GoooOd morning! I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their day.

:grinch:It's that time of the ear when I turn into a Grinch. :elf1:

I am in way over my head. And hoo-boy, I am feeling it. I don't like having so much of my life unsettled and truly wish I could get some of my to-do's to-done. :p
Around 8 am, I got a call from my friend who had to cancel on me for cleaning. Her 2nd-floor bathroom was leaking into the 1st-floor bath. My initial reaction was relief- I had some extra time to work on my own house- but soon I freaked out over the loss of some $. This time of year is hard enough financially. I went to the FP to get my lasagna and the woman who runs the pantry is one of the nicest, kindest people I have ever met. She was able to pack up a few bags of groceries and some dog food and gave me a hug. From there, I stopped at work to look for some plastic containers for next week's project. We are making moss terrariums and it would be nice to have each kid make their own and bring it home. I have plenty of glass jars but think that plastic would be much better and safer for this group. I brought home a microscope -- it's a kids' style so it's easy to use- but I still want to play around with it before. If you soak moss in water, you should be able to see tardigrades and nematodes under the microscope.

I keep forgetting that one of Caitlyn and Tom's gifts was making a wedding album for hem so I spent the rest of the afternoon working on that. I have 4 pages done. 16 more to go. :rolleyes1:

My mom is coming here this morning to work on her online shopping. Hopefully, I can get that taken care of for her and will somehow find time to do more of my own. I have to get the Cousins' Secret Santa info sent out today too. Sam is going to join in virtually and that makes me really happy ♥

Also making me happy today--- it is raining!!! :woohoo:

PS: I am due for my mammo and made a smart decision-- I am waiting until after the holidays. Made my appt for the first week of January. Wasn't that wise of me? *G* It is off my to-do list and can be ignored for weeks! LOL!

Teenagers! Why do some feel they have to badmouth everything and ruin it for others!? Do not blame yourself for her poor attitude! Those kinds of attitudes bug me BIG time too! I remember when teaching Sunday school and having one girl in particular who wouldn't answer questions, acted like she wasn't listening with her head on the table most of the time...
She isn't even a teenager yet. She is 9! She has a bunch of family issues and lives most of the time with her grandparents.
She needs positive reinforcement and modeling and was doing so good with the little ones in the last session. Sometimes, she acts out when things are hard at home. Not that it is an excuse to be mean to anyone. Nope.
I hope things work out with the car.
We Qwirkled all afternoon!
LOL! This made me chuckle!
I hope that you rested your wrist and it is feeling tons better now. I am sure the rain/damp weather isn't helping.

@AK_Tracy How did your trainee do on her own yesterday? Your manual sounds so helpful- that is how I would need it to be-- checklist style. Do this, then this, then this...
Oh I get this 1000%. The doc says hey and then brain says ooooo let me look and watch and see what I can find. Doc said panic, so now we panic but dont blow our cover, we're cool. Having to work yesterday was probably the hardest part as your mind was still processing everything from Monday. :heartpumppink:
Thank you! I checked my blood work and my Vit D levels have dropped some more (Lyme messes up the Vit D receptors somehow) If the Lyme titers are elevated, I know she is going to want me to start treatment.
And yup, my brain is in overdrive. Can't stop, won't stop LOL

nd who knows why or what's happening at home that makes them behave like that. You hate to reward her but can she be a helper? Like I know you know about this already what can you tell us about this? Can you show us how to do the finding of this bug? I know, it feels wrong to reward her like that but it might help keep her involved.
I have been trying to do this to an extent. It's a fine line between rewarding and singling out and putting too much responsibility-. Same as the older siblings shouldn't have to take care of the younger ones so I try to mix up the groups. IYKWIM?

To all of you- Thanks for the suggestions and support!

@taxed4ever I heard on the radio yesterday that the Bomb Cyclone was really bad in WA state, I hope it wasn't as strong a storm by you. Bad enough that you lost power and yikes, what a way to wake up at 4 am with all of the lights and TV turning back on, eep.
I adore the Halloween page you posted on FB - great idea to put all of the grands together ♥

@BrightEyes Did you have a wonderful visit with DD#3? (Of course you did, it is like me asking Vicky if she had fun with Ilene :giggle4: )
The temps are dropping quickly here too.

