My fingers did not want to behave and type September. My brain didn't want to think that word either, but here we are.

I am feeling pretty yucky this morning. I haven't been sleeping well. I have been having nightmares in my dreams. A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was dreaming about someone telling me I was going to be shot in the head at 11 am. I had another one last night but I can't remember what the nightmare part was. Toss in allergies and headaches and I am toast this morning.
My friend texted last night that I won't be able to clean today, she is having construction done on her house, don't know if I will be able to get in next week and the following week is when I will be away. Stress sure doesn't help any of that. :/

Would you believe that I had to rake leaves yesterday? It's at the point where it's hard to find the dog poop. Never a good thing.
And my BFF texted that her son got the official notice that he didn't get the internship in DC. :( I feel awful, my nephew is an incredible person and all of these months of rejections are getting to him. I wish I had connections, wish I had advice. I can't help at all. I hate that feeling.

Blergh

Anyway-- lots of hugs are being sent to everyone! xoxoxo!

@vickyday Nope, no rain in the forecast until Monday/Tuesday. Although if it rains the following week, I am going to be so bummed. It will rain next week and be perfect down the shore those few days. Right?? Right! ;)
Oh my goodness, your poor friends. Gravel is the worst. I have to say that I really miss riding but I don't think I could relax on a bike anymore. People up here drive so stupidly and the roads are always in bad condition. I am glad that you and Mark drive safe.
That's awesome that you are getting scanning and scrapping done, can't wait to see your LOs!

@taxed4ever yeah, that is how I am feeling today No no NOOOO to Sept!!
How did the appraisal go? Do they tell you mediately or it is something they need to write a report on? I hope it goes well and you get the reno loans at VERY low interest.
I bet the infinity card you are making is gorgeous, you have such patience to be able to make them

@Betty Jo I hear ha, it felt like I had just said goodbye to July.
I figured that was going to be the case that you would have to put donations curbside-- and that was the hard part. Well, do what you can *carefully* but don't push! Hope you and DS continue to improve
hahaha!! That is too funny about DS and the FT invite. My dad was trying to text and kept hitting video calling and was so darn confused.

@Cherylndesigns Are you getting your porch ready for Skelly Season? I should clean my porch, esp since I never got it cleaned up in the spring. I kept wanting to borrow someone's power washer but I guess now it's too late/too dry to do it.
I refuse to admit that it is almost Fall until it is almost Cait's b-day(21) and then it isn't Fall, it is Halloween :D
Thx for the link, I put them in my Amazon cart. We always have mason jars but I hate the metal lids.

@LSlycord ((((((((hugs))))))))))) I am sorry that the Dr aptt ended up the way it did :(
I have a love/hate feeling with MyChart and Dr portals. I obsess over seeing the results before I talk to the Dr but I tend to think the worst. Maybe it won't be as bad when you talk to the Dr. That said, whatever we can do here to help you, you got it!
Maybe it is all good timing that your last day of work is tomorrow. xo

@Amandajk No need to apologize, you are perfect the way you are. Pop in whenever you can! ♥
That is incredible about your family history/ancestry! I hope that you got lots of photos at the NA festival. Good vibes to DS and DIL-- after Gary got sick, we would have never made it if not for my parents and my ILs.

@tanteva so good to see you (and that you aren't in jail) How much longer do you have to do the voting? Good luck-- and take care of yourself. Sending you some calorie-free chocolate. Sorry if it tastes like chalk. (it is actually chalk)

@bcgal00 Are you feeling any better? hope so!

Aww! So sorry you are feeling yucky today, Chris! I hope the headache goes away and you feel better soon! Maybe you need to take a nap! If I don't get enough sleep, I tend to get a headache, too. What am I saying??? I have so many headaches, sometimes I don't know what is causing them! I've ALWAYS had headaches, even as a teen!

So you live in a neighborhood that you have to do poop scooping duty? That's one thing nice about living in the country, for sure! I would NOT be doing any poop scooping! That's when the dogs become DH's dogs, LOL! Actually they are anyway. They were here before me! ;)

Here's to hoping you get the rain next week (or earlier) and that it doesn't follow you to the beach!

Oh, and I LOVE September! To me it means there is light at the end of the tunnel and the heat of summer is headed out (my body doesn't handle the heat very well!) and the cooler weather will be here soon!

Hugs

Good Morning Everyone!

