Happy Thursday my deari-o's! How are all of you on this fine albeit it windy and cold morning in NJ? The sun is going to come out today-- finally after several days of clouds and rain. But it going to be staying cold and we even have frost warnings. I still have tomatoes ripening on the vines, I hope they make it.

Yesterday I was Faery Homemaker. I made apple pie with crust from scratch. I was disappointed, i tried a new recipe and it was not even close to as good a crust as the one I usually make. Best pie crust ever-- Martha Stewart's. Super flaky and butttery. If anyone is interested, I can post the recipe.
I also made homemade broccoli cheddar soup for dinner with biscuits (Pillsbury, not home made, but oh well, they were still good LOL). Yum yum!!

I also got great news from the school re: Scott- Mid term Progress reports came out and he got 1 C, 3 B's and 3 A's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess the Lyme is not affecting his cognition as bad either. I am thrilled for him- he must have been feeling good about it too, b/c he took a picture of it with his cell and texted it to my in the morning. :D
For those who might not know, Scott has had a horrible time in school - the Lyme affected his memory, organizational skills and attention ad well as all of the physical stuff, so this news is just amazing!!

I better get going, I have stuff to do around the house before I get the kids to the bus.

Love you all!!!

lOve the O!
morning O fam- off to the dr's for my 6 mos checkup! I am looking forward to it, surely my weight will be the same or higher, but I know it is on the way down and that I have exercised every day for 3.5 weeks! I then get errands run and come home. Tonight we have a dance lesson to practice our routine for Sat and I will wear my gown for the final run through- sweet! A second workout for the day- that dress weighs 5 pounds or more between the sequins and the hoop in the bottom! I have a list in front of me and must leave in an hour so latter O-peeps! BTW Chris great news for Scott's midterm!

Great news about Scott Chris! I know you must be proud---such an accomplishment.

Well--I have ICE!! Yes! Only took almost a week to get it all together.

Busy day today. Wrok a little. Go walking at 9AM. work more. need to pack up my motorhome. Webinar at 12. work a little more. Leave at 4 for the coast.

I'll be driving the motorhome down and Craig will be meeting me at the RV park. He has an oncology appointment in the city this afternoon. It's crazy for him to drive all the way back here and then drive to the coast. I hope he gets to the RV park before me. I'm chicken when it comes to parking the thing.

We are both golfing in a benefit for the Homeless shelter on Friday.

Hope you have a great Thursday!

We've all had the cruds here at the Boyer household. Well, not my husband, so I should count my blessings, because when the man of the house is sick, everybody feels it. Am I right, ladies???

My parents were here last week, and when my mom left, she was sick. Now she has pneumonia. She's going in every day for shots, and if she doesn't improve, they are going to admit her to the hospital. Yesterday morning, Walt woke up with the worst gasping breathing I've ever heard. Vince rushed him to the ER, and he was diagnosed with Croup. The good news is, they gave him an Epinephrine mist and some steroids, and he perked right up. He's still sick, mind you, complaining that his head hurts, and with the gnarly poopies, but that horrible rasping breath is gone.

Both girls have runny noses and a bit of a cough, but not so much that they've had to stay home. And I have had a runny nose and HEADACHES. Haven't wanted to look at the screen or type much. Well, playing games doesn't seem to bother me, but READING has really hurt my eyes. Not fun since I have school projects to do dontcha know!

Hey I have a question and tell me the truth. Is it distracting for me to pop in here in the dailies a couple of times a week only? Is it better to post here daily or not at all than to just pop in sometimes? I don't want to be annoying.

Well, I'm pretty good at being annoying. :p LOL Maybe I should cultivate it and see if I can make a living of it.

Good Morning my favourite peeps!! Happy Day, one last day of work this week, then I have the next three off. Manager at work talked to me before heading home last night and said that he was giving some more 4hr shifts, he is trying to accommodate my wishes for less time at work, so hopefully he sticks to his word Hooray!! (I'll believe it when I see it!) :mmph:

Phylis - Enjoy your chat session!! I have not had one for awhile either, everyone is so busy with their lives and work, I really could use a good sit down bit@$ session!! Want to come over for a glass of whine??? I mean wine?? LOL Hope your day is filled with laughter!!

