seriously halfway though April? I guess that is good, closer to summer, but why is the weather still so cold here? I had such a great mental lift last week with the weather and now I am back being all blech-y. Wah!

Same old, same old here for me. Work, babysitting, you know how it goes. Kind of tired of it, but what can you do?

I posted this an another site so I am just copying here, sorry if you have read this elsewhere :)

I did get some good news yesterday. On may 10, I am going into NYC for a World Wide Lyme Disease Protest. I had wanted to go but I had no way to get there. I do NOT drive in NYC!!! But a fellow Lymie from my area is speaking there and offered to carpool. Scott and I did a couple of round table discussions for her last year, talking about how lyme affects us. She is working to get a Lyme-Literate group of practitioners, esp in the mental health field to better understand our particular issues. She is just a fantastic person and I am thrilled to go with her. Both kids are interested ingoing too, and she wanted Scott to speak but he is not comfortable speaking in front of hundreds of people. Can't say I blame him! But to even be there will be an awesome experience. Just like most other illnesses, only Lymies really understand the hell that we go though and it is so reassuring to meet others like us so that we are not alone. And to fight. Why do we have to fight to raise awareness? Isn't that messed up that we are not even recognized as ill by most doctors???

I could tell you horror stories of what I have gone through, especially with my kids, but that would be a book
wink.gif

.................

And yes, many of you have heard some of those stories before so I won't bore you with them again. hehe!!!

The other good news (how sad is it that this is what considers good news in my day??? :pound: ) I did 30 sit ups and walked 1 mile. Its a start. I don;t know if I can commit to walking 1 mile a day,but I am promising myself -- and all of you-- that I *will* do sit-ups!

A few years ago, I would read about women getting plastic surgery and I said, No way would I EVER do that, I am going to grow old and relish it! Embrace it!!
Now that I am getting older-- I am freaking out and fighting tooth and nail. hahaha!!!!
I need to find some happy medium......

Well, that is about it, no tip that I can think of for today.
I am looking for tips though-- any tips on how to use Instagram would be nice.

yesterday:

Phyllis- you can nag me any time you want - Doesn't mean I will listen LOL

Nancy- hope you got a walk in too- it was sunny but chilly here, hope it was warmer by you.

Terry- did you day get any better? Sending more and more hugs~~~~

Angela- yay for doing wii! I loved that, was so much fun. Oh joy-- being in menopause. I feel ike I have been in peri-menopause for decades-- my hormones are seriously screwed up-- much of it due to lyme and some of it phase of life. It bites!!

Trudy- how sweet to get out for a nice dinner!
I'll take some more of those bottles if you have them...

Thanks for the support on the sit-ups, all of you!!!

Have a nice workday Laurie, so good you did your workout already!

Ow how great Chris that you can go now to that protest, I hope it will help!
Good for you you did your sit-ups and made a walk! I hope you have a nice day today!

I didn't expect to be in menopause already, I'm 36 now, so really early but well can't change it if it is true, right? Just wait and see what the gynecologist sais next week.

No big plans today other then bringing the kids to school and picking them up and go to the doctor (again) for a pulmonary function test and ofcourse doing some housework.

Have a nice day everyone!

Chris, you're talking about the profession who called Multiple Sclerosis "The Faker's Disease" for decades, and not so long ago, either. one "good" thing about Lyme is that it's an equal opportunity disaster. if it mostly hit only women, the disbelief and denial would be twice as bad as it is.... have a great time in NYC. it sounds like an interesting event. do some good. you are amazing with with your physical prowess with the sit-ups and walking!! go, girl! :cheer2:

Angela, i guess 36 could be in the "peri-menopause" range. no fun! hang in there and feel better.

Nana, i miss you!

today, just more stream-of -consciousness living. no big plans. the vet will be here for my cat's yearly appointment this afternoon. my vet, (whose name is unbelievably Dr. Katt,) has a rolling office in a van, so he can do house calls. i love it. my cat used to puke all over his carrier when i had to transport him in the car. he gets motion sick!! i can relate!! now, all i have to do is wrap him up tightly in a towel and carry him down to the driveway. YEAH!

hope everybody has a great Tuesday! be kind to yourself.

good morning - Still in shock over the tragedy in Boston.

