Guess where I am? I am sitting at my desk! :whoo: That is the really good news. The meh news is that I am all still stitched and bandaged. I honestly didn't expect otherwise, but darn I was hoping. I am allowed to be on my feet for 30 minutes at a time and Gary pointedly asked the Dr if that meant 30 mins with a break, then another 30 minutes. That adorable man of mine knows me too well. The answer was a hard No, the more that I stay off of my foot, the faster it will heal. So lots of elevation, icing, and resting. But no more crutches either so it is going to be nice to walk a bit. I went upstairs to see the rats (I missed those cuties!) and the new washing machine.
I go back next week and if it all looks good, stitches will come out.

When I asked the Dr prior to surgery if I would be up and running within a couple of weeks, he said yeah. I think he has a very different idea of what I meant by "up and running."

Today, I am going to work on taxes and then maybe scrap a bit. See how I feel and all that :blah:

Have a fab day!!! xoxoxo

I am going to do quick personals (finally!!) then pop myself back into bed for a bit. I have been up for over an hour. Even though I am sitting, my foot isn't elevated and I can feel the difference.

Trudy- No tricks from me this year. Your shopping trips to Michael's and Costco sound busy but productive. Sorry to hear about the Bruins:(
OMG- the junk! Most of what Scott brought home was stuff that he will use. A new tent, another 2-person inflatable rowboat that he can use when he doesn't want to use the 5-person one he has, some hunting knives.
Gary brought home a singing fish, an Emmett Kelly plastic head, manacles (????), wires and pieces and parts of god-only-knows.
Resist incoming junk from your ILs as best as you can hahaha!!!

Nancy- So proud of you that you got in so many steps the other day!!!
It is really so cold here too, maybe this weekend we will warm up a bit again.

Kay- 32* is warm compared to what we have been waking up to. 20* and windy. But I am counting the days until we get good and warm. I am sure that the cold weather is not helping the joint pain.

Felis- great to hear you are in a good mood! Hope that your sleep was long and restorative. I am going to have to check out your link in a bit. Seems might have some good advice for me.
Congrats on getting so much scrapping done!!

Jean- snow?? really?? Ack! It is cold here but thankfully no snow. We still have piles of it where it had been plowed, but if I see anything in the sky. :rollpin:

I better get back to bed. I really would hate to start my first day of semi-freedom screwing myself up. Not that I would ever do that. Not me, no sirree.

Love and hugs!!!

Just a quick hi as I'll be off to the monthly board meeting of the computer genealogy group soon. This month I think I'll be able to do all the usual stuff for the general meeting later in the month. The snow disappeared where not shaded yesterday and more will depart today. The Indians had their home opener yesterday with stellar starting pitching and in the end a win. Thus fans did not mind the chilly day. We were home watching it on TV.

Chris, glad to see Gary knows the right questions to ask to try keeping you from yourself (as it were). We all know what you'll do given the slightest opening, or should I say what you'll OVERdo. Hope you really did get back to bed and elevated foot. As long as you're improving, that's all that really matters. And it really will be getting warmer according to the forecasts.

Have a good day, everyone!

Morning ladies... I had a great sleep last night and feel pretty good this morning! Today will be our last sunny day for a bit, so I hope I can get out and enjoy it for a while. It is supposed to start raining tomorrow of course on our hiking day :mmph: but we certainly could use it! The forecast is for rain for a whole week, so I hope we get enough to start filling up the lake again! It is at September lows right now, which is pretty scary! They announced on the news this morning that Canada is warming up twice as much as the rest of the world!! WTH??? I thought DT said there was no global warming :gaah: what have we done to our poor planet? Its not like we have anywhere else to go after this one burns up. Ok enough of that,:tape: on to personals ...

Chris - Darn I was sure that you were going to tell us that your stitches came off. Oh well at least good news that you are no longer having to use crutches! Nice to be able to be on your foot a bit more today, but please be a good patient and stay off of it as long as you can! I am happy that you were able to see the rats again and of course your Gary brought home things that will help him make more fun stuff for Halloween. LOL.

Jean - I hope that you have a wonderful time at your meeting this morning! Glad to hear that your weather is warming up and that your snow did not last too long! Nice that you were warm at home to watch the home opener!

