I hope that made you smile this morning. :D

How are you doing today? Hanging in? I am feeling a little head-spinny and nope, not because of early morning mimosas. (if only! hahaha!) It's all of the comings and goings and tiny wrenches being thrown into "plans." yesterday should have been a relatively normal day and overall- it was. But Tom's car broke down again on Saturday so he was here and drove Cait to work then took her car to his work. Cait needed to get picked up from work because the person she thought would be able to drive her home has a class last night. Tom needs to get his car today and Cait is working remotely so I am taking him to get that this morning that will be almost 2 hours round trip. They are looking at a house this afternoon but will be here for dinner. Sam is also here but no idea if she and Scott will be here. I defrosted tempeh and chicken and will hope for the best. Other than that--

Today's cleaning challenge is to deep clean the bathroom(s) and grout but ha. No way I am doing that today. I might do the "De-stink your Garbage Can" instead. It's garbage day so I won't have to deal with a week's worth of trash at least. My windows are all sparkly from yesterday's task. (Let's see how long doggy nose prints stay off the ones they can reach.) I even scrubbed the frames on a few of them.

Oh, here is one-- don't walk too close to a penguin. You might get slapped. :rotfl:

@vickyday That's a good idea to drop some books off at the thrift store. We have a few Little Libraries in town and I keep meaning to drop a couple of books off at them. If I could simply remember to bring a few each time I pick up my groceries, one Library is on the way. Of course, I don't think of it until I drive past.
hope the weather cooperated and you were able to get to GDD's game.

@taxed4ever :dance2: to being Covid free!! Ummmm, as for the hike... you know what I am going to say, don't you? ;)
Don't push yourself! How are you doing after the housework yesterday? I really hope that you are resting when you need it. I haven't worn a mask anywhere that it isn't required (to be sure, I don't usually *go* anywhere) but I think I am going to do the same . It really sounds awful *hugs*
It always amazes me how *hard* Heather worked at getting to where she is now and damn, she is one strong lady and has one strong mama behind her. ♥

@Cherylndesigns Oh no, you really got the days all messed up for your blog post. Was it all still ok to use?
I only have tomato/veggie fertilizer but I should get some for the flowers. I usually save coffee grinds and eggshells but since we have been having mice in the kitchen again (ARGHHH!!!), I don't want to use the compost bucket just yet.
I have lots of leaf compost, maybe I will mix in t a little of that. I also need to put some on the small azalea. It's not looking good at all. My big azalea-- *happy sigh* that is looking perfect!
*nods at your mint story* Impossible to get rid of that stuff.
That's so crazy about the airport running out of gas. Smart to stay home!

Better get going since I am not sure what time Tom is going to need to get his car.

have a wonderful day! :cloud9:

Good morning, World!!!

I totally missed yesterday here. Busy, busy day and I was fried by the end of it. Long emotional Sunday on top of it all. Bob's mother fell, (for the 3rd time in a year) This time she broke her shoulder. She was transported to rehab last night, so hopefully she'll be home again soon. As the only daughter in law, I told my husband I'd take one for the team so he or his siblings wouldn't have to... and will try to whip her into shape with the old "If you don't use the walker you're going to the home." Wish me luck.
On a sad but at least it's over note we found a town resident of ours we've been searching for for ten months. Sadly it was not the outcome we had hoped for. He wandered off last July and we had a "last sighting" area to focus on but it was swampy and overgrown. Cannot tell you how many times search crews were out there and many other places all over town. A drone found his remains late Saturday and after three hours of literally bush whacking their way through in chest deep water they were able to bring him home. A very sad ending but at least there is closure now for his family.
@faerywings hope you at least have some good quality chat time on your long road trip this morning. Good luck to the house hunters this afternoon.
I hope you all enjoy your day. Keep your hands to yourself.

Peace

Yes, the weather was beautiful for the GDD game! It is a brand new team at their Christian School. So the game really didn't count for anything but practice! The other team's girls have played together forever and could have kept the game alive forever with one inning. But they were gracious and stepped off the bases at the wrong times, etc. to force the ump to call them out to give our girls a chance to play, LOL! I think our Abby only got up to bat once. It was fast pitch softball. Their pitcher's pitches were scary fast! Our pitcher, not so much. Her pitches kinda lobbed over the plate.....if they made it across the plate at all. I felt bad for them. But, they've got to start somewhere! It was good practice for them! Gave them an opportunity to see where and what they need to improve in and where they are going if they are serious about playing and putting their all into it! And, let me tell you.....some of the pitches hit the batters. Ours didn't leave bruises, I'm sure. But I can guarantee that the other team's pitcher left BIG bruises with hers! OUCH!!! I think our team only had one run and that was from walks the other girl pitched, LOL, not because we were hitting her pitches! Only 2 or 3 girls actually hit her pitches. Abby was one of them. Good for her!

