Woo hoo, getting closer to the weekend! :croc:

How is everyone today? I am actually not too tired ATM. Could it be the 2 huge mugs of coffee? Perhaps..... I did sleep pretty well last night. Now I just have to maintain the energy to get me through the day.

Other than cleaning/working, I have a relatively quiet day, so that is good. I have some stupid scrap stuff to work on. My Acdsee is running so freaking slowly, its making me want to throw the whole computer out the window. I switched over to Windows Live Photo Gallery. Its OK, it is going to take some adjusting. And it stinks that I lost all of my tags/authors etc. OTOH- it is nice to see all of my scrap stuff that I had forgotten about.

I want to go and buy everything in the Oscraps shop! Just so I can drool over all of the yummy stuff in there while I tag my old stuff too.:love:

Laurie- good Morning! I had read a theory about why time seems so much faster as we get older. Something about the percentage of a period of time being relative to the entirety of the life time. For ex. the 2 months of a 10 yo kid's life for being home for summer is a greater percentage of that lifetime vs the 2 months of summer I experience of my kids being home for the summer.
Did that make any sense?

Eva- I hear ya on wanting to go back to the stone ageon occasion. My big thing right now is with TV remotes. MMG keeps reprogramming the remotes. We have a basket of them for the TV/DVD/Cable box etc, plus a few universal remotes. :doh:
Why can't we just have one remote???? The same one- turns TV on, turns TV off. gahh!!
I hope that you were able to get everything taken care of and didn't have any malicious activity by the hacker. :(

MOrning Chris- I am trying to wake up- only on cup # 1. I have to run into town to do errands, see one kiddo that I won't see on Friday- and we have dance tonight. I am heading to the basement to paint the doors, frames and two tiny windows in my craft area. Hoping they all look amazing by the end of the morning so I can get them hung. Then only two doors left!
 
Morning ladies! I'm trying to wake up, but I'm dragging....so much for getting up early and getting caught up on the boards.

I did a trial run on my halloween makeup last night....it looks like crap! It doesn't look like the model example at all. Of course it doesn't help that I have eyelids that are starting to droop and bags under my eyes from lack of sleep......maybe I should have been a witch instead.....anywho, I decided not to go to elebrate on the makeup, tone it down some. It won't look the same but I think I'll be happier with it.

i'm actually having a cup of coffee this morning! decaf. i rarely have coffee. dunno why. i LIKE coffee! breakfast is the worst meal of the day for me. i HAVE to eat as soon as i wake up because of The Big D (diabetes. i control it with diet.) i don't like breakfast to begin with, and not being able to eat anything FAST like any sort of cereal makes figuring out what to eat a real PITA! so. coffee. low-carb bread (read "sawdust." i cut the crust off, like a 4-year-old. the crust of this bread is BAAAAAD...)) and some chunky peanut butter. then on with my day.

Chris: i once had a discussion with people on another site about the WHY of tagging and organization programs. I have all my stuff in folders like "DIGI SCRAP ELEMENTS HEARTS STARS FLOWERS." it doesn't take any time at all or any confusing programs. i guess it depends how your brain works. mine is VERY analog. i think in terms of folders. and i can always fnd my stuff. i'm starting to think that all this technology and software that's supposed to SAVE us time just EATS it!

Laurie, you should post photos when you're done painting your space!

Frani, i think we posted at the same time! i admire your Halloween Spirit. i don't think i've bothered with Halloween since i was a teacher. back in the '70s. i've never lived anywhere that Halloweeners come. (Street out-of-the-way.) i used to go out with my kids and leave a giant bowl of candy on my porch. when we came home, all the candy was still there. my kids and husband enjoyed this fact immensely....

i think i'm going to have a big "DECLUTTER" today. what do you guys do with all the PAPERS that you have to keep? i find that if i put it all "away" i forget about it. so, i end up putting the stuff on my side of the kitchen counter, and it's chaos.

I will post pics- I am going to do this months challenge with a montage of flooding day to present! Should be quite the transformation- since we lost brown shag carpet, brown paneling and a bar!

Enjoying this thread and what all are up to. I can't believe it is October 27.......how did that happen? Watching the neighbor's 3-year-old little guy this morning. He's a cutie!