And My poor NJ Devils cannot score a goal LOL. This is the longest losing streak in years. Good think I am old enough to know that not every year is going to be good. Got more knitting done while watching hockey.

My girlfriend and I got a good walk in and in my part of NJ the sun came out and it was really nice. Everything is really in bloom. And I did get my laundry done.

Chris your Lyme convention sounds so interesting. How nice to have some one to carpool with. I would never want to drive in NYC. Congrats on doing your sit ups and 1 mile walk. I think you will find it easier to walk as the temperatures get warmer.

Phylis wow a vet that makes house calls now that is plus.

Laurie congrats on work out! I am sure it will give you plenty of energy!

Angela it is as Phylis said probably peri-menopause and it can last for years I am sure your gynecologist will explain it all. have fun with the kids

Trudy your birthday evening sounds wonderful! Good luck with unemployment.

Terry I hope things are going better - glad your mom is home. Family sometimes they are just not understandable.

Have a great day all!

It's going to be a beautiful day here--probably in the 90's. Wish I could golf but work is calling my name.

Chris--how fortunate you are to be able to attend the Lyme event in NYC. You go girl--people have to be involved to be heard. So proud of you!

Phyllis-so neat that your vet comes to the house. I'm with you on the motion sickness thing--I suffer from it too! Hope your day goes well.

Nancy--how is the hockey team doing?

Angela--early menopause--no fun. I went through menopause very early also, 35 years old.

Hopefully things here are going to settle down. I feel bad for my mom--my sister went to see her yesterday. Don't know what she said to my mother but it was bad enough to push my mom to the edge and she told my sister to leave her house. Sad. Just sad. I feel badly for my mother. After all, it is her daughter.

Well I am off to work now. Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning sweet "O"'s!! Had to turn off the T.V. could not stand to watch that bombing one more time! Over 2000 runners from Vancouver Island were there, but it sounds like all of them are ok! So sad!! What is our world coming too?

Chris - Wooo Hooo on the walk and the sit ups!! You go girl!! How wonderful that you are able to attend the Lyme Protest in NYC! Shout out loud and be heard!! We are all standing behind you!! I am off for a walk to day also, its a beautiful warm sunny day here and it is really so much easier to get out there when the weather co operates!!

Laurie - Hope your energy lasts throughout the day! Have a good workday and hopefully the doom and gloom lifts!!

Phylis - I think its so great that you have a vet that makes house calls! Give your kitty a hug for me, I miss my Mr. Abu so much!! Although I have to admit that I sure don't miss his hair everywhere!!

Angela - My sister started menopause very early also, she was only 30!! But then she was still a baby when she had her first child also. Only sixteen, don't know what my parents were thinking when they let her get married, but she is still married to the same man. He has not been a good husband, but she refuses to leave, so that is her business I guess. Anyway hope that your day goes well!

Nancy - Sorry your Devils are not doing so well this year! My Bruins of course did not play last night because of the bombings, hopefully Bostonians will pick themselves up and dust themselves off and continue life without fear!! So very sad!!

Terry - My goodness, doesn't your sister think that your Mother has been through enough without including her in the horror that has been going on with the rest of the family??? Must be so hard on your Dear Mother!! Gentle hugs to you and your Mom!! I hope that things settle down for everyone and you can get on with normal living!!

Yesterday I found out that my niece was arrested for shoplifting!!!! This is the one that keeps asking me for money and I refuse to enable her!! My poor sister, I'm not sure if she knows yet. This woman is over 40yrs old and has a little baby for God's Sake grow up already!!! Dump your druggy husband and clean up your act!! Wish I could say that to her, but she wouldn't listen anyway. She will have to hit bottom unfortunately before she realizes that she can't go on living this way! So all I can do is be there for my sister when she needs me I guess. Well a bit more weeding for me today and then off for my walk in sun, hopefully it will improve my outlook on life!! Have a great day ladies!!

hi, Trudy. wow. shoplifting at 40. i swear, life never ceases to amaze me. your poor sister. sometimes the choices people make are just so bewildering. hope your walk and the sunshine gets you to a good place.

Nancy, see! i TOLD you i was sending some sunshine your way! stuff isn't really in bloom around here yet, except the early spring flowers, like hyacinths and daffodils.

Terry, your poor mom. and poor you! oh, how i hope things straighten out for you both, and that YOU TWO can find some peace.