I did go to my friend, Carolyn's house yesterday for several hours. I took lunch and dessert (the rest of the 9 lb cantaloupe). I'm telling you that cantaloupe was really good! I was nice enough to leave her the rest, lol! We played 2 games of Qwirkle and 2 games of Rummikub. I beat her in all of them. My momma said there'd be days like that, lol!

Mark and I rode the bike to church. It was a beautiful ride weather-wise! Warm enough I didn't have to wear a jacket going but needed a hoodie on the ride back. Our services are 7:30-8:30 so the heat of the day is just about gone by then. I enjoy riding in those temps. Actually, I guess I will enjoy riding as long as I can lift my leg up and over the seat, LOLOL! :D

Well, I need to get dressed and out of my jammies so I can get some work done before I go to lunch again with DH! I'd rather he would take me to dinner so I don't have to cook, actually, but I'll take whatever he'll give me! ;)

Have a great day!

Yesterday was a busy day so I didn't get in here. I was outside at 7:30 pulling some weeds in front yard - then spraying weed killer all over the front yard. We have a break in the rain for the next several days so it was time to do the spraying. Had about 12 or so plums that had fallen off the tree and the birds had feasted on them the day before. So I picked some plums off the tree - 2 large colanders full. I only picked the ones that were loose on the branches and ready to fall. Most of them are not quite ripe. The tree is still over half full of plums that are not ripe. Had to get all that done before it got too hot around 10AM.

I got a call from DD#1 early yesterday - she is coming here - arriving late today. I am looking forward to having her. She will be taking care of some family things. Not sure how long she will stay. It would be nice if she is still here when DS#1 and wife come next week. DD#3 will be over on Sunday to visit with us. Will be giving her a big bag of plums...:)

@LSlycord so sorry to hear about your heart problem... let us know what the doctor says. <<< hugs >>>

@faerywings what horrible nightmares!!! No wonderful you have a headache and are not feeling good!

@Amandajk - No, it is not me on motorcycles - you couldn't pay me enough to get on one since DD#2 almost lost her leg from a motorcycle accident many years ago!! They were able to save it but it was over a year for recovery. We are glad to see you popping in when you can to chat. How delightful that your DH learned more of his family history and was able to dance in the NA gathering!!

@vickyday So glad you have some close friends that you can get together with and play games, etc.

@Cherylndesigns Hope you can find the fall wreath... which reminds me that I should look for mine soon. I need to get a new front doormat, too. Been looking for one but haven't found one that I like yet.

@Betty Jo Glad you are feeling a bit better but do be careful carrying stuff down those steps. I have several things that need to be taken to GW but they are bulky so need to have help getting them into the van.

The #coffeeis empty and I need to get dressed.

Good morning all. I promise I will be back later today with personals. But I did want you to know that the doctor said that we will move my visits up to every 3 months, but for now, we are going to use the fact that I'm just in the severe range and I have no symptoms to keep going the way that I'm going! @faerywings, you are right about those portals!!!

Good morning, lovelies.

porch update - it's looking good - I'd forgotten how light the concrete was. Either that, or we've turned it white with the concrete cleaner. LOL I wish we had a power washer, but it got lost in the move and I'm not going to buy another one. Yes, Chris @faerywings my "skelly season" is totally in the back of my head! I was thinking about them yesterday - Tex and Lex are anxiously awaiting to make their debut. I'm trying to decide if I want to mess with the hay bales this year. They make such a mess - they have cute small straw bales - wrapped at Walmart. I'm just on the fence, but they're so cute. I'm definitely not getting a big "field" hay bale like I had last year. They're really the messy ones. Ava found some on a farm last year and the guy gave her several. I might just sit my skellies in the chairs. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Sorry about your friend's son not getting that internship, Chris. He'll find something. I can't wait for you to get those lids - you're going to love them! Yikes about the nightmares - they sound terrible! I had weird dreams last night but nothing like yours! Why don't you get some lavender tea from Amazon, while you're ordering and drink that before you go to bed.

I've never been so happy to see September before. This summer has been so brutally hot that I'm really looking forward to the cool down, even if it does mean winter's on it's way.

Kay, how fun that you're going to see some of your kids! Enjoy your time with them. I haven't found my fall wreath yet, it's provably up at Adrienne's. I'm either going to go up there and look or buy that one I saw at Walmart. I think we're going back there today or tomorrow.

