Happy Tuesday! Yes, it is the early morning coffee-faery here today. ;)
Up early for the kids' Lyme dr. Long day ahead.... but it hopefully will be lots better than yesterday.
Yesterday i decided that I hate health insurance companies more than just about anything else on Earth.
Gary tried to refill his Rx for his pump supplies. He is Type 1 diabetic and have been on an infusion pump for 12 years. NJ MEdicaid Plan D no longer covers any durable medical equipment- including pump supplies, blood meters and test strips.
So can someone explain to me- how they think a person who is on Medicaid (by definition- low income/low assets) afford to pay for these items THAT KEEP THEM ALIVE!!!?????
Between Gary and I, we must have been on the phone for hours- trying to get through to *someone* who can help.
No luck anywhere.
This is just nuts.

I am seriously losing faith- we have tried so hard all our lives to do the right things, to be good people. And at just about every turn, we have hit roadblocks.

You guys have been hearing me b****-- is it just me, or has it been crazy-difficult?

There has been good- like our dr on Friday seemed very good. That we are able to get some medical assistance-That Gary is almost over the w/d's. That my kids just make my world a better place.
That I have my O-Fam!

Bah.... no reason to bring y'all sucked down with me.

As always my praying friends-- I can always use a good thought, and they are always appreciated.
Not sure if I ever expressed how I feel about God, so to speak, but I do believe in a "Ultimate Energy/Being" -- "The All" so IMHO- all prayers lead the the same place. But if you have a direct line--- please, feel free!!!!

xoxoxoxo

Hi Linda and Sandra and ME!

Sara- yay! GLad that at least the end of the weekend rocked good for you! Family is awesome. :) Did you have fun shopping?

Kristin, how have you been feeling since the food poisoning?
I am so green with envy on your weather!! Where doo you live? I want so badly to get outside. Woot on your roses, I hear that they are hard to grow! Morning glories- nope- you can't kill them, but be warned that can take over an area quickly -- have something that thay can "twine" on- I use fishing line strung across my porch. And you know to save the seeds at the end of thre season so you can replant next year?

Oh, gotta get the kids up- BRB!

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about the pump. That is such a ridiculous thing for them to stop paying. We had an article in yesterday's paper about the way diabetes related illnesses are increasing with the poor economy. People are losing jobs and health insurance and therefore are foregoing their diabetes medical supplies. Lots of them are winding up with serious consequences.

And on that note, I need to get off the computer and go test my glucose levels. I'm having a hard time controlling mine right now. I have a feeling that the next time at the doctor's office, they will change my meds. Oh well, it could be much worse.

Hope everyone has a good day. It's Tuesday...only 4 more days until the weekend. LOL

Linda- are you are oral diabetes meds? I don't know if that seems harder or not than injections -- at least control-wise :D
And then there is me- hypoglycemic now (Thank you Lyme LOL) -- I don't think anyone is "normal" any more hahahaha

And yes, I have been hearing the same things here- with people scrimping on meds and med. treatment. I know I have stretched my contacts until I can barely wear them, and I have done the same with my Rx's. Cruddy thing that you can't do that with insulin-- I wish I could share my "extra." with Gary. :D
Heh- that reminds me as I was talking to one of the people I was talking to yeserday trying to get this pump/strips crud going-- I asked her how they could not pay for this, that if he doesn't get it, he'll die. Then I said- No- he'll end up inthe hospital and the state is going to have to pay *even more* for him. Makes nooo sense!!!!!!!!
(can you tell how upset I am by this??)

*deep breath*

Hi Dumpty-- how are things by you?

Clara!! OMG!!!! You are so funny- MMG would have been with Derek- not laughing at all. I am so glad you were able to find the humor in that.
Yes, my mom is awesome, I am very very blessed!
BTW- did you hear from Selita? I got confirmation that she picked it up yesterday at 4 pm ;)

Tali- oh the reception sounds like fun- what a nice time!!! Hope that the twinks are better today.

Kelly- I use CS2-- there should be a lot of tutorials out there for it. try about.com--
If you have any questions, just ask!

