gooooOd morning! How are all of you today?
I am pretty good so far. Having coffee, getting ready for drs appt's #4-5 today, then working this afternoon. Should be a busy but good day.
Yesterday's drs appt was kind of comical. This is a new GP I am seeing and he was concerned about my blood work. The nurse I spoke to last week said that my cholesterol was high, but apparently that was not what was bothering him. My chol. was slightly raised- omega-3 or flax seed to be added as supplements- but it was my Inflammatory Markers that were all wacked out. Chronic illness results in a crazy immune system which results in inflammation. Poor doc- he looked so concerned. Its actually a very, very good sign. It means that my immune system is coming back from the dead. Lyme bacteria can go "undercover" and hide. The immune system is then unable to recognize it as a foreign substance and doesn't react to it which then allows the bacteria to grow and replicate freely. This is one huge reason that blood work in late stage lyme is inaccurate b/c it is testing for antibodies made my your immune system. No immune system, no antibodies, negative blood work = untreated Lyme.
Bottom line, if you made it through all of that blabber- my blood work is showing that my immune system is starting to work again is is able to start fighting illness. That's really good news!
So that's the scoop on my life LOL
Temptation on Thursday- its rainy and dreary, so i would love to stay in my pj's, under a blanket with my book, Discovery of Witches.
What about you?
