Hey oooooO! Happy, happy Thursday to you all!

I think that I am in a somewhat better mood today. It is hard to tell ATM since all I can think of is :cof3:but at least I am not feeling quite as cranky and depressed. It definitely feels like there is something in the air. Everyone I know is stressed.

Yesterday was just a day. I made the sweet potato treats for the dogs and rats and then cooked up some hot dogs to use as bribes for the dogs when we are training them. We had some positive moments with them last night. J and W were playing tug. J was initiating so that is a good step. R was sleeping nearby so we didn't have any growling from her. W seems to get overstimulated easily and will then act aggressively so we now know to monitor for that. We are also keeping a light leash on her inside so we can grab and separate without them jumping and snarling.

Today I am getting my eyes rechecked for that retina issues-- thinning and grey spots. whee. I hate dilated eyes. My mom is coming with me so I won't have to drive home.

Gotta go-- W is crying to go outside.
xoxo

I am back. Poor Whisky has been having loose stools on and off since we got her. We think that it has to do with new foods. My dogs have always been able to tolerate new foods quickly but this little girl seems to be sensitive to it. At least she is really good about letting us know that she needs to go outside when she is in her crate.

Time is so odd for me, it seems to go fast and slow at the same time, things seem like forever and other times brand new. I am sure you all know what that feels like. In some ways it it feels like we have had W for a long time. But then I remember that 3 weeks ago, she was still in a Louisiana shelter. That is a lot for anyone to take in, let alone a stray dog.

hmmmph... I was feeling somewhat better but then Cait and I started with our morning chat and both of my kids are not doing so well either and that made me slide down a bit. They will be ok, I will be ok, but darn it, I am not liking this emotional roller coaster. :(

Anyway, on to personals.

Nancy- I think I need to read that book too- maybe thinking about being back in HS will make me feel better hahaha!!!!
The sun was really hot yesterday and I was only outside for about half hour collecting the seeds. Bet it was even warmer by you.

Trudy- how was your hike? I am so happy that you are still doing this. Woot on the pool being practically empty.
I started wearing my night guard again too. I hate how clunky it is, but it does help when I wake up and I am not in too much jaw/head pain. I hope that wearing yours again will help your headaches.

Rae- how did the meeting with the EO lady go? That is awesome that she is so helpful.
We are trying to get the dogs on walks every day but J is a butt and doesn't like to walk on the street. You can see that they do well together side by side so we will keep at it.

Felis- I think I will give that book a pass. I have several on my bookshelf that people have given to me knowing that I love dogs. But knowing what happens to the dogs keeps me from reading them LOL

Jean- that sounds like a fascinating genealogical search fo rthe grandmother. Good luck with it!
Enjoy all of the birds too!

I guess I should get my day started. (do I have too??)

xoxoxo!!!

good morning - had a lovely dinner with my girlfriend and her daughter. Then came home and watched Devils hockey. Wow my team defeated the Washington Capitals and they had most of their regulars as did we and we won 4-1. Now I have to wait until Oct 7 for the home opener. I hope they keep on practicing and remember how to play. It will be interesting to see the final roster. Luther and I had a nice walk to the mailbox and on the way we met Buddy and he was so happy to meet another dog. The weather here is turning to fall. Humidity is lowering.

Chris that is such a good idea about a light leash on. Our trainer had us do that with Luther so he could be corrected at the time he misbehaved so he would know. It worked like a charm. Poor W and her loose bowels. thank goodness she lets you know when she needs out. Sorry about the kids. But so glad you are there for them.

Trudy can't wait to hear about the hike. You are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous area. And to have a pool almost empty. You rocked yesterday.

Rae how fun to have someone so helpful with your EOs. Glad you are relaxing in the evenings. Hoping for a fast recovery!

Felis sorry about the rain. I know we need some but I really love the sun. Hope the animals are not too fed up with the rain.

Jean you are always doing such fun research. Hope it goes well. Glad the birds are coming. How funny the cat does not mind rain. My cat does not like wet at all.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies... it looks to be another sunny day today, although it is fall temps outside right now, a bit chilly! Yesterdays hike was lovely, some very steep ups and downs, but lovely views at the top! We stopped for lunch when we made it to the summit and then the climb down the other side was very steep! I need to get some walking poles for hikes like that they really do help you to keep from slipping! Hope to make a layout or two of my last couple of Hikes. I still want to make a photo book of all of my hikes and really should just buckle down and do it!!

Chris - That is too bad that you are still feeling discombobulated!! I hope that this passes soon and that everyone will be feeling well again at your house! Sorry that the kids are also feeling unwell, they are lucky to have such a great Mom and Dad to carry them through the tough times! Poor W that is not pleasant for sure, yes it is good that she lets you know when she gotta go!!! Hope that you can find some sunshine in your day today!

Nancy - Wow your team is rocking their hockey games lately! Hope that they continue on with their good playing! Glad that you and Luther had a nice walk this morning and met up with his friend!! DD was telling me that the weather was changing for them also, she is happy for the cooler temps as everyone was having trouble getting good sleeps lately.

Rae - Hoping that your sinus infection is all cleared up by now! So nice that you are getting such great service from your EO lady! Perhaps today the work load will not be too great and you and Taz can get out and enjoy this lovely weather today!

