The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Happy birthday to Cordelia and Olivia! They turn two today. They are so darn adorable but you can tell that they are slowing down a bit, especially compared to the Crazy Babies. I went to say good morning to them yesterday and Dilly and Livvie must have gotten chilly overnight. They had crawled in between the layers of the fleece liner and then managed to drag the fleece inside their little house. When they heard the bucket of Cheerios, they poked their noses only out of a hole in the fleece. Too darn cute. Livvie took the Cheerio but somehow, Dilly got turned around in the liner and got stuck. She eventually worked her way out of another hole to get the treat.

W did great at the vet, all shots updated. The tech said that the rabies was around $35 so I went for it. Turned out it was only $25 and since we have multiple pets we get a discount on vaccines. The visit and meds still cost almost $300 but they are all good for a year.

I am not speaking to J ATM. (This is not true, I am just disappointed in her). I had her outside on her lead and I had my hand on her collar trying to get him to come back inside. This dog is a stubborn brick. As I was guiding her inside, she heard "something," took off to the end of the driveway to guard it. In the process, the lead had been wrapped around my feet and she took me down. Hard and fast... I *think* I had called out her name, then the next thing I knew I was face first in the driveway and had dropped the f-bomb. My next-door neighbor happened to be outside and asked if I was ok. I said I was and then dropped several more f-bombs.
Cait looked out her window when she heard that, saw me lying in the driveway, and came flying out of the house to help. I don't think I could have gotten up w/o her. She cracked me up, she got saline spray and peroxide, bandages, the whole deal. She asked if I needed Boo-Boo Bunny- a rabbit made out of a washcloth that you put an ice cube inside that I think is still floating around in my freezer. *grins*
Thank all of the gods that I didn't break anything, just bruised, scraped, and some pulled muscles in my hip/groin. I am hobbling but no trip to the ER was necessary.

Back to Jaida- the reason that I am disappointed in her is that she did not care even a smidge about what she did or try to help me. :pout: If I ever fall into a well, she is not going to be the dog I pin my hopes for a rescue on. No, she was only concerned about guarding the driveway.
:pound:

The weather is supposed to be nice today but unfortunately, my body is not up to doing any yardwork. I will try to do some scrapping perhaps.

Gratitudes:
-Cait for taking care of me
-Scott for cooking dinner
-Gary for making me laugh at his skeleton band videos!

Trudy- Did you decide to not hike yesterday? It was probably smart to not be outside breathing all of that smoke if they didn't cancel it. I hope that the family gets new pics to you. If they don't maybe you can take some photos and blend them into a seasonal background? For ex, if the photo isn't from September, extract it into an autumn leaves kind of paper/kit? You might already be doing that, and if you are GMTA! LOL
I really cannot imagine the sky being the way it is. It seems like we have a bit of a haze. There wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday and it looked like the blue was toned down all over and washed out around the sun. And this is on the opposite coast so you have it a million times worse.
Drat!! I am sorry that Heather didn't get her time alone. There is something different when you are alone, not just that the kids are sleeping or watching TV... alone is so nice *wistful* My fingers are crossed for her next week.
Yeah, I am the same way- I don't get the gender reveal stuff either. I didn't know before either kid was born, didn't want to. But even if I did, I doubt I would have a big party for it. Makes no sense to me but to each his own (just don't set the world on fire, please!)

Cheryl- Ack!! That is a fear, no internet. I could live w/o TV as well but the internet would be really hard. I hope that the router and all of its promise works out for you.
Vent away!!
Hope that today is a better day!

ugh...... I need to get up to got to the bathroom and I don't want tooooooooooooooooo, it is gonna hurt.........................

good morning - yesterday was catching up with sleep. The hockey game on Tuesday went to double OT so did not get to bed until after midnight and then woke at 4am to go to the bathroom and could not go back to sleep. Finally got up showered and when I went to take a nap my son woke me. So yesterday was sleep! I am much better today. TdF is great with all the racing as nothing has been decided. The commentators are all saying how nice the weather has been and that had been a concern. France has gorgeous scenery. Had a nice walk yesterday and had a long talk with a neighbor whose son was also a Marine and that is how we met. I think we both enjoyed talking to another mother who knew the pain of a Marine son. The grilled shrimp were delish! Also grilled veggies so that was awesome. And my oldest son came too. It is such fun to have them all together and laughing at old stories when they were kids. It is strange the shows I watch on TV all show people talking at bars or having people over for drinks and my kids asked for something to drink and I laugh. We have nothing.

Chris OMgosh that is terrible about the fall! I am glad that you did not break anything! Take advil if you need. Take it easy and give your body time to heal. Dogs can be so crazy and stubborn! Glad the vet trip went so well but darn those visits are so expensive! Hope that school continues to go well for Cait. And yes your Gary is awesome and I would love to see the BooFighters.

Trudy we are now getting some of the smoke from the West coast and I cant imagine how much worse it is for you all out there. How fun to read to Hunter. And I am sure that Heather will enjoy her day off. Glad that school is going well. The school system in the town next to mine has had to go virtual and suspend all sports activities as several students have tested positive for Covid. They say that they got it from outside activities not school related. So far my town seems to be doing ok. Hope things go ok for Heather's kids schools.

Cheryl living in the country sounds nice except I need my internet for sure. Did you try using your phone as a hotspot and grabbing internet through that. My son does that when he works from home but is away from home internet. It does use data but depending on your phone plan it should not cost. Just a thought. Enjoy the walk with the puppy.

Kay wow that is something about all the log in challenges. Glad you got it all worked out. Amazing how much we know about computers that some times I am not sure we know.

