hello hello hello!
I am officially adjusted to the time change and woke up at 4.30 again. I guess that is better than waking up at 3.30. o_O
Yup, I am *tired*

How was everyone's day? It was a mixed bag of *insert image of a tangled ball of thread* for me. I won't bore you with the details but the high/low lights included a hot, sunny day (not sure if that is good or bad at this point. 76* feels wonderful as long as you don't think about it), Thursday's HS session is officially canceled but that frees up some time so I can get ready to host Thanksgiving (also not sure if this is good or bad), and I made a really delicious vegan chick'n gnocchi soup for dinner (also good and bad since it was 76* outside and I was sweating the entire time of was cooking and eating it).

BFF's mammo and U/S are today and I feel terrible that I don't know what time so I'll text her good luck as soon as I am done here. She was not in good shape yesterday. My mom got back from the hospital in the afternoon and will need to have blood work in 7 days to check the status of her kidneys. She sees the vascular surgeon next week to see where and how bad the blockages are.
Since I am not working today I'll start making my game plan for Thanksgiving. Guess I should start a deep clean on the house too. I need to rework my lessons too now that I need to scrap half of them. And nope, not the fun, creative PS scrap them. :giggle4:

Sending everyone big hugs

:hug4:

@Su_Sanne Did the nail polish come yesterday? I love the green color so much!
I hope that you pop in here as often as you can. Pictures of your dogs are also appreciated :)

@BoatLady Your day with the club ladies sounds wonderful! What plants we you gifted and did you decide where to put them?
This year has been extremely difficult for both of my parents, mentally and physically, and it sure has been hard to watch. :brokenheart:

@JeanneMN I am sending you so much love and strength and hugs right now~~~~
I just hope that the good news and thoughts will come again soon and that you will find your footing again. :heartpumppink:
Thank you so much!!! ♥

**Gary and I just watched the same squirrel take flying leaps off of my neighbor's roof to get to the bird feeder. He has plastic bottles running from the roof to the feeder so they can't climb to it. This squirrel tried three times in a row-- the same squirrel!- to land on the feeder but fell to the ground. Three times that we saw! :rotfl:**

@taxed4ever I hope you had a wonderful hike yesterday. I bet it was fantastic to reconnect with your hiking friends. Have you ever hiked at night? Scott and Sam asked me to go on a night hike with them on Saturday (it is for Scott's job so he is leading it and Sam wants me to join her) and I am not sure if I want to go. I have a hard time seeing at night and I don't trust myself even with a flashlight and headlamp. Just curious about your input...

Or any other hikers want to chime in-- @Terri M ? @BoatLady

Not me. I opened the door to the deck this morning and said It feels like Florida. Warm and humid at 7am in November is not right.
It's not right at all. The friend I was cleaning for yesterday was wearing shorts and a tank top!
There must be floods in her area because they've told everyone to stay off the roads unless necessary, but she's not affected other than the perennially wet spot in the basement.
I'm glad that she is only getting the "usual" dampness. Has the rain stopped?
You sound like you were super busy with the meetings, I hope that dinner at a winery is an option for you soon :)

So I failed spectacularly which was good but I did try and that was hard cause I didn't expect to be poor! I expected below average. SO next step is to submit the papers to surgeon and he will finalize and send to insurance.
I am both very sorry and relieved. Hopefully, this means you will be able to get the medical treatments you need and you can be on a path to feeling better and stronger. :hug3:

@BrightEyes I saw on my weather app that much (most??) of NM is under a winter storm warning. I hope that it's not too bad and esp that you will be able to get your meds before the 10 days are up.

Tracy- that's the worst when the snow melts and freezes again and again. I hope that your weather gets on track to what it should be too.

Prayers and good thoughts for your BFF and your mom! And I hope your class didn't get canceled!
I'll keep your BFF in my thoughts and I'm sending vibes that you know what to help her with. Your mom, too - I'm sure she's not happy that she has to stay in the hospital. Poor thing - one more item to add to your worry list.