Hi Dawn!!

Have agreat day my friends!!

Morning everybody!

Chris-I am so with you on your hatred for health insurance. They are a major PITB to deal with and it seems like have no common sense at all. At work we fight with them on everything from meds to testing to hospital admissions to which doctors we can send pts to. It is ridiculous. There's a so-called 'doctor' or 'nurse' pencil-pusher on the other end of the phone who in my little imagination is probably about the size of a pea (and no brain to speak of) with a megaphone up to his mouth and a huge magnifying glass reading from his huge book of regulations nitpicking through there find any and every reason why not to let the pt have what the doctor who EXAMINED the pt ordered. I tell you it galls my innards LOL. Sorry to rant but I am very passionate in my hatred for this.

I will definitely be praying for you and Gary and all. I know life throws curves, but my goodness y'all have had way more than 10,000 people's shares! (((((hugs)))))

Hi Linda, Tali, Kelly, Kristin, everyone!! I will be back after work to check in :). Big hugs to all! Love y'all!

good morning ladies!! I'm feeling all refreshed and raring to go..I got home last night, ate dinner and laid down to rest...and I CRASHED!! So I slept from 8pm to 7am!! Guess my body thought it needed the sleep lololol! So needless to say absolutely NOTHING happened in my little world to report on last night!

Which of course means I didn't get back here to read up on everyone:-( SOOORRYYY!!!!!!! But here today!!!

Chris: Girl it is sooo not you..it sounds as if all this medical crap has been ridiculously difficult! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed you get a BREAK soon!! I live in Garner, NC. It is about 30 min. south of Raleigh, NC (most people know raleigh NOT garner :)) And on the flowers..lol...yeah my grandmother grew roses most of her life so I knew the "they are typically not for beginners" moto...but I swear to you...I bought the Joseph's coat climbing rose, and ones called petal pushers for the front beds...ALL I did was include good soil when they were planted and watered and fed them reliably for about the first month..after that..life hit and they got IGNORED!!! Even my grandmother was amazed! lol And Yeah I know morning glories will take over that is actually why I want them...I have 120 FEET of fence to cover and didn't just want MORE GREEN! The morning glories grow well here wild so I'm sure if I actually bother to take care of them they will cover my fence just fine! :) (at least that is my hope!) And as for the reseeding around here they come back without much intervention so I'm not toooo worried :) I'll probably try and save some seeds just in case though :)

quick hi from me... I think Matthew's still feeling kinda yucky today... his temp is almost 100, so i'm thinking he's got a bug of some sort... I hope its just a bug anyway... with no insurance until May 1, I don't know how I'd afford a doctor's visit *sigh*

Chris - I'm sorry... what a sucky thing for medicaid to do! I don't know how they can deny stuff like that.. it just makes NO sense... I'll be praying that something works out!

Hi Dawn and Linda!

Love you guys!

Tuesday and back to school with me. It will be a busy week as I have a meeting all day tomorrow then State Convention begins Sunday afternoon and runs through Tuesday! Getting 45-50 kids all moving in the right direction at the right time is a challenge

I had a great day with the girls yesterday. Ali mostly slept on the couch, but Noelle and I got a ton of cleaning and organizing done. We found some dishes and kitchen stuff in our storage room that she took back to college for her apartment. All her roomies are graduating so there goes all the kitchen stuff! We also did a nice walk around our land and checked out what perennials are starting to come up and identifying things that may have not survived the winter. I am putting in about 10 grape vines this spring so we got that area planned out so we can build the arbor and get the grapes in as soon as the ground is thawed and sufficiently warmed up.

My inlaws will be back from Arizona in about 2 weeks! Yay! I LOVE my inlaws! The spend the winter in Yuma and are then home for the summer. My FIL helps with gardeinging and MIL helps with canning. They've always lived about 150 miles from us but bought a condo 13 miles away last summer. It will be so nice to have them close by!

Ok, got to get cracking on some State Convention planning.

