The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Who would have thought that NJ was going to be the new Tornado Alley? We had tornado watches and warnings al across the state, I saw there were touchdowns in Central Jersey. What a mess of weather we had here, NY, and CT. Roads are closed all over due to flooding and downed trees and wires. Thank goodness Caitlyn doesn't have to be on campus until later today. She would have had to detour all over the county to get there. I wonder how Scott is going to do at work too. Although he drives a brand new work pickup which he really likes. He says it makes his CRV feel like a Matchbox.

I am so glad that I spent the day at home yesterday, my brain was a disaster. Had I attempted to go food shopping I would have come home with a cart full of chocolate donuts and coffee and nothing else. (Not that there would have been anything wrong with that! LOL)
I didn't get anything actually accomplished but at least I wasn't mad at myself for it. I did get to spend some time with the rats and I just love them. Olivia doesn't mind the eye drops. Although Caitlyn said that a drop landed on her hand, Liv licked it and then tried to wash it off of her tongue. She gets them every 12 hours. I will have to have Cait show me how to do it if she isn't home.

Food shopping is today and I should really start packing some stuff for the trip. I am still trying to not get excited yet since we have had bad luck the past could of years. But I don't want to be going crazy on Monday and packing everything *including* the kitchen sink!
I'd better get my day started, Scott is going to need to get into the shower soon, so I should get my stuff ready for when he is out.

xoxox!!

@tanteva I have a similar problem when I type "about it". I put the space in the wrong place :p
Hope you had a very nice time looking lovey-dovey at Urban and ya got paid for it too. (That didn't come out right, but you know what I mean!)

yay!!! @taxed4ever is back!! We have missed you so much!! That is fantastic news that your hiking group is back together, I bet that helps. Good idea to start out slow again. *G*
I am so excited to see your gallery as you fill it up with photos from the summer!

Eva, I think you do a fine job of keeping me in line. I cower from your withering snark.

@Cherylndesigns Poor Lila, how old is she? Is she young enough where it would be a quality of life issue if they get worse? Liv has cataracts as well, she has had them for a while. But rats are super adaptable and can get around the cages using their hands and whiskers as guides. The vet even said that if the drops didn't work, the "worst" thing that would happen is the eye would rupture, she would get abx to prevent and infect, and then she would go about her life with one eye. I obviously have had deaf dogs but none that were blind/limited vision.

@nancyr hope that you didn't get any wind/rain damage, I saw that your area got hit harder than up here.

Hugs to all of you!

Morning ladies... It is a beautiful sunny morning, but my goodness it is already so chilly when I get out of my nice warm bed! We have not had any rain in more than three months now, well no significant rainfall anyway. Everyone's lawns are dead and yellow and the maple trees are already changing their color and the leaves are are all falling off. One morning when I have the time I will tell you all about our feud with the neighbours and their leaking irrigation system during our level 4 drought. I get so mad about it that I need to vent to you all, but not today, today I am going to scrap!! It feels good to be back here with all of you! Yesterday's hike was lovely, although there were some that found it a bit difficult and we had to stop several times so that they could catch up, guess I wasn't the only one who needs to get back into shape again. LOL. It was wonderful to sit and catch up with everyone over lunch after the hike, we sat in a lovely park with huge picnic tables in the shade and cooled down. Everyone was in good spirits and happy to be back hiking once more! We will see how long it lasts, as our numbers are climbing again :( .

@faerywings Chris oh my goodness your weather is sounding terrible and you are right who would have thought that your area would be the new Tornado Alley???? Sure hope that you do not get any damage! Guess it goes to show you that climate change is a real thing! Who would have thought we would be the drought stricken province that we are, we are supposed to be the Wet Coast!!! Hope that the drops work on Livvie!! Cait is such a good momma to the rats! I got my food shopping done this morning and continue to do the online shopping and pickup, it just is so much easier and less hassle as we are back to mandatory masking again. BTW I think that coffee and chocolate donuts would be a great shopping experience! (but my stomach might not agree). Hope you get everything done for your upcoming trip, I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for you!

@tanteva - OMG I just about spit out my coffee all over the computer when I saw your post!! Thanks for the laugh this morning!

@Cherylndesigns - Aww your poor Lila!! So heartbreaking that she can no longer see. My cat went through the same experience, but he was very old and his kidneys were failing him also, so we had to make that tough decision to have him put down. I still cry about it. I too have a hard time thinking that it is September already, where did the summer go??

Ok I have downloaded a kit and I am ready to get some scrapping done! Hopefully it won't take me all day to do it LOL. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

Good afternoon all!

Chris @faerywings Evvie's prognosis sounds pretty good - the fact that she can still have a good quality of life is important. Lila is only 3! The vet said he'd never seen a dog that young with such a bad case. Doodles have "weird eyes" anyway. I call them "their Doodle Eyes". They're different from the eyes of any other dogs we've had. It's come on her pretty fast, too. I told you all that she ran back and forth between our houses and now she won't. Adrienne would take her out on their back porch and I'd stand on my front porch and call her and she's come flying. Now, she just stands there and looks at me and barks. She can't see me! I'm so sad about it! I've found myself treating her more special since we found out.

Adrienne and her ex (the vet) had a deaf Dalmatian. She was totally deaf. He took her from a breeder who was going to put her down because she was deaf and he couldn't sell her. :( It was so weird to remember that she couldn't hear. We had to touch her first to get her attention. I guess deafness is not rare in Dalmatians.

Eva @tanteva YAY for you!!!!! How awesome that you can take showers again!!!

Trudy @taxed4ever thanks for your sweet wishes for Lila. She's only 3, so that makes it especially rough. I'm sorry about your cat. :(

I need to go check the board and see about doing a challenge. Waving to all and hugs all around.

September 2 must be my lucky day! First we get the water fixed & I can take a long HOT shower. Then I get a message I won $5 coupon in a challenge. Then ABBA releases new music. Then I get a message I won $10 coupon in another challenge.

Do we believe in balance? I mean - if all this good is happening in one day, do bad things have to happen tomorrow?
