The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
5 am is way to early to wake up, especially when you don't sleep good. I am guess that the majority of kids and moms in my town are saying the same this this morning. Back to school day........another year. Gads! My son is a Junior! That is flipping insane! Poor Cait is terrified. I tried to remind her how she felt in 7th grade, when she was in a new school and how she only new a handful of kids (6 elem schools go into one middle school). Now she knows the majority of kids in her grade plus a lot of kids in other grades that are friends with her BF and Scott. Scott has his 1st period class close to her's so he is going to make sure she gets there ok. I just hope he doesn't see one of his friends on the way and run off.

I wish I could make the nerves go away for them. Scott is already worried about his grades, (me too) ugh!! I wsih I could help them more but that is not the way life rolls, eh? So many wishes of moms. :)

There is one really cool thing about today though....

Back To School 2012
is here at Oscraps! There will be a ton of fun activities and prizes over the next few days. Make sure that you sharpen your pencils and get ready!!

Temptation on Thursday:
Blow off work and Scrap all day!!

Every day this week so far...up between 4 and 5....it does suck...but I have to say...I love that peaceful quiet....

Only made it to Sam's yesterday...so back off to Walmart today....REALLY?? two days to grocery shop??? Okay.....I need to stop complaining and just do it!!

I didn't get to go to Cameran's game last night  Jaiden was not being very good and it poured rain here at home..so I kind of figured it would be doing the same 15 minutes from here...but it didn't..Mike and Jesse went...it's things like this that really piss me off about being "parents" again. I should be able to go whenever I want to. I so love going to the games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will not say what's really on my mind...as this is a PG13ish forum (sort of :pound:)

Okay off to get kids up and have some more :tea:

I woke up at 3:45 and fell back asleep until 6:30. It was wonderful. Now to get up and going. Some countertop template makers are coming early this am- I am their first stop- guess I should get dressed and not greet them in my night wear! Later today- off to the eye doctor and followed with grocery shopping. Fortunately not on the side of town with the traffic and street blocking popcorn parade. I have never been- the word it- aside from the parade it brings out the riffraff of the town! Then - yes it is my day off- mowing lawn - over one hour in the sunshine!!!!!!

Good morning ladies! Hang in there Chris...you'll get used to it. ((hugs)) to Scott...hope this is a better year for him!

Oh Nana, I'm sorry that you missed the soccer game. I know that was disappointing.

Laurie, does that mean that you are working on getting those basement cabinets finished?

Have a good day all.

Yes I am - do I have my new avi on in your eyes- young miss school laurie- it is not showing up on my end?

Well, they got off to the bus all fine...... there are a *lot* of kids at the bus stop and since its far from us and the bears like to roam early in the morning, I usually drive them every day. The line of cars was crazy! We parked halfway up the treet. Not really, but you know me, I like hyperbole :D

Laundry is in, breakfast eaten, plants watered, and dishes washed.... off to work in a half hour, so what better way to spend the next few minutes then with my O Fam! I *could* be working on my tax application, but what fun would that be? *wink*

Nana-- that little school bus is your best friend!!! Sorry that you still aren't sleeping. I had the craziest dreams last night, even bizarre by my standards. After each one, I would wake up, roll around a bit, then fall back into another seriously odd situation. All night... :eek2:
Have fun at Walmart (ugh) but the good news is you will be alone! So sorry that you missed the game. I know that there will be more and all that, but that isn't the point!!

Laurie- WTH is a popcorn parade???

Hi Linda S!! ((((hugs)))

Yesterday:

Phyllis- I actually can't complain to other area in our state. Bergen County can easily have $11-13,000 a year in taxes!!! I don't like waking up in the dark and having it dark at dinner time, that is the worst!
Hope you had a nice shopping trip.

Nana- hey, I remember those alarm clocks. Kept on on my nightstand next to a phone-- with a curly cord LOL

Trudy-- one more day til your long weekend! yay! Is the boss being any less Chimp-like?

Heather- a lucnh date! How awesome!! I would love for someone to just cook and clean up for me some day.... Hope you had a really nice time together.
Hugs to Chloe- it is not easy being a "nice" kid sometimes.

jen-- that is not us making you head spin, that is your crazy bigger than a a hockey team household buhahahaha!!!

Linda S--- ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) Those memories never really ever go away, do they? I know I have said it before, but I am actually very very shy. I have a hard time making friends and meeting new people and it wasn't until I was in college that I realized I had a choice to either fake it or be alone.
And yes, make sure that you get sleep! Stress is sure to raise sugar levels!

Chris, as i was reading your post, and also Heather's posts yesterday about worrying about the kids in school, i started thinking about my parents when i was in school. and probably ALL our parents, when we were in school. i don't think my mom ever gave a THOUGHT to what was going on with me in school. my dad, either. the only guidance i got was that i was NEVER to get a "C", and if i did, i would be grounded for the entire grading period. other than that, they just stayed OUT of everything. they never asked about my classes or dating or did i have friends or anything like that. they just set down the rules and were there with consequences if i deviated. man. wasn't it EASIER to be a parent back then?? our generation is just so INVOLVED in everything, which connects our guts to our kids 24/7. who knows which way is the right way? certainly not me. i'm STILL trying to figure out whether anything i did while raising my kids even mattered.:loco:

Laurie, i want to know what a popcorn parade is! and if the riffraff are there, it might just be the place for ME! :pound: hope your countertop guys come and go without incident.

