Gah!! I am late! I had issues with the coffee pot this morning. Not sure what happened, but the filter must not have been sitting in properly and it all leaked out onto my counter. NOT the way you want to wake up. Nope nope nope! There was some left in the pot, but I am guessing that by the time I get to the bottom of this cup, its going to be full of grinds.

So my friends, how is everyone today? I am having such a bad head-disorganizational week. Yesterday when I went food shopping, I started unloading y cart and had to laugh. I told the cashier that I didn't even remember putting much of that stuff in there. And n o-- there wasn't anything super-fun either, The house is a mess (still) and I really don't seem to care.

Bah humbug, blergh and bother!:kev:

Let me wrap this up, and get onto the next project before I take the kids to school. I have to make sure I get the car warmed up earlier today, I had no idea it was as cold as it was yesterday and the windshield was covered in thick frost, Makes it hard to drive ;)

love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for this, Chris:
I had issues with the coffee pot this morning.
that was my first laugh-out-loud of the day. it just struck me funny, for some reason.

i know what you mean about not really caring about the house. no one ever comes here except me and Hubby and the FedEx guy and the mail man. some days i just think: why bother?? my poor mom always said that she couldn't believe her 3 daughters turned out like they did, in terms of housecleaning. you could eat off of our BASEMENT floor in my childhood home. Sophie was a CLEANER!! she was a stay-at-home all her life. i once asked her what her dream job would be, and i couldn't believe her answer. she said she would just LOVE to be a maid in a hotel and just clean rooms all day. snort. not MEEEEE!

gonna go have a lesson on how to use my new, shiny Ruger. it looks like a Roy Rogers gun. the thing scares the h$## out of me, but with the coming of the Zombie Apocalypse, :behindsofa: i thought it might be a good idea to have one locked up at home. my husband was NOT for it, but who listens to him? :becky: i bought a Groupon for a firing range and lessons. my older sister is coming with me. i pity the poor instructor. he has NO idea what clueless chicks he's getting. this should be REALLY different, to say the least.

since i have to drive a long way to get to where i'm going today, there's not going to be much time left for anything else. happily i have leftovers from yesterday for dinner tonight. boy, did i ever make a GOOD roast yesterday! sirloin tip and soup and wine and YUM!

have a happy Thursday! prepare for the worst, expect the best.

Phylis- you will have to let me know how you like the Ruger- MMG would like me to have a handgun- I am thinking going to the range with another girl would be fun- did you buy pink camo??? If so I want to see the picture. Laundry beeped- sweaty and need to shower and eat and head out the door but had to see what the O chickies were up to while I was moving and grooving!

Morning! 7AM and I am ready to leave and head home.

Meeting with the bosses lasted until 9:45 last night. Then I stayed up late with the one that is like my little brother catching up on things. He is thinking of buying a new house so we had to discuss pros and cons.

Have an Emmaus gathering to go to tonight. Looking forward to seeing friends, food , and fellowship. Probably no scrapping tonight.

Phyllis-have fun at the range. Don't shoot anyone. I need to get out to the range myself.

Sad thing happened in our community a couple of weeks ago. A prominent guy, 54years old was murdered on his property. Shot in the head as he was getting out of his truck to open the gate. He lived in the country. Well, breaking news yesterday revealed the guys sister's husband gave admissible evidence that he killed him. Right after that he took his own life. Sad time for that girl-lose her brother and hubby in two weeks.

Well-need to get in gear and head back home. Should be there in a couple hours.

yup, Terry. guns can be nasty. so, apparently, can BILs. that is an awful story. my husband just called me from his office and read the law to me about "transporting" a gun in the car, to make sure i don't do anything wrong. i told him not to worry. the thing has NEVER been loaded or even out of the case. and i'm putting it in the trunk. and i'm taking a copy of my Groupon to show (the officer, who may or may not pull me over en route...)where i was going with The Thing.

Laurie, i think The Thing is going to knock me on my rear when i fire it. it might look like Roy Roger's gun, but it probably packs a wallop. (eeeep! this is freaking me OUT!) i doubt there will be any photos of this event. i'll be too busy paying attention and being scared. :eek2: maybe i'll buy a gun safe today after the lesson, then lock it up in there and hope i never see it again.

Well hello there everybody!

It's THURSDAY. Holy moly. The days are just speeding by me in a blur and I can't keep up. So much stuff is going on around ye olde homestead. Trying to put together a grab bag for iNSD, or is it iNDSD? I get confused. LOL But yeah, I'm trying to make some fun stuff for the shop, trying to get my shop loaded, and also trying to get school work done. Finals are next week, and for my design class we have to do a heeeyooge project where we create a logo, banner ads, and a presentation for a fictional client. Guess who hasn't started yet. Yep, this chickie right here. Oh well. No time like the present, right?

