The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Well. Ok then. i survived the last week. Sure as heck had been a long one, but I am starting to see a bit of an upturn. *knocks wood and tosses a whole container of salt to not jinx myself*
So far today, (yeah, it is only 7 am...) the worst of my flare seems to be over, and while I am having residual symptoms, they are now more in the realm of Faery-Lyme-Normal.

Cait's b-day was nice, and we had fun opening her time capsule. I really did a bad job of filling stuff in the book. My SIL Diane was totally on the ball, she had her letter done on Cait's 1st b-day with a whole bunch of photos too. The rest of us.... well, not so much. I have to see if my mom ever wrote one because there was nothing in there from her which is very unlike her.
Dinner was yummy and her gifts were yogurt drops from the rats, for the rats, and a bunch of new toys for the rats from Scott. hahah!!
Made her very happy.

Today I *have* to work on my IL's b-day gifts before I head out to clean at my neighbor's house. Just one of many things I need to do, but it is all good. I will write my list and plug along....

TTYS!!!!!!!!

Trudy- you were up early! How was the day with MIL? The gardens look beautiful from the website. Hope you were able to get some amazing pics.
It is crazy that Cait is 18, Scott is 20...Time is flying but in so many good ways for the kids. She told me today (shhhhh..... I don't think I am supposed to know) that Scott isn't "researching" engagement rings per se, but keeping an open mind. *jumps up and down silently!!!*
That LO of Mason is adorable!!!!!Great LO and so happy that scrapping the pics made you smile. How could they not???
Still no creativity sparks here, but BTDT. Many times. I "finished" the LO for the Oct challenge but not very happy with it.

Question for you all, do you find that you like your pages that you finish all at once, or do you like to wait a bit, think on it, go back a later and finish it? For me, I do so much better getting them done all at once, but sometimes life doesn't give me that opportunity. Then I have to let my perfectionist streak go.

Nancy- I swear, Jaida is in the stubborn adolescent phase too. Has to be b/c she is being a BUTT! We are all trying to get back on track with her training, and I know she will get there, but who would have thought a dog could be so darn stubborn? LOL
Good luck with the training too! FWIW- Jaida is *very* motivated by dehydrated chicken liver (barf!) as a reward. For them, she will do just about anything I ask her and that came in handy when we had to do Sit-Stands over and over after her surgery.
Sorry that your hockey team has been so bad, but at least you are seeing men in ice skates, even if they aren't really playing hockey.
That drs appt story is almost exactly what happened to Caitlyn and i a few months ago. They checked her in at the desk, tbut b/c he was running so late, and then had an appt with a Rep, that they assumed he had seen us and took her off of the schedule. It wasn't until we walked out that they realized we were still waiting. That infuriates me more than waiting b/c you know when the dr is taking her time with other patients, although about as frustrating. And bo-ring!

Rae- how is Taz today? Hope that he isn't having more gland issues (more barf! The things we do for our dogs heh!!!) but if he is, he will feel better soon.

kat- bwuahahah!!! I will tell Caitlyn that the Wet Noodle said Happy Birthday! OMG- yes, if you ever make it to NJ (not sure why anyone would want to. but ya never know ha!), we would have to meet. I would love to meet *all* of you so much! And yes. i am as off the wall IRL as I am online, maybe even more. But the meeting would have to take between 10am and 2pm. I am not a morning person. Nor am I a night owl. I am pretty much a 11am-1pm person but I would be able to stretch that out a bit for a special occasion.

Love and hugs!

Morning O-Zies!! Well yesterday was just a beautiful day! We were early for the little ferry that takes us over the strait to get to the Butchart Gardens. But what a perfect way to go the Gardens, instead of dealing with all of the traffic and the winding curves of the Malahat Drive you just relax and look out over the water and enjoy the sunshine and when you get to the other side (20Mins) it is a short 5 min drive through beautiful back roads and you are there! Easy Peasy!! MIL was in her glory wandering around the gardens and really was anxious to see the Dahlia Garden as she has an outstanding Dahila Garden herself! Well we decided to go have our High Tea first as after over an hour of wandering the place we still had not found it. So we enjoyed our Tea, so delicious and each got to pick what kind of Tea we wanted with our goodies. I choose a looseleaf Teaberry blend and I loved it so much that I went to the gift shop later and bought two bags of it LOL. My only purchase of the day. Right after lunch we found the Dahlia's and MIL spent over an hour just oohing and ahhhing :becky: It was wonderful!! SIL and I were so busy talking that we didn't see her round the corner and so we kinda panicked when we couldn't find her LOL. After a bit of searching through the hoards of tourists that had suddenly showed up she was off in a little corner sitting and just admiring her surroundings Whew!! Anyway what a beauty of a day it was and MIL called me when she arrived home and thanked me again (about the 10th time LOL) she just truly had the best day!! What a nice feeling!! Thank you Butchart Gardens for celebrating all those who turned 80 years old this year and suppling us with free admission and High Tea for MIL and myself!! What a treat!! Pics to come later.

Chris - As for your question, I really have a hard time just leaving my layouts half done and need to finish them in one sitting. Sometimes I wonder if that is a good thing, because I have found myself wishing that I could just get the darn thing finished already!!! That is not supposed to be the way you feel about your creativity! I hope that you find something that sparks your interest in getting more scrapping done! So happy that Cait enjoyed her birthday, she is a great kid!! Thanks for the nice comment on my Mason page! He is such a Hambone sometimes!! Love that Boy!!

