Yippee! I am not as complain-y as I was yesterday. Still not 100% cheerful but then again, when am I? :floorlaugh:

My day was fine, nothing majorly good or bad. I'll take that. Dinner was fun with the four of us. I am really gonna miss the banter between the kids. They crack me up, every time. We have one more family dinner tonight. Scott works tomorrow and then we are helping him move on Saturday. He and Sam invited both families over for pizza Saturday night. And--- he was able to switch his hours next week so he can be here for Caitlyn's birthday dinner on Thursday.
Caitlyn (finally) asked Scott to be her Man of Honor last night too. She felt it was the right time-- it is the one-year "pre-versary" countdown to her wedding and one of his last nights here. She ordered a mug from Etsy as a gift. It is a caricature of him in a suit, holding an Oreo and a glass of milk (that is a running joke for them).
Similar to this:

So she has her Man of Honor and her childhood best friend is officiating. I texted her for her birthday on Monday and we were joking that we are gonna be sobbing. Then she made my LMBO-- she said that she married Caitlyn so many times when they were kids, and now she is the one to be giving her away Hahaha!

All good things♥

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and that's about it. I really should start packing, or even just gathering the stuff I need to pack since I'm going to be busy the next few days.

That's about it!

Thanks for listening to me blather on as always :D

@vickyday Thank you for the dancing elephants, they are adorable and made me smile :)
I have so many projects, crochet and others, that I can't seem to stay on top of either. You have plenty of time to finish the blanket.
LOL! Your "nothing on the docket" sounds like quite a lot. :housekeeping:

@taxed4ever Did the sun come out for your hike? I hope the weather turned out wonderfully for you. It's been so rainy here, I haven't been able to go in two weeks. Maybe I'll be able to go on one tomorrow, It will have to be just me since my Gary broke his toe. :/
Sounds like you are getting back into the scrapping swing of things. Did you take any pics of the Junk Journal progress? I'd love to see it.

@BrightEyes I hope that you were able to get the phone issues figured out. That reminds me that I *have to* figure out what is up on my phone with Google Maps. I rarely use it but I like to have it running when I drive down the shore. For some reason, I can never get it to "talk" and I don't realize it until I am already driving. I'll put it on when I drive to my friend's this morning and see if I can get it to work.
Good news that you got the smart TV all set up too.

@Cherylndesigns It's completely understandable that you aren't feeling chatty. I am so sad for you and the family and Marley. Any updates from the vet? It's awful how much we love our pets and how little we can do to heal them :brokenheart:
I am sending big human hugs to you. (More punctuation clarity: big human-hugs. Not Big-human hugs. That would be Little-Human hugs. AKA Big hugs from a little human.)
Trying to make you smile too. xoxo

@LSlycord Is your Dr appt today or was it yesterday? Either way-- good luck and I hope things are moving in the right direction.

Good morning ladies! Today is my morning to be grouchy I guess.

My appointment was scheduled for yesterday at 1:00 but they called me at 9:00 and told me that the surgeon wouldn't be available. So they re-scheduled me to next Friday afternoon with a different surgeon. So that made me grouchy. They had me do bloodwork on Monday and the guy couldn't find my vein...he messed it up two times on the right arm before switching to the left arm. And they were running 30 minutes behind schedule.

Then we had a huge rainstorm and the lanai flooded again. Which soaked my indoor/outdoor rug again. After it was flooded on Sunday and we had to haul it out and wash it and let it dry. The idiot who installed the screened in part of the lanai has the water so it comes off the roof and runs right into the lanai. He came and looked at it about 4 weeks ago and said he was ordering some part to make it so it didn't do that. We haven't seen him since. Yesterday, Brian called and said they needed to get out here this week or we would be writing reviews on social media that he didn't want to see!

I woke up to a big glob of ants on the wall in my kitchen. By big glob, I mean about 50. We have battled ants since we moved here. Fortunately, the pest control company is scheduled for their regular visit this morning.

I did get my Mixtiles that I ordered. I love having these wonderful layouts hanging on my wall. So I will try to focus on some of these positive messages and get myself back to where I can be a pleasant human again!

@faerywings very cool that you get to have pizza at Scott and Sam's on Saturday night! And that he can be there next week for Caitlyn's birthday dinner. Tell me again when you are going to be gone next week. I want to be sure that I have it on my calendar so I get in here and get this started.

I've never heard of a "Man of Honor" but I think it is great! They are so close.....why not?! I love it!
I'm confused about the "she said that she married Caitlyn.....". Who is the "she" in there? I think my 60+ brain must be missing something, LOL!

Good morning!
I was a sleepy head this morning and didn't get up until 9. I guess the last couple of days caught up with me, LOL. I got up early on Monday to get ready for the trip with Ilene. Tuesday Mark was up earlier than usual and I couldn't go back to sleep after he left for work, so I got up. After a good while I looked at the clock and it was only a little after 7! So I must've gotten up around 6:30 that day, too! Anyway, getting up later this morning has me feeling groggy!

I'm supposed to go to lunch with Mark today and while we are out we are going to stop at Advanced Auto to get some rotors for the car. He changed the brake pads last week but when I used the brakes on the mountains coming back from taking Ilene to the retreat the car wanted to shimmy something awful! It was scary! He wants to get them fixed since I will be going to get her tomorrow.

Other than that I may do some laundry today but that's about it. I need to work in the checkbook, too! I hate that job!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

I am so enjoying our cool and rainy weather. We had about 4 different rain storms yesterday... off and on all day. Only made it to 73F and I had the house opened up most of the day.

Good news... I made it over to TM yesterday. Turns out that there is a little lock looking like it is unlocked on the screen... NO.... that means the screen is LOCKED!!! To answer the phone, I have to "tap" on the lock. Then tap on the green 'answer' button. Which brings up a new screen with a green phone symbol that has to be grabbed and swiped upward! Geeze!!!

