Man, it got cold here yesterday! It is 27* here right now. I started Scott's car for him since he has to leave early today and I didn't want him rushing out without being able to see with all of the windows frosted over. One thing I am going to miss this winter with my VUE is the remote start. I loved that. Thankfully, I don't have to leave at 6.40 to take Cait to the bus stop every morning anymore. I couldn't figure out how to get his defrosters going so I turned the seat and heat and fan all to high and he can do the rest. :)

I got two different body butters made yesterday, a green tea butter and my "infamous" coffee butter scrub. As soon as Cait walked in from school, she said how good the house smelled. *happy sigh*
Speaking of my ridiculous daughter, she emailed me a short play that she wrote for her Lit class saying that she might get it published. Now-- her Prof already told her that she should start getting some of her work published so naturally thought, Of course!

I sit down to read in all seriousness and then this is what I get:
A Rat of Many Names
Characters:
Muffin- a hefty, happy, friendly rat. Clover’s sister.
Clover- a sneaky, more intelligent, friendly rat. Muffin’s sister.
Caitlyn- a bizarre human girl. Muffin and Clover’s adopted mother.
(speaking to audience)
MUFFIN: I am a rat of many names. Muffaloo. Muffalo. Muffles. Funny Muffler. Mifflin. Mooble. Meefin. Muffleuffin. Muffleuphagus. Mu-
CLOVER: What are you doing?
MUFFIN: *embarrassed* oh I’m, uh, I’m just- nothing.
CLOVER: Who are you talking to?
MUFFIN: Uh, no one. There’s nobody here.
CLOVER: I see that. But you were going on about something. What was it?
MUFFIN: Oh, I was just pretending. \
CLOVER: Pretending what?
MUFFIN: That I was in a play. I don’t know why.
CLOVER: What?
MUFFIN: I told you, I don’t know why. I just have this strange sort of feeling.
CLOVER: What kind of feeling?
MUFFIN: It’s hard to explain. And it sounds crazy.
CLOVER: I already know you’re crazy. Just tell me!
MUFFIN: I just have this weird feeling that… somewhere… somewhere far away… Caitlyn is doing something weird.
CLOVER: What kind of weird? Is she in trouble?
MUFFIN: No. Like the kind of weird where she… well, it feels like she may be writing a play about us.
CLOVER: Why the heck would she do that?
MUFFIN: I don’t know! Maybe it’s for one of her classes. Or maybe she’s just bored. But I can feel it in my itty bitty little heart that she’s making us into characters in some weird play she’s writing.

And it goes on... and ends...
CLOVER: I can tell she’s running out of time too. It’s a good thing she’s so charming or else she’d probably fail this assignment!
MUFFIN: No, it’s a good thing that her professor isn’t grading this! She’s not very charming and this play definitely isn’t very good.
CLOVER: You’re right. She only has a few minutes left so let’s wrap this bad boy up!
MUFFIN AND CLOVER IN UNISON: That’s all folks!
(Curtain closes. End scene.)

So-- is my girl bonkers or what??

The highlight of my day.

I am not feeling so great today, maybe just way overtired. Mostly, my brain is set to "100% Sluggish." heh!
I have to get some things organized here, finish putting Halloween things away, clean for my neighbor, make cards for my dad and my SIL's birthday party tomorrow. Annnnd... I have to blow dry my hair straight or else it will be a frizzy mess for the party. That in itself is a chore and makes me want to cut it all off.

Even though it is really cold, the sun is out so that should make it a bit more cheery.
Happy thoughts for all of you!

Nancy- I hope that you were bundled up this morning on your walk with Luther. And it is going to get even colder Fri-Mon! Brr.
That stinks about the loss, but very very cool about the seats! I would have been in a panic too when the Sec. Guards approached. How did the photos come out?
So true about how even EU History focuses on the Western areas such as UK and France. And no, I really struggle since the only bits we learned on non-Western Europe was mostly Soviet/Eastern Bloc and so many new countries have formed since I was in College.

Trudy- that is astounding that you have so much snow in the mountains already that the hike had to be canceled.
I HATE YOU!!!!! No, I really don't. I love you, but Christmas presents ready to be wrapped? :faint2:
I know that you have to get them ready to be shipped so I can understand, but I can barely think about gifts.
Did you have any better luck scrapping yesterday?

Rae- great news about feeling that you got so much done-- wish I had that ;) We love B-fast for Dinner here too. How nice for you to feel so warm and cozy.
The dogs are just too fun to watch but they don't even want to play with *me* anymore. I throw a toy, they catch it and run to the other dog to tug.
Taz would zip right around the house with them!
So glad that you liked the Dr. Bronners. That reminds me that I need to refill the bottle in my shower, it is almost out.

Felis- Happy Name Day to your sister! We are big fans of Bailey's Irish Cream here too. So good! And it is perfect for cozy days. I usually only drink it around the holidays- it is a "must have" when we decorate the Christmas tree. It sounds like you had a very festive time with the family together.
Oh, and by the way, you were concerned about your English when you first started posting and I have to say that you are absolutely doing great with it. It is rare that I have to go back and figure a word out and it usually very easy to do. I am really glad that you didn't let a language barrier keep you from chatting with us.
I agree with you, better to leave old sites untouched unless there is a guarantee that it will be conserved properly.