Vicky- ugh about the car!

@bcgal00 Please keep the snow by you :D
What a fun way to shop at the mall- glad you had a successful trip!

I wish I lived closer to you! I would love to go on your HS outings!
Just BREATHE and take one task at a time! You can do this!
Good idea on the mammo, too! And speaking of that, how is the BFF doing?

AWWW, the poor girl! I hate it when the innocent children are the ones who suffer in the home! :hug4:
It is what it is with the car! The good news...today will be a pj day since I can't go anywhere! ;)

Good Morning!
A frosty morning here today! It has melted in the sunny spots, but the shadows are still frosty! The temp is up to 39 right now. Not sure how cold it got but we were under a freeze warning after the rain yesterday made everything pretty wet!
The car.....the saga continues.....
Got the call yesterday morning that it was ready to pick up. Ilene came. First things first.....we picked Mark up and went to breakfast, took him back to work around 11:30 and went to get the car. Paid a price I was pleasantly surprise about and got in to drive home. I told Ilene to follow me.....just in case. Got 500 ft down the road and noticed the engine light was on! WHAT???!!!! I called the mechanic and told him the situation. He said, "Oh, shoot!" He asked if I wanted to bring it back then or tomorrow (today). I said I'm bringing it back since I am so close to you. He apologized and said I'll see what I can figure out.
Got the call today that the check valves he got from the automotive store aren't working so he has ordered from the dealership but it will be tomorrow before he gets them. I told him fine.
So, today will be a pj day and I will be working on my devotion for the widows and enjoying the sunshine streaming through my living room window!
Have a wonderful day!

Ok all dry and dressed and now I can only pop in for a second, we have a big mess to clean up after the Bomb Cyclone over at the In-Laws so I am headed across the street to help SIL Linda get that all cleaned up. I spent 2 hours in our back yard yesterday afternoon picking up some very large branches. The bin is full and the wheelbarrow is overflowing and there is still lots to do back there. Its going to have to wait until it gets a bit drier though. Hope you all have a fantastic day and maybe I can get caught up with you all on Friday. :waving3:

I get this!!! That was me yesterday. I felt like a music box ballerina, spinning around and around and getting nothing done. We were short helpers as they were sick so two ladies came early but it still felt like spin spin spin. At one point. I stopped, said self, one things at a time. Make the bread, then do the dishes. Stop trying to do it all. Worked to a degree.

They did great. They left me notes on things I just know that I forgot. So now I have a few more things to work on and add to my manual but it was good. I knew they could do it. Now they know too.
@taxed4ever I heard on the radio yesterday that the Bomb Cyclone was really bad in WA state,
My aunt is in WA and she's been out of power since Tuesday. My mom sent me photos and the destruction the trees did to the power lines in the area is crazy. I think they'll be out a few more days by the look of the lines.
Got the call today that the check valves he got from the automotive store aren't working so he has ordered from the dealership but it will be tomorrow before he gets them. I told him fine.

Glad you get to stay home but ugh that the car isn't fixed. I hope the part swap out is part of what you already paid since you didn't install the faulty part. I would argue if they tried to charge you again. This is his cost. He chose the wrong part. Okay, yep.
:soapbox:
I couldn't stay away so I'm back on the team!
WOO HOO!!!!! Welcome back!!!!!!

Oh my, that sounds like a ton of work. Sorry you have to clean up both yards. Hope the InLaws are helpful, in that they stay out of your way. :giggle4: Dont over do it and dont lift/twist and get hurt. Hope you can relax all day tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward to Friday the 29th. I dont have to leave my house (I dont think anyway). Will be the first time in three weeks that I don't have to leave my house. I dont have to leave for thanksgiving but it will be peopley. We are down to just three extra people and that makes me happy this year. Normally I love tons of people and having a great time but after the last two weeks, I am pooped. Totally spent and thankful several people are going elsewhere.

Okay, off to actually work :giggle4:
Have a wonderful day!