Chris - so sorry about all the c%$# you are going through! I think you have every right to b%$^&
Linda - keep that sugar in check, I have several diabetics in the family so cross my fingers that I will dodge it.
Hi Dawn
Kristin - that's some serious sleeping girl! I need to do that!
Sandra - hope Matthew is on the mend soon!

Good morning everyone. Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday! It was a good day! :) :)

Question for those of you that do facebook. I rarely go there and don't really pay much attention to it. If you send a friend request and the person doesn't accept, what happens on your end? I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I just don't have time to play there. Does it hurt anything if I ignore all the games and things that are sent my way?

Chris, that is just terrible about Medicaid. I don't get that either. Just not fair. I'm sorry. I'd say your life has been extremely crazy difficult. Feel free to vent away. I'm not walking in your shoes and even I'm overwhelmed at what you deal with.

Hi Linda, Dawn and Kristen.

Sandra, hope Matthew feels better soon and that you don't have to do the doctor.

Hugs,

What happens is nothing..it just sits there as far as I know...and I know it doesn't hurt my feelings when a person doesn't play the games that I send.. :):)

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning!! My allergies are bugging me today...although I'm not so sure it is just allergies. I think I have the crud that Addie has had for the past week. I just hope I don't feel as miserable as she does. I am looking around and thinking I left my purse at home which means no meds for me unless I drive all the way home at lunch. WE'll see how much time I have. Lame!!

Well, not feeling extra talkative today but I always have something to say to each of you so...

Chris - Girl...you are always in my prayers. I was talking to my mom about your situation today and she told me I had been tested for Lyme disease in high school before I was finally diagnosed with Epstein Barr, another one of those "imaginary" illnesses. Even though I tested positive for it and felt horrible I didn't get all the treatment I should have and many doctors said it was a way to get out of a depression diagnosis. Since apparently they must think that depression is caused by a virus (hear the extreme sarcasm here). Anyway, I am so sorry that you have to go through all this crap with insurance and everything. Is there any way your family could be considered dependants of somebody else (like your mom) and get under some better insurance benefits or something? I really wish there was an easy answer and an easy way to fix all of your problems revolving around your illness. I don't understand why people who are so obviously sick can't get treatment. It makes me angry. Is their a Lyme research center anywhere near you or even not near you that offers any kind of care to people suffering with Lyme? Anyway, like I said always praying.

Hi Linda! Hi Dawn!

kristen - Yay for sleep. I wish I could do that but instead I stay up doing nothing.

Sandra - I hope Matthew feels better soon and no doctor's appt is necessary. Not having insurance is so stressful. Soon though.

LindaP - I am so glad you have got to have a great weekend with your girls. Sounds like you guys really enjoyed each other.

Merkee - I don't accept everyone as a friend on facebook. Some people just try and accumulate friends and I personally don't have time for that. Ignoring applications is also not a big deal so ignore away. I'm glad you had a great birthday.

Hey girls! Nico & I took a ride this morning w/ my friend and her son to Babies R us, we both needed some things. I have a bunch of cleaning to do this afternoon now that Nico is down for a nap, but it seems like I sit on this computer and my butt gets stuck....lol

Oh well...not much else going on here!

Chris - I just don't understand. It just doesn't make sense. There is just no reasoning with insurance co.s it seems like. I mean, I had to jump thru hoops to get Nico's forumla covered and he just has reflux. You gyus have serious diseases that you need to control with meds and I cant understand how that is just looked upon so lightly. It's totally out of control. I certainly cant even imagine it would help to write letters to...?? I dont even know who. :( Im sad that you have to deal with this nonsense. Like its not enough to have the sicknesses in the first place. Sorry I dont mean to bring you down further....I wish I was closer!!!! I would bring you some nice yummy homemade lasagna or something to cheer you up a tiny but!! I really do wish I could help, Chris!!!!!! And if there is anythign at all that any of us can do....you know!!!! We are all here babe!!!!!!

Hi to LindaP, Linda S, Dawn, Kristen, Sandra!