I appreciate the good thoughts!

xoxo

The table under the pergola has about 4" of snow... while the white table not under it has 6" of snow on it.
There are a lot of power outages due to trees falling on power lines. My neighborhood has buried power lines so I still have power. Yes, I will staying home for the next few days until the roads are clear.

Good morning, the heat here in NJ is really unbelievable and I'm one who hates cold and loves being warm. Yet, this is a bit surreal, it hit 77º yesterday and guess what we did? With all the heat and humidity we went on "The Polar Express", talk about surreal. o_O We kept telling each other to pretend we were in Florida and although we tried, we could not wear our usual pajamas but ended up in shorts and Christmas tshirts. Yet still we were so hot we were sweating throughout the entire event!

I don't always have time to comment, but I do read most day's posts and wish everyone the best. :heartpumppink:

@faerywings The nail polish arrived and I painted each finger differently. The colors are as great as in the picture!
The poor squirrel. Can't you build something for it to land on? It will hurt itself at some point. Michael has hung a feeding station just for squirrels high up on the old oak tree. When it's empty, it looks for food among birds. I tremble every time Micha climbs up the ladder to refill it. o_O

@AK_Tracy Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm still not sure why you're having such trouble walking. I'll have to go back further in the news to get an update. In any case, I wish you a speedy recovery!

@BrightEyes How beautiful, Kay! I haven't seen snow this white for a long time! Just be careful when you walk!!!

@MariJ Your extreme temperature differences are fascinating. There is snow in New Mexico and we have summer temperatures in NJ. But this warmth doesn't really feel right. It would be nice if you found the time to stop by here.

It's already dark here and I'm going to prepare dinner for us and entertainment for the dachshunds. Let's see if they roll their treat balls around this evening or if I fill the sniffing mats. I work a lot with carrots, so my dachshunds stay slim, which is how I like it! In the summer they spend a long time outside and work with their noses. At this time of year they get bored and get on my nerves if I don't think of something. There are also great wooden intelligence games... They always have some variety and can then devote themselves to their own toys.

Have a pleasant day!!

Good Morning O fam!

@faerywings Chris what a day! Sounds so up and down. And what's with the weather? Its like it skipped 6 months and were back to spring already. Prayers for your friends mammo.

You're colder then me!!! We're 36* with a high of 42* which is crazy hot for here this time of year. Glad youre staying home until the roads are cleared but your photos are beautiful! Send back the snow!!!

You dont need to scroll back. :heartpumppink: I have lipedema. the short story is the fat cells turn fibrous and hard. You cant diet/exercise them off and I am working my way toward surgeries to remove the fat. My legs are heavy from the hard fat which weights more then normal fat and I tire easily lifting so much extra weight. My arms are that way too and lifting my arms above my shoulders is hard. I also have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease x-linked and my myelin sheath is dying off and nerves cant travel all the ways they're suppose to which leads to lack of muscle control and I have foot drop from it and that adds to the tired as I have to lift my legs higher when walking so as to not trip on my dragging toes. Throw in hyperflesxablity and my joints are a mess. That's the short (not really short) version. I've created some AJ layouts of the issues that go into a bit more detail.

What's with the weather and why is it crazy everywhere? We keep getting up to the 40's F and that is just wrong wrong wrong. My friends driveway was so slick, I couldn't even make it in her drive (on a hill) it was so slick. Today should be a bit slower, just post office and bible study. Then tomorrow, if all goes well, we will finally grout the kitchen tile we've been working on forever! Cant wait for the backsplash to be done!

Alright need more coffee! Have a wonderful day Ladies!

I biked this morning with my regular friends group! Yay! We go twice a week but I've been bike-forbidden since I broke my wrist. It feels so good to be back. Even if I went out in shorts and a short-sleeve jersey. This is the time of year we are usually negotiating moving our ride to afternoon instead of morning because it's getting cold. Not this year. We may get some showers this afternoon, which would be nice.

I made a lovely mushroom-leek-miso pasta for supper last night. Recipe says 4 servings but I think more like 6 so half of it is in the freezer. We'll have it again next week, I guess! Working on at least one non-meat meal a week but I don't always remember.

My occupational therapist has me using this lotion with vitamin E and cocoa butter to massage my surgical scar. It's OK but it smells like cake. I keep thinking someone's baking.

@AK_Tracy good luck with all the insurance deets! What a pain that always is!

@faerywings I'm sorry you have the Thursdays canceled but can't we all use that bit of extra time.

@BrightEyes You cab keep your snow! Or go ahead and send it to Alaska. Just not toward me.

@MariJ Polar Express sounds fun. Isn't it early? I guess you go when you can!

Morning everyone, just a quick pop in and out here this morning. Yesterday's hike was just what I needed, very refreshing and full of laughter and good conversation! There were 23 of us hiking and 14 of us all went for lunch to the ShipYard Restaurant afterward. I really needed the interaction as I got some very sad news first thing in the morning just before heading out on my hike. SIL Linda txt me to tell me that her x boyfriend Mark's daughter had passed away the night before. She had bowel cancer but had gone through treatment and was cancer free. She attended the ELO concert, with her Dad and Gary and myself as SIL had Covid and could not attend. Anyway she had been in Japan on a vacation with her friends and was back home from that, looking forward to coming over to the Island to celebrate her 40th birthday. She had missed her appointment with her Oncologist and so they sent the police over to do a wellness check on her. She was found peacefully in her bed and believe that she passed during the night. I guess Mark her Dad is just devastated as you can imagine. I am still trying to wrap my head around it myself, so I can't imagine what poor Mark and the rest of his family is going through. Sorry I gotta go SIL is txting me and needs to talk. :waving3:

Oh Trudy, @taxed4ever I'm so sorry for your loss. Mark's daughter was so young. How terribly sad, but at least she went peacefully. It sounds like she had been doing better, so that has to add to the shock. Poor Mark has tp be devastated/ Sending hugs to all of you. :grouphugyay::heartpumpred:

Thank you for your openness, Tracy! I don't know if it was a good idea to ask. It must be hard for you to have to explain yourself over and over again! Please excuse me if I was pushy!!!
I have to admit that I had to use Google Translate because of the many special terms and that unfortunately doesn't make your description any more pleasant! I have never heard of such an illness. I can only hope that the operations can help you. Everyday life must be torture. I hug you from afar and wish you lots of strength and success for the rest of your medical journey. I would never have thought that there was such a story behind your cheerful nature. But as my mother once said so wisely: Under every roof there lives an "Oh!" Perhaps you have a similar saying :heartpumppink: :heartpumppink:

Good afternoon,
Spent the day with Ilene. Went to Save-a-Buck this morning, ate lunch at Arby's, took the freezer stuff to my house and dropped a sandwich for Mark for after work. Then went to Ilene's and played Qwirkle until after 3. Came home and ate the rest of my Reuben from Arby's, fed Asher and let him out. Mark came home and unloaded the box from the car of the shopping trip food. He ate his sandwich while we sat on the deck. The weather is beautiful today, but a little warm...80*

Now he is loading up the trailer to take to his daughter's to load some equipment of his that she had borrowed. She is moving and has to be cleared out by the 21st. He will be making several trips back and forth. I may ride along to give him company if he wants me to. If not, I will spend the evening scrapping.

Have a good evening!

Please, ask me anything. :heartpumppink: All my diseases are "rare" and I love sharing what I have learned. The hard part is educating the doctors who are suppose to help. But by the time I am done, they know it all and then some extra info they didn't know they needed to know. I love your moms saying! Its perfect.
Tracy, I'm thinking of you and sending love and hugs. Take care, my friend. :heartpumppink:
Thank you Marilyn! :heartpumppink:

I left my house today with the intent of bible study, then Home Depot and then home again. I felt God telling me to stop at a friends work and say hi. Two hours later I left and oh man, she needed a hug and a shoulder to cry on in a bad way. So thankful I listened to the prompting and stopped. Now I have to figure out what to thaw quickly and feed my family for dinner in two hours o_O Kay, can I borrow a freezer meal??? You always have something in the freezer!! @BrightEyes. Hope your doing well and not too much more snow fell.

Off to figure out dinner.