Laurie...how could you part with that brown shag carpeting!?!?! so very very retro these days! (Trust me - I'd have it out in a heartbeat myself!)

No gym today. I had a nice sleep in til 07:30. Just the thing to do on a rainy day. Yep, there are whispers of snow flurries this weekend. Fine with me...flurry away. As far as i know, I have nothing I have to do.

Today? I waited for the bi-weekly cleaning ladies to come, so as soon as I DID get up it was pick up the last bit of clutter downstairs. That's all they do other than his bathroom. Usually I do get this done Weds but it didn't happen yesterday. We did go out to dinner with friends and that got me behind.

Now I have to drive across the Bay, the Chesapeake Bay, to the outlets there. I got Dick a LLBean coat which didn't work out. It was a bit snug, and darn the zipper isn't right. At $99 it was worth trying out and they have a no time limit return policy. While at the outlets, I am ...ugh...going bra shopping. Somehow two of my few bras had the underwire pop through. Nothing like being away on a trip and you have wire trying to burrow into your chest! So I've got a good t-shirt on to test the smoothness of various models. I had thought of going to Nordstroms to be actually fitted but the cost of their products is more than I wanted to spend. kwim?

So my morning is just going to be a thrill a minute! back to you when I recross the big waters.
 
back again- was painting, heard the washer stop, rebooted the laundry- saw there was a phone message- umm credit card fraud division- grrrr- happy that they are on top of it, sad that we were victims of it- new cards coming- charges taken off, but makes me wonder in this year of adversity if there is not more to come- notified my ins co as we have fraud protections through them as well. Life- gotta live it. Back to put my frustrations into a paint brush.
 
Morning ladies!! Dark, gloomy and only 3 degrees Celsius this morning, which is 37 F. for those of you not living the metric life. (wish we weren't!!) feels like :smow: Opps did I say the "S" word out loud??? Off to work soon, but wanted to pop in here to say hi.

Chris - Glad you are feeling chipper this morning! nothing like a good nights sleep to make you feel human again!! My house was the same with remotes, but hubby got a wonderful universal one that we use all the time...love it!

Laurie - another busy day of painting and running around for you today, you make me tired!!

Frani - It is so hard to get out of bed on dark and cold mornings isn't it!!! I drag my butt around here too. Just not much of a morning person I guess. Hope you get your Halloween makeup just the way you want!!

Phylis - I'm with you on the folders thing!! Don't think I could do it any other way, but I still have some difficulty finding certain things. I might have to rethink how I do my elements!

Donna - glad you are enjoying this site so much!! We love having you here! Have fun with your little one today!

Maureen - I went bra shopping the other day, uggg I hate it! But we have to keep the girls happy! Ouch on the underwire poking you! How nice that you got to sleep in today! Enjoy your day across the water!!

Chris - Eeek!! I can't believe your tags didn't transfer over! I thought ACDsee embedded the tags in the metadata! I can't imagine re-tagging all the stuff you have!!! Good luck!

Phylis - Ever since I married my husband, I haven't had to worry about all those papers that clutter! His OCD is very anti stray papers... so I make sure all the important stuff like bills stay electronic, everything else is game for him to throw in the recycle bin! I hope your decluttering goes well today :)

Donna - October flew by!!! I hope the neighbor boy behaves for you :)

Maureen - Ugh bra shopping is the worst!! At least it is for me... I usually have to special order. I wish you the best of luck and a painless bra shopping experience!!! Oh and I'll have the granola recipe for you soon... I'll post it on my blog :)

Woohoo! got personals done, I hope I didn't miss anyone!

Today I'm going to try and get lots of work done, I'm finally back in my groove and making progress. It's really tempting to not spend the day baking cookies though... I have a new three tier cooling rack that's just begging to be used!

Jeff's doing better... after lots of pep talks, yummy food, and other feel better stuff... he's not as upset as he was yesterday. It was really hard for me to not take my cast iron skillet and have myself take care of the problem person he was having to deal with!!! Clara, you and Addie never should of gotten me addicted to Tangled... I can just see the headlines, "Valley woman clobbers someone with a frying pan."

Ok... I better sign off... Jeff should be home any moment now!
 
blah exhausted just popping in to say HEY! had to work today....then i ran errands...with all 3 kids home mind you....tiring day blah