DD#3 came by in the late afternoon. She stopped by to help set up Netflix and AppleTV on my smart TV. She ended up calling Netflix to walk us through taking off her sign-in (which she had put on while she was taking care of me earlier this year) and getting my sign-on set up. The set up for AppleTV was simple compared to Netflix. Now I can watch those on the large TV in the family room. While she was here she went through the steps to answer the cell phone. I had been turning the cellphone off when I was not using it to conserve battery power. She said I should let it go to 'sleep mode' during the day then I don't have to 'unlock' the screen if I get a call. Turns out I wasn't tapping on the answer button but was doing an ever-so-slight push upward when I hit it. She suggested that I 'play' on the phone with a game to "learn how to TAP"...... :floorlaugh: :spinningchair::giggle4:goofysmile1 :floorlaugh: The new smart cellphones are not 'simple' to use at all.

Well... enough about my cell phone sagas!

Had to stop and get more coffee :coffeedrinker:as the brain is scrambled after dealing the smart cellphone.

DSon#1 and wife will be here late tomorrow. They drove up to San Francisco yesterday. He his showing her our country. They had done more road trips since she arrived last year than I have done in many years. Good thing that she loves the long drives with stops along the way.

Why do you put up with me????
I am literally off the rails. Every day.

Thanks for tolerating my kookiness
Ah, Chris... we get a huge kick out of your 'kookiness' and love you no matter how kooky you are!! :grouphugyay:

@LSlycord .... so sorry about the delay in the procedure... you have a right to be grouchy!!

@vickyday I would have been worried about the shimmy in the car, too! I am sure your DH will get it all straightened out for you before you have to pick up Ilene.

@Cherylndesigns Oh, no... sorry that Marley had a bleeding episode. Keeping the family in my thoughts.

The auto store didn't have what he needed to fix the car so I went to Ilene's and got her van to pick her up tomorrow.

Good morning, my lovlies.

I was so mopey that I walked up to Adrienne's yesterday afternoon to see the girls. Marley is so much slower than she used to be and you can tell she's not feeling good. Her poor eyes give her away. She basically just lays around. Adrienne was working and covered up (I told her I don't know how she concentrates) so I didn't stay long because she was so busy. She looks tired, too. We're all tired. She made pizzas again in their new pizza oven and she and Roger brought us the best pizza last night. She had also grilled some asparagus and it was yummy, too. Cooking for her is like scrapping for me - it's her escape.

Chris, we love your kookiness and it wouldn't be you without it - don't ever change, please. Then I'd be kooky and goofy all by myself. How nice that you're all getting to spend so much time together and how cool that Cait asked Scott to be her Man of Honor! Anything goes anymore and I love it! Ava is thinking of having her 3 brothers walk her down the aisle, that would solve her dilemma of her bio dad vs Roger, her stepdad. Adrienne thinks it should be Roger, but we'll see. Blended families really have decisions to make. One of Steph's friends had her dog as her ring bearer. Ava's now dating a Native boy and they have REALLY different marriage costoms. That could be cool, too - a melding of both.

Kay @BrightEyes , I'm glad you got your phone figured out. I've never had a phone like yours, so I can't help. iPhones are so easy that it's ridiculous. I had Androids for a few years and all the kids had iPhone. They told me for so long that iPhones were easier and it I'd known HOW much easier, I wouldn't have waited so long. I don't turn mine off either, I just let it go to sleep. I get too many texts to ever turn it off anyway. LOL My whole family and some friends text all day - Chuck says it would drive him crazy. It takes way less effort than actually having conversations, tho, and let's us all stay in touch. (We DO actually talk sometimes and even FaceTime.) Thanks for your love and hugs coming our way.

Linda @LSlycord I hope they get this surgery thing figured out that's terrible that they switched doctors on you and changed the date! Then that tech stabbed you so many times. I be angry too. I hate medical procedures anyway and they you get yourself psyched up and they go and change it. Grrrrrrrrr the medical crap is getting worse and worse. Just concentrate on your Tex Tiles and try to think happy thoughts. Thanks for your love and hugs to Marley and all of us.

Vicky @vickyday have a good lunch and have a good day.

Love and hugs to all and I' trying to make a comeback in here. Baby steps.

XOXO

Morning everyone! It is a beautiful sunny day and the temps are supposed to be back to summer HOT!! It will be humid also, which is very unusual for here. Yesterdays hike was very nice, it was cloudy for the most part, but the hike itself was good and our chatty group was happy and very talkative LOL. We never see bears or other wildlife we make too much noise :giggle4: . Today I need to go to my fav little craft store to return a stamp. Seems I already purchased that one . I really have to make a list of what I have in the way of stamps!! This is the second time I have had to return something that I already had :banghead: I must be losing it!! Anyway I spent the afternoon making cheesy zucchini bread and working on my Junk Journal. I arrived home later than I thought I would, as the group all decided to go to the Crofton Pub for a refreshment and some had lunch also. We were still not done being very chatty, seems everyone had lots to talk about! It was fun! Today I will be scrapping and maybe a walk in the sunshine, I will see how my day progresses.

@faerywings - I am so sorry to hear that Caitlyn is losing another one of her babies!! Please give her a big hug from me!! It was nice to hear that you had such a good time with your dinner I am sure that your kids will continue wanting to come to your house for supper! Yes do love your kookiness Chris!! It's what we love most about you!! :yourock:.

I am sorry ladies, but Heather has face timed with me and I have been on the phone with her for more than an hour :holysheep:. Now I am running late and still haven't changed out of my pj's or done anything else. Gotta run, so I will catch up with you all tomorrow!! :waving1