I've decided that I need to start eating well again. I was doing super well during my pregnancy with Walt and for a pretty good while afterward, but for the last 6 months or so, since I started having my lady bid'ness problems, I've fallen off again. But you know what, that doesn't make any sense. When you have health issues, that's when you should be eating BETTER. I've been doing pretty well the last couple days, and I do feel a bit better, so hooray!

We're having a bit of trouble with our sweet Genny. A scant few weeks ago, she was doing so well in the regular full day Kindergarten class and with ABA after school that the special ed teacher was talking about taking her out of special ed entirely. Then she started grimacing all the time. You know what that is? It's when autistic kids make a funny face, just like the name sounds. She's doing it really frequently, and even when she doesn't she's still holding her mouth funny, so it almost never goes away. And she's started touching the other kids in class. She's not hitting them, or doing anything creepy, just kind of touching them on the face or whatever. Anyway, that's not allowed.. so looks like we have that problem to figure out.

Anyway, I'm trying to keep my spirits up and my head in the right place, because if I let myself get unhappy then nobody in the house is going to be happy. LOL. I'm going to read what everybody's been doing the last couple of days.

Morning all you pistol packn Momma's!! Sorry but I don't understand the American mentality for everyone owning a gun?? I know you probably feel safer having one around, but .... Oh I'd better shut up or I'll open a whole can of worms :tape: LOL no offence to my USA sisters I love ya all!!

Chris - I hate when that happens to the coffee pot!! Yuck, no fun to clean that up when you are still half asleep!! All you want is coffee, not grounds!! Don't worry about your house, all that cleaning will still be there and maybe, just maybe you can convince the other members of your household to give you a hand cleaning?? Who says it has to be just your job to clean the house?? I've never seen a contract for that have you?

Laurie - a busy, busy day for your day off!! Have fun getting all those errands done! Highlights will perk you up, I love getting my hair done!! Love your Pink Camo comment!!

Phylis - For goodness sake be careful shooting that gun! MG took me to the range once, because I used to go hunting with him in our much younger days and he thought I should learn how to shoot his 30-30 rifle. Well I had a bruise on my shoulder for about a week afterwards, scared the s@%t out of me!!!! Have fun with your sister at the range! Your supper last night sounds very yummy!! Nothing like a good roast!! Thanks for your lovely comment on my layout about my MG and DD! They really are best of friends and call each other often. He misses her terribly!!

Terry - Drive safe! What a sad story about that shooting!! The poor woman! Left without a brother and a husband!

My sister's car is a dream to drive! Such a well built vehicle, but too small for my liking, poor hubby can hardly stand being in it, he's claustrophobic and so I guess he won't be driving it much, he says he'll stick to his big truck lol. Even my sister says her next vehicle will be an SUV, not very eco friendly are we?? I really like being up high on the road and small cars are just to low to the ground for me. Anyway, better get ready for the work day, a full day for me so won't be home until after 6. Stew is in the crockpot, Biscuits are ready to go in the oven when I get home YUMMMM!! Have a great day everyone

well, i just got back from my shooting lesson, and you'll be pleased to know, as i was, that no one got hurt. we had a merry little retired Marine who was very patient and good-natured.

Laurie, he started us out on one of their Smith and Wesson semi-automatic small ones. it was really easy to use. it struck me as TOO easy to pull the trigger. then he let us try our own guns. BIG difference. i didn't exactly land on my butt, but there is a definite kick. and you have to INTEND to pull the trigger, which is better, i think.

Trudy, i totally get your puzzlement. my husband is not for this at all. well, now i can lock it up and forget about it. your husband was RCMP, right? did he have to have one at home? how does that work in Canada. i think the police here have their guns with them always, even at home.

if you want to understand my road to purchasing a gun, there was a show i watched on The History Channel, one of the History Specials, that got me thinking. i think it was called " After Armageddon." if you possibly can, you should buy it on ITunes and watch it. very unsettling. and too possible. It's about a global pandemic and what happens to society i almost no time.

and on THAT happy note, i'm off to find a snack!

my excuse for owning a gun---hey! I live in Texas!
Doesn't everyone in Texas have a gun? Seriously--I got a gun for protection from critters in the country---rattle snakes, coral snakes, wild pigs, coyote and stuff like that. Only had to use it once--it was either get bit by the rattle snake staring me down or kill that sucker. Pulled out my gun, shot the head right off. My son was little at the time and called me Annie Oakley!! That's me pistol packing mama.

We also went hunting for deer, turkey, pigs, and birds. I couldn't kill the deer though--they are way too cute.