On a neat side note- Scott is on a field trip today to the Ramapough Reservation. It is right near his school and his Geology class is off to see it. I am looking forward to seeing what he can tell me about it.

Have a great day, and stay warm!

good morning - It is chilly but luckily not as cold as Chris's town. Tomorrow though it will be below freezing but luckily Luther will be playing with his doggie friends and I can hide inside. He walked fast and I stayed warm. Yesterday I left with Luther just after my DH had gone to work and Luther followed his scent and did not just wanted to go back home so we did. Well I had to go to the vet and took him to the local park that has a pond and the river runs beside it. Well the colors were gorgeous and I saw the first of the flocks of geese as they head south or stay. And lots of mallards and blue jays. That was fun. Luther at first wanted to head to the water but I said I don't think so. It was good. Had fun with my girlfriend. Just catching up but fun. Had a good talk with my sister and that is always fun. Now tonight my team plays the Oilers. I am hoping to get one of my injured players back tonight and that will be awesome!

Chris that play of Cait's was awesome - what fun dialog! She really has a great imagination and how fun for her teacher to see her potential. You are a great mom to start Scotts car. Glad you house smelled good. Hope you stay warm.

Trudy when you said you had snow in the mountains I had no idea you had SNOW in the mountains. I like hiking in the snow it is always so quiet. But if the roads are iffy no go for sure. Bet you had a great me day.

Rae sounds like you are enjoying the new schedule. Congrats on getting it done and have a slight break.

Felis happy name day! sounds like cozy fun!

Jean hope you are staying warm.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I've got my GP appt this morning for the talk about my cholesterol. I am still on the fence about taking nothing or taking a small dose for a bit and see how I feel. I have two books coming that hopefully will better inform me. So I'll need to decide what to do for the next 2-3 months as I read the books and do some research. I know either decision is not going to make my doctor happy so I'm not looking forward to this conversation.

I've been sleeping a bit better this last week or so and I swear its b/c of the lavender EO I am putting on my pillow. It's the only change I've made and it's consistently been better for the last 7 days or so. Diffusing EO seemed to help a bit but the EO on the edge of my pillowcase seems to have worked even better. Yay. It's amazing how much more alert I feel when waking up. Hope this continues. I still wake up a few times at night but drop back off really quickly and it's happening much less frequently than usual.

Chris - Cait is so creative, as you are too. Enjoy the sunshine, hope you get everything done and your sluggishness improves.

Nancy - sounds like a lovely sighting at the pond. I laughed about Luther wanting to go to the water. Taz is like that too. It doesn't matter what the temps are, he will go running in every chance he gets. Then it energizes him and he zips around a hundred mph LOL

Trudy, Jean, Felis and everyone else - hope all is well.

I'm going to get to work now before I have to head out to my appt. Have a great day, everyone!

I'm like Nancy, chilly but sun is shining, so we make a very long walk for compensation of yesterday. Was very nice. Also my aunt came. Was nice to see her feels more comfortable on her second job, even she would prefer to not need of it! We all try to encourage her, and I was warned strictly from my sister to not tell things like that the higher lifestandart is fudge :mmph:, so I was very careful. I want to be supporting person, but seriously it's a ridiculous to spend your days at a factory with nasty colleagues, just because your family deserve higher standard. Life standard is not something that you deserve, but you want or not. However they are decided together, so I'll give my best to be supporting.

Nancy, your day sounds great and pretty much like mine :) . Good luck to your team on tonight game!

Chris, Cait 's play is so sweet, I see it in my mind like a Puppet Theatre. So is this what she wanna do, to be a screenwriter? Looks talented. I was wondering do you make from these mini melts for candle aromatherapy? Oh, I still worried that I made you all struggle with my english, but this topic is so favorite for my, so I'm a little bit selfish.

Rae, I hope too that your good sleep will continues! I have bag with lavender too, because I have episodes of insomnia when just wake up at night and can't fell a sleep before the sun rise, very strange, like I'm some kind of vampire or something like that :) hahaha, but they told me that actually was part of the depression symptoms (never say to MD that you are in sorrow or vegetarian, they automatically told: ''oh, obviously that's it!'', even when you seriously doubt it). This year is much better, but unfortunately lavender just don't worked for me. I can imagine why someone can be afraid to tell with a doctor, they are very arrogant here. But this is your body, so last word is yours! Hope your conversation goes well!

Trudy, hope you have a great day!

Jean, hope today we'll have a good news from you, girl!