Nana, i have to admire someone who actually WANTS to go to Littl Kid Sports Events. i have terrible memories of Kindersoccer. you, as always, are my NanaIdol!

Linda, my blood sugar sucks every morning, compared to what it usually is, and there's nothing i can do about it. it's called the Dawn Phenomenon. i think it DOES have something to do with the quality of sleep you get, as well as the amount, as well as the thing a body does chemically when you're waking up. isn't Diabetes just the PITS? SOOOOO random.

just some errand running after the RoundandRound walk. then taking myself out to lunch at My Big Fat Greek Gyro, where i will eat as much gyro meat as possible, along with a lovely Greek salad and 10 french fries. ah, it's the little things that make like worth living, and gyro meat is right up there in making me happy. (i am soooo pathetic....:help:)

Happy Thursday. eat something you love! and everybody, let try to get some SLEEP somehow!!! :ohwell:

Morning sweet "O" ladies running late again, but should be here most of the day tomorrow so will catch up on personals then. Love you all, you are the best part of my day!!!

Morning ladies! omg I am tired. I had to wear a BP cuff for the last 24 hours and it took my BP every 15 minutes all night long! I will be so glad to hand that thing back today!!
Our lunch date yesterday was so yummy, in fact we are going again today, lol. Chloe had a better day yesterday, she gave up on playing at the park for a while and found a friend to play skip with :) I must go have coffee

Heather hope all is well- I remember the first time I had an automatic cuff on when I was getting prepped for a c-section- no one was near me and it started to fill and I nearly jumped off the table- they should prepare you for that!

yea it is just plain annoying now. But only another hour!! I think my bp may be a bit low so that is good because they will lower my BP meds again :)

Heather - They had an automatic cuff on me while I was laboring with my son... in some ways it annoyed me more than the contractions. (I mean, at least the contractions were getting my baby closer to being born, right?)

Today, I am tempted to hang out in the Oscraps forum all day, and to buy a bunch of new kits so I can get the novel collab. I'm really happy to have found such a fun community. I've checked out a few other forums, but this definitely seems like the place to be.

Oscraps is a great place to hang all day (and shop)!!! Welcome to the O!

hiya, twomoredays!! (sorry, i don't know your name.) welcome to this nutty thread. it makes my day every day! i think the plan for buying stuff and hanging out at The O sounds like a GOOD plan!!

PHYLISS!!! I need your help I didn't know you had diabetes!!!!! Last pregnancy with Noah they said I had it my levels were perfect during the day. 4.0-5.4 on average but overnight no matter what I did it was 6.0-6.8. They said it wa too high and made me inject with insulin. Every day I injected the baby moves less and less so I went in and a hour later they did emerg c-csection on me. I do not think 6.0 or under 7 is all that high I kept telling them no I don't want to inject and Rey were mean about it. Can you please tell me your thoughts on this ???? Please.

Oh - all my errands are run, my eyes did not change, I am recupperating from being out in public and soon will head out to mow my lawn! The template is made for the countertop, although listening to the template maker say= I don't know how they are going to get it down there made me feel oh not so cozy!

twomoredyas!! Welcome to the happy place! (crazy place)! So happy that you are here!

Eva!! Congrats!! Now you can drive to see me. :D

jen- Gary (my hubby) is Type I so feel free to bug me also. Your measurements must be different than in the US. For a diabetic they want blood readings to be 80-120 mg/dl (or something like that.)
just googled super quickly and it looks like a different measurement is here:

Normal BGL ( Blood glucose levels) -

Normal fasting lBGL- 3 - 6.9mmol/L

Normal random BGL- 3 - 11mmol/L

(Fasting is when the patient has their BGL tested when they havent eaten for a while, and random can be any time, so a while after a meal, just after a meal...)

Abnormal if equal or above 7mmol/L when fasting or 11.1mmol/L at random

FWIW-- IMHO, low blood sugar is more dangerous to a baby than slightly hiugher. I was having horrible times with cait when I was pg with her with my blood sugar dropiing to the low 50's and the dr said that it fell much lower the baby could die. I am glad that youwere able to have your baby safely albeit through and emergency c.

Jen, your numbers use a different system that the US. what Chris said is so. you must have just had gestational diabetes, which is not a permanent thing, i believe. if you're OK now, i wouldn't worry about it, though i do believe that having had gestational D, you have a greater chance of getting D later. if you eat right and maintain a healthy weight and exercise, though, that may never happen. giving you insulin shots seems a bit intense from what you related. you would have thought that Metformin or something would have been easier and safer. but i'm no expert on either. i control mine with diet, so far, at least. i eat almost no carbs. if you're concerned, you probably should get an A1c blood test, which tells the average over 3 months. if you have two in a row in the normal range, i wouldn't worry about it at all. but you should have general bloodwork done at yeast once a year. everyone should. good luck! believe me, you don't want this, so take care of yourself!

Eva, guess who i met in the Mall yesterday?? it was your CAR! i t was just sitting there, brand new, in front of one of the department stores inside, as an advert for the car. it's CUTE! and it was RED, too!

Thanks girls for your input:). I did have gestational with one child and not with the next two but again with the last one but I didn't really think that being high only in the morning warranted the injections. I thiught it was a bit extreme and I just want to k ow more in case I ever have it again. Hopefully not!!!!' my mom and brother both have type 2 and my mom kept it under control with jus diet for 10 years but now she's in her 80s and it's not so easy to control anymore. My biggest problem is I never take time to eat proper meals. Waaaaaaa I hate eating during the day no time.