Nancy - OMG that is terrible that the drs. forgot that you were waiting! At least you had a hockey buddy to watch the game with LOL. Sorry that your team was a disappointment to you, but hey there was lots of hockey to watch at least! It has cooled off quite a bit here, but yesterday was simply beautiful with nice warm temps, but not too warm, cool breezes off the water, so lovely! Its nice that you are still enjoying warm temps and extending the summer into fall. Enjoy it as long as you can, because before you know it Winter will be here ugh ! Hope you and Luther have a great walk today!

Rae - I would love it if you came over to see the Gardens! Let me know if you ever do and I will try to meet you there and have a walk through with you, opps maybe you would rather do this with your hubby and here I am inviting myself :becky: Anyway you would love it! Hope Taz is feeling better now!

Kat - Yes our High Tea was fabulous and the little sandwiches so delicious! But the pastries, Oh the pastries were to die for! The scone's with jam and whipped butter too!! Ok now I am drooling again!!
drool-smiley.gif
Hope your day is not too stressful today!!

Well a few things to do around the house today and then I am just going to dow whatever comes to mind today! Hope everyone has a fabulous day!! I am hoping we all have some scrapping time in our future!

good morning - Luther and I had a great walk this am. It is gorgeous out blue sky and cool temperatures. Luther is behaving thanks to treats - Chris and Trudy he loves Alberta Lamb treats LOL. I loved today's walk as first we met lovely older woman who said she had raised German shepherds and Luther was so sweet to her. And then an older gentleman and his wife were stopped along the road and he was so interested in Luther and how he wanted a puppy. Again Luther was the sweetest. Makes me happy. But oh he is smart. He takes me on a walk that passes the homes of his doggie friends. It cracks me up - I wonder if he does it by smell or site or both I guess. But he did come when needed so that made me happy! Hockey was awesome in the afternoon game between NA under 23 team and Sweden. It was fast and skilled so exciting. The night game was Canada being its best!

Chris so glad that your week is calming down! Glad that Cait had such a sweet birthday! How fun the gifts she received for and from her pet rats.

Trudy your trips sounds amazing! How fun for your MIL! Pretty cute how she lost your two - I guess it is like a toddler and you don't want to lose them. I can't wait to see your photos. I had tea on the cruise and OMgosh it is so fun and the food was amazing. The ferry sounds so fun.

Rae I hope Taz is feeling better. Good thing you recognize his symptoms so fast.

Kat hope your day goes well and that traffic improves.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Spent an hour sorting thru more clothes and packed up some more clothes for charity (they are coming to collect today). It feels good to have sorted thru almost all of it and let the smaller clothes go. Darrell and I both agreed this morning that we are happy with who we are and how we look and it's ok to be a size or two bigger than we were 25 yrs ago. He sorted again last night and filled up a few more bags. So the spare bedroom is starting to look a lot more empty with all those clothes/bins out of there. Then I walked the dogs which was so nice to do in the warm sunny morning. I'll be heading out in a few hrs to take Taz and Ava to the park and then home for a lunch break while my daughter visits. Then back to work for the afternoon and have a pork loin marinating for dinner (had the first half last night and was so yummy so will share the recipe tomorrow morning, so I can let you know if it made any difference in marinating for an hour the first night and then the the rest marinated for a day longer). Watched the Big Brother finale last night which was fun. Taz was very blocked up so the vet said that next time (over the next 3 wks or so) when I bring him in he will show me how it feels when he's blocked and then afterwards will have me feel how it is when it is unblocked so that I can assess at home whether its time to bring him in. Ugh...the things we have to do for our furbabies LOL. He's a happy boy, jumping and eating more (he lost a lb in the last month which is not good in a dog his size). Poor little guy, I can only imagine how uncomfortable that must be for him.

Chris - I always finish up a LO in one sitting if possible. Sounds like Cait's b-day was fun. We'll be planning Bailey's 19th next week. She is sticking with her job so I really want to reward her with something special but haven't figured out what yet. She wants to go see "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" and we'll probably go out for dinner. I have a week to figure out what gift to give her.

Nancy - so happy that Luther is doing well with training. It's good to find training treats they love. Taz loves the freeze dried bits (bison) and will do anything for them LOL.

Trudy - yes, if I come over to see the gardens, you have to come :) If you knew my Darrell you would laugh at what you said....ha ha...him going in a hike (on purpose)....nope. Not his thing. Yes, I too loved the Mason page I saw this week.

Kat - hope your wet noodle status is improving :)

Gotta get some work done now so off I go. Have a great day, everyone.

Chris, I can't walk away from a layout. Some will take just an hour to complete, while others could take me all day ... but I just HAVE to finish - or start all over again. If I'm working with a kit that's not really my style (for a challenge or CT assignment), that's where I struggle.

Rae, I feel your pain with Taz and his glands ... Haddie has the same issue and they need to be done almost once a month. Of course, the vet has offered to show me how to do it myself. :yuck: There's a lot of things I'll do for my baby girl, but nope, not that. I'll happily pay for a tech at the vets office to do that for me.
