hey hey hey! Its Thursday! Is that good? No idea! Its just another day I suppose. I am just more shocked at how fast this month is flying by. I know we have said it before, but time really does speed up as you get older.

I also realized that is why older women (mainly me, my experiment with a subject of one LOL) have no clue about fashion cycles. I brought down my Fall clothes from the attic yesterday and realized that all of my favorite tops are 5-8 years old, but in my head, I think that they are still new. Now my DD and her friends can't go from one season to the next without new styles and all that b/c to them, it seems like they have been wearing that forever. It also stands to say that as ya get older you don't give a crap as much either. Comfort trumps all! :pound:

I made my french onion soup last night and it was yummy!! Both kids are having friends over for dinner tonight and I am making stuffed shells- ricotta, ham, red onion and breadcrumbs on top. I am not sure if my semi-vegetarian kids will eat these anymore but they used to love them. *shrugs* Oh well, there is always PB&J.

Temptation on Thursday:
Anyone have a good cast iron skillet I can borrow? I;d love to beatmy honey over the head a bit. I know he is feeling miserable, been on IV abx for 2 months and isn't seeing a difference at all and is *very* (VERYVERYVERYVERY!!!!) cranky. He needs a bit of an attitude adjustment and if the skillet doesn't help, maybe I can just beat him a bit more till he stops cranking.

If no one has a skillet a meat tenderizer might do the trick.

Quickie Personals:

Kim-- how are you holding up? And your friend? I still cannot wrap my head around that kind of loss. More hugs all around.....

Nana!! Good job on the storage! I bet that $71/month is going to go to fun stuff like mani/pedis.... or maybe..... food. heheh!!
Hope you get some rest today after the little ones go to school. I just picture you waving so happily good bye to the yellow bus!!

Laurie- that conference was using the balls to build eye-hand coordination? Wish I lived closer cuz I could use help with that too!

Oh Eva.... as you know, BTDT with Scott (and Gary!) and it is hard. But the good news is that there can be a turnaround. Scott told me last week that for the very first time he can see college as part of his future. We had about written off any serious attempts to get him interested and responsible for his future, and he is slowly coming around. I hope the same thing happens in your situation too.
But I do know what a bad place it is for you to see your son feel that hopeless. Wish I could help.....

Ugh, I have to stop here, time to get the kids out of the house.

love to all! Be back later!

Good morning ladies! Chris, the French onion soup sounds delicious!

It has been a long week. Monday night, poor Shaun spent over 1 1/2 on homework and I told him to stop. And he hadn't studied 3 pages of single spaced definitions for a social studies test. (longitude, latitude, prime meridian, etc) Shaun is a 4th grader. Are the teachers insane? And through all of it, Shaun's attitude was fantastic!

Last night I met with a tutor for 2 hours. I really liked her. Monday night is his heaviest homework night so she is going to tutor on Monday night and Thursday night. It's expensive but if it helps, it will be so worth it!

Also, as president of the soccer club, I get to take all of the calls from the irate parents. I spent 3 hours yesterday talking to parents and emailing. Are you kidding me? Crazy!

Tomorrow, I chaperone a field trip to our local Living History Farms. Looking forward to that! And someday, I'm going to retire and scrap all day every day! ;-)

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Just a qucik stop in.

I'm heading out of town today to pick up our motorhome. I haven't driven it totally by myself---without hubby in it--so am a little concerned. The only thing I'm concerned about is if I have to stop for gas or something to eat. The something to eat is the big deal for me!! It should be about lunch time when I head back and wondering what parking lot can I maneuver that thing into. Can't afford to miss a meal! KWIM??

Now the reason I have to pick up the motor home. Craig can't pick it up this weekend because our son and his wife and daughter are coming to visit. Actually coming in tonight. I don't want to take all day Saturday to go pick up the RV while the kids are visiting. Makes sense, right. The next weekend was perfect for Craig to pick it up. I would be at a retreat--he could get it on Saturday. Sounded good until he was asked to golf in a golf tournament that weekend and "they need him" There you have it--golf takes precedence. Now I'm going to take the day off and get it.

Hope everywone has a great day. I'll check in later.

whew, I am able to take a quick break- and guess where I want to spend, it?
Here of cOurse!

Linda- that is just way too much HW, IMHO. good luck with the tutor, I am sure it will be worth it. Hope that your day gets better- and that you can retire soon and scrap :D

Terry- eeeeep! You wouldn't catch me driving an RV-- ever! (being only 4'11", I'd need a booster seat just to see over the steering wheel!). My dad is a fireman and it freakin' amazes me to see him drive the big trucks. But I guess if you are driving a fire truck, everyone else is gonna get out of your way, eh?
Good luck with finding an easy parking lot to maneuver in.

where was I from yesterday?

Terry! 80*-- cold front, sounds fab! Caitlyn was doing a project for Science yesterday and had to research record high and low temps in the US. She decided that she wants us to move to Miami- their record love was in the 30's and their record high was 98* she decided that was perfect weather! I tend to agree- but I could live without the lows of 30's....

Phyllis- hope that today is a better "head" day. If you need some cheering up, go stalk Eva's posts! She always makes me laugh!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm holding up okay. I think I'll probably be okay until the funeral on Saturday - if I can even go, I'm supposed to be working and it's pretty much impossible to get off on the weekends. Honestly, I think I'm still in a state of shock.

I haven't seen my friend, yet. She's got a bunch of family around her, and I don't want to make anything worse in this time. I've been keeping touch through another friend who is closer to her.

I think the hardest thing is going to be seeing her and actually seeing that he's not there anymore.

But, on the lighter side of things, Chris, I'm only 5'! Shorter girls unite!

Terry! eeeek! how can you even drive that big thing? Chris, you should see Terry. she's TEENY! good luck on the trip home, Terry. be careful!

Linda, that definition avalanche sounds nuts! good idea with the tutor. that should help your guy pace himself so that things get done. have fun on the field trip. it sounds interesting, and what a great time of the year to visit a farm.

Chris, i had to laugh about the fashion comments. i just got back from Lands End. i was looking for their fleece tops. my fall/winter uniform. (i made a page about that last year.) they weren't IN yet! my plan is to wear them every day, just like i did last winter. i don't even want to THINK about clothes and fashion.

Hi, Laurie!

well, i got all my little errands accomplished. now i'm thinking of taking a nap to try to get my sleep schedule back on track. HA! as if....

hope Thursday is going along as well as possible for y'all. make SOUP! you'll feel better.