Felis - Hoping that the rain has stopped for you, even if you enjoy the rain it is nice when it quits and sun comes back out! All those muddy paws must get to be annoying after awhile LOL. If you figure out a better system for filing your photos let me know. I could use the advice!!

Jean - Your research sounds so interesting! I really have to see how FIL and MIL are coming along with all of their research. How nice to have all the birds showing up in yard!

OK today I am heading to Chemainus to meet up with SIL Linda for our annual visit to the Christmas Store. Hope I can find some cute tree ornaments for all four of my grands today! It will be a good day to explore the great shops in this cute little town! Have a wonderful day everyone

Today was the best day I had this month! It's cloudy but warm, so we made a long city walk to the park we don't visit often. Not much leafs are yellow yet, so it wasn't so pretty like I was promise to the others, but we still had a good walk. Also one of my favorite bands have a new album which I listening today for a first time and it's pretty good.

Nancy, I hope you and Luther you enjoyed the walk as much as we did today. Oh, actually I love the rain and clouds, and the whole autumn. The dogs found it boring, but cats looks like they have fun, especially to sneak in muddy, and make me I chase them to clear all the paws.

Oh Chris, poor Whisky, this baby will need much time, who knows what she is pass thru, before to meet you. This is one of the reasons I to be surprised how short fostering period thet give you, can you inagine what will be if you was give her to another family and she have to deal with so many changes for so short. It's so awesome that you keeped her! Don't force yourself this way, keep it slowly and all be fine! Hope Cait, be alright soon to! Fingers crossed!

Jean, this for the birds is so cool and I'm sure it is make you so exciting! You have such a luck!
I'm not surprised about the cat, not at all, they just hate the changes. My Siamese still treat me so cold, like he is my boss and every other relationship will be unprofessionally , even I have him from one year.

Trudy and Rae, hope you have a lovely day too!

Trudy we cross posted again :).
Oh, please not just make a photo book of all you hikes, but share it also here, I'ld love to see it. When you say "steep ups and downs, and views at the top", did that's mean view from high?! I love these kind of places, but I have a foby from the high.
Hehe, yes all this muddy paws drives me crazy till I catch every cat and clean her, but the outdoors cats have their own room, which is tailored for easy cleaning, so it's not big deal event is fun.

Good morning, ladies. I'm sitting here nice and cozy in some tights, a long t-shirt and an infinity scarf on. I'm still waiting to be healthy again...ugh. I have no patience when I'm sick, I have things to do and hate this tired, foggy feeling. I met up with the EO lady yesterday and she made up a roll-on bottle of oils for me to put on my feet and elbows twice a day to help boost my immune system. I like the smell too. She only charged me a few dollars for the oils (I brought in my own apricot kernel carrier oil) and the bottle. She gave me the recipe too so I can continue making it at home. I'm excited for the season premiere of GA and HTGAWM tonight but first I need to watch Will & Grace which I hear is just awesome.

I'm running over to the mall at lunchtime today to see what there is for Bailey for her birthday (dinner Sunday here at our place) before shopping in Bellingham on Sat. I'm looking for a sale on slip on runners too.

Chris - glad yesterday was better for you. I agree, good idea to keep a leash on W indoors to quickly intercede when needed. I'm sure in no time at all, they will all learn their place in the family and how to interact together. Sorry to hear the kids are having problems. Did I tell you Bailey lost her job? She's lost 4 friends recently to drug deaths and was too depressed to go to work so of course they fired her. She's so sad to have lost her job which she loved but she just couldn't cope. Good news is she is looking into getting a new counselor to help her.

Trudy - a book of your hiking photos will be amazing. Have fun at the xmas store today.

Felis - I smiled as I read about your cats and their muddy paws. Taz too loves to play in the mud and dirt and will come in all muddy. He gets put into the tub with a few inches of water to clean up his feet.

Nancy - sounds like a good day yesterday. Isn't it fun to see our dogs have fun with other dogs? Taz is picky, some dogs he says hi to and then just turns away and other dogs he jumps and bounces around so excitedly, wanting to play.

Jean - are you on your way home now?

I'm getting to work now. I need to figure out what to make for dinner tonight and also need to make a list of what I need to buy for the birthday party this wkend. I would be lost without a list LOL. I am so forgetful.

Have a great day, everyone.

We made it to Indiana today and the weather was beautiful. We'll be home tomorrow. While DH drove, I told him an idea for an article about the German research I'm doing related to one I wrote a couple years ago. He suggested I start writing down the ideas and so I did. So great to at least have a start written down.

Chris, hope the day went better and that tomorrow morning will be happier. Poor W, hope she also feels better.

Nancy, how nice for Luther. And for your Devils. You imagine how happy I am to learn the Indians won game #100 today.

Trudy, the pages on your hikes are always gorgeous. Look forward to seeing more. With the climbing, I know you're happy with the "new" you.

Felis, so glad you had a good day. The muddy pets must have kept you busy. We've said goodbye to the cat in Oklahoma, but she sat outside this morning and let me take a few pictures.

Rae, I know you are impatient, but hope you are better soon! It'll be nice having a birthday for Bailey.

Home soon!
