HellO O-zies!
I am all "cricked up." My back and neck and shoulders need some stretching out since I ended up sleeping on the edge of the bed, trying to not fall off or get kicked by one of the dogs or my dear husband. Dogs are perfectly capable of sleeping in a circle, all curled up. I see them do it *all of the time!* 2 am... nope they have to be all sprawled out as big as they can be. No amount of me pushing them gets them to move either. Theoretically- I suppose I could teach them to not sleep on the bed... Like that is going to happen. LOL

I was able to get most of my filing done. There are still a few papers at the bottom of the basket that I don't know what to do with. They have been there for over a year, guess that's where they are going to stay. I know where they are if I even need them. ;) I spent a lot of time in the kitchen in the afternoon. My friend dropped off another bag of apples for me so I made an Apple Slab. It's like an apple pie but made in a sheet cake pan. I should have known that it was going to be too sweet and cut back on the sugar but I try to make a recipe the right way the first time and then adjust it from then on. Gary and Scott really liked it a lot but it was a bit too sweet for me. Not that I won't eat it, of course. I will!

I am not sure what I want to do today. The weather is cool but dry. I might try to get back out and do some more yard clean-up. I was disappointed, I ordered the shrub rake to be picked up curbside and then I got a notification that it was canceled. Now they aren't in stock anymore. I can do it all by hand, just a bit tougher on my back.
Scott has training today, I hope it goes well. Caitlyn is feeling a lot better too. I am bringing her to her post-op appt tomorrow and she should be good to go. Speaking of operations, my mom called yesterday and was so upset for my dad. She had taken a message from the orthopedic surgeon about his shoulder replacement. The Dr has *no* idea when he will be able to get it done, maybe over the summer. From what I can tell, the Dr doesn't have privileges at the hospital and has to wait for the other Drs to take spots first. If there are any open spots, then he can take it. Makes no sense to me. I think my dad should find another Dr who can do it sooner. I am going to have to talk to him today and see if I can do anything to help.

So that is it! Hope everyone is having a fab day!

@LSlycord Every once in a while I am happy when the weather is bad to keep me inside when it's the summer. Glad you were able to do that.

@taxed4ever I figured that you and your Gary were out and about over the weekend. Covid shrunk my pants too. Who knew that would happen? :D
Your house and yard must look fantastic! That is the perfect end to a busy day, sitting out on the deck. Your views are gorgeous. Congrats on getting registered for the shot. I hope that appts open up quickly. Happy early birthday, have a wonderful time with your sisters! I am sure that they are going to pamper the heck out of you.

Kay- I have one of the super-sized front loaders that can wash a King sized quilt or lots of towels and I still end up doing a load a day. One of my favorite features of the addition is that my laundry room went from an unfinished basement to an actual room (tiny but it has shelves and lighting!) upstairs. Unfortunately, the laundry room has become more of a bonus closet for the kids. I will fold their laundry and leave it in their baskets and that is where they stay. I am happy to close the doors and ignore all that. Wow, your poor DD. I thought two days was a bad recovery after my 2nd dose. It is really strange how everyone reacts so differently. I would have thought my mom would have had problems with her BP since she has had issues with that most of her life. But she lucked out and you had weeks of hard times. I am so happy that you are doing better.
How exciting to have a set date for your sister and niece. It will be fantastic to catch up!

@nancyr the bridal shower sounds wonderful, and how nice to hear that you and your friends were able to catch up too! Ugh about your DS not being able to go to the game but that was smart and responsible. But the kids must have had a blast! I love the drawing that Livie did, you have to scan it and scrap it, that would be so cute and I bet she would love it. haha, you are creating more hockey addicts!

@scrap-genie I am so jealous of all of you having such warm weather!! We are still stuck in the 50-60s. It must have been beautiful to get out and see so many birds. You must have been a big help to the new birder, so nice of you to do that.
Happy anniversary!! 53 years is a long time, I adore that you still seem so in love with each other. You got a keeper. *G* (good thing after 53 years!) I hope that you are able to go out to eat, although I would understand if you end up doing takeout. It will be hard to go out to eat that first time for me too.
Gary noticed that the forsythia looks extra yellow this year- I wonder if the trees that my neighbor cut back are giving them a bit more sun. The daffodils on the south edge of my property are almost done but the ones that face north are still buds-- and they are only 50' apart.