Morning O-zies! It is wet and much milder here this morning. My poor Hydrangea took a beating with the heavy frosts from the past few days though and it is all black Yuck! I was reading that you are not supposed to cut them way back either so now I have to look at this horrible huge black bush all winter  I have some exciting news to share with all of you ladies today!! My sweet wonderful son and his wife have booked flights for us all to go to PARIS in July, because he has done so much traveling over the past six months he has a ton of points with Air Canada and so he wants us to join them for a week in Paris!! I am over the moon excited about it, it is one place that is on my bucket list and I can't believe that my DH is actually excited about it too! We will spend a few days in the city and then we hope to go to Vimy and perhaps the beaches in Normandy and do a Memorial tour, DH is most excited about that! I am excited to see the Louvre and all the wonderful masterpieces it holds! So needless to say I did not get too much accomplished yesterday as I have been conversing back and forth with my most AWESOME Son!!

Chris - Please don't hate me! I do have some Christmas gifts bought and ready to wrap, but thankfully I do not have to mail anything this year, because everyone will be here for Christmas!! I am such a happy Grandma!! No luck scrapping yesterday, but will try again at some point today. First I have to get through a lunch meeting with SIL Linda and a friend of my MIL's they want to discuss MIL's health, so not sure what is happening with all of that? It will be an interesting visit to say the least! What a wonderful imagination your daughter has! I hope that she does get her play published, perhaps one day she will be famous and her Rats will be Super Stars!! LOL Your body butters sound heavenly! Wish I lived closer so I could come over and smell your house :becky: I hope Scott brings you back some interesting facts from his fun day!

Nancy - It sounds like you had a most enjoyable walk with Luther yesterday, hope all went well with his visit to the vet too! Sorry to hear that your temps are much cooler, but I suppose winter has to arrive at some point doesn't it! Nice that you and your sister have such wonderful talks together! I also was chatting with my sister yesterday and really need to get in touch with my other sister that lives close by, she works so hard and I just don't get to see or hear from her very often. Yes lots of snow at higher elevations around here, but I am sure that it will melt away soon now that our temps are more normal for this time of year. I believe that the roads were just way to slippery for us to get to the trail head for our hike. Oh well it will happen next year perhaps?

Rae - So happy to hear that your next few days should be a bit more relaxing for you! You really are the Queen of shopping and I really wish I could go shopping with you! I never find really good deals on anything LOL. Guess I just don't look in the right places :noidea:
Hope that you and Jen figure out what to get for DH, men are hard to buy for, thats for sure! Most likely my DH won't get anything more than new slippers for Christmas as we will be spending our $$ on this trip that we will be taking. Son is paying for flights, so we are going to be paying for the Air B&B that we will stay in and our meals of course. Yikes it might be a hard thing to stick to my Keto while in Paris! :becky: I might have to try that trick with the EO on the pillow, something I might suggest to my daughter also to help her little guy sleep better at night.

Felis - Happy be-lated name day to your sister and father! I hope you had a wonderful festive time together! Yes I agree that if sites are dug up it would be much more beneficial if they were protected or not dug up at all. Hopefully one day there will be more funding for such things! I hope you are enjoying another good day!

Well I better get things cleaned up around here and then have a cup of coffee, just got off the computer with face timing with Heather and Hunter, always the highlight of my day! Such a happy little man, sad that we do not get to speak to Mason very often now, but I will take whatever I can get! Have a wonderful day O-zies!!

I don't know where my days have gone. Tuesday I was invited to lunch before our board meeting by two of my friends. Of course we talked so much we were late to the meeting! Yesterday in the afternoon was the monthly genealogy group at the senior center. That is just two hours, but always such a nice time. I've also been spending a lot of time entering all the data and images from those German church records in my genealogy program. And still trying to pry all the information from them. This afternoon I have to get BP checked and I'm sure it will still be high, so don't know where that will go. It started sunny today and not too cold. That is coming tonight when we drop below freezing and have threat of not just snow but lake effect snow which can drop lots of snow in places - but probably won't be much this time. It will be cold tomorrow and then warm a little.

Chris, I see why Cait is a keeper! Not only that she wrote such delightful nonsense but shared it with you. And such good things to report from yesterday in Gary's Dr visit, possibility of less expensive meds, great smells in the house as the result of your accomplishment. And today will be Scott's tales from his trip. Bet we'd all like to take a deep breath of the scent of your work.

Nancy, good luck to your team tonight. I had seen that they lost the last game but couldn't have imagined your good luck with the seats and great view for photos. Funny Luther wanting to follow DH's trail and not take a walk.

Rae, how great you're caught up and having some time to relax. You have us all in awe of your shopping prowess. Did I miss the result of looking for a different monitor? Hope that is working out.

Felis, sorry to have left you to worry. Some days words just don't come to me and yesterday somehow I never even made it to the O. Nice name day celebration. Don't think I've ever tasted Bailey's but know some people think it is the best. Hope all your animals are adjusting to cold weather. Do some just stay indoors for the winter?

TRUDY! How exciting. What wonderful times to look forward to. Everyone there for Christmas then Paris in July. Guess your kids are keepers too. :biggrin1: Sorry about the hike yesterday. I hadn't realized you had that much snow already. Good luck with MIL discussion. That is never easy.

Hope everyone is keeping warm.
