that your Gary is working on those videos!! What an inventive guy you have! Now if you could just get him to tidy up his mess around the house LOL. So great to hear that Scott is happy and that the Sam and Scott are such a good fit, perhaps one day the relationship will move to the next level? Hope your visit with your Mom is fun for both of you! Ughh on the ACDSee crashing on you again!! Hope you get it working soon!

@vickyday - sorry to hear that you are still having the headaches!! I sure hope that it gets better for you soon, sinus headaches are the worst!

@tanteva - Awww love that your cat is saying hello to all of us! Cute bitmoji!! Hope you find your mojo soon, wow I can't believe you do that many layouts in a month!! I have a hard time getting more than 3 or 4 done LOL.

@LSlycord - Oh dear, still waiting on the internet to get fixed!!! Ugh!! Saw your Photo of your son and you trying to get his first day of school picture LOL. Yes it would be great to have the Olympic rower staying with us, we should hear her decision by the end of the week. It is especially good that she will hardly ever be here, the best kind of tenant LOL. (she is really sweet and I would love to get to know her better).

Well I have gotten all my morning chores done and showered and dressed and just waiting on a face time call from Heather and boys then off to meet SIL. Lots of sirens going past the house, looks like fire trucks police and ambulance. Hope that there is not a big house fire somewhere!!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was quiet. I needed a day to get used to being home. I was sluggish and just lazed around, watching TV and going in the pool. Mid morning I was playing with Remi and her brick-like head and teeth hit the top of my hand. It immediately started to swell and was very painful. I iced it a lot and today the swelling has started to go down. It only slightly bruised and is still very sore but less so. So, luckily it looks like no broken bones. Darn dog LOL. Her head is really like a brick, it is so solid and she is so clumsy.

Today we'll run some errands, stop by the pet store for more treats (3 dogs go through a lot).

I'll be back later, Remi is whining to go out so I'd better go let her out.

I'm back...

Remi has sure been clingy. I know she had fun at the kennel for the week but she is so glad to be home. Last night she curled up in her fave spot in the corner of the bedroom and her tail was thumping a mile a minute with joy. Today we'll take the dogs out with us to run errands, I'm pretty sure they are not ready to be away from us yet.

@faerywings Glad you got some rain. I wish we would, our forest fires sure could use it. We have another lightening storm later today so fingers crossed no new fires will start close by. I know it's off-setting but your mom is being practical about the bank acct. I had done the same with my mom. Yes, that is such a great opportunity for Jen. She can ease back into working again part time, having fun being around dogs and can bring Bella with her. She will be thrilled to learn how to groom properly. She has been working on Bella, watching videos and has her own grooming kit.

@taxed4ever Sorry to hear about G but glad he is feeling ok now and glad you didn't get sick. So far we all seem ok since getting home. Sounds like a fun hike tomorrow.

@vickyday Hope you feel better soon. Sinus problems are the worst.

@tanteva You may have scrapped less but sure sounds like a lot of your other projects were completed. I too don't eat much fast food, not good for weight loss.

@LSlycord Glad Decker is fitting in well. Hope the modem comes soon.

I'm heading out for errands soon. Maybe this afternoon I can get a LO done. It feels weird to not have scrapped for almost 2 wks.

Good afternoon, lovelies,

I started my post about an hour ago. Par for the course, huh? Ava and "the girls" just left - that Ellie, the chocolate, is a pistol. The black lab, Bailey, is very laid back. She got Ellie first and I just noticed today that she has some anxiety disorder. Ava had to go out on the porch to make a call and Ellie cried at the door, then went to the front window and cried. I corrected her, but she wasn't happy. She's having problems with Ellie barking in her crate and I think that's why. They're both going to a training facility in a couple of weeks, so that should help. They're not bad, just typical lab pups and very full of energy. I wish I had the time (and energy) to really work with them. I wanted to be a dog trainer in another life. We've trained all of our dogs so well, that everybody wants our dogs. Hahaha The labs we've had took the most working with! My biggest challenge was a half lab/half shepherd. I yi yi He became the best dog, though.

I'm going to come back and do personals in a bit - I need to get a few things done first. Happy Tuesday all!

Replying to others with a ping @pachimac and a personal comment. I suck at those & @faerywings is the queen of them. She knows like the name of everyone's cousin's half-brother's childhood pet. I struggle to remember everyone's name. LOL

Well, I am back home finally. Have a beautiful sunshiny day with no rain... so far. May be some late this afternoon. Saw the doctor and she is running a few tests. She is having me reduce the strength of the BP meds as she thinks it is now 'working too well' as she said! ;) That could be the cause of the dizziness. She also thinks it might be I need to be back on thyroid meds. (She didn't see that I had been denied a refill on the thyroid meds 6 months ago -so I think it was her PA who saw the request and denied it based on blood work at the time.) The Doc is also is checking for anemia and the usual annual check for diabetes. I did do the fast so was able to have the blood work done. Hope to hear from her as soon as she gets the results. And will be seeing her again in 6 weeks. Also have a referral for a bone density test... it has been 2 years since I had the last one. Was glad to get home and have lunch... I was hungry. Didn't have anything to eat this morning and NO COFFEE!!! I am dragging now so will rest some. CYL
