The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Happy October!!! It is a good morning to flip my calendar, at least the one in my office. My Livvie is the "model" this month in the Rat Rescue calendar. She is snuggled next to a small stuffed bat.
(I also got some very good news from friend re: her health so I am in an extra positive mood.)

The one bad thing about it being October is that other than the few props Gary has outside, we have no Halloween decorations down yet. Only the ones that stay year-round LOL Normally, we decorate before our September Bash, since Caitlyn has to share her birthday party with 5 other people, we always let her choose the theme, which is Spooky- every year. No September Bash this year and I haven't been able to get into the attic on my own. No spooky decorations. :(

I was BORED yesterday. I had it in my head that I was going to take it easy but my goodness it is bor-ing. I did get quite a bit of tagging done and I finished reading The New Jim Crow. That was pretty dense and it will get "recalled" on the 3rd so I had no choice to plug on. I don't understand why it seems harder for my brain to comprehend when reading on a screen. It makes no sense other than maybe physically holding a book and flipping pages has stronger connections to whatever part of the brain connects that?
We watched "13th" last night, Cait had it as an assignment. It is about how written into the 13th amendment, slavery was unconstitutional -unless it was for punishment. It then followed the lines of the ratification of it to the mass incarceration/permanent loss of rights of those formerly incarcerated of today. Straight lines, only some are more hidden than others. It followed exactly what I had been reading in The New Jim Crow.

I need to stay put again today. I was feeling quite good yesterday until I got out of the shower and rotated my hip just a smidge in the wrong direction. pfft. The muscle still feels a bit twingy today so yup. Staying put. PFFTTTTTT.

Gratitudes:
-good news from my friend yesterday
-Caitlyn's Etsy shop is doing great, and she is happy that she can do hand-sewing during some of her lectures.
-my mom's appt with the nephrologist yesterday was good- kidneys are much better since the stents were put in

Trudy- Were you able to go on the hike? Scott and I had tentative plans to go on Friday but no way can I do that. :( Sorry that the smoke is back, I hope that it clears out quickly.
hahaha! Bad little ghost, messing up your oven. I am relieved that it wasn't anything more than maybe a fuse, hopefully not the control panel. Thank goodness for warranties!
Good for Hunter!! he is such a cute, must have broke everyone's heart when he cried.

Cheryl- I just read that the Debate Commission (? on name?) is changing the rules for the next debate. Thank goodness. Caitlyn asked me if I wanted to watch it with her - she wants to view it from a psychologist's viewpoint this time around. I might need the whisky in a cereal bowl if I do.
Love the new counter/fixtures!
I was reading the captions - but didn't see one for the dock. Do you have access to the river from your property? The pics are so gorgeous, esp the sunset.

Hugs to everyone!

Morning ladies... Yesterday it cleared up and the fog lifted for my hike! Hooray!! However there still was the smoky haze. It was higher up so it didn't bother anyone, it kept the temps down a bit too. Today is the same, foggy for a bit and now it clearing, but still the smoke :mmph: The other day my DH came home with a gift card to a great restaurant nearby. Some of his work mates got together and gave him this gift card, because he is always helping them out and staying late at work to do so. They felt bad for keeping him away from home and from me. How nice is that?? So tonight we are going out for dinner to the "Farm Table Inn". It is prime rib night, so we are very excited to go!! Here is a link about the Restaurant and B&B. The food is to die for!! https://www.farmtableinn.ca/
Our hike was lovely and a new one for all of us. More of a nice long walk through the woods with a few ups and downs. It ended up being over 6 kms so that was good, although we all felt like we could of done more. Hard to find good hikes where we can still be socially distant, so we take what we can get!

Chris - I am so happy to hear that you are feeling a bit more positive today and that your friend had good news about her health! So cute to have Livvie as your calendar girl LOL. Hope that you can soon move around without throwing something out of wack!! Talked with Heather and Hunter this morning and he sounds like he is getting a cold, so he might not be able to attend school next week. Hope that is all that it is!! He still doesn't really enjoy going to Pre-School yet, he never ate a thing all day yesterday, but that might be because he is getting a cold :noidea: He hasn't had much of an appetite latley, they do take the kids temp everyday before they are allowed into the building, keeping my fingers crossed that he will start to have more fun at Pre-school soon. I truly believe that school will not last much longer, can't see it continuing until Christmas. Too many new cases in Ontario and Quebec is even worse. :mmph:

Ok I best get in the shower and then get my morning chores done. I have lots to catch up on here at the O today too. Have a great Thursday everyone!