Terry - You are a brave woman driving with that motor home! I would be a bit nervous doing that! But you gotta do what you gotta do. Be careful please!! Good luck with your golf tournament!!

Andrea - Why would you think that you are annoying us??? We love to hear from you and please do not feel like you have to post here everyday!! Post when you like and when you can. There is nothing mandatory here, we are happy that you can join us whenever!!
Sure hope everyone gets over there sickness in your house!! Sending healing thoughts your way! Hope you get your homework done, although games sound more fun! :becky:

Hi ev-ry-body! *said in Dr. Nick voice*
th

I have a few minutes between housework and deleting a gazillion old emails (would you believe that "gazillion" and "bazillion" are both options in my Spell Check??? :pound: ) and work, sO I thought I would come by and say hi!!!

I need help! My ear drum is squishing again! My right ear always feels somewhat clogged and sore and numb-ish, but the doctors never ever see anything wrong with it, just I pretty much jest ignore it. But today and yesterday its really bothering me. I think it just might be from my allergies acting up or perhaps fighting the cold that the kids have but either way I want it to stoooooopppppppppp!!!!
Any cool tips on how to do that? Any OTC drops that help?
It sounds awful and cheap, but I can't see paying $25 to go the dr and have him tell me there is nothing wrong with it.

Well. I sure didn't mean to come in and start whining but it looks like I did just that. Sorry!

lauire- good luck with the appt!! You are not just a number on a scale so don't let that dr judge you by that. It sounds like you are way healthier than many of us!

Phyllis- I will def. post that recipe for ya! Hope you aren;t scared of a lot of butter! But it is sooo worth it!LOL

Terry -- what is ICE? I know it can't be frozen water in your neck of the woods. (Did you see Jen's FB post that she had snow yesterday! :hurt: ).
Have a great weekend!! So happy for you!
And oncology? Is everything OK???

Oh Andrea-- yes- be thankful for small favors of not having Vince sick too. A week or so ago, Heather came in to say that her hubby had a MAN cold and you could heard the moans of symapthy for her!!
Hope that you all feel better asap and that Wally is breathing better- how scary for all of you :(
Ok and yeah-- I am gonna vote for you getting your butt in here *every* day, but that's just cuz I like you :D
Seriously- pop in whenever you can, no worries either way!

Trudy- I'd love some whine too!
I didn't cry but wow, I was so proud, to the point that I wanted to put the report on my fridge and show it off. I don't think he'd be too happy with me if I did that tho. ;)
Awesome awesome news about the boss *finally* getting the hint about your hours. *fingers crossed that he sticks to it!*

Love to all!

Chris...my ear does that sometimes too...it got so bad at one time I went to the ENT..he said it was sinus..and you need to take some decongestant...I use Mucinex...it clears it up really well. If you have bad allergies and take zyrtec all through the allergy season, that will prevent it.

One thing NOT to do to your ears is to use one of those nasal sprays, like Afrin. I mean, obviously don't put it in your ear. LOL. But one year, I had just the worst congestion, and I couldn't breathe at night so I would use Afrin, and it helped. But then after a few weeks of using it, I all of a sudden couldn't hear out of one ear. I went to the doc and she said that what had happened was rebound congestion. The nasal spray had caused a rebound swelling throughout my sinuses, which had then caused my ear to close up. Also, I had developed a horrible sinus infection by masking my symptoms with the nasal spray.

Just one person's story! LOL

So dr appt went well, weight was up, but told dr what I have been doing and she was fine with it. No med changes- yeah- we talked about the cancer in my immediate family= brothers, sisters, mother, father and how all I can do is take care of myself- you can't change genetics- besides I told her- I have cancer insurance- she responded with a smile and said you may die poor without cancer or have money and die from cancer- well something like that- made me laugh- I do like my doctor cause she is no nonsense and listens when I talk. Let hope she stays in the area!

Terry, glad to hear that your husband is carrying on and doing well. he really is on the go and active, which must be a good thing!

Chris, i have that in my ear sometimes, too. it's from congestion. try to keep the allergies under control. that's about it, i think. that's what the ENT guy told me.

Laurie, glad that the dr. apt. went well. isn't it great to have a really GOOD doctor who LISTENS??

Nana, you doing OK?

Andrea, it is GREAT that you stop by here. please DON'T STOP!!