@Cherylndesigns You and Ava are the best team- the shutters are going to look amazing when you get them up, I can't wait to see them all finished. She sounds like me, I can't paint/stain with gloves. Leah's hands are always covered in paint no matter how much she scrubs.
I need new throw pillows and cannot bring myself to pay ~$20 a pillow. I should check Walmart/Wayfair to see if they have them for any less. I thought Home Goods or TJ Maxx would have them cheaper but no luck. hmmph. Braden sounds like Scott- he can argue on the fly, also makes up jokes and freestyle "rap" where I need hours to think of something to say and it still won't make any sense. God for him, that is a great skill to have.

Better go make sure Spooky is awake. TTYS!
(BTW- Caitlyn's nickname was Pookie when she was a baby but that quickly morphed to Spooky and that has stuck :D)

good morning - well there is some sun peaking through but no enough. I was able to get out for a good walk during a lull in the rain. Not many out except there are a lot of fishermen at our river. It is a stocked river but most seem to throw them back anyway. Luther was exhausted from day care so that was cute. He is still sleeping it off today. Well NHL teams are now set so it will be fun to see if any of the trades make a difference. My Devils play the Rangers in the next 4 games so this is almost like a playoff series for my young players. I got a lot accomplished in cleaning up my desktop and backing up my photo albums. Now I need to get them printed.

@faerywings Chris sorry about the rake. Maybe somewhere else will have it. You need to be careful of your back. That is funny about the dogs and sharing space. And yes I will have to scrap the page of Livie watching hockey. They sent me plenty of photos so I have a lot to chose from. Good luck to Scott with his training. At least it is a nice day if he has to be outside.

@BrightEyes Kay you have inspired me to get my laundry going. I can wait for a long time but now I need to get it done.

@taxed4ever Trudy well the Bruins with their new player Taylor Hall play the Sabres so that should be interesting. The Bruins look like a better team after the trades. Please send Chris and I some nice weather.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl you and Ava are busy bees. Your shutters will look gorgeous. Cant wait to see photos.

@scrap-genie Jean you are so lucky to have 80 degrees. I want that so badly. The birding sounds so awesome. Congrats on 53 years. So cool!

Waving to all - Have a great day.

DH is at the dentist and I was going to try finishing up taxes, but started late and here I still am. It's a lovely day but cool.

@faerywings Chris, hope your cricks worked loose and the kids are both having good days. The worst organizing thing is when I don't know where something should go. If it doesn't have a home, what to do? You asked for a bigger picture of the drawing, Imagine, so...see below I guess. It is only about 12" x 9".

@nancyr Nancy, how cute to have the scrapping opportunities with the kids. You know the warmer weather is coming but we did luck into a spell of it that brought the migrants in.

@taxed4ever Trudy, Happy Birthday tomorrow!

Wishing you all a great day! :D

Late getting in here today. Woke up at 4:30AM and couldn't go back to sleep. Putz around awhile then grabbed a shower and dressed. I was the first customer at the hair salon when they opened .... and got the gal who had cut my hair before. She did a great job on it today. Finally got my summer hair cut the way I wanted it. Whoo-whee! It was the worth having to take a detour to get there. The city is tearing out about 4 miles of the southbound side of the 4 lane street so I couldn't turn left to get into the strip mall. Had to go up another very long block then onto another street to get there. Won't be going on that street until they get it finished as it a PITA while it is only 1 lane each way. Crossed over to WalMart while I was in the area and picked up some groceries. They have gone to all Self-serve check-out which I hate as I write checks. Thank goodness they had lots of help in the self-serve area and one gal helped check me out. I am going to check out the other WM near the mall and see if they are doing the same. If they had registers with clerks there, I will start going over to that one. They are just about the same distance from my house. Then I had to run over to the Post Office to mail some bills and get more stamps. Wow... my timing was great as only 1 more person ahead of me there. Was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Tomorrow will be an out-and-about again. Need to go to the Credit Union then stop at the veggie market and Sam's Club.

Chris, so sorry they didn't have the rake you wanted. Yes, that would help with your back when working in the yard. Do take it easy when you are working out there.

Trudy, Happy Birthday tomorrow.

Good afternoon all!

Daisy and I just got back from our walk. We walk further every day and today is only in the mid 60's so she doesn't get so hot. We have to have her fur taken down next time, but I love her fur this long. She just gets too hot. Her fur is super thick - she's wooly like a lamb.

I'm SO glad I didn't con hubby into helping me drag those shutters up onto the tables so I could stain the backs. We got a bad unexpected rainstorm and it would have been down the tubes. Sometimes things just work out right, don't they?