Linda @LSlycord I missed your diagnosis! Is it your thyroid? Pardon me for missing that - I've been kind of erratic on getting back in here for the last few days. When you get a minute, can you update me???

Vicky @vickyday your evening ride to church sounds like it was lovely. Years ago, I rode as well, and my sister was thrown in the gravel and hurt very badly. I lost a lot of my enthusiasm after that. When Chuck and I got married, he had a big bike - a Kawasaki and he wrote all over the country. Sadly, I wasn't able to share his love of the open bike and he finally sold it. I really tried to embrace it, but he knew it was difficult for me. He even bought me all "the leathers" and the helmet and boots - to no avail. We got Corvettes after that. Hahaha

I'd better get going - I'm still in my jammies - well, they're not really jammies, I sleep in tights and long sleeved T-shirts. The girls tease me that I could go anywhere in my "jammies" because they look like clothes. I need to pick some more of my mint, lemon balm and sage today while it looks nice and healthy. It takes about 2 days to dehydrate the sage - the rest of the herbs take about 12 hours.

Hugs to all!

Morning ladies... More beautiful sunny skies and I think that our heat wave is finally going to end today. I am putting the finishing touches on my brother's birthday card this morning and then I have a cheesecake to make for his birthday desert. We are invited for supper on Friday night, it will just be the four of us, so should be a very nice visit with them! Perhaps a swim? We will see. Then on Saturday a trip to Costco and Sunday will be spent at the In-Laws to see what they need done around the property. SIL Linda and her man Mark will also be there, it should be fun! Perhaps a swim there?? Hopefully! I might run to Walmart this morning and see if I can find a container to pack my cheesecake in. I have a huge tupperware one, but it is way too big. I hope to get some scrapping time in this morning too. I need to get some commenting done and be a much better cheeryO this month! August was a write off for me, its time to pull up my socks!

@faerywings - Awww I am sorry that you are having such a crappy morning! Nightmares are the worst and they really mess with your head! I have been raking leaves too, but our bad neighbour behind us never waters anything and his large trees along the fence line are all dying and losing their leaves and of course they all blow into our yard grrrr!! Oh well it is what it is! I am happy that I don't have to look for poop while I am out there LOL. The appraisal went well and he was very quick, took lots of photos and then they go back to their office and write up a report for the bank. It will most likely be a few days before we hear what the amount will be. I agree with Vicky and perhaps you should take a nice long nap today! (although we all know you won't lol)

@vickyday - How fun to ride the bike to church, doing it at time when its not so hot is even better! Sounds like you had a great time with your friend, but maybe you could have let her win at least one game?? LOL.

@BrightEyes - How lovely that your DD#1 will be spending some time with you! I hope she is there for when your son arrives also! You will be enjoying catching up with everyone! Wow that plum tree of yours sure was good at producing for you this year!

@LSlycord - Oh my goodness that was no way to end August!! I will be sending you all kinds of healing good wishes Linda!! I suppose it is a good thing that you are going to be all done with work! I am hoping that the Dr. will paint a brighter picture than you are imagining right now! (((Hugs)))!!

@Amandajk - The cabin you are staying in right now sounds heavenly!! How wonderful that your DH has found out about his heritage, he must be so happy! Oh wait... is it your hubs or your DS?? You will have to let me know. Oh BTW I just adore your siggie!! where did you find that great little car??

@bcgal00 - Not hearing from you over the past few days has me worried! I sure hope that you are starting to feel better!

@LSlycord - Oh so good to hear that your Dr. wants to see you a bit more often and that you will not be having open heart surgery!! That must have been a relief to hear!

@Cherylndesigns - I am also excited to get my front porch ready for fall, but not quite yet! It is still so summery here and warm, the stores all have the huge Mum pots out and they are so lovely, but by the time it is Fall they will be done. So I will wait for the second wave of plants to come out an decorate then. My petunias are still so nice and my Coleus is just gorgeous, I just can't bring myself to get rid of them just yet. I am looking forward to bringing out all of my little fake pumpkins though. A few years back I brought home some bullrushes for porch decoration, but one of them fell over and split apart, talk about a mess!!! Never again!

Ok the boys and Heather will be calling soon, so I better grab a second cup of coffee before they do. #coffee Have a great day everyone!

Popping in here to take a break from scanning photos. The weather is beautiful here today and lunch with DH was wonderful. I got some pictures for the first day of September that I want to scrap later today so it has been a productive day so far!