Good Morning all!
Yesterday was a full day.
Up at 8:30.
Bed made and dishes put away.
Laundry from the trip last week done.
Dishes put away.
Loaded up more stuff from the she shed and took to the thrift.
Stopped and got groceries on the way back (spent almost $200! YIKES!).
Fixed a "snack" of fish and Brussels sprouts for Mark after work before going to the GDD's softball game.
Daily Devotions after we got back and after Mark spent some time in the woods, then ate a salad.
Finished the night (with Mark) working a puzzle.
Discovered I had gotten a GSO on one of my Month Review pages! That was a nice surprise!
Bed time last night was 2 a.m. as I am working on the Pennsylvania Trip pages. Then I didn't sleep well. YUP! I'd say I'm back to normal, LOL!
Up at 9 this a.m.
Bed stripped and in the wash as we speak.
Dishes put away.
Coffee made.
Lunch with Mark at 11.
More laundry this p.m.
More scrapping this p.m.
That will pretty much be my day.

Have a good one!

Good morning. It is still morning right? Taking an early lunch because of meetings this afternoon.

I like your bullet type list @vickyday. Think I may try that. Everything in my life is a list right now!

Getting estimates from two movers.
Loading down tables of things to sell in a garage sale.
Found a place to get Sydney euros...now just need to find the time to do it.
Beautiful weather...thinking about how to move my pots to the house.
Have Brian calling fencing companies...can't do many days without a fence in the backyard for the dogs.
Calling AT&T to see how fast the internet is at the new place.
Met the new neighbors on one side...liked them a lot. The husband is required but the wife works. Originally from West Virginia.
Got one layout loaded to the gallery. Really killing it there.

@faerywings loved the penguins. The Omaha Zoo is a fantastic zoo...used to be associated with the TV show Wild Kingdom for the old folks in the crowd...anyway, they have this wonderful area full of penguins. I wish I were closer...I'd make a trip over there. Maybe sometime when I am in Iowa, I can talk my niece into going over there with the boys. Maybe next year...might be a little too young now. Hope you had a good morning with Tom.

@Nonni F I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. So very hard when they get to this stage...but 3 falls in a year is a bunch.

@vickyday sounds like life is pretty much back to normal with you and Mark...and that is a really good thing.

@taxed4ever please take your time getting back to normal. Definitely don't want a relapse of that darned Covid!

@Cherylndesigns I thought of you as I was watering my flowers. The darned petunias look like they are going to die. I knew that they probably couldn't withstand the Florida sun. Iowa sun, they thrive. Florida sun, not so much. Going to bring them into the shade and see if they will bounce back.

Have a good day all!

It is late I know, but I am still not feeling well, so I decided to test myself again... guess what??? Yup I am still positive for Covid!! WTH??? So I tested myself again, yup still positive OMG when will I be rid of this??? I have to get my hair done on Thursday and I really don't want to cancel, but if I am still sick I will have too and if I am still positive I will have too! Sorry ladies I am just too bummed to be here today. I tried to do some gardening and that lasted about 1/2 an hour, then came inside shaking all over. I think I will have to put myself on the MIA list for the rest of this month. Ughhh!! :eek2:

Good afternoon all.

Chris @faerywings - thankfully I did NOT post to the blog. Chuck caught me in plenty of time. Yes, it would have messed things up because it was somebody else's day to post - :eek2: . I'm sure that whatever you have (fertilizer/food wise) would be better than nothing to put on your sickly plants. Sounds like you have another one that need it too. Linda @LSlycord petunias don't like that Florida heat. I started to tell you, yesterday, that my day lilies didn't even like it. I've always had an abundance of them and it was just too hot for them in SFL. I gave up on them and just stuck to the tropical plants. No need to fuss with what I call "tender plants", which petunias definitely are. Do you have succulents? They thrive there. I had a spider plant on my lanai, but it didn't get much sun and I had to water it every day and really babied it. I also grew orchids on the lanai. They're finicky too and like a very specific kind of light. Sounds like your life is about to become very chaotic! What pots are you talking about getting moved? Do you have great big clay pots like I did? We had movers and they wrapped them and moved them.

Vicky @vickyday I'm worn out after reading your post. You've done a week's worth of work in one partial day. #sleeping

I need to get cracking - just got my blog post done - on the right day. Anyhoo, now I'm really far behind. Have a great day.