With Ava's work schedule, we probably won't get to do anything until this weekend, unless she doesn't have to work. It's kind of last minute with one of her nanny jobs. She nanny's for two different families and one of the families are both doctors so they're on call a lot.

Chris @faerywings your darned back pain, girl!! Can you see a chiropractor, or do they help you? They really help me! My SIL like acupuncture - heck no - NO needles!!!

Kay @BrightEyes up at 4 AM??? As my grandma used to say "Laws a mercy". LOL She couldn't say "Lord" because it was against her religion, so "Laws" was next best. You and I are polar opposites, aren't we? Early to bed - late to bed: early to rise - late to rise. LOLOLOL The other night I had "one of those sleepless nights" and I laid in bed until after 4 AM - I did get back up - I can only stand to lay there for an hour and then I have to get up. Anyway, I calmed myself by thinking that at least I'd see the RARE sunrise if I didn't go to sleep soon. ROTF

Nancy @nancyr Poor Luther - they have so much fun at doggy daycare, but they're pooped when they get home. All of our dogs have been that way. We had a "devil dog" once, named Bailey - he was half full blooded Lab and half full blooded Shepherd. We called him a Leopard. Well, I called him Devil Dog. He was THE worse puppy we ever had! He was huge even as a pup and got up to 150 pounds. He ended up being THE sweetest dog and my dad nicknamed him The Gentle Giant. I used to look at him and tell him that he was lucky he lived through his puppyhood, that's how bad he was. Anyway, I digress. Our local vet had a Doggy DayCare "school" and it was inexpensive. Guess who ended up there a LOT? Bailey! The trainers worked with him while he was there, too. That's where i got my "military voice"! The trainers were on me constantly because I was too soft spoken with him. I learned to be "militant" at that school.

DH decided to put an invisible fence around our backyard. Guess what? That devil dog ran right through it! Didn't even slow him down. He also demolished 3 metal dog crates! We came home and they were in shambles. Why am I rambling on about Bailey? I have NO idea. BWAHAHA

Trudy @taxed4ever HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow!!! Have a wonderful day!!

Hugs to all and waving

Hello girls!
I'm sorry, I wasn't good friend and member and I'm skip lot of days! But my house was such a circus (at the nice meaning), and also I'm feeling something like Chronic fatigue and cheating and gets every moment when can be alone for sleep!
So my sister came to be with us for the Easter, but first she have to stay isolated. So sis can't be with us, but still can see the dog, so we bring her to make her company, and in the time for walk, get her back home with the boxes of food, that my sister is cook for us. It's so fun, like we have our own five stars take away, drive in, or whatever you call it, it's flies away from my mind. I told to my mom that I love her from the bottom of my heart, but no one can compared to my sister's food, and she replied, that she can't argue for that.
Dad opened the roof, as like I was mentioned few months ago, this winter it was start to dripping. He was impatient to do this but this spring was cold and didn't give earlier chance. I'm afraid from height and deep, so it was freaking scary to watch and listen him walking there. But cats was charmed that human can do this, which is their favorite thing at summer evenings, so they was all around him! And I had to lock them for a while.
Me and mom was making Spring cleaning. And I have no idea why is called like that, when it's mostly laundry. All thick warm blankets, jackets, clothes was laundry and line dried. Just to start pouring rain today and now I'm freezing.

Now excuse me if I'm missing something important and just let me know!

Chris, OMG, what was this surgical procedure? How is Cait now? Someone mentioned it is dentist, but your description freaks me out. This pie sounds delicious, nothing can't be too sweet for me, I think it's not exist such a thing as 'too sweet', like 'too pretty' or 'too rich', it's just not possible. LOL! Hope your dad will listen you for better doctor!

Nancy, sorry that your son have troubles in his marriage! These times makes everything so hard. I was so happy to read how rest of the family is back to the real life with friends and hockey !

@scrap-genie Jean, my darling, I love this drawing! Yeah, I'm the same hoard too much stuff for which I don't really have a space! Was so happy to hear for you having fun on the Birding weekend!
Happy anniversary! Wish you many more happy moments together!

Cheryl, I was giggling on Ava and her hands after the shutters update. I had similar situation/look few summers ago.

Kay, congrats for the summer hair cut!

Linda, great that you had some scraping time! I need to do that soon too!

@taxed4ever Trudy, you are one busy bee! Have fun at yours few day birthday celebration! It's so cool that your sister extend it!
