happy Thursday my lOvlies!

Today I have to wish my FIL and SIL happy birthdays! Yes, my MIL is one day older than my FIL. They were HS Sweethearts and are now 65 yo together. How cute is that? My SIL and I each have DD's who bracket their b-days by a week; my niece turns 9 on Oct 6. We are celbrating everyone's b-days at the IL's on Saturday, and we are also including b-days of one each of FIL and SIL's cousins. So that makes 7 names on one cake :hurt:

Today is my second try for my blood work and Phyllis, I caved again. I just had to have a half cup of coffee. I know, BAD FAERY!!! If the lab was closer, I might have stuck it out, but I have to drive 30 mins away, over the mountains and it is dark and rainy and i need my head un-foggy. LOL

Temptations of Thursday...
Oh you all know it- I want to blow off the blood work and have more coffee!! (Am I really that predictable?:loco:)

Back for personals in a few!

hey Laurie! Good morning! How is your basement? Good luck with the clean up and don't forget to wear a mask. You don't want to be breathing that stuff. How was work too?

Phyllis- 100% truth! And something they can't even see that "one thing" that is in front of them.
Honey where's the ketchup?
Its right in the fridge, middle shelf on the right, in the back.
No it's not.
*gets up, reaches in fridge, grabs ketchup, hands it to DH*

Does that sound familiar?? :D

That is sad about your neighbor.
I know this will sound weird, but I actually think that Type 1, esp w/ a pump can be easier to deal with. That was why I asked if you took insulin. Beofre Gray's pump, it was very difficult to time meals, to get him to eat when his sugar whent really low or to not be able to have dinner when it was high. But with the pump, it is so much more flexible for him. Even when he has his vomiting jags and can't eat for hours and hours, he can turn his pump off so he doesn't get any insulin at all.
My side of the family has Type 2 rampant in it. Gary's has Type 1-- some days I think my kids are doomed.

Anyway- sorry for the ramble.... ;) Hope that you have a great day!

Clara- you and me both re: extreme meds. I know a few people who refuse to take any meds, only natural. Its like you have to say an advil here and there is not going to kill you!
Good for Derek speaking to that kid. I would imagine that is one of the very few acceptable reasons why you could be late for a meeting on base. I always sound old and crotchety, but "kids these days" LOL don't have same respect for anything, in some ways.

Maureen, it is pouring again today- what a crappy weather week you are having :(
Crack pir- oh wow! That looks gooooooood!
I KWYM about that feeling of loss and grief. Its overwhelming, isn't it? We were down there a few years ago, when it was still the Pit, and Scott literally felt sick- nauseous and dizzy and heavy- as we walked past. he is very sensitive in that way. he was 5 in 2001, and he drew a pic of the NYC skyline on Sept 10. It was freaky.
I remember being at Gettysburg as a kid and feeling "off" when we were walking on the battlefield.

Hi terry and trudy! I am late, and have to get running, but want to say hi before I do!

::grouphug to everyone!

Morning all- Chris hope that blood work gets done. I am sitting here enjoying my first cuppa- really loving my keurig- I don't have to worry that MMG coffee will be cold by the time he wakes up today. Today is my day off- you would think I would be cleaning the basement. MMG said he will start working on it. I have a morning packed with errands/shopping- ughhh I just want to stay home and scrap. The earlier I leave the earlier I can get home. We have to go to dance tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. We are performing our wedding song solo dance (to Chicago's Color my World) next Friday night at a benefit for Marine Families- should be ready to not look totally bad. I am hoping to have someone videotape it on my tablet so I can post it on my blog.

Chris, i laughed out loud at your description of a man finding the ketchup!! HOW many times have i done that?? well, recently i don't allow myself to get to the end part, the part where I get up and get it. i just let him stand there, squinting into the fridge, until he finds it. generally i say something sweet like. "specific directions. a REELEEE small area in which to look. you can do it, Hub."

happily they just opened a bloodwork place about 3 minutes from my house. i iterally roll out of bed, put on some clothes and head on out. my blood sugar keeps going up the longer i'm awake without eating, so when it USED to take me 30 minutes to get to the lab, my fasting number meant NOTHING.

Laurie, i really admire you pursuing dancing! i'm imagining something really gorgeous to "Color My World." do you dance with your husband at events like the one you're going to? my penance in life (as a former musician) is to have married someone with NO sense of rhythm who can't dance and sings off-key!

funeral mass for my neighbor this morning, then some housework and laundry. i really have to tackle "my side" of the kitchen counter. i think i'll take a picture of my pile of mess (date book, coupons, mail i have to answer, books that just arrived from Amazon, 4 iPods....) that'll be my Photo of the Day. it's pretty embarrassing.

lovely Thursday to y'all!

Phylis- I do dance with my husband- prefer that to dancing with a professional-- as he is gone most of every week for his job. This is our together time- I'm the one with two left feet- he is the one who initiated dance lessons 4 years ago!

You can always use Vicki's 52 inspirations wk 34- letting go kit to scrap your photo, or wk 18's before and after kit!

Morning all!

Just a quick one to add to the spouse and their ability to see. Yesterday we went in different directions, and when I got back to the apt, he was already there. I took off my shoes and glasses and went to the bathroom to wash up. I came back out, got a glass of my breakfast tea gone cold and looked for my glasses. No where. I looked on the foyer table, I looked on the mini dining table where he was sitting with his laptop, I looked on the couch, under the couch, back on the bed, back in the bathroom.

I finally decided to take a shower & prayed incl a special to St. "Ant-knee'. After the shower, I repeated the process with dh helping me of sorts. (Now this is a small apt -think hotel jr suite). I suddenly looked at dh's pocket. There sticking up were MY glasses, not his readers which were sitting next to his laptop, the way he always leaves them.

So
1. They can't see what's in front of them and
2. They steal your 'good stuff' and don't even know they did it! :frusty:

Chris--you are one energetic lady! I get tired just reading your stuff.

Maureen--pop him on the head. I think all men are the same--either that or they really have us trained. I want to think they are just knuckleheads and that I am not that easily manipulated.

I was up early--4AM. I'm stressing with work and the amount of time I'm having to work. Seriously getting in the way of scrap time.

did I hear dance? My husband and I don't dance well together. We just don't fit--he's way to tall compared to me--15" taller than me. No, I'm not a midget. :) He's just tall.

I did have prayer group this morning at 7AM--don't feel as stressed now. Hope it lasts.