Jean hope all is well.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I slept in until 7:45 yikes!! I haven't done that in a long time! Guess I was making up for the day before when I did not sleep well at all. Yup another wonderful smokey day here and my eyes are burning and I can feel the heaviness in my chest. I think I need to turn on the furnace fan and filter some of this air in the house. I have already had an hour and a half chat with Hunter and Heather. Read lots of stories and kept Hunter entertained while Heather got his lunch, then we all sat together and ate. Put some music on for Hunter and watched his dance moves LOL Soooo stinkin cute!! This horrible smoke is putting me in a bad mood though and I really need to get out of the house for a bit, for a change of scenery! I think I might go to my favourite craft store and see what kind of new goodies they have in stock. Christmas stuff is already arriving to this store and it will give me some incentive to do some Christmas Cards this year. Not going anywhere or doing anything so far for Christmas so why not send some cards?

Chris - I had to laugh when I first looked at your post this morning! I read the last line that said "you had to the bathroom and didn't want to because it was going to hurt" so I thought oh dear are you constipated?? :pound: I then read your entire post. Sorry that you got pulled down by your stubborn J!! Bad dog!! But I know that you will soon forgive her. I hope that you are not hurting too badly! Good that Cait was there to help you out! It is such a shock to the body to have a fall like that! I am sorry to hear that you are starting to get some of the smokey haze from out this way, its amazing that it can travel that far! Sure hope you never get what we are having though! Yes I will just have to work with what I can get from the family in the way of photos, but still waiting for some 2021 Calendars to work with from Natali Designs. I love her calendars they are so beautiful and easy to work with. I think that everyone is going to be glad to say good-bye to 2020!!

Nancy - Ugh on getting the smoke in your area too, sure hope it doesn't stick around for long. We are supposed to get some kind of weather system move in this weekend and hopefully it will help to clear the air a bit! I am getting pretty sick of this!! Poor Heather did not get her day alone, sadly Mason did not have school two days in a row, but next week he will be in school everyday (well for as long this will last LOL). Then Hunter is in pre-school two days a week, so she should get at least two days to herself next week for the first time in over 6 months! Sorry that you did not have a good sleep the other day, but nice that you got all caught up last night! Yes the French countryside is so beautiful! It was the best part of our trip when we got a bit lost and were winding our way around the back roads, so pretty!! Hope we are able to return one day!! Your shrimp meal sounds so good, it makes my mouth water!! How nice to be all together!!

Cheryl - Ugh that is awful that you have no internet!! I would go stir crazy!!! Hope you get things all fixed up soon! Like the others I could do without TV, but ohh I need my internet!!

Well off to the store and then back home to get my page done that I started two days ago LOL. Hope I can sit long enough to get it done, seems I flit from one thing to another and never finish anything off. :mmph: Have a great day everyone!

Morning, gals. Well, it is back to square one... having to log-in again to all the forums/etc! Not sure what is going with it... still!!! There is a new update to Windows 10 that showed up yesterday. Haven't had the courage to install it yet. Wonder if it has to do with the problems I have been having???

NO...NO... Not good, Chris! Glad you didn't break anything but know how bad your body must be feeling after that tumble. Alternate heat and ice packs and see if that will help with some of the aches/pains.

Trudy, hope you didn't try the hike yesterday... that kind of smoke is really hard on the lungs and body. Sorry that Heather didn't get her day alone after all.

Cheryl, so sorry about the problems with the internet and TV. Hope you can get it straightened out soon. I am a bit confused... are you in a rental or are you buying it with plans to get another house then rent this one??? Yes, being in the country can be a challenge to get reliable service for them.

The morning just seemed to fly by and I need to get dressed soon.

Good afternoon, Girlios!! I HAVE internet today!!! It's a beautiful day here and Daisy and I took a long walk, then (Chuck) and I drove up to our new house, that's under construction.

Oh no Chris!! I can just see you flying down the driveway! I had a similar experience with Daisy yesterday when I decided to hike straight up a road and she had other plans. She almost pulled me over several times because she had to go investigate in the weeds. I told her she couldn't hike with me until she learned to behave. OMG - how scary that you fell! These dogs!

Nancy, glad you got to watch some hockey. We had TV today so hubby could watch The Masters. He was SO happy! Yes, living in the country has it's advantages and it's disadvantages. NOT having WIFI was a deal breaker for me moving out here! Must.have.internet! Yes, I did try using my phone as a hotspot. It usually works, but we're down in a valley and I think it's probably a dead zone. I used my data on my phone to do a few things that I HAD to do! We both have unlimited data on our phones, so that's a bonus. We don't get terribly good reception on them either. We've talked to some locals and it looks like we may need to change carriers. UGH

Trudy, glad you got to sleep in! I love it when I can do that. Hate to hear that the smoke is still so bad! If it's burning your eyes, it's bad!

Kay, these computers are wonderful when they work but I want to smash mine when it doesn't! Windows 10 has been a bugger for a lot of people - you'd think in today's age, we wouldn't be still having these issues!

You asked about our living arrangement. Our family bought approximate 50 acres in Oklahoma - this has been in the works for a couple of years. We're all building homes and one of them is finished, our granddaughter's. Ours is under construction - all of the outside is done now and it's inside work that should go relatively fast. Our daughter and son-in-law are building a really big house - it's slightly behind ours in construction. Our dream was to all live together (but not right on top of each other) and be neighbors. It's coming to fruition, and it's a dream come true, About the "rental" - it came with the property and will eventually be a REAL vacation rental. Right now, we're using it as a "temporary home" while our homes are being built. When we move out, our daughter and SIL will move in until their home is finished, which should be the end of the year. Clear as mud? LOL

I THINK I might post some pictures, if it's okay and maybe it will make more sense.