Merkee...no problem ...go ahead and IGNORE! They dont see that you are ignoring it......

Clara - Hope you are feeling better. You must be a little under the weather If youre not feeling talkative!! Do you have a fever??? j/k!! Love ya! :p

Merkee-Hey there! I hope you had a great b-day :). I don't keep up with Facebook much, I joined because of people at work but I ignore all the little games and such, too, no one's bit me cause of it yet!

Hi Kristin-hope you had a good day! You are one busy beaver so I'm not surprised you have a marathon sleep every-so-often!

Sandra-sure hope Matthew feels better soon, stinks that he's sick :(

LindaP-you make me feel so lazy LOL! mmm grapes!

Chris-hang in there, my friend, we're all thinking of you all and praying!

hey babes!!!

a quick hi from me!! it's like my brain is full again. I need to stop the caffeine!! LOL!! I get all of these ideas and run with them all at once. And on top of all my crafting/musical/schooling ideas (hopefully not in that order, hehheh), mr gorgeous decided yesterday that today we would start our spring cleaning!! Definitely muchly needed!!!! so go, mr gorgeous!! he set up a schedule so we all aren't overwhelmed and we actually get the job done!! yay!! the first day of cleaning is almost completely done! Just a ceiling fan to be put up...i think that's all that left!!! yay!

And my victory for this week so far is that I've cooked dinner for three nights in a row so far!! with VEGGIES!!! OMGOSH!!! i can't believe it!! :)

Chris, we are all with you on the stupidity of insurance companies!! Omgosh...when i got pregnant with lillian, we found out that maternity wasn't covered???? what's up with that???? how weird! AND when she had an emergency birth and both of our insurances kicked in, I still had to pay 5000$ ambulance fee for the Life Flight that took her from my hospital to the one she got better in...that was after both insurances paid...(obviously not very much!!)!! Anyway, i second what Kelly said...we are soooo here for you!! anything, doll!!

linda, I hope your glucose levels were perfect!! praying for perfect health in your house!!! :)

Kristen, I'm sooo glad you are over your food poisoning!! :) glad you got to sleep last night :)

Sandra!! hugs to matthew and to you!! have a great night sleep tonight, hun!! :)

LindaP, you sooo inspired me today when I read that you organized all yesterday...so i got my whole closet done today...organized and stuff in the garage sale pile! yay!!! thanks for the inspo, darling!!

Merk, happy belated birthday, darling!! I waited until today to tell you on purpose so you'd remember my wishes!! ahahahah!! hope your day yesterday was fantastic!! :)

Clara....ohhhhhhh allergies, go AWAY!!!! hugs to you, my healthy Opartner in crime!! :) hope you are feeling better tonight, hun!! :)

Kelly, I also have the BUTT-STUCK syndrome frequently! heehee!! with ya, doll!! how fun to shop...wonder what that's like!! heehee!! we are on a spending freeze in our house! I'm trying to be good so mr gorgeous will surprise me with a trip to cozumel this fall!! heehee!! Hugs!!!

Dawn, i just have to ask (and you can totally laugh at me...) if your mistake was to not file your taxes or that you divorced your mr gorgeous!! LOL!!!! :) Ohhh you have a great time tomorrow morning at your meeting, and don't wake me, cause i'm sleepin' in! :)

and to everyone, I love you all!!!!!!

Sal - You crack me up.

Hi everyone! I know. It's late. I have a busy two weeks ahead. Lots going on. But after that, it slows down considerably. So that's awesome.

Chris - I'm sorry you have such a mess on your hands. I'll keep thinking of you.
Merkee - Nothing happens on the other end. No one is the wiser, so ignore away. I do that a lot just because I don't want to share my personal information with all those "applications"

Hope all the sickies get well and the growers get good weather for growing.

It finally was nice here today! Yay! Ben rode his new bike outside and had a blast. It's supposed to be nice all week, but get a little rainy by the weekend. I don't care if it rains, as long as it is warmer than 40!!!

Well, I'm off to catch up on more things. I'll see you all later tomorrow! =)