@taxed4ever I chuckled at your comment, Trudy, to let my friend win some.....trust me, the tables will turn soon enough! It just happened to be my day, lol! Glad your heat wave is ending! The lower humidity has been great around here this week!

@Cherylndesigns I hear you, Cheryl. We pray every time we get on the bike! I'm trusting the Lord will keep us safe! DH had 2 bikes when we got married - an Indian (too loud for me and not a comfortable double ride) and a smaller one he rode to work. He asked me if I liked to ride and I told him I never had but was willing to try anything once! So, we hopped on the smaller bike (not a comfortable double ride, either) and took off. The faster he went, the tighter I held on to him, but I have a need for speed, lol, so I really enjoyed it! We went out several more times before going to the bike shop to get all the leathers.....boots, jacket, gloves, and helmet. Plus the rain gear. Plus the thermal gear! Can you say.....money?! ;) Usually if we are going on long trips we wear all of the gear. But for short treks around here, like to supper or church, we don't put on all of the gear. It wasn't long before Mark started checking into Goldwings so I could ride more comfortably. We found a good deal and I actually bought it with some of the insurance monies I got when my first husband died! We've had a lot of fun on it! But, probably if we were ever in a serious accident like your sister I would change my mind! Even though it took her a year to recover, I hope she is OK with no lasting effects from it! We have turned the Goldwing over a couple of times when we first got it. It is a monstrous, heavy machine! And I agree with you regarding the weather! It has been so stinking hot here this summer that I'm longing for the fall.....even though winter follows!

@LSlycord Thanking the Lord for answered prayer, Linda, with regard to the surgery not happening.....at least for a while! Can they treat your problems with medicine? Glad they are going to keep a close eye on it! Prayers and hugs!

@BrightEyes You are one busy lady, Kay! Do you make preserves out of the plums? So glad you get to spend time with your children. Do they live close to you? I only have one daughter who lives in the same state as me (child #3). Even though she only lives 20 minutes away from me we hardly see one another since her kids are in sports and she is a teacher's aid at the Christian school they attend, which is 45 minutes away. My oldest daughter (child #1) lives 6.5 hours away. My oldest son (child #2) lives 8 hours away. My youngest son (child #4) lives 4.5 hours away. I rarely ever see him. He usually doesn't even come to our gatherings at Memorial Day or Christmas! It is what it is, I guess!

OK, enough of a break from the scanning......back to it for me!

I don't blame you for not wanting to bring live plants yet. Trudy. I have perennial mums that are JUST starting to bloom and they're huge this year. I'm not getting rid of any of my summer plants yet, either. They're still so beautiful and I don't cut any of my perennials down until the bitter end. LOL We still have a lot of warmth coming here, too. Last year, December and January were very mild - we got socked in Feb. The main reason I've been cleaning my porch is that it really needed it. LOL My coleus is gorgeous, too and my hanging ferns are still lush.. I really think my "fall fever" comes from living in Florida for so many years. I always missed fall the most of all the seasons.

Look at me...I'm back just like I said. Who would have dreamed it?

@faerywings I am so sorry about your nephew...and for all the kids coming out now trying to find jobs in their fields. Has Cait gotten any feelers on any upcoming jobs?

@vickyday sounds like you had a really good day yesterday. And, yes, I am quite thankful for the answer to this prayer. I have my head wrapped around the fact that I will need the surgery eventually because meds can't do anything about a valve that is failing. But I don't mind putting it off for just a bit (or more) longer! @Cherylndesigns I was diagnosed with a bad aortic valve. It is bicuspid which means I have had it since birth but only in the last two years was I aware of it. Anyway, because I am young (hold the laughter), they will probably have me do either a mechanical valve or a bovine valve...and either one will require open heart surgery. There is a less invasive method but it doesn't last very long on bicuspids...so I guess we will just keep waiting. And I'm good with that.

Mums are some of my favorite flowers in the world. We used to have huge fall mums...loved them. Love the leaves turning...and I am so excited to be heading north the last half of this month. I may actually know that it's fall this year. So, all in all, I guess that it's ok that you let the pages turn to September Chris.

@BrightEyes I love the fact that you are getting so much company! What a good time you will have!

@Amandajk I'm sure that you are a very big help to your kids. And the time away in the cabin sounds awesome.

Ok...got to get my updates made for my Cheery-O stuff. Then I might even scrap a bit!