OK I am off to pack my swim bag and get to the pool have a wonderful day everyone!

good late morning - I was sleeping so sound when my DH came in around 6am to say I had to get up and as he had tripped on the sidewalk while with Luther and had jammed his ring finger. He said it did not hurt but it looked terrible. He scrapped the palm of his other hand and his knees. Took him to urgent care and luckily it was only dislocated not broken. But it is swelling a lot! It turned out that the urgent care is right next to the orthopedic branch and the hand specialist saw him and popped it back into place. He said he has to keep moving it so it does not become stiff. Stopped at MacDonalds for breakfast as a treat to myself. Home now and he is finding it is his hand and knees that hurt the most. Poor guy been a long time since he had fallen. I had a good yesterday. I went to my first aquatic wellness. It was good. Felt good to be back in the water again. Now today I have my regular therapy today. Going out to dinner with my girlfriend so that will be nice.

Chris glad the appointment went well even if the stitches are still in there. Remember 30 min! You need to set a timer! Sounds like Scott got some good things but not sure about your Gary. I am such a pack rat it is terrible!

Kay hope the errands went well! Interesting that everyone is getting rid of their stuff!

Jean hi! glad your snow is melting! Congrats on the Indians and their win!

Have a great day all!

Morning, gals. Chirs, great to see you back on your computer. When I had to keep my leg elevated... I had another chair next to the desk and propped my leg up on it. Then I could put ice on the foot or knee [had to do this at different times]. Glad your Gary knew the questions to ask the doctor - so listen to him when he says 'enough' and go back to bed.

I managed to get some of the errands done yesterday before I ran out of steam. Found a 5-phone set plus the cord I need to hook-up the BluRay player at Sam's. Even stopped at the grocery store on the way home and got a bunch of apples. Will be making an Apple Crisp dessert with them.

Had to plug the phones into their chargers for 7 hours before I could use them. So spent an hour this AM putting them in place of the old phones.
Not sure I like the ring-tone on it. May see if I can change it. Also need to record the message on the answering machine. The good thing is that the rechargeable batteries are not as expensive as the last set I had.

I need to get my haircut but the beautician I want is no longer working at the salon close by... she is about 20 miles away now. The cable company is out near there so think I will take the MB box in and exchange it for the new style as the one I have has a card that has to refreshed every couple of months... PITA! And I need to drop off books at the library. It is a bit warmer today... may get up to 60!

Oooops... gotta go. Company coming over. CYL

Hello girls!
Did you saw this month's challenges?! So clever, so well planned, admiration! I'll can fit few of my ideas on it. And the best part is that have special Easter challenge, so I'll can scrap my colored eggs, and I have few rabbits kits I want to use from along time. The song lyric challenge is so fun that I couldn't resist and made it this morning, even I shouldn't have time for scrap. This will be very boring week here, because I have to work hard!

Chris, please stay in bed! Please be good, because it's so easy to have some complications! We will have a lovely summer, so no rush! I was left with impression that Gary gives you a notepad or laptop, or something so to not have to stay on the computer?!

Jean, have fun on the genealogy group meeting! I can't believe it's April now. I'm missed this but what actually happened with your talking about maps?!

Trudy, hope you was able to do your hike! The weather is really freaky, indeed. We didn't have enough snow, and now Spring isn't rainy as should be. Even the nights are still cold, afternoons are unusually warm.

Nancy, ouch, the accident with your husband must be very painful! Good for you that you was able to go with him! Sounds as these days he have bad luck. Oh, so you'll continue with the aquatic wellness?! Sounds good. On a final you will start love it and will add it as a hobby.

Kay, the Apple Crisp dessert sounds delicious! And congrats for so many completed tasks! Oh by the way, I saw your song lyric page before to know what actually the challenge is, and decided that this is actual song of the band Bright Eyes. I even google it to hear this song, silly me!

I often think about Kythe and Joey and hope everything is fine there! Wave to Sharon and know you have a fun!

So next few days I can't be often here, but I'll catch everything in the weekend. Don't worry all is fine here, just boring work stuffs! Kiss and hugs! :cofbath:
