Happy Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you- those who celebrate today and those who already have done so previously.
I have lots of things to be grateful for-- one of the top things on my list this year is that I have my mom with me. I really haven't let my brain go into the dark places of things that could be, it is my survival mechanism to ignore anything bad. Stuff it down, Faery! Ignoring it makes it go away.
(It can't be 100% unhealthy to do that as long I recognize that I do it?)

Yesterday was a combo of productive and unproductive. I was able to get the last few boxes of things to be donated packed up and ready to go to MILs today where she will be able to put it curbside. That was the only thing I was able to cross off my list completely. I picked out the dental plan that was affordable in my price range. After I started the enrollment process, the fine print stated that anything like fillings would have a 6 month waiting period. So you could get a cleaning with no wait, but if you needed a cavity filled- 6 months. What is the point then? I went to the second plan with a different company and there was no wait at all. Halfway through the process, the enrollment page kept giving me a 505/Unauthorized to Access this Page error. I will have to keep trying.
I put up the DR curtains and I have no freaking clue how I hung them before. Whatever I did this time around-- well.... they are "technically" hanging from the curtain rod :pound: I plasticed two windows and then ran out of the tape so I have to get another kit so I can finish the rest.

Deviled eggs-- god only knows why I can cook a decent dinner but I CANNOT boil an egg. For real. Same technique as always. Eggs in water, bring to boil, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. They were soft boiled- I tossed them back into the pot and tried to reboil them and al of the shells cracked. when I lifted the lid off the pot, the egg whites had formed this sci-fi webbing across the top. Third try on the eggs and they did ok. I think. I only peeled them. Today I slice them... we'll see...

I played with the rats a bit and did dishes and all that stuff. Packed away some collectibles to put in the attic. Talked to my mom and my brother and texted with BFF. And that was my day.
We are heading to my ILs later this afternoon. I hope Gary is going to be able to come with us. We'll see...

Have a fantastic day, lOves!! xoxo

Trudy- wow, that was a good night's sleep, guess it made up for being up so early yesterday. Very smart to take the day off for hiking if it is that cold. I am seriously jealous that you are so on top of your holiday stuff.
The repair guy came around 3 and ordered the part that we need. we can do laundry as long as we make sure that we turn the water off immediately after the load is done.

Jean- The winds are here today and it is cold. I wonder how it is in NYC for the parade. Glad that your appt was good!
Rats can actually eat chocolate and dark choc is good for them when they are sick. It is a bronchiodilator and helps them breathe if they get an upper respiratory infection. They shouldn't eat a lot of it because like a lot of humans, they will fill up on it and not eat the healthy foods given the choice. Tell DH that I appreciate the question :)
That is a great idea to use the wood slat image for names. I love how we all bounce ideas off of each other here. *heart*

Rae- I adore the pics you have been taking, esp the chubby bird with the stick legs on FB. Too cute! That stinks about needing a new car. It is such a hard choice whether to keep dumping money into it or not.
Glad that you and Trudy can sub in pork rinds (ewwww LOL) for breadcrumbs. You could probably get away with just a dusting on top too.

Kay- How is the foot today? I bet the drops in temps don't help the pain at all. Smart thinking to check Best Buy for PSE. Even better that you got the sale price w/o having to leave the house Yay!
That is a relief that your dishwasher is working better. Enjoy your day, hope you are able to go to DD#!s today.

Hey Felis-- check in soon!

Love to everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. Went out into the garden for 30 minutes to photograph the birds and squirrels. Brrr....chilly at 28°. My poor fingers were so stiff when I got back inside. I've decided to put my photos to good use. I'm going to design and sell greeting cards in the new year. Not sure of any specifics yet, need to find out about paper, printing, where to sell, how much, etc. Will start researching after the holidays. Might have a lead on a printing company to use, through a friend of a friend. Don't know if it will pan out or not but it would be nice to get a printing company that can print off big sheets with the photos on the cardstock, just needing to be cut and folded. Anyway, we'll see. At this point it's all in the thinking stage. It might not be worth it in the end but I'll do my research.

Now that we're getting such frosty weather, I am wishing for a bit of snow (for my bird photos of course lol). Not a lot but enough to make the trees and ground look pretty.

D is on call this wkend so Sat will be a good scrappy day for me, as I'll have the day to myself. Looking forward to it. Will take some time to start pulling xmas boxes out from the storage but I'll do a bit at a time so I (hopefully) won't pull or strain my back. Jen was going to do it but then she buggered up her shoulder last wk and shouldn't be doing any lifting/pushing for a few wks.

Chris - that's crazy about the one dental plan. If you need a filling and it hurts, who would wait six months? And think about how much worse the cavity would get in the meantime. That's ridiculous.

I'm getting to work, got lots to do today and need to get at it. Hope you all have a great day, everyone.

Wow, we have a great Thanksgiving visitor. An adult Red-shouldered Hawk has been sitting in our oak tree for at least 15 minutes now at about our eye level and not that far away. I've taken photos through the windows that are pretty good for being through two panes of old, dirty glass. It is still windy and 39* but that seems OK for the bird. We are unlikely to go out and will probably watch football though DH hasn't yet turned on the first game.

Chris, they say the Macy's parade and balloons went on as scheduled though maybe lower. Somehow never got into watching that. DH's cousin would always give us a report. Fingers crossed the eggs were perfect to devil. Hoping Gary made it to the dinner.

Rae, feeding the critters sure has been good in attracting them and giving you such lovely images. Saw a LO with B's picture, is that her mom with her? Looking so nice.

Trudy, is the next turtle done? Hope you can move on from them soon. Snow in the mountains is a good place for it (same to Kay on that.)

Kay, hope the foot is better. Cheers for the dishwasher working and getting PSE at the sale price online.

Hope everyone's weather is fine.

This is what I woke up to this morning:

And we have 2 more storms coming through before next Sunday! Needless to say, I am not going anywhere until they are gone. Police are urging everyone to stay off the roads. Of course this weather is affecting my foot so it aching big time again. Decided that this is going to be a Pajama Day for me. DD#1 called to say Happy Thanksgiving and that they were staying in. She said she would bring me some 'left-overs' of turkey, ham, and trimmings once the roads were safe to drive on.

Wanted to pop-in and wish all those who celebrate it A Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to my USA friends!! I hope everyone is having a lovely day! I am very late getting in here today! I had an early facetime with Heather and Hunter and then decided I should hit the pool before catching up with everyone here. I am expecting the lady that I painted the sign for to show up any minute. Hopefully she loves it! I charged her $80 not sure if that is too much or too little, but whatever! So for the rest of the day I need to get painting and try to get most of my turtle done. It is a long process of doing layer after layer and I get distracted easily LOL. I also need to run to the grocery store, because of course I forgot to pick up the one thing I really needed yesterday...coffee!!! I might pop into the art supply store downtown too. So instead of doing a lot of painting and working on my calendar yesterday, I decided it was a good day to go through my cupboard where I keep my cook books. Well I purged big time and threw out just about everything. I only kept two old cook books that my Mother gave to me and the rest got filed under recycling! I had a pile of printed out recipes that I used for my Keto Way of eating and they are all my fav's, but they were looking pretty beat up and so I reprinted them all and put them in sheet protectors and then organized them in a binder. Hooray I am all organized!! I have been meaning to do that job for a couple of years now, it feels so good to be done! It took me most of the afternoon, but I am so happy I got it finished!! So today I will get a few things done here at the O and then do some painting, perhaps get my calendar page finished that I started yesterday too. What will be will be.

Chris - Sounds to me like you had a very productive day and got lots of jobs done and crossed off your to do list! I had the same problem the last time I cleaned my dining room curtains and could not get them to look the same as before LOL I should have just left them. Glad that you are able to get your washing machine fixed! Hopefully the part will not take too long to come. At least you can still do laundry! They sure don't make things to last anymore do they? As for your devilled eggs... I have a great little egg cooker and for some reason my boiled eggs come out perfect every time!! They peel perfectly too. This is what I have and I am on my second one, I just love it!

Rae - It sure was chilly again this morning and yes we did get the wind that you experienced yesterday also! Sounds like most of the country did too! I think the idea of printing out cards with your beautiful photos is a fabulous idea! Let us know how the search goes for a good printer! I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it will be work out for you! Enjoy your alone day!!

Jean - What a wonderful Thanksgiving gift that Hawk has given you both! I can't wait to see your photos!! Hope that they turned out through your glass, but I suppose he would have just flown away if you had gone outside to try to capture a shot! Enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving Day!

Kay - Uggh what a lot of snow you woke up too! Hopefully it does not last too long! Seems like the States always gets hit with bad weather right at Thanksgiving and the busiest travel day of the year! Good plan to just stay inside and keep warm! Sure hope your foot feels better soon! Isn't it amazing how the weather can effect us!

Ok I have to get to the store and then spend the rest of the day doing this and that! Have a great Thursday everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving US! Best wishes to you and your families! :hungry:

Chris ! I'm around, dear, and I really appreciate how you was delicate mentioned me on my day too! But I'm so blue, and this isn't feeling I want to spread around. One of my b-day intention was to step back from scraping. I'll try to finish only my 52 project next month. Please don't be sad, this isn't goodbye, just a temporary break! :frown:

Love you all! Hugs and kisses!
